I strongly recommend finding another gym. Canceling my membership here has been a nightmare. I’ve been trying to cancel for three months, and they’re still charging me—despite the fact that I no longer go and have spoken directly with the owner multiple times.
Each time, he assured me he would take care of it and cancel my membership, but nothing has changed. What’s worse is I had been a loyal member for years. Unfortunately, the gym has really gone downhill. It’s dirty, the equipment is worn out, it smells bad, and clearly, customer service is not a priority.
To make matters worse, the owner even offered me a refund if I left a good review, which I still haven’t received. I’m sharing this so others know the truth: canceling here is nearly impossible, and the gym itself is no longer worth it. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.

Avoid. This gym makes it impossible to cancel your membership without getting your bank involved.
Their contract stipulates that you must send a cancellation letter to their PO Box via certified mail, however they don't claim mail from their PO box and just return your letter, then continue charging you.

Join this gym at your own risk. The manager Tammy has a problematic attitude and apparently the owner is aware of it. The gym is literally a few minutes from our home so my husband wanted to join for convenience. The times that I've gone to the gym it wasn't clean and I'd never run into any bad customer service issues. A few months ago my sister who is on our plan came in and stared that Tammy made her feel horrible. I sent her back in while I was on speaker trying to explain the mix up she told my sister to hang up in my face. My sister stated that she felt like because she has a Bonnet on and was black that's why she treated her that way! Completely unacceptable! I told my husband to cancel immediately. He went to cancel and left several messages for the owner that were disregarded. This place is out dates and I wouldn't allow a dog to be watched in what they call childcare. This place needs to be cleaned thoroughly and need to be sanitized as well. Today was the last draw for me. My card wouldn't swipe so Tammy had to look up my account she started off pleasant up until I mentioned that we'd left messages for the owner and why I was initially upset. She stated that I wasn't a customer and that she wasn't going to talk to me via phone. She lacks accountability and must be related to the owner. Either that or he simply does not care about the way his business is being managed. Either way we upgraded to a gym that is 1000% better! Cleaner and the staff is extremely friendly! So, Tammy did us a favor. We'll pay the extra fee to have a pleasant gum experience from here on out!

This gym would appear to be a hidden gem but the customer service is not welcoming at all. It’s cramped, and if you want to cancel your membership, start now and hopefully it will be cancelled by next year. Management (Tammy) needs to do better. People go to the gym to burn calories and release stress not encounter more problems. It matters how you treat people. Update Ultimate fitness is horrible. I went up there to cancel my membership due to the fact that the new owner does not keep up with the gym. Jason was the owner it was well kept and clean. I noticed since this new owner it went down . One of the toilets has been out of service for months. I mean months, so we are down to two, and it's still not working. He uses it as a storage. It takes a while for him to fix it. There were a couple of times we did not have paper towels to wipe down the machines. I had to go to the restroom to use toilet paper to wipe the machine down . So when I went to cancel my membership, he lied, and he said I have to give him a notice and in takes 30 days . I said sir in my contract, it did not say that."" Remember , I went to this gym for 20 years, and on top of that, he said with his own mouth, I dont think I would have it . After his NASTY ATTUIDE, going back and forth, he finally told me he canceled it and he wanted me out of his gym. *** NOT A GOOD GYM AT ALL

This place has really gone downhill. It used to be a cool powerlifting/bodybuilding gym.
It still is, but there have been few (if any) improvements in 10 years and most of the equipment has become run down.

Equipment will take at least a week to be repaired. There are hardly any clips. Bars are bent or are unmaintained.

There is a yearly charge for "equipment upgrades and maintenance". I wonder what is happening to that money.

Been a member since 2008 and every now and then a machine will break down but the old owner (Jason) would fix it within a week or sooner. Now that he has sold it to this powerlifting guy, 1/3 of the machines here are broken and it's been that way for over a month. I and other members have complained but he tells us what we want to hear while the machines stay broken. This gym is going downhill real fast and I don't see it staying open past 2023. It's a shame because I've been here so long and I hate to see it go down this road but what can you do with a new owner like this?

I've been coming to this gym for 7 months and enjoy how convenient the 24 hour access is with my family and work schedule. This gym has all the equipment plus more to get a good workouts in no matter what your goals are. There's new equipment coming in, if something breaks it's quickly repaired, and there are multiple stations to workout on so you don't have to wait until someone else is done.

A new owner recently took over and you can tell he cares about making this gym a good experience for the members. This gym is a welcoming place no matter where you are on your fitness journey and I strongly recommend it.

Joined Ultimate in Feb 22, retired, and looking for a good place to ease back into a fitness routine I could handle. Ultimate has 4 great senior "silver sneakers" classes that allow you to work up your endurance at your own pace. Mon, wed, fri at noon for senior Classes that instructor Kelly focuses on all areas of the body, then on thurs, zumba gold, developed by Lisa for seniors, a really fun time for music and dance lovers, again, working at your own pace to great music with a great instructor. I've heard they are participants in the Medicare Silver Sneakers program, so there's no excuse!

The music at this place is always so loud I can’t even hear my music/video at max volume. They only have two cleaning bottles for the whole gym, and half the time at least one of those cleaning stations is empty. I guess I just have to jump on machines as soon as they’re available and risk getting sick, cause there if you try to walk to the other side of the gym for the cleaning bottle there is a high chance someone will jump on your machine.

