When I found this location the young lady at the front desk was super helpful. I just moved from the mainland and we couldn't find my account. My phone has died so she lent me a charger that way I could sign in with my phone. I had a few other questions and she was so nice and helpful. The location is a little small for being right in the city center but I guess square footage is a premium when you're downtown, I get it. I was disappointed that the abs and stretch area does not have a stretch cage like every other location I've ever been to. Other than that it's a nice facility, clean and friendly just like I've come to expect from planet fitness. I'd rate it over all 7.5 compared to others I've been to on the mainland, this is the only one I've visited on Oahu so far.

OK, so These guys just replaced all their old equipment with new stuff and the place is killer. They even put in more machines and took out a row of ellipticals. The place is awesome. It was good before but it’s so much better now very happy with the gym and what’s going on over there!!! The staff is killer. Everybody is super friendly. It’s the best deal in town can be crowded sometimes but it’s better than any other planet fitness around. Thank you guys.

The STAFF are awesome always available to assist. It's gotten to be busier @ 5am than what I remember which is a turn off for me because I am impatient and HATE to wait for free weights or a machine. The good thing is they are open damn near 24/7 which in my case means I can get there at 4am instead of 5 am. New equipment is currently being installed which will add to its popularity.

Visited Honolulu for the week and used this facility. The equipment was very old, the staff only spoke to each other, and when I bought my tshirt, I was charged twice. Oh, and the locker room was always filthy. This place is in dire need of an upgrade.

I have never left a single review in my life but have to for this Planet Fitness. The manager is incredibly rude. I understand they have weird rules everyone has to follow (not taking shoes off to lift for example) but his approach towards enforcing these rules actually made me question if he was intentionally being an asshole or is just socially inept. A girl working out next to me literally talked to me about how rude he was. I cancelled my membership right then and there—no way I’m working out at a gym where you can’t take your shoes off, yet people are allowed to moan obnoxiously between each set. This place is embarrassing.

I tried to workout as a visitor from another state. But the guest pass from my health insurance did not work. The real good story started from this point. A front desk staff member spent time with me to explain how to take advantage of the Gold Membership campaign and walked with me step by step to upgrade my membership. I did not spend much money for the upgrade. His miracle help enabled me to workout at the gym! I should have asked his name to announce it to the whole entire world. Mahalo nui!

アラモアナ・センターの中にあり立地は最高です。バス停からも近いですし、近所にはウォルマート、サムズクラブを初めいろんなお店やレストランがあります。こちらのジムの売りはなんと言っても綺麗さ。常にスタッフが掃除をしている姿を見ることができます。オープンから９年ほど経っているため、微妙に壊れかかっているマシンもあったりするのですが、全体的に悪くないです。ただ、場所柄ものすごーく混みます。私たちは混雑を避けるためにあえてランチタイム前後を狙っていくのですが、これ以外の時間帯の混雑ぶりは結構なもので、お目当てのマシンやダンベルを待たないと使えないことはしょっちゅうです。一人で２、３セットのダンベルをキープしている人もいるので、その辺を注意してほしいなぁと思っているのですが、最近はマシンが空いていなかった時のためにマイ・レジスタントバンドを持参しています（これを併用して強度を上げる）。衛生的に気になる点は、会費が安いためかホームレスの人が頻繁にロッカールームで荷物をひろげてシャワーを浴びていることが多いこと。ジムで最後にシャワーを浴びてセッションを終わらせたい私にとってはマイナス要素です。

The staff is pretty busy on their phones and seem offended when you ask for assistance. A lot of lockers are broken suggesting break-ins, and the topper for me is that this is a gym worth millions that belongs to a company worth billions, yet this location can't install a filtered water refill station.... kind of pathetic to me.

The equipment is ok, the price is ok, the hours are good due to the competition and close proximity to 24 hr fitness. I would give this place a 2.5 if there was 1/2 stars.

