I’ve checked out a lot of gyms throughout Atlanta and this one is by far the best. The place is always very clean and I love that the numbers of members is capped to avoid excessive overcrowding.

Updating because Rad personally reached out to me and then discussed how the employee don't work there anymore and invited me to his gym personally.
-------------------
Being really new and overwhelmed, I was inquiring about the gym nearby and reached here. The person at the front desk straight up seemed not interested in talking. I asked like which equipments do we have, do we have trainers here or what's the student membership look like, are there any classes, etc. like how I would enquire typically with any gym.
The person at the front desk straight up said NO YOU CAN'T CHECK OUT the gym because we are not accepting new customers. I'm like I get it, but when I called they never said that to me. Then he refused to even let me take a look around. Said come back when we got space. I'm like is there a waiting list or anything, nope. Nothing. Super rude.
I know your "business" is going well. But gosh so much attitude, especially towards people who are already anxious and overwhelmed is not needed. Do better.

Call was placed 7/14/2025 @ 2:31pm EST
I called to inquire about the gym, memberships, and equipment at the facility. I was met by a really short/un-interested/rude guy answering the phone. I asked if they have Olympic lifting plates and they didn’t know. They’re like we have gym equipment and just said “come check it out”. It’s important for gyms to provide information for guests, especially related to memberships/gym equipment. This type of customer service deters people and speaks about the overall quality of the facility (or the lack of quality in this case). I’d rather go to LA fitness with more people than go here, they are always courteous at LA fitness and most likely have more equipment too.

I’m kinda 25 years and one or two locations late on this review, but the employees and patrons of this establishment are the Wagyu of beef, authentic Texas Steak House style, not Sysco Oklahoma style. As an out every single night 150lb soaking wet “can’t miss the next party” impressionable 20 year old who was far from confident in my appearance or much less my sense of self, I was terrified and baffled on how I was going to put on a pair of gym shorts and lift anything in front of the hottest of the hot literal A List gays. (I do not approve of this term anymore, but they were. The Bradley Cooper, Tom Cruise, Courtney Cox and David Muir of (your welcome, Thomas) Atlanta/GayUSA
These guys (and gals) made me feel so comfortable walking into that gym from day one with my trainer (don’t get me started on trying to choose between the hot gay guy or the hot lesbian who wasn’t a gay guy) Holly I was able to more than settle into the (not so hard) hard work ahead. Not just in the gym, but out in the commUNITY, they showed what class was, what inclusivity can do, and what it meant to be a men (you too Holly :).
Thank you Kevin, Holly, Courtney, Zack, Cliff, Thomas, Patrick, Travis, and of course David.
Having recently lived the very literal execution of the nightmare of every fear that goes through every persons head in Oklahoma, it feels like something that should be noted. We may live in a “that was then”, “that place is gone”, “things are different “, fast paced gamer world….but you can’t top class. And…at a certain level, which this gym clearly surpasses, the weights are just weights.
Upgrade your workout.

So far this has been a great experience. Fair price for what this gym offers including showers. no membership lock (cancel any time) and very flexible if you need to pause it. They do have limit in the availability for membership and to be honest this is by far my favorite part as this gym full but never cramped which is one of the issues with others gyms. Last but not least as of right now current staff is chill and helpful if you have any questions.
One thing I'd improve, is to integrate membership availability count widget on website and when next open sign up window is, as it took me about 2 months to get spot by constantly checking with stuff.

Stellar gym: from the layout and maintenance of the equipment to the well-organized towel area. I've never seen a gym so clean. The front desk staff fellow is so darn nice and will answer any questions you may have. I'm just visiting and working out for a week, but honestly, I wish there were a gym like this near me!

The gym is great with a decent selection of equipment, never as crowded as other gyms in the area, has incredible staff, and it’s clear management really cares about the members. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for something locally owned with members who are there to workout.

My boyfriend and I were visiting out of town and urban fitness was super accommodating to us. They had every kind of equipment you could wish for and the staff was very helpful. We met the owner as well and he was very welcoming. If we lived in town we would definitely invest in a membership here. 10/10 would recommend

I worked out at UBF for about a year while recovering from an injury that kept me out of my normal sport. I’m a petite female who doesn’t lift a ton of weight but mostly knows what she’s doing, for context. I did not like this gym. It’s super crowded, heavily male majority, and some men who really creep. One dude catcalled while I was deadlifting and I was so startled that I injured my back. That hasn’t happened to me since the old 24 hour fitness creepy days. The staff who work there are very nice and competent but the owner is weird, and once put up a sign saying that CAMERAS WERE GOING UP in the gym because people weren’t cleaning equipment. I get it, we should all clean up, but it was bizarrely threatening. I think ownership could do a lot to make this a less default-male space. They hold seminars on men’s prosfate health; maybe have some sessions on women’s strength. There are lots of people in the Atlanta area who would be happy to come help with that. All gym culture needs to get more inclusive, and UBF is unfortunately no exception.

