I bought a day pass a few days ago in a desperate attempt to find my new gym home after recently moving to the area. Unfortunately, this was not it. When we walked in, we weren’t really greeted—just handed some paperwork and charged $30 for two day passes, with no offer of a tour or even basic direction.

I had to go back and ask where the locker rooms were and got confusing instructions that left me wandering to find them on my own. The equipment was outdated, and I had to try three treadmills before I found one that actually worked. The equipment and machines were cramped and uncomfortable, and the overall space felt like it needed a serious update—and a deep clean.

After giving it a fair try, we left after less than 30 minutes. I’ve been to a lot of small, local gyms, and unfortunately, this was the worst experience I’ve ever had. Needless to say, we won't be back. I'm only writing this to help anyone on the fence about spending $15 for a day pass—save your money.

I have tried for over 6 months to cancel my membership but the owner has yet to do so. I was told by staff that my information was "in the cancellation folder" and yet Mr. Berry still has not cancelled my membership. I sent emails, have gone to the gym and have made calls every month when the charge shows up on my bank account. This man has STOLEN money from me at this point. I have practically begged the staff to please make sure my membership is cancelled and I get assured every time that the will make the owner (Mr. Berry) aware. I sent my first email in December of 2023 and here is July, almost August and I still have no resolution! I have now contacted my bank to let them know these charges are fraudulent. Be careful people! This man will happily take your money in the beginning but if you want to cancel - even after your year is up, he simply won't do it!

Fantastic gym, overall everything is great. My biggest concern is the quality of the barbells. Several are bent and others have loose sleeves. Some new Rogue or Texas power bars would make a huge difference.

This gym was not the best. It was never really clean and the equipment is out of date. They do have plenty of weights and squat racks instead of a bunch of random cardio machines which is good. The staff was super friendly and they have 24 hour access which is great. But the I just don’t like how everything seems a little bit dirty like the locker rooms and showers and other parts of the gym.

Best decision I've ever made was to join Walton Fitness 24. I take the Arthritis Water Aerobics class. Every Tuesday and Thursday. At 2:00p.m. And it's Loads of Fun and Amazing the way it makes your Body feel is Amazing. I wish I would have joined that class a long long time. 👌

Cannot sing Mr. Berry's praises enough! He has single handedly kept high school competitive swimming alive and well in Social Circle, Monroe & Walnut Grove! I love this fitness center, It's always nice and clean! This gym has everything you would expect in a gym including an indoor pool. The equipment is up-to-date and is always operable. The owner, Mr. Berry, is the coolest. If you reside in or near Monroe you should definitely consider this gym.

The gym is an old school gym where free weights dominate the floor which is great for my goals. It is nice to workout in a gym that is not dominated by a ton of cardo equipment that no one uses. The reason for the 3 stars is that they have as poor cleaning crew. I get to the gym at a very early time in the morning and the trash cans are over flowing with paper towels. There are empty and partially filled water bottles laying around. The showers are not cleaned daily for I have see garbage on top of the shower surrounds be up there for weeks before being removed. I have been known to take the sanitizer spray off the gym floor to spray on the shower walls to help feel better about taking a shower. Because I am getting to the gym very early this leads me to believe that the cleaning crew is either not doing their job or they are cleaning prior to the evening rush being over. Would love to give a higher rating but the cleanliness of the gym is what leads to my 3 star review.

I've been a member at this gym for nearly a year now, and have thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The atmosphere is fairly laid back for the common gym-goer, but there is plenty of equipment for those who wish to take it to the next level, whether that be powerlifting or bodybuilding. The staff has been extremely kind and Mr.Barry, the owner, is an incredibly nice man who enjoys to help others. The 24 hour card makes it extremely convenient to go to the gym and you have a busy schedule during the day. The one thing I think the gym needs to have done is to acquire some higher quality equipment when it comes to bars and plates. A few of the bars are bent slightly because they are designed for newer lifters rather than more advanced and could not handle the heavier loads as well. I think it would be beneficial to invest in some good power or deadlift bars from Rogue sometime in the future. I think it would also be smart to invest in more standard metal plates so it is easier to deadlift. Other than this, Walton Athletic has been a joy to be a part of and I am excited to see where it goes. Overall, pleased with my experience.