This location is so bad, all the equipment is rusted out, half the adjustments are broken and don't work. The bathroom has one crooked soap dispenser and the over all cleanliness lacks attention. This location is so small for the amount of foot traffic it gets that it makes it impossible to get through any workout in a timely manner. all the areas are small and people are on top of each other. I don't necessarily care too much about the crapped spacing as I do the equipment literally falling apart. This location is definitely mismanaged or corporate has ignored its please for better equipment and maintenance. There's one machine where the AC constantly drips onto you as you work out. It's gross over all. This location needs to be seriously updated or moved and updated to a different location. The best two are the ones on opposite ends of the island. Those locations make you feel comfortable and there's not waiting for others that want to just sit on their phones for 20 mins to move off one machine but the drive is horrible for me either way. Kapolei would be a great location as well but this one needs to go before someone gets hurt. I gave it two stars because at least its open and I can get something worked in, but I always feel unsatisfied and angry at the state of it.

I give up. I will be canceling my membership here. This gym is entirely too crowded. And instead of adding more of the popular strength training equipment (benches, dumbbells and smith machines) they added obscure equipment that most people don’t want to use. If you don’t have 2-3 hours to do your workout don’t bother getting a membership here.

Way way way too crowded. Too much cardio equipment. Only 3 smith machines, no real benches or squat racks. Cheap membership but not worth waiting up to an hour just to use a pos smith machine.

Even when coming at off peak hours I’m waiting 30-40 min just to use a smith machine. Meanwhile there is plenty of open cardio equipment. It would also help if people wouldn’t do supersets with dumbbells while using the smith machines.

Honestly, the only reason I signed up here is because I live right next door. But some of the rules are just ridiculous. For example, they’re super strict about taking your shoes off in the stretching area—even when I’m doing leg workouts and feel more comfortable lifting without shoes. That shouldn’t be a big deal.

On top of that, you’re not even allowed to leave a small bag on the floor, even if it’s not a full gym bag. I don’t trust the lockers, so I carry a tiny bag with just my wallet and a few essentials, and I still get hassled about it. Meanwhile, other gyms like UFC have way better setups and aren’t this unnecessarily strict. Might as well cancel this membership and stick to my UFC.

Let’s be real—there are people that come here with ankle monitors, and y’all are stressing over a small bag on the floor?

I wish my local planet fitness members were as respectful as this location's. No one talking loudly on the phone, no loud conversations, everyone (I mean EVERYONE) cleaning up the machines after working out. Plus, it's opened 24 hours 5 days a week with SUPER friendly staff. Really enjoyed this place - stayed here for 2 hours, 2 times during my 9 day waikiki stay, and that's a lot during such a limited time stay.

This GYM is CLEAN! Plenty of cleaning stations. Staff knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I always see them cleaning around the gym and fixing the equipment. Locker rooms are spotless and well stocked. The 30 minute circuit would be better served with regular equipment because the 30 minute circuit rules are rarely followed which is VERY frustrating. Otherwise this place is WONDERFUL! I’ve already signed up one friend and always speak highly of this gym. The Black Card privileges are my reward for having a good workout!

Deliberately does not process cancellations, demands two forms of payment for a membership, and refused to let me even see the contract before signing up. Ask yourself, what other purchase do you make that requires your personal banking information in addition to a credit card? Even purchases of expensive jewelry do not ask for this. It is especially absurd for a gym membership where you pay in advance, they can deny you entry for non-payment at any time, and you are showing up in person every time you use the service; unlike other purchases they have nothing at risk. The only reason for this is to gain unrestricted access to your bank account, giving an extra opportunity to take your money after you cancel. Even for an industry replete with shady practices, Planet Fitness stands out as especially as especially scummy. Google before you join.

I’ve been to about 10 different Planet Fitness locations in the last 2 months, between California, Alberta and now Hawaii. This is the dirtiest I’ve seen yet. There’s months of dust bunnies and random things around the equipment. The floors are so dirty, it felt like doing pushups in the parking lot. Showers had clothes and towels left behind, bandaids and other random pieces of mystery. I wanted to wipe down my work area but there was no paper towel. This isn’t a reflection of the people working here. They were super. One was always working , trying to keep the place clean, while the other would be at the front scanning customers. This critique would be for the manager or owners. Get more people like you currently have. If you can’t afford it, it’s because no one wants to come to a dirty gym. Get some processes in place so your people have a system to keep on top of things. Your gym is gross. Your people are great.

