I've been going to Soul Fitness for over a year and a half. I've never EVER attended a gym nearly every week for this long. I'm aging, less fit, and an old back injury was starting to show up more often. I began private, one hour sessions with PK and found her to be incredibly knowledgeable, grounded, encouraging and kind. She has created a space you can feel comfortable in. She listens to your needs and in combining that with her years of experience, creates a program that works for the individual. In the year and a half I've been going, my back has not laid me out once! No lie. I'm stronger than I've been in years ! Soul Fitness is a wonderful, locally operated, woman owned establishment. You will not be disappointed. Promise.

Soul Fitness Hawai‘i is the BEST private gym on Hawai‘i Island.

I first came to PK after recovering from a car accident that had happened five years earlier, looking to strengthen my lower back—and I saw results immediately. Fast forward to the last few months: PK helped me lose 20 pounds, and I’ve been able to keep it off. Her nutrition plan, group workouts, and personal training were key to helping me reach that goal.

Her workouts are truly one-of-a-kind, and I’ve never loved exercising more in my life. PK doesn’t just teach physical strength—she helps build mental strength too. On top of that, the group classes are filled with some of the most supportive and inspiring people I’ve ever met.

I can’t thank Soul Fitness Hawai‘i enough for changing my life and helping me get my health back on track. If you want real results, Soul Fitness is the place to be. I can’t recommend PK and her services enough!

I am so grateful to have found PK! I desperately needed a good exercise therapist after having a significant cardiac diagnosis. I needed someone who could help me exercise properly and balanced with cardio and strength training. I tried her class in Keaau and was hooked! That was more than 5 years ago and thru many difficult times, PK has always been there for me. She modified exercises, sent me videos, and did private sessions. She motivated me, inspired me and supported me thru thick and thin. Now, after surgeries, I’m still with PK. I absolutely love her dedication to helping us!

I have worked with PK as my physical trainer for over 3 years now on and off. When She started working with me it was in a friend’s home (She didn’t want to exercise alone, and thought I would be a good challenge for PK because of my being disabled and having my own mobility impaired due to tumor damage to the lower spinal area. In fact I often walked with forearm crutches at that time.)

Anyway, PK didn’t “bat an eye” and she frequently showed me alternate moves when I could not complete a movement that she was using. I cannot say enough positive things about PK’s abilities to assist even someone who is mobility challenged to gain strength and movement in ways I thought impossible at the time. She is patient, flexible (emotionally and situationally, in addition to physically,) has a very positive attitude and is a great motivator. She has a wonderful sense of humor and genuinely seems to care about the well-being of her clients. In addition, I have found her fees to be quite reasonable and competitive.

I have rarely had as much fun (when attempting to suck a breath) while putting my body through such tortuous moves. She actually seems to love her work, and she is good at it! In fact I have essentially told her she cannot retire until I am “gone! (😎 Even though I am still relatively young!) Her classes are not only fun, but they appeal to a wide age range. She does not seem to be bothered by having “out of shape” elders join her classes, and she is very responsive to individual needs of those unable to “keep up.” I have never seen her embarrass anyone and in fact she is great at suggesting alternatives for people to try that will still improve muscle tone and movement at a proper level for them individually, especially if she observes several people struggling to do a given stretch or motion that she has us try.

On a personal note, I have been absolutely amazed by how much better my day to day life is since the first time she coached me and due to her patient endurance of me needing a few extra pointers and asking multiple questions (and needing exercises modified often for me to be able to participate.) I do not think that my overall improvement (in moving and walking abilities)would have been possible if I had been working with someone not genuinely interested (or less interested) in my own personal well-being. PK has simply coached me (on and off) through some individual and 2 person sessions from time to time, and in addition I have done her twice weekly 50 minute strength training classes either in class, in person, or via zoom (more or less regularly, but with sporadic attendance at times,) since I first met her at my girlfriend’s house. In addition to all of the prayers and Jesus’ healing in my life, I would say that PK has truly had a profound impact on my life since I met her. I am very grateful for all that she has ‘poured’ into my life!

I want to fully recommend you give PK and Soul Fitness, Hawaii, a chance if you are considering a worthwhile investment of your time, money and energy to improve your overall well-being! I am certain that if you choose to work with PK, you will find her classes and coaching sessions a great investment and will appreciate the returns you reap in your own wellness levels as well as simply having plain old fun while also improving your health!

My health journey started in 2019. It was a complete lifestyle change which included a change in my diet as well as adding more activity into my weekly routine. One of those added activities was PK's Circuit Saturdays. It was no walk in the park, but the energy and empowerment felt, being surrounded by strong, like minded women, motivated me to keep coming back. Motivated me to push myself and not give up. Next thing I knew, I added another one of PK's classes during the weekday, which also helped lower my stress levels and allowed me a space to find release during the week. I am proud to say that I started my health journey at 195lbs, unhappy, stressed out, no motivation, low energy and now, I am 155lbs, full of energy, I have a positive outlook on life, training to complete my very first full marathon(26miles) and excited for the "what's next?". Without having been introduced to this amazing opportunity, I am not sure I would be where I am today.