Says “come in for a 7 day membership with just a card a your ID. It’s that simple.”
No, it’s not that simple. They don’t actually offer this - and their expectation is that your “trial” converts to a monthly and that you’re pressured into joining.
I wasn’t allowed entry, there’s “no memberships left.”
Waste of time and bait & switch on the site. Fuming. No mention of this detail anywhere on the site, not even an asterisk.

I'm doing a 7 day trial currently, but I really like it here so far. There is a ton of strength training/lifting equipment. It does not feel overcrowded like La Fitness. The coffee and towel service is also great.
I love the location. Close to my home, but also close to other convenient spots for quick errands afterwards. (Piedmont Park/Beltine, Trader Joes, Coffee shops)

First gym I've ever been to that makes me want to go the gym. Staff is all very chill and friendly, and you get a similar vibe from the members all around. People of all experience levels go here, and my favorite thing about the place is that its never too crowded, the only time it's busy is right after work around 6pm (Show me a gym that's not)
The equipment is premium and plentiful, and I think the price is a great value for what you're getting out of a gym (There's no club fees/initiation either, which is something I've always hated about the gym industry.) I would highly recommend this gym to anyone in the area.

UBF is an outstanding gym. It's a great cross between a small boutique gym and mall-like LA Fitness. Rad, the owner, is friendly and hands-on. He has FULLY equipped UBF with top-notch equipment (Rogue, Assault, Precor, and more) for all workout types including the extras trainers and advanced fitness goers use. Stop in and see for yourself along with the expanded size! There's a real sense of community and mutual support. Members are serious about their fitness yet always willing to answer a workout question or offer a spot. Individual spray bottles and hand towels are at check in. Plenty of free parking along with spacious locker rooms, clean private showers with soap & shampoo, plus towel service.

I have been at UBF for almost a year and love it. The equipment is well maintained and the owner, Rad, is usually on site making sure everything is running smoothly. Rad is so involved and cares so much about members that he actually pauses new memberships when he notices wait times for machines/crowding. I go at different times during the week and while sometimes it’s busy, I have never had a problem getting a good workout in. The members are respectful and are there to work out—everyone is welcome!

I’ve been going to this gym for about a year and a half now, and I can confidently say that it’s the best gym I have ever been a member of. The equipment is well-maintained, and the gym is super clean. The people are friendly, and the owner genuinely cares about the members and the community. It’s refreshing to find a gym that isn’t run by people who only care about signing up the most members for their bottom line.

Everything you need in a nice neighborhood independently owned gym. Very easy to sign up, no big contract. About $60/mo. Wide variety of equipment, all in good repair. Nice little thoughtful touches. Easy parking and on the Beltline (it's up a hill behind the gym) just off Piedmont Park. Great tucked-away, but central, location. Usually busy, but not crowded. Attitude free. Occasional update emails from the owner, not marketing emails, but updates on the gym. Oh, and Sean's has good food next door, coffee and a nice little outside area to sit, or grab to go. Fingers crossed the gym will stay in place with the new owners🙏

I stopped by Urban Fitness today just to gather some ideas of what I can do at my facility in another area of GA.
Here is what I seen:
Covid practices still in place with bottles and rags.
Gym was very clean and organized.
Posters detailing what should be happening was arranged around the gym.
Gym was very neat and organized.
Had about a 30 minute conversation with the desk staff about how they were operating and such. Learned a lot of great tips and suggestions.
I strongly suggest this gym as a place anyone would go and try. They have a lot of different equipment than your traditional gyms. Great atmosphere!

I really like going to UBF. I've been a member for about a year, there's a good variety of equipment and it's in a good location with easy to find parking. Most members are respectful of putting weights away, minding their space, not being obnoxious, etc.
Since they reopened after the pandemic, I find the mask mandate and cleaning protocols very effective and I feel safe working out here. Capacity is limited, everyone is given a large spray bottle to clean equipment before and after use. If you need a mask break, you can step outside to the back to get some fresh air.

Coach B is so great at what she does that you don't realize the intensity level you are achieving until you attempt to use that muscle group the next day.