Best gym in walton County. The staff is friendly and the owner is a nice guy and will work with you on your membership. I signed up for a month and wanted to upgrade to a one year he applied the money I paid already towards my 1 year all I had to do was pay the remaining balance. Real easy to work with.

Lots of equipment! Very happy with the machine selection and workout classes. I'll enjoy my year membership here, but likely won't renew after that.

There are a few reasons for the three-star review:

1) The environment is generally dirty. I've wiped down a machine after use and the wipe came back brown.
2) There is only one area for stretching and floor work. If someone occupies that single floor mat, you just have to make do somewhere awkwardly around the machines floor. Would really like to see more options made available here, but the floorspace is dedicated entirely to weights/machines. Clearing out more dedicated stretching and ab work space would significantly improve the overall variety.
3) If you dislike MLMs, this environment may bother you. The shake bar is AdvoCare and I had a class instructor shill doTERRA samples on me.
4) If you are a person who likes TVs at the treadmill, they don't really have them for you here. This is fine for me, because I just watch Netflix on my phone, but I wanted to note that for someone who feels it may be important to them.

Cheapest Tanning bed membership around Walton Co, From experience with outback tanning, Body heat, and various others. Walton 24 Is definitely worth the price the Quality alone of the beds and maintenance that is continuously being put into them to assure the proper tanning experience aswel.
The owner and his staff do wonders for so many people, Glad too still have this place with courtesy around Monroe.

Walton Athletic 24 is an amazing gym. In the gym there are lots of equipment. There is not just workout equipment there are also tanning beds and there is also a pool, aerobic, spin room, and X-Fit room all in one building? I know. There is also a smoothie bar and there are pretty spacious fitting rooms with a shower and bathroom. So I suggest you go.

I really enjoyed working out here but have been pretty disappointed with the response I'm getting trying to not renew my membership (Not trying to cancel early or get out of paying just simply looking for a written commitment that my contract will not auto renew.)

The gym is in good condition and the people all were enjoyable to be around. The 24 hour access is great and the area is safe at any hour.

I would have been 5 stars until the administrative mishaps here at the end which have been less than professional from the top down.

I was a member here at Walton Athletic 24 for 6 years before I was hired as a personal trainer. I have now been on staff for a little over 3 years and in this time, we have done our best to accommodate our members. We have recently painted the entire facility. We are working on updating equipment as well and I must applaud Mr. Berry, our owner, for his efforts to update while being a one-man owned facility. We also recently had to close down our nursery due to the substantial loss of money each month but we are steadily working on creating other ways to make this a family oriented and fun place to reach ones goals. We strive to create an environment that is welcoming and we are always open to new ideas as to how to make our facility better for everyone. We believe that change is necessary in order to stay up with the times so our goal here is to provide our members with the best that we possibly can although we cannot please everyone. We are currently working on building a second sauna so we can accommodate those who love to utilize this part of our facility while keeping our first one up and running. We appreciate our members for having patience with us while we go through these changes and look forward to the new members we will welcome into our fitness family.

Buyer beware!!!! When I lost my job unexpectedly in March 2019 I contacted this facility to inquire about cancelling my membership as I could no longer afford it and due to the fact that I would be moving to Northern Virginia. I was told by the lady at the front desk that if I brought in a letter stating all of this and gave 30 days notice my membership would be cancelled, however I would probably be billed for the month of March as the billing cycle was only a few days out. I turned in the signed letter with all my contact information and my reason for canceling along with my membership pass and my 24 hour access key card as requested. I was billed for March and thought nothing of it.

