Large weight area, cardio area, 2 full size bball courts with group areas upstairs. 4 cable cross machines plus squat racks. Good gym. Not too busy in am. Small area to stretch and do core.

It's a good gym, the problem is the people. No one puts plates away where they go, they're all just mix'n'match and the employees really stress about the "no bag" rule but don't care about any of the other rules oddly enough. Not advocating more more rule enforcement, I would just like to have my bag like a normal gym. They also kick everyone out at close and make you scan in for after hour access.

This is the best base gym on island . The only thing is the cleaner makes the floor very. Wet during the hours. While people are working out and trying to walk to get to exercise cardio machines. They are constantly in the same area. Some one going to fall . The more will get sued. It that happens. There shouldn't be mopping when there are a lot of people in the gym. They clean the same are about 3 times. In 30 min.

Their 24 hour scanner never works. So when you wake up early, head on base and find itโs OOC, tough shit. Edit: as of NOV25 this shit still happens

Nice but totally insufficient. Clean facility and the gear is decent, but in usual base gym fashion there's not nearly enough of it. Good luck getting a workout in if you lift.

Solid gym that has everything you need and is convenient, but their machines break and they rarely fix them, most of the staff seems like they don't want to be there (you're working at a gym, it doesn't get much better or easier as far as jobs go), and no sauna. I'd give 5 stars if they fixed their machines and if staff even just said hi or have a good day or workout anything.

Okay gym with decent amount of equipment/machines. Only issue is the common strict house rules like not bringing bags on the floor, dress code, etc. Noticed they only have power bars so Olympic lifts aren't ideal here.

Clean, well maintained. Has short term lockers (for use during visits only, not long term), bathrooms and showers, cardio, free weights, and cable machines as well as personal trainers and classes. There is also a basketball court. Sometimes there is some cardio equipment being reserved, but only when units are conducting annual fitness tests. Volume of patrons varies throughout the day and when ships pull in/out of port.

The gym itself is good. But you telling me I cannot workout in uniform ? The uniform is a government issue. I was not wearing anything inappropriate i was my uniform and took the top off to work out, and the guy at the desk told me NO I could work out in my uniform bottom. At first, i thought he was being racist but when I went to Shafter or TAMC or Schofield, I worked out in my uniform. It is already hard to work out after hours now we cant workout in uniform?

The cardio, sled drag, and strength equipment are all crowded into one Bay Area with little space between machines. Additionally, there is only one lat pull-down cable machine in the entire gym. A few of the machines are out of service. This gym needs revamped.

Rude/ unaccommodating employees.
Came in with a small fanny pack & was told that I needed to lock it up & that bags were not allowed on the gym floor. Explained it was for medical purposes but per employee it didnโt matter what the bag was for. Never been turned away due to medical needs. Thereโs always a first for everything.

Love the base fitness center. It's clean, the staff are friendly, and there is a lot of variety in fitness equipment. There are some issues with some of the machines, which are allowed to stay in use with unsafe conditions at times. Also, paper towels at multiple locations within the gym run out, which results in some folks not cleaning off their machines after using them.

I love how big and clean this fitness center is but itโs ALWAYS crowded. I find myself waiting for machines or trying to find places to workout. Even though they have a lot, itโs still difficult.
Staff is really friendly and thereโs plenty of stations with wipes.

Good fitness center. I went for the 2 years I was stationed there and before the last 8 months or so of my tour, they had a hard time keeping the equipment in good working order. Since then, it's been much better. Surprisingly, especially considering how nice the facilities are, there was no sauna or steam room.

The staff (especially management) are shady and weird
One of the male janitors would "clean" equipment and stare or watch me which makes me feel super uncomfortable to work out so sadly I don't plan to come back which is unfortunate because I like how the gym is spacious with A-C.

Itโs very packed during the day so I go after hours typically. Itโs great when the door scanner actually works, but currently it doesnโt unlock the door. The scanner is still quite new too.
Going to the gym on the other side of base at night isnโt really an option either since I donโt have a car.

