I really enjoy working out at Anytime Fitness! It’s never too crowded, which makes it easy to get a great workout in without waiting for equipment. The key fob access is super convenient, and I love that it’s open 24 hours, perfect for a busy schedule. The equipment is always in great shape, and the atmosphere feels welcoming.

If I had one suggestion, it would be that the cleanliness of the restrooms could improve a bit. They’re also pretty small and not gender-designated, which can feel a little awkward sometimes. Other than that, it’s a solid gym overall and I’m really happy to be a member!

I was in town for a short visit and grabbed a day pass, and I’m so glad I did. This Anytime Fitness is spotless, well laid out, and has a great variety of equipment in excellent condition. Even as a first-time visitor, I felt completely welcomed—the staff (manement) were warm, professional, and genuinely friendly. The atmosphere was inviting and motivating, and it’s clear the team takes pride in keeping this gym top-notch. If I lived here, this would be my go-to spot without question.

Fairly new member to AF Ohana but so far we're loving it. Gym is clean, machines seemed to be well maintained. Definitely a wide variety of different machines, which i love. There are sprays to clean up after yourself after you work out, only downfall is sometimes towels are all used but they do provide paper towel to wipe down, still no biggy. There are 2 bathroom that have showers n are stocked with feminine products should you need, just need to bring your own towel. Katiana has been amazing with getting us started. The atmosphere is nice and people have been friendly for the most part.

This gym has a very lowkey vibe with motivated patrons and an even more motivated staff. I see the employees working tirelessly when I workout during the weekday mornings and afternoons. Despite the constant renovations, they push through to keep the gym open and prioritize the customer. Specifically, Katiana makes it a point to listen to whatever I need as she greets me everyday with a smile. The only feedback I would have is ask that they provide a small mop so that I can clean and take responsibility for the sweat I make on the treadmills. This gym is perfect for 24 hr access workouts in foundational training! If you’re looking for a place to start working out and getting fit, I would highly recommend the Kailua location.

I’ve been going to this gym for a few months and I like it. It’s clean. They’ve got towels, disinfecting spray bottles, and staff clean during slow hours. You can go anytime, which makes sense since it’s literally called Anytime Fitness.

The staff are friendly and always happy to help. I like the equipment. They’ve got everything I need: cardio machines, free weights, and a squat rack that’s never too busy.

The members mind their own business and they give you space to suffer in peace.

10/10 good place to sweat.

I've been a member here for 6 or 7 years. It was initially well-staffed and maintained but then there was COVID, which was hard on all gyms. Then the existing owners sold and the new owners did not seem very engaged or ready to invest any more funds for maintenance or staff retention. They lost most of their good, enthusiastic staff and hired a revolving door of disinterested gym monitors. On top of that there was the months and months of no A/C, which likely made it hard to retain not only members but decent staff. I stuck with it because its extremely CONVENIENT. The place is compact and no frills and no nonsense - you park, walk in, do your thing, and get out - no wasted time and while most everyone is polite and respectful, there's also no incessant and distracting chatting and socializing. If what you want is a convenient place to get a full workout done, without any of the glam extras or social stuff, and without wasting your time - this is a good option.

I checked out several gyms in my area and hands down, Anytime Fitness is the best. I got one week free to check it out and feel at home there. I signed up after a week and am happy to be a part of the AF family. Kai, the manager welcomed me and allowed me to ask all the questions I had and then there was Amanda, one of the trainers that walked with me to each piece of equipment and set the machines up for my body. She did a very thorough assessment of me and provided me an awesome workout plan. What I love is when I walk in the door I’m greeted with such friendliness. Other local gyms smelled like BO and didn’t have a good air conditioning system.

This fitness location has been unwilling to cancel my wife and I's membership. We are military who PCS'd off Oahu last month. On 14 Sep, we gave our Official Orders to one the staff members who took a photo of it, took our key fobs, and said she would pass our cancellation over to the manager. I called on 26 Sep to follow up and emailed my orders again. The manager, Kai, said he would cancel our membership, but I never received any confirmation. I spoke with Kai over the phone twice, he confirmed he had our orders and that we would receive email confirmation (we still haven't). We have yet to receive an acknowledgment of any of our emails. I also called Anytime Fitness corporate, who stated only the local gym controls memberships and to work directly with them. My wife Tiffany and I are still being charged membership fees as of 4 October. I feel I may ultimately have no recourse but to pursue legal action against Kailua Anytime Fitness since I am stationed thousands of miles away, and they still have not responded. I would be happy to avoid that if we receive confirmation that our memberships are canceled, but there may be no other options if we keep getting charged.

