This gym is so unsanitary. Just go in and look at how dusty it is, the floors are in disrepair and a tripping hazard in may places, every time you touch something in this gym your hands smell afterward, the showers are constantly filled with disgusting water. I've literally seen city trash cans cleaner than their trash cans an laundry bins. It was a waste of time and money signing up for a membership here but if you want staph infection or ringworm feel free to sign up here. Also don't bother complaining to the owners because they will probably publicly make fun of you. These are not good people.

I have been a member of this gym for 3 years (about to purchase my 4th year). It's a no frills gym but what I love about it is the people. There is really a sense of community at this gym. There isn't a time I show up where I don't see someone I know. These are my people. The bar used to be my people and now it's Village Fitness. I get in a great workout here and I love having 24/7 access. It's a real neighborhood gym and I like that I am supporting local business!

I’ve been an East Atlanta Village resident for 23 years and a member of Village Fitness for 20 years. I finally decided to write a review, because I finally started working with a personal trainer. I can’t say enough great things about my trainer Blake, who is also the owner. I really appreciate his attention to detail and the true personalization he has created for me in my fitness and nutrition program. The experience has been great and I’ve never seen the gym cleaner, more organized, and friendlier.

EAV is an eclectic little neighborhood. One of the many reasons me and my family have called it home for so many years. It’s awesome to see people from so many walks of life in there every day all working for the same goal of physical fitness. You won’t find that anywhere else around here and it’s awesome to know that they keep the EAV spirit of inclusivity alive.

Definitely a solid gym with kinda sorta everything you could need. The biggest thing is the gym really needs to be cleaned. There's tons of dust piled up in the corners and equipment that is broken or mildly unsafe. If the owner would invest into some serious cleaning, repaint, new lighting and some updated ancillaries, it would really be something special. Otherwise the staff are super helpful. Blake is always very attentive and welcoming. 100% a solid gym as long as you don't have high expectations beyond getting the job done. They also provide cleaning towels which is nice and for the most part people tend to wipe down their equipment.

Update: the owner's response claims they're doing this for the "societal good". They also claim I was provided with identification from the people operating this scam, and that the fines are well marked. All of these are lies. Complaint filed with the city, and looking for legal remedies for harassment and threats to property. Neighboring businesses should also be alerted that this is going on. None of this is making anyone "safer" that's for sure

This gym is very well equipped for both the casual fitness person or someone who is serious about building muscle or competitive bodybuilding. There is enough equipment that even during peak times, you can get in a great workout. My 11-year-old granddaughter takes the Olympic weightlifting class and loves the coach. They have a wide selection of group classes and trainers too. Membership options fit every budget from $35 a month to $349 for an annual membership. The gym has its own convenient parking lot.

For a small company you need to invest in a better booting company. This random man in gym clothes with a random card said I had to pay him 75 to get a boot off. I was in a rental and didn't have a decal. He claimed it's his personal business when I asked him for the name that wasn't popping up in Google at all. If this is how you make your money then just say that. When asked how to pay he started cash, cash app, or zelle. Very suspicious and unprofessional. I didn't feel safe at all. I will be sending this to my lawyers.

After two full years of auto-paying for a service I never used due to Covid followed by a serious injury, manager refused to cancel membership until they were paid for *two more* unused months after my auto-pay credit card had expired. (Again, this is after two full years of paying them but never using the gym…) Also worth noting: only two (not very nice) showers that take longer to get warm than it takes me to drive home (not kidding… I swear their water heater is in another zip code), and front desk staff whose level of interest/enthusiasm/welcome matches the lukewarm temperature of the showers.

I have lived three blocks from this gym for 8 years and finally decided to join last summer. I asked them to remove my husband from my card when we separated which I am legally entitled to do - they should've reached out to him to then collect payment. They never did and during COVID when they were not open they continued to charge me for both accounts. They continued this long after our contract ended and after I had contacted them MULTIPLE times in writing. I reply to their emails on how my payment fails to go through monthly (bc my credit card had to eventually block them) and while they responded to this once they since stopped responding. they continue to try to charge that card months after the contract is over.

In terms of the actual service provided - the gym is ok. I've been working out for over 20 years now and have been to many. Pros - its never too crazy crowded that you can't work in to what you need. There are tons of treadmills and ellipticals, the people are just normal neighborhood folks which is nice and non-intimidating. Cons - not nearly enough variety of machines, cost is relatively high, obviously the service is awful.

