Absolutely awful experience dealing with the management here. The coach was kind, but the people running this place are cold, rigid, and completely lacking in empathy. When my child stopped wanting to attend, instead of showing a shred of understanding, they hid behind their “policy” like robots. I was polite and gave notice, but they insisted on charging for next month anyway — no compassion, no flexibility, nothing. It’s honestly disgusting how little they care about families or basic decency. I’d never recommend this place to anyone who values kindness or respect.

We absolutely love Oahu Gymnastics & Ninja! The coaches are so warm, encouraging, and truly great with kids. Our daughter looks forward to every class and has grown so much in confidence, strength, and coordination since starting here. The environment is fun and positive, and the balance between structured skills and free movement keeps things exciting for the little ones. We’re so grateful to have found a place that feels like a second home. I highly recommend to any parents looking for a supportive and energetic space for their keiki to thrive! 🌈🤸♀️🌺

My daughter has been with OGN for one year. She absolutely loves the coaches and her peers. The gym is nicely set up to watch your child during their classes. Parking is easy. It's been a great experience for our family.

We’ve been part of the OGN community for 2+ years and can't say enough good things about the recreational classes, events and the competitive gymnastics team. My daughters have not only improved in strength and technique but have also gained a newfound confidence that extends beyond the gym. I appreciate how the coaches balance a competitive spirit with an emphasis on personal growth, teamwork and fun. They are incredibly encouraging and create a positive environment that fosters not just athletic development but also meaningful friendships among the gymnasts. The camaraderie among the girls is inspiring; they cheer each other on, celebrate individual and team successes, and foster an environment where everyone feels valued and supported. We are so happy to be part of such a positive and encouraging gym ‘ohana! Highly recommend!

My daughter is a member of the OGN gymnastics team and it has been one of the most positive experiences of her life. The coaches are so sweet and caring and the camaraderie between the girls is unprecedented. I highly recommend trying a class or getting your daughter involved on the team. It's a really special experience.

The gym is very clean and the staff is quite kind. The owner was very kind enough to allow my niece a make up class after a family emergency.

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. My daughter has been attending the “Mommy and Me” classes on Saturdays for the last 6 months or so. She loves it. She talks about “‘nastics” all the time.
We look forward to continuing at this gym and transitioning her to Tumble Tots once she turns 3.

Google sent me a notice saying my review helped 2 other people. And our credit card reimbursed us. Due to evidence, dispute in our favor. It's always the other person right Oahu gymnastics? A good place doesn't have bad reviews period...I am the husband. We never watched your pathetic classes before the first time we were there. Maybe just walking by. Prove it? The only reason you are not a 0 star is because you keep having your friends provide good reviews. Look at the most recent the poor reviews trend continues. Then by some miracle you get a 5 star. Suspicious. This place is a joke. It's seems like they are just trying to keep their doors open. I spent time observing so called classes and the coaches seem like they don't want to be there. Look at how many recent 1 star reviews there are. Got to be some truth to that legend. We changed our minds after observing the classes. We didn't even attend one class and they refused to issue a refund. What does that say about the overall status of this place. That they can't afford to refund because they won't be in business. Do you really want to waste time at a place that won't be there tomorrow?

Wish I could give this place no stars. But I can’t. They are rude. Can run a simple business structure like picking up the phone. And the tutor is also rude. Definitely wouldn’t trust them with my child. Good luck to you if you do.

This place is so wonderful! My daughter absolutely loves her gymnastics class and coaches and my son has so much fun at Ninja. The gym is kept clean and the equipment is so nice! I love how in both my children’s classes there is structure and fun combined, so I feel like they are really learning rather than just playing around the whole class. I can see them both progressing each week and they leave class feeling excited to return for next week! I definitely recommend OGN!