When I was again billed in April I called the athletic club and spoke with the owner who was completely unreasonable and unsympathetic, in fact he told me it wasn't his problem that I lost my job and he had a business to run. He made it clear that he does not let anyone out of their contract early unless they meet three criteria cancel within seven days, have a doctor's note (which he made a point to point to say he doesn't have to do only does it out of the kindness of his heart what a stand-up guy), or move more than 35 miles away from the club (um hello and only three months left on the contract). He stated that he did not believe that his employee told me to do that and that he wasn't even sure if he had my request to cancel. Despite my simple request to inform me when my contract wouldd expire he continued to tell me that he wasn't going to argue with me as if he wanted to goat me into a fight over the phone. I told him I'm not arguing just tell me when the contract ends so I know how many more times you're going to bill my account. After about five request he finally gave me that information (July) He went on to give me a business lecture implying how much smarter he was in business than me although I have a degree in business from an accredited University. In fact his exact words were "you don't understand because you don't own a business you work for somebody I own a business".

Beware before joining this club. I know everyone pays a different rate because he will haggle prices with anyone to get you in the door and lock you down apparently. If you try to talk to the owner he will talk down to you, speak over you, and then eventually hang the phone up on you when you're not willing to see it his way. That's not even mentioning that the facility is pretty old and rundown. If you workout in the early morning hours like myself it's freezing in the winter and good luck getting a hot shower. Only one person can have a hot shower at a time there and if you're that person in the hot shower and someone else gets in your water is going to get cold real fast. Nonetheless if you do decide to join be prepared to pay for your entire membership no matter what, because there is reasoning with, or compassion from the owner of this facility. I'll

Good gym at first, but the equipment has aged through the years. No where to stretch before you work out except for where people walk to go to the dressing room. It use to be family oriented, but the babysitting services were closed because the owner said he didn’t make any money off that service. They were rude to my wife the last time we brought our 9 and 7 year old in. Now the dry sauna is getting closed because he said he had to pay too much in liability insurance. You have to stand most of the time when you are getting dressed because he is too cheap to buy a second bench. Seriously? I finally got tired of waiting on equipment so I am back in the market to find a family friendly gym with more updated equipment equipment.

Like this gym! My daughter and I have been members here for 3yrs...my weight goal is approaching fast...feeling great and looking great, but my daughter (the track champion) is much more motivated than I am 😏! The sauna and the treadmills are my favs. The only thing I hate is most of the equipment are broken and it's been broken for a while and the showers water seems to never get hot enough...Mr. William Berry needs to tighten up on those issues. Over all this gym is pretty good and the membership fees are reasonable as well.

Horrrible customer service. My wife and I got the couples package. And after a month a realized I was never going to use my membership and i never did. I went back in there to just cancel the couples package and keep my wife on her own I did not want my money back I just wanted to cancel. The manager told me he wouldn't do it he even went as far as to act as if i was less educated then him and whipped out a high lighter to highlight and read me the entire agreement. I understand the agreement but how can you be so rude. It is very clear they only care about money at this location not there community and customers.

I enjoyed this gym as long as I was a member but once I decided to leave the owner turned into a different person and would not work with me at all even though I had called prior to they pay cycle to give my notice.his staff said they didn't know their email address and said I had to come down there.

Its an OK gym, nice owner, lots of equipment and classes, clean but you never have access to the pool. It's locked up on Sunday. You will be asked to leave if your in it.

Its reserved for swim team and classes, a lot. They don't mention this when your signing up.....

The showers I'm not sure why but it feels like they can't keep the temperature steady.

There are days there is no hot water and others your jumping out of the shower to not get burned.

I've had cheap apartments do that when I have flushed before.

gym is okay, they have standard gym equipment. they offer classes but there is not a variety. i wanted to write a review because of my horrible experience with the owner. i paid $500 upfront for a year. my husband lost his job and so we are moving out of state. when we move i will have not even been a member for one full month. i asked william berry (the owner) to please refund my money and i explained why. he said "no" that he runs a business. he kept cutting me off mid-sentence and ended up hanging up on me. i look at my receipt and i realized that it was in fact a contract--a contract i never signed!! he had forged my signature!!!! we are taking legal action against mr. berry and hopefully we will be able to recuperate our money. do not trust this man!!!!!