This is a decent gym. Been going to planet fitness in another state for 17 years. I’ve been going to various gyms for the past 35 years and have experienced most gyms from muscle gyms to mostly cardio. This gym is a good balance.
The staff are probably the friendliest of any gym I’ve ever been to which needs to be acknowledged. Thank you for that.
I do think though that they need to at least double the number of stair machines, in addition to fixing the one or two that have been broken recently. With one broken one, and even when all 4 were functional, they are often fully occupied for long periods of time. Get rid of 4-6 of the elliptical which are never fully in use and add at least 4 more stair machines. With all of the hikes available on the island, this machine is the best at prepping for a hike or staying in shape.

Been going to this location since last year due to its proximity to my place of residence. I've noticed this location has gotten way busier. The main issue is the poorly maintained machines/equipment.
Most are old, rusty or broken, and torn leather on some machines. I've brought up the issue with the regional manager who assured me through email that they were going to look into this. I came back 2 months later, nothing has improved. Equipments are in the same poor condition or worse from the obvious wear and tear. I won't renew my membership when it expires. I don't recommend this gym to anyone.
I doubt emailing their social team would help much. There are many similar complaints dating back over a year ago but this seems to be their standard response. It's just lip service.
Nothing has improved. I highly doubt ownership or management will care enough to replace the old, rusted machines that aren't functioning properly. Moreover, they keep the temp at 75 degrees or higher. This facility isn't well ventilated. It smells in there. Vegas PF facilities maintain a comfortable temp inside with colossal ceiling fans! And the AC ducts leak and drip water on you from time to time. I didn't encounter a problem with the staff but this is literally the worst PF. I suggest you take a tour of the facility first before signing up for membership so you can see if the low ratings are warranted or just complete BS.

Everything about planet fitness was highly disappointing.
The manager and workers were very unprofessional, very discouraging and had a lot of bad mix ups with costumers(myself).
I was also being laughed at by a manager and worker for becoming a new member or as they said a " newbie ".
Manager there had a bad attitude and disrespectful.
ALLL of my questions were not being answered well by any of the workers or managers.
About 50% of equipment was not in good shape.

Their professionalism, knowledge, and hospitality let you know you are at the right gym. Emailed Planet Fitness multiple times about issues here but never heard a response, so it's a 1 star from me.

Issues:
1. Water dripping down from the ceiling in multiple places
2. Rusty equipment
3. Pin heads missing from many weight machines, so can't adjust seat heights/angles
4. Multiple elliptical machines don't work at all
5. 3 sinks in the men's bathroom but the left one hasn't worked for at least a month

Several of the cardio machines are out of order and have been for weeks. I had to buy a water as I had forgotten my water bottle and the POS system was down but there was no sign. I had no cash on me. They refused to let me have a water. I asked if they could make a note in my account, or if I could pay when it was up and working again and they said no….seriously, it’s just a water! I had to leave and go to the store and buy a water so I could workout.

I've visited at least 3 different PF gyms. They are pretty much the same. Some will give out eye protection for the Total Body Enhancement, some will charge for eye protection and others say you don't need anything...please don't take a chance, use it. Most have lockers so if you forget your lock, you have an option, some just need your own locks, no options. Some gyms know the 30 min circuit training is just that. Others, just use it as regular gym equipment...reps and all! Some tvs work, others don't.