My sons attended ninja class at OGN for the past 3 years. Coach Rick and Coach Luis were both *fantastic* at introducing parkour skills ~safely~ while also developing positive self esteem in an emotionally healthy environment. We felt so lucky to have found this gem, and my boys progressed rapidly in both their skills and confidence levels under these coaches! They *LOVED* ninja and started doing parkour moves pretty much any time they weren't sitting!
This is what makes it so bittersweet that they have finished their last classes at OGN and moved on to another facility. Their beloved coaches left, and new management decided to revamp the ninja program. Unfortunately, the new coach was clearly not trained in how to work with kids. His authoritarian style of coaching was toxic, at best, and he used shame and punishment as motivators for the kids. He shamed my son for using the bathroom during class and loudly accused him in front of his classmates of going to the restroom to get out of physical activity. He yelled at kids who tried to get a drink of water when he hadn't indicated it was a break time. He set up an unsafe stunt and when a smaller kid fell while attempting to perform the maneuver, the coach laughed, even when it was clear the child was hurt (or feigned being injured because he was embarrassed) - either scenario should be met with compassion. If one kid in the group couldn't do an exercise for an arbitrary amount of time, the coach would punish the entire group by adding more time. Most of these kids were under 12! Isn't the point of these classes for kids to have fun, learn some skills and make friends in a positive, supportive environment? As someone who is certified in trauma-informed child instruction and well-versed in emotional abuse, I had to walk away from the fence far too many times during a class because the coach's methods were egregious, and I don't think he even realized how psychologically damaging his tactics were. Here we are trying to teach our kids to pay attention to their bodies: rest when you need to rest; drink when you need to drink; use the restroom when you need to. And then they have a coach who shames them or yells at them for doing any of these things.
The entire last month of classes my youngest son attended no longer even resembled a ninja class. Warm up/stretches now took 25 minutes; they jumped up and down on a mat in the back corner of the gym for 10 minutes; they spent the next 15 minutes working on *ONE* ninja skill, where they stood in line waiting for their turn during most of that time; then they played dodgeball for the last 5 minutes. Another child's parent and I both timed the segments for a few weeks and compared notes because surely they were spending more than 15 minutes learning ninja skills in a $30 ninja class!!! She disenrolled her kids as well.
We are sad to leave OGN and all the positive memories, but we're happy to have found a better ninja experience (and at a lower price!).
Edited to add a response to below: We did reach out to OGN regarding our concerns. Much like the responses to this and other negative reviews, our concerns were largely minimized, explained away and dismissed.

My daughter loves her classes here. They are doing a excellent job helping her learn the techniques. The new management is doing a fantastic job. Highly recommended.
The camps are also great. We’ve attended a few and had good experiences.

My 5-year-old daughter had a wonderful experience at Oahu Gymnastics and Ninja's summer camp. We were visiting the Kailua to check out relocating to the area. She attended one week of camp but loved it so much, we enrolled for a 2nd week. The facilities are clean, the staff are welcoming/kind, and my daughter looked forward to her time at OG&N.

We had Coach Luis this past year who is absolutely amazing for the 6-8 year old ninja class!! Sadly he left, in his place is Coach Nema who is helping to restructure the program. He’s very condescending and overly stern to these young boys. He yells at them constantly. Sometimes they would stretch for 25 minutes in a one hour class and he would yell at them if they tried to talk to each other. It used to be such a fun place for them to learn climbing, jumping, swinging etc. But now my son cries all the way home when I pick him up because of the way he’s been treated at something he looked forward to the most. We are really sad to go. I recommended this place to everyone I knew last year. It used to be so much fun. But my son deserves so much better than this

My daughter loved her classes and it is unfortunate having to leave a bad review. I’m just disappointed in their lack of ability to make any exceptions to their “no refund policy” with the given circumstances. I reached out the same day tuition was due (first of the month & not even 5 hours after the money was withdrawn from my account) for a refund for that upcoming month because my daughter had not been attending previous classes the month prior and was not going to be going back for financial reasons and they basically said there’s nothing they could do about it. But as the business owner there is always something you can do & keeping the tuition for a student not attending is not it.