The moment you walk in the gym you are welcomed with a friendly smile by the manager, Kahekili and the staff. The gym is very clean, and Amanda (personal trainer) is very helpful on finding an exercise program that works for you. I like how the gym is not too crowded. The impression I get from the members is that it is a very tight community. Meaning they look after each other like family. Being at Anytime Fitness is one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Decent gym, but not worth a membership. It’s impossible to cancel service. I moved from the island last year and have called on several occasions since March to cancel my membership. Even though the staff and management at this location assured me they would cancel the membership, I’ve had to dispute the charges every single month. Gym's amenities are fine. Kind staff but totally unresponsive management. You would think a manager would know how to check and respond to email, but I guess not. This is now the second manager since I became a member, and they're 2 for 2 on people who apparently don't know how to use a computer.

I've been trying to cancel my membership as I am moving off island. Heard about the 30 day cancellation policy and proof of moving (weird), and provided everything 45 days out of my moving date. Still haven't heard back from anyone.

The gym is located in a business center with little parking, and the landlord uses a towing company (VIP Towing) that will literally wait around the corner to get a call from the landlord, who has someone watching cameras in the parking lot around the clock. If you park and leave the lot for any reason, your car will be towed to Sand Island within 5 minutes, regardless of your Anytime membership. Don't get towed and give your money to these people.

Despite paying more than $300 to retrieve my car once (I walked across the street to get a coffee after my workout), and sticking through with my membership when the AC was broken for 4 months during the summer, management at Anytime Fitness Kailua will not do me the service of responding to an email.

This branch is awful. No response to any kind of inquiry. Months without air conditioning. I finally moved over to Honolulu Anytime which is fantastic. So sad they treat their customers so bad in a small town like Kailua.

UPDATE: Don't you love the response from the owner? "Please contact us directly so we can address your concern and work towards a resolution!" This is what 90% of the bad reviews are talking about, they don't reply except on google! They have my name, they can contact me if they cared. The canned response is indicative of their apathy towards their customers.

UPDATE: Apparently if you freeze your membership it pushes your contact date back so now I have to wait 4 additional months to cancel my membership. Save yourself the headache and go over to literally any other gym. Anytime fitness has been the worst gym experience I’ve ever had. I wish I could give negative stars.

The A/C has been down for months despite the monthly fee remaining the same. It got so bad that they had to close the gym during peak sunlight hours. It's not "anytime" fitness at that point.

They also switched to a bi-monthly fee. This means that 2 months out of the year, you pay 3 separate fees. That's like paying for an imaginary 13th month of gym access every year.

When trying to get some money back and cancel, they said that I was contractually obligated to give 30 days notice.

Contractually, they're supposed to be open "anytime". At best we're both in violation. At worst, they're charging more money for fewer services, and rendering their business name an oxymoron.

- attempting to cancel a month to month membership is an uphill battle ( Here's a word for word text from a customer service representative, "The only way to cancel is through a medical note, moving, military orders with proof of relocation ( bill or new drivers license )."

- See pic. Anytime fitness representative came out 15min after our scheduled appointment to cancel my daughter's service ( smoking ). As I approached they went inside and did not answer the door.

Bottom line: The worst customer service I have ever experienced. ( I am not one to leave bad reviews and always try to find the silver lining - refer to my yelp profile )

Pro, I am glad some individuals have joined and are working towards personal fitness goals. Be warned and expect little from the anytime fitness representatives.

Well we thought… Turns out the gal typed in my husband’s name wrong when submitting the cancellation request, and canceled someone else’s membership. My husband and I were avid lovers of Anytime and have been members at different Anytime gyms throughout multiple states and I have got to say this is the dirtiest anytime I have ever been to. Dust fell from the ceiling on me while doing abs in the ab room. There were never any cleaning supplies available and people are constantly barefoot.

We tried cancelling our memberships multiples time and due to the lack of management it took over a month to get ahold of somebody and countless times going into the gym to track someone down. We were then charged twice after we cancelled our memberships.

Do yourself a favor and go to UFC.