My family and I really enjoyed our time at JBPHH fitness center. As guests we could only visit on the weekend, but the facilities were clean and the attendants were friendly and informative. ๐โ๏ธ **MILITARY VET TAKES THE PLUNGE: My Trident Scuba Adventure!** โ๏ธ๐
๐ฅ **Background**: As a seasoned Army Special Ops Medic, I dove headfirst into Trident Adventure's waters, aiming to conquer the depths and emerge as a certified Dive Master. Zero dives to Advanced Open Water, here's the real scoop!
๐๏ธ **First Splash**: Anchored at Aloha Tower, my mission began with a mix of high hopes and choppy seas. The deck was set, but the compass spun with variable class times and a maze of parking. Ready to navigate the unpredictable? #DiveLife #MilitaryPrecision
๐ **Mission Briefing**: Charted course straight from PADI's playbook โ a solo recon mission in self-study. My first dive? Like a night op without NVGs. Confusing? Yes. Thrilling? Absolutely. #NoGuideNoProblem #SelfTaught
๐จโ๐ซ **Crew Readiness**: Instructors with sea legs, but teaching like unpredictable currents. Needed to draw on my own tactical training to breach the surface. #AdaptAndOvercome #LearningOnTheFly
๐งโโ๏ธ **Hands-On Deck Drills**: Training hit like a squall - sudden and intense. Built my dive reflexes, but where was the slow and steady? #SinkOrSwim #InstinctOverInstruction
๐ ๏ธ **Gear Check and Conduct**: Top-notch kit with a crew that knew safety. But loose talk about shipmates? That's a no-go in my logbook. #SafetyFirst #TeamIntegrity
๐ **Personal Ops**: I tackled uncharted territories, boosting my confidence to navigate undersea landscapes solo. Came out battle-hardened and dive-ready. #PersonalGrowth #UnderwaterWarrior
๐ข **Calling All Recruits**: I salute vet-led operations, but this one? It's a mixed bag. My advice: scan the horizon for all available dive teams. I'm charting a course for new waters with a different crew. #VetBiz #ContinuingTheMission
๐ **Overall Rating**: Middle of the buoyancy scale โ 5/10. Trident Adventure, you've got the potential to rule the seven seas, but let's tighten up the ship, aye? #DiveWithHonor #AlwaysImproving
๐งญ **Navigator's Tip**: For my fellow vets looking to take the dive through the GI Bill, there's a sea of options. Keep your periscope up for the best ops training command out there. I'm not done yet โ the quest for the Dive Master badge is still on! ๐ดโโ ๏ธ
#DiveMasterMission #SpecialOpsDiver #ScubaJourney #ReviewTheDive
I'm leaving three (3) stars as JBPHH is sponsoring this program. It was not vet friendly or mental health friendly. Stressful and unpredictable. You can contact me if you would like specific information.

Honestly this could have been a really nice gym. When I was here in 2022 it seemed like it was doing well but since the itโs deteriorated rather quickly. The showers were never hot or even warm, all of them leak and/or make this horrible squealing noise. One shower I used last summer I went back to today and it was still the SAME as if no problems are being addressed. The equipment is squeaky and rusty which you could expect from an outdoor gym but itโs not. It even lacks in the basic stuff like having a iron in the locker rooms. It is a military gym after all, sometimes people need to iron their uniforms before work after having them in a duffle. All in all, with better management it could be a great gym!
Pros are that the bathrooms are relatively clean, the showers do have quite a bit of grout mold but the sinks and toilets are always cleaned well.

Clean but ALWAYS crowded.
It smells new and clean and has good ac. Not musky, damp, and moldy like other gyms. Has lockers and lock boxes. The atmosphere is actually nice. And it is in very close proximity to the Childcare Development Center if the kiddo goes there. However, it is always way too crowded no matter what time I go! Do you plan on using the Stairmaster? Donโt go, itโs always taken. Always. It looks deceiving big, but itโs just because the ceilings are high. There actually not that much choice of equipment.
Sucks because itโs in such a convenient location!

First time going to this gym, Iโve lost weight so my pants and top were shifting. Lady asked me to not show my midriff (as my sweater was covering it). Note: i was doing jump rope! I said are you serious! White girl comes in showing her midriff and not told anything!!!! Seriously ! First and last time Iโll ever come here! This is the number one reason why I opted for outside gyms. Manager was not understanding of the situation, nodded and smiled as if this was a joke. Educated your employees to be mindful!

Its crazy to me how they turned away my 12 year old and I even though my son has their youth fitness card that he got last weekend but he doesn't have a military ID card (just turned 12 last month) and it's 2:40 pm on a week day. So he is considered a guest and not a dependent according to the lady at the front.. It's just wild to me because I had my ID and his fitness card. Who does that to a child? There was no one at the gym. Please call and try to make a ID appointment. Last time I called they told me to call back next month because they didn't have any appointments available. I don't expect them to allow this everytime but obviously I wasn't aware of the RULE and they could have shown some Aloha and let him workout today since we were there but no I guess that would have been to much.

Beautiful facility that is extremely under utilized. I have spent more time doing cardio than lifting weights due to the vast amounts of people they let in to a too small of fitness area. It is routine to see people standing around waiting for machines or racks areas to become open. There are not enough bars for all the squat racks and benches. Recommend better management, would rather they limit the number of people let it if it ment not waiting 10 minutes for every machine.
Staff is very friendly, overall facility could be run better. This is not due to Covid protocols. This is due to poor layout and being overcrowded.

Gym is always packed, as all gyms in Hawaii are due to high population in small area. Thereโs not much equipment for your basic lifts (bench, deadlift, squat) so if youโre a dedicated traditional lifter then this probably isnโt the place to go, unless you donโt mind waiting 10-20 min for people to finish their set at the stations. However this gym does have a lot of other things that crossfitters use so thatโs good I guess
