About the Club

Karo trains all fitness levels from beginner to intermediate, specializing in helping people with pre-diabetes, Type 1, and Type 2 diabetes improve their health through fitness and nutrition. As a Type 1 diabetic, Karo understands the challenges involved and has helped many clients lower their A1C, lose weight, and build lasting healthy habits. Workouts are designed to be safe, effective, and sustainable while empowering clients to train confidently on their own. Training is offered online as well as in-person for clients in the Honolulu area, including Kakaʻako, with travel available if needed.

Training with Karo has honestly been one of the best choices I made for myself. I originally just wanted to grow my glutes, tone up, and be consistent, but she gave me so much more than just workouts. She always checks in on me, corrects my form, and even reminds me about eating right so I actually see results.

What I love most is how encouraging and fun she is. Training with her never feels intimidating, she makes it motivating. I’ve noticed a difference not just in my strength and body, but in my confidence and lifestyle too. She genuinely cares, and it shows in the way she celebrates your wins with you and pushes you when you need it. I have never been athletic, and had never exercised regularly, until I started working with Karo. She's made going to the gym consistently possible and accessible even for a chronic couch potato like me. She's always got your back, and is always so encouraging and so sweet.

Karo is an incredible trainer, and I honestly can’t recommend her enough! I started training while dealing with some medical issues, and she’s always really attentive to how I’m feeling, adjusting workouts to fit my energy and needs. I’ve felt so much stronger, both physically and mentally, since working with her.

She checks in throughout each workout, keeps things positive, and makes it easy to stay motivated. She’s also flexible and works with me even when my schedule changes, which is really great and keeps me on track. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about her clients and goes above and beyond!

When my A1C hit 9.8, I knew it was time to get serious and make a complete lifestyle change. I used some savings to hire a trainer. It was so worth it. Karo not only helped me with my workouts, but she also helped me improve my diet and day-to-day lifestyle as well as set reasonable goals each month. It helps having someone who understands the challenges I have with diabetes. Also, she constantly motivates me (without shaming me) to keep consistent with my diet and exercise.

I have been training with Karo for 16 months, and it’s been the best investment I could have made. I feel stronger, fitter, and healthier than I have in decades. Karo is an amazing and inspiring trainer. As someone in their 50s, I found that there were some exercises I couldn’t even do because of muscle imbalances (and tightening over the years). Karo tailored exercises I could do to strengthen my problem areas, and taught me various stretches to increase my flexibility so I could eventually do the right workouts I needed.

Within 8 months, my A1C went from 9.8 to 6.3, I lost 35 pounds, and I was able to halt the weekly shots I had been taking. Today, I still don’t need to take weekly shots (though I still take oral medication) and my A1C is 6.1. I not only kept off the weight, I lost another 20 pounds.

Karo helped me conquer all those hard times, for example, when I got off my weekly shots, she worked with me to make sure I didn’t falter with my weight and my A1C.

I used to think I could do it all without a trainer, but I know now that I would not have had the success I’ve had without Karo. She helped tailor workouts and diet for my specific goals (and body type). I wouldn’t have had the knowledge to do that on my own.

Karo is also very considerate of my budget and always considers the best way she can help me with the budget I have. She’s tailored workouts for me to do on my own (at the gym and at home, as I avoid the gym when its crowded). She also makes sure I understand the workouts I’m doing.

I highly recommend Karo for anyone looking to improve their health, fitness, and lifestyle.

Easily the best money I've ever spent on my health. Karo will push you to your edge so that you can achieve your own goals and get stronger - but always with absolute kindness and zero judgement. Super tailored training and always prompt and on top of things. Big focus on education so you can one day function without her... But you will probably want to keep seeing her even after you know what you're doing bc she's so motivating and lovely to train with.

I started working out in August last year. And for someone who has never been to the gym these last 6-8 months there is no looking back. Karo has been nothing but amazing. I love the way she encourages me to bring out the best in me. She focuses on small changes and keeps challenging me to do the best. I've trained with Karo for about two years (time really flew by) and it's been incredible! I started training with her in person when I lived in Seattle because I took a really long break from exercising over the pandemic and nothing was getting me motivated to work out on my own. And it really has made a difference! Training sessions are challenging for sure, but I always see progress with muscle toning and strength growth!

I've moved a little while ago but still am continuing training with Karo virtually and she really makes the workouts fun! She really cares for her clients and will be there for whatever you need in your fitness and health journey. 100% Recommend!