With no animosity towards no body, the managment needs to find out ASAP what is going on in the massage chair area, the odor is like a corpse in decomposition. I went to visit the place , overall very satisfied, very nice employees, but I think the facility owner is neglecting some piping or pest issue, you cant stand there longer than 30 seconds. Don’t work out here. I’m from out of town and the person at the front desk told me over the phone that guest passes were five dollars. He failed to tell me that guest passes were for members of other planet fitness locations. He didn’t specify that they were not for Nonmembers. I get to location and the front desk guy now says it’s $20. I pay the $20 and then midway through the workout he notices I have flip-flops on. He tells me that I can’t work out there anymore that I have to get out. I asked for my money back and he says he can’t do it. He refuses to give my money back and I yell at him and he calls security and I get kicked out. He screwed me over.

Don’t waste you time coming to this gym. Barely any machines. All old equipment. Basics like smith machines and adjustable benches are limited. I’ve been to several planet fitness’s across the US and this is by far the worst. Everybody that comes here thinks they’re an influencer. Staff are very nice and helpful, BUT the equipment is aged and needs replaced. May be the leaking pipes above in several areas causing rust so bad you cant see the numbers on the weights. Sharp metal on a leg machine was exposed after paint loss and dug into my skin so bad I had to ask for tape to fix it which the staff member kindly let me do myself.

We stayed in Honolulu for a week and got memberships here. It was a bit expensive (55 dollars for a week), but that was the only negative side.

The gym was cleaned regularly, they had absolutely everything you would need for a proper workout (and then some) and the staff was kind, friendly and helpful at all times.

While there were certainly people at the gym, the place was huge. There was even a basketball court. We went in (almost) every day, once twice a day and never had any problems. Will certainly come back the next time we visit Hawaii.

I stopped my subscription in march and they took my money in April and May, I came to explain the problem 3 times and they told me that I will be refunded in 4-5 days. After 2 weeks still nothing I will have to come back again…. Worst experience

Today, on May 4th, my friend and I visited Planet Fitness around noon at Ala Moana. Prior to our arrival, my friend informed me that she had discovered a charge of $40 on top of her monthly membership fee of $24. She spoke with a clerk at the gym who explained that the charge was an annual maintenance fee for the gym equipment. I found this puzzling as she was already paying a monthly fee. I could not help but contrast Planet Fitness with 24-Hour Fitness, where the $24 monthly charge includes all amenities such as jacuzzi, pool, etc. and way bigger place, without any hidden fees. It was evident that despite the smaller size and lack of certain facilities, Planet Fitness was charging extra for maintenance. Has anyone else encountered a similar $40 annual fee at Planet Fitness? My friend has been a member for years and is unaware of any policy outlining this additional charge upon signing up.

It’s your typical planet fitness.
I will say it’s smaller than any I have been to. I went around 10:30am and it was so busy. I had to really adjust my workout to work around the availability of the weights and machines.
Only 3 smith machines and they were in use the entire time.
You can def get the job done here, but I’d go prepped with extra time.

This place allows homeless in the locker rooms, and the worker named Joseph said they “can’t discriminate” even though Joseph admitted the homeless drug addict is not a paying member or was he there to shower or workout. The drug addict was literally just staring at women walking into the locker rooms. (He could easily walk into the women’s locker room since there is no door) This location recently had a woman attacked with ACID right outside planet fitness by a homeless man, unbelievable. I feel completely unsafe going to this location. The worker even got upset with me for even being concerned! I cancelled my membership RIGHT AWAY.

Great location for me, especially since I live nearby. Workout areas and equipment are clean. I would have given 4 stars, but the bathrooms need to be maintained better. Women's bathroom could need a little more attention for cleanliness. Some of the toilets were disgustingly dirty (feces splattered along the toilet bowl), flooring in the bathroom stalls are sometimes wet from members who use it as a changing room after showering. Shower area has access water spread outside the shower stalls. Could possibly be dangerous for members that may slip.

Convenient location. Easy walking distance to the bus stops, shopping and the beach. I can finish a good workout with a walk and swim! All this is good.

Good overall staff customer service, however management want to review customer service training with few at the front desk.

By far, the worst-condition Planet Fitness I have ever been to. Machines are rusty, wobbly, rubber grips from handles are missing, and it is extremely crowded even outside peak hours.