I’m not shocked that I’m back AGAIN for a third time to say I was contacted on 2/7/23 by phone from someone named Heidi stating that she was personally taking care of my refund and I should receive it in 3-5 business days (this is the second time since December that I was told this). Of course, no refund has been processed - just like before. I see other people are struggling with this in the reviews & I highly recommend smalls claims court. Seems about to be the only way to get this business to realize how poor its professionalism continues to be. I would give zero stars if I could.

To follow up on my review from a month ago - I was finally emailed back on 12/30/22 that my membership was cancelled & I was would receiving a refund. I followed up on 1/19 & 1/29 since the refund has yet to be deposited & of course no communication from AF Kailua. I stated in my review (found below) that I would be willing to delete my poor rating once all of this was corrected but over a month later with no luck & communication (again) my review stands. At this point I have pushed for Small Claims Court as this seems to be a concurrent issue with this establishment. So disappointed in this business.

"In October I submitted my PCS orders to AF to leave Hawaii & move back to the Carolinas. I was told my contract would be terminated, I would receive a cancellation email & no further charges would come out - except for in October. After two weeks of not receiving an email I tried to reach out. I left two separate voicemails & I also emailed. I noticed a charge from AF posted in November so once again I tried to contact. Upon having no luck like before I contacted the billing inquiry # on the website. I was told they couldn't help me because AF Kailua is privately owned and the only way it could be resolved was to contact them. I have sense gotten multiple recordings of their phone ringing then going to a full voicemail or just going straight to voicemail. I have also reached out through the website and on facebook. At this point I feel like I have no choice but to seek legal action as another charge has been posted to my account. If someone would like to refund the charges & cancel my contract I would be happy to delete this poor review."

My husband and I have been trying to get ahold of these people to cancel for months, after reading reviews it seems like its an ongoing struggle for many people. Phone always goes straight to voicemail, voicemail box is full, and no email responses. Real unfortunate to be paying so much for something you aren’t using.

If you do choose to sign up here its a nice gym but sign up through their website, not in person. Otherwise they’ll say you have to pay a $150 sign up fee per person. Which is advertised and set up differently on their website

I injured my knee 2 years ago putting on crutches and with the pandemic happening at the same time I didn’t get out of the house much and gained some weight. I was searching for a gym to go to and found Anytime Fitness in Kailua. I absolutely love the gym and everyone who works there is super kind and helpful. I also love they way monthly payments are set up. Makes it easier for those who can’t afford it all to come out at once. 18 year old me would’ve appreciated it so much! They have 24 hour access, and I feel safe going at night even without staff there. There’s security cameras everywhere which is what helps me feel safe. Also the bathrooms and showers are AMAZING! I’ve never showered at a gym before but I would definitely feel comfortable showering at their gym. Highly recommend them 10/10!

My wife and I visited this gym in December. very poor selection of cardio, stair steppers is many years outdated. The reason for my poor review is there was a member that was walking around with his shirt off, just poor etiquette and bad manners. The things that came out of his mouth was also incredibly bad. I messaged management and no one even took the time to say something back. This type of behavior is unacceptable and I am very surprised women would work out with this type of member allowed in.

Small gym. Has everything you need for bodybuilding. They also have a yoga room to stretch and whatnot. Two complaints about this place is the parking and how packed it gets. You will not find parking at around 3pm-7pm.

During this same time, you will have a very hard time finding a workout in, especially if you want to use the squat cage, because it gets really packed.

Then right after their grand opening, our daughter became seriously ill where I was unable to go and they would not stop or pause my membership nor refund me. That’s when only their business minds came out and not their heart for people or community. I was unable to stop my membership without an early termination fee at a ridiculous amount. So, they continued to take $63/month away from the medical bills and needs for my daughter just to put in their pocket. Due to all of this I have been extremely disgusted to even want to step foot in there to use my forced upon membership. At least my wife got to put hers on hold at 24-Hour fitness with absolutely no penalty. She pays 1/2 if what I pay and they showed her compassion.

Amazing and super friendly staff. Very clean establishment and a great variety of equipment. It's usually not very busy and it was reasonably priced for a group weekly membership. Would definitely recommend if you're a local or just visiting!

I love this gym and the coziness of it! There is no fluff and you can go for a good workout then head home. The gym is close to the bus stop and you can walk to Kailua town center. I only bike there, but be warned that parking is pretty scarce. The gym is super clean! The staff is extremely friendly and the prices are good. I would choose this over other fitness locations in the area.
