So thankful planet fitness opened up in my neighborhood! Nice laid back vibe and friendly staff. Hate to sound greedy but I kinda hope they fly under the radar with this mall location. Fingers crossed it doesn’t start to get busy like 24 hr fitness.

Before the mall is open the entrance is next to longs drugs on the bottom floor. You go up the escalator/stairs and the gym is located under the food court area in “downtown”. Maybe some more signage might help to free up the phones ;). Mahalo to the workers

I'm going to be comparing this to 24-Hour Fitness. It's a nice addition to the mall and for surrounding neighborhoods. Unfortunately, it's one of the smallest gyms in the area compared to others like 24-Hour Fitness. Although it's still new, keep in mind that it could become extremely crowded in the future throughout the entire day even if you were to go in the morning. I've been going at 5am and there are usually already more than 10 people by that time. I went one time around 11am on a Tuesday, thinking it might not be crowded because people are at work and students are at school. Nope. There was still a lot of people.

So if you're thinking about cancelling your current membership in other gyms like 24-Hour Fitness, you're sacrificing it for a smaller gym with limited hours of operation.

For the men's locker room, it's smaller compared to 24-Hour Fitness. It's not as spacious, limited to only 3 benches and a small area of lockers. There are only 2 toilets for 'number 2' and 3 urinals. For showers, there are 3 (1 is for disabled people). There are two changing rooms (1 for disabled people) if you aren't comfortable in changing around others in the locker area.

There are definitely a lot of equipment, particularly for cardio exercises. Weights are fewer compared to 24-Hour Fitness. You won't find that many weights from plates and dumbbells to kettle bells.

There are only two squat rack areas. So if you want to use them, you better be prepared for when the time comes in the future that this gym becomes crowded.

The good things about this gym are the facts that it's in a mall so if you're working out during the hours of when the mall is open, you can head out to some store or restaurant to eat/drink. And, again, it's close to the surrounding neighborhoods. Those who are living close by don't even need to drive since you can just walk for a couple of minutes.