Love having an inclusive place to go so close to home! At first I was skeptical about if could feel comfortable here… certain gyms can feel very skewed towards people in the fitness industry and make us average folks just looking to get a workout in feel out of place. I really love this gym. I love the local atmosphere and just the environment in general. This is a very diverse place. I see people of every walk of life and every race work out in this gym which is pretty cool I think. I would also say this gym is pretty reasonably priced amongst other gyms in the area. My one BIG comment is that they need to update some of their machines and weights. A facelift in general would do this gym very well.

Do not confuse with the racist CLOSED EAV Barbell club. This is NOT the same gym. Village fitness welcomes military and law enforcement officers. A police officer was spotting me yesterday and you can see plenty of military. They are also very inclusive and accepting of every walk of life. Everyone is welcome here.

The owners are awesome and the staff always helpful and friendly.
Plenty of parking and all members get passes for their vehicles. Towing is conducted in the lot so that we can have parking in this busy area of the village.

Equipment is always clean and I have never had issues with billing or customer service.

It is a great gym that offers spin classes, TRX, kickboxing, and a power lifting room. A great price along with a great mix of athletes, older neighbors, and people just starting their fitness journey. This is a great neighborhood gym. Those reasons in addition to the location is why I am signing up for a 4th year.

I called and made a one time payment on my boyfriends account and yet they tied my card up to his account as a whole. Like some other reviewers have pointed out, this is NOT the anti-military or police gym (that's different gym close by)... nor have I ever seen or heard anything of the sort here. I love this place. It's 24 hours, relatively cheap, has a variety of classes, and the staff has always been helpful and friendly with me.
My husband and many of our friends go here and we love it. No one has ever reported racism, sexism, or anti-anything going to this gym... It's awesome. 4/5 stars only because it is on the smaller side compared to some other gyms. We've also never had any booting problems, but we don't park in the gym lot unless we're going to the gym.

I got a five day guest pass but was unable to use all five days. I was new to the gym and I had to learn most of the equipment for the first time and on my own. I ended up very sore. I asked if I could spread the days out instead of using all five days consecutively so I could decide what I need from a gym and if this gym had what I needed. The female in charge at the time refused to do that and used that as an opportunity to try to sale me on a membership, which I thought was in poor taste .

STAY AWAY, VERY SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES! Craptacular customer service. They renewed my membership even after filling out paperwork not to. The phone number takes you to a message inbox. The phone published on the site has a full inbox. These people are impossible to get a hold of.

I have been attempting to cancel my membership with this tiny, dark and awkward Gym for over a year. Unhelpful staff and in a bad neighborhood with a history of crime.

I attempted to get a membership one day, during the middle of the day, during business hours and the young lady at the desk was not very helpful or informative. It was not a pleasant experience, encouraging me to spend my money at the establishment. I went in thinking it would be a a great gym because I live in the neighborhood but I decided to go elsewhere.

Went here on Sunday during business hours (as posted on their door) to try and get a membership. Doors were locked so only members can get in, I could see the office door was open but no employee in sight, called the number and no one answered.

*******They just recently got valet parking for Fri/Sat nights to help cut down on problems******* I've been a member here for 6 months and I haven't had any complaints. We just recently signed up for training and we love Reggie and Chris. I've worked out at all times of the day and night (work schedule varies from nights to days) and found that early morning is the least crowded. I tried to go one day around 6:30pm and there wasn't ANY parking either in the lot or around the street, so figured it was packed and didn't workout that day. I recently went in around 10:00pm and saw only a few people in there. Also, tanning is SUPER cheap for members and they have both a standup and a lay down bed. And as far as the being booted for parking in there lot...GOOD! like I said I go at all times of the day and night and I don't want to be forced to park far away because jerks use their parking lot.

Love the yoga here. I've had a membership here for over a year and my membership is never drafted the right price its $40 dollars when it should be $15. I've contacted them and was told it was free for the next 18 months because the past 6 months was charged wrong. After dropping down to $15 my account is still charged $40. I'm so frustrated Village Fitness.

This gym is awesome. It's a laid back place for real people who just want to get in a good work out. No gym bunnies or annoying muscled-out dudes lifting 5,000 pounds. Plus, it's 24 hours. The trainers rocks. And frankly, Cara, if you hadn't been booted in the Village before, you're lucky. Everyone is booting and has been for months. It's not really fair to bash on Village Fitness because they caught you parking in their lot when you shouldn't have been there.