I also get yelled at every other time I come here by a guest because I’m using “her machine” - I know this is not the fault of the gym, but it makes me not come in near as often now. I try to come her to burn off stress after work, but this place is often even more stressful.

The owner of this gym is the biggest d#%k I’ve ever encountered in my life, & as an active duty Army veteran, I’ve encountered my share of unpleasant people. As long as you’re “a regular”, you can work out with whom you please, you do not have to show proof that you’ve paid for a monthly membership, & you can utilize the gym, & most of its services just by strolling in. As a woman, who pays my membership faithfully & monthly, & a woman who allows my daughter to attend the daycare here, I expected to have no run ins with anyone here. I stopped attending this gym back in September, & I am still being charged a monthly fee of $30 in my absence. The best way to make sure that you leave this gym officially, & permanently is to ensure that you pay your membership via cash, & DO NOT place any cards on file, EVER! The employees that operate the front desk, & the janitors are pleasant people, I never had any issues with any of them, but the owner, his wife, & his friends are MORE than despicable to deal with. I HATED my experience here, & I wanted to forewarn any future customers.

As far as 24 hour gyms go, it is one. However once your membership agreement is up, going up to the counter and requesting to cancel your membership won’t work. They tell you that you need to use the address on the back of your member badge and MAIL THEM A LETTER REQUESTING TO CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP. Then it’s cancelled 30 days AFTER the postmarked date. You read that correctly. Snail mail, to milk another monthly fee out of you. Crooks. Also they only use bank acct. and routing numbers to pay for your membership, no cards.

If I mail in the access cards then how can I use the gym for the last 30 days that I am getting charged for? It is outright wrong to charge someone for a service that you are not providing. I am a member of this gym. I called this morning and ask the lady how do I open the do to the cycle room because I like riding the cycle bike as part of my workout everytime I come the door is looked. The lady said the room door is never lock she said it in a very rude way. Through part of my workout I go to open the door it is locked. I stopped coming for 2 weeks because the toilets was broke and they lie there is never no staff here on the weekend and this place is unprofessional. I have only been a member a couple of months. If I could give this place a -zero I would there is nothing worse then not being able to finish your workout cause a staff member lies and does not do there job I have pictures of the bathroom and the video of the door being locked. If you need staff on the weekends go to another gym cause you will get unprofessional help here or none at all.

But after taking several months off due to an injury, I recently returned and was struck by how dirty the men's locker room had become. There is a dusty, dirty filth around the floor perimeter. It needs a deep cleaning scrub. I brought this to the attention of a staff member 2 weeks ago. The filth remains.

This gym is amazing! Yes, it does have it’s busy times. But, what gym doesn’t? All members are happy to work in with you as you switch sets/machines! There is also a class for EVERYONE! Classes from yoga, strength training, cycle, barre and so many more! The instructions LOVE their job and motivate you the entire time! The staff/owner are very nice and welcoming, they also keep equipment/restrooms very clean and are happy to hear any recommendations you may have. The child care is also very clean, safe and the staff are all very accommodating to your child’s needs!
There is also an option to try the gym for a week before joining. Go check them out!

Don’t bring your kids.

I recently signed a contract and I am beginning to regret the decision. The facilities are ok for the size of the building although to you can expect to wait for certain pieces of equipment during peak hours. I have also had experienced treadmill belts slipping multiple times and bathrooms out of order.

My major concern is the lack of consistency when it comes to childcare. I have only brought my kids twice, but I will not do so again. Multiple times I have seen mothers with their children ready to work out turned away because the childcare facilities have refused to take their children. Management cites club rules that I am yet to find written or posted anywhere in the gym or my contract. Just recently I watched as a long term (5+ years) gym member was chastised by a gym manager in full view of the entire gym for bringing her children as she has done previously with no problem. To say she was embarrassed would be an understatement. When she approached the owner of the gym about the manager’s behavior and the lack of consistency, she was met with little more than a shoulder shrug.

This gym is ok if you’re single or don’t want to bring your kids, but other than that save your money and spend it with another business that will actually appreciate it. I would cancel my contract but of course, the process is convoluted and tedious and essentially designed to be impossible.

One of my new favorite places! My toddler LOVES the daycare and teachers here! This makes my workout so much more enjoyable knowing he's having fun. The classes are excellent, no matter what kind of shape you are in! Great atmosphere all around…highly recommend!

Ultimate Fitness has been the best gym! The members are so happy and it is family oriented. I would recommend this gym to anyone in the surrounding area.

I have been working out at the Ultimate Fayetteville location for 2 1/2 years. I have really been impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. The staff works around the clock wiping down the equipment which reduces the opportunity for staff to grow. That is a problem at some gyms.

I am amazed that this fitness center is still in business. My husband has been working out at the facility for several years. We have wanted to cancel the membership for a couple of months. It is always a different answer when you ask an employee, how to cancel. Finally, after speaking with a couple of different employees, mailing a letter and waiting the 30 days, we are DONE with Ultimate Fitness!!!!!

Be smart, do the month to month at the new Fitness Facility down the road! It is cheaper monthly and you can freeze it at any time! Great facility and kind workers! Call Results Fitness (next to Broadway Diner)!
