For $79 + tax a month the gym in Lahaina is an absolute joke... No lockeroom, the bathroom is outside, and no showers what so ever even though if you google it before paying for a membership it tells you that there is a shower smh.. Definitely finding a different gym soon.. One with amenities that every gym usually has... Especially for the price.

We’d been excited to try this gym out, but our visit didn’t live up to expectations.
First impressions matter, and the entrance procedure was way too fiddly. You need to download the app, pair via Bluetooth, and hope it unlocks—getting it all synchronized took longer than it should have. The app itself was clingy and hard to configure, and our calls for help were met with dead ends and hang-ups. There was no backup for anyone unfamiliar with the system.
Once we finally stepped inside, the equipment options felt surprisingly sparse for the membership fee. The choices were few, and the whole layout gave off a “good enough” vibe instead of the energizing experience we were after.
The biggest letdown, though, was the vibe. After I let my friend in who did have a membership but we couldn’t get his app to work. We were greeted by an employee that was mad at us and after we explained that his app didn’t work and needed help logging in he said he doesn’t care and to just sign in, ignoring us when we asked for help.
This place has some perks for sure, but for us, the effort versus reward equation tilted the wrong way. If they tune a few more details, it could turn things around for future members. At the moment, though, it leaves us more drained than driven.

Just had an absolute rude encounter with the young girl working at the front desk. Came up to me with an attitude and said “you can’t be spamming your weights on the ground” I then said I’m using the rack because I’m doing rack pulls. She then proceeded to say “ well you can’t be slamming your weights” I then asked well how am I supposed to perform this exercise? Then stated “I don’t know but you can’t be spamming your weights!” And then proceeded to walk away. Great thought process here. If this is a constant problem. Pretty sure I’m not the first one to do it. Would have been helpful to provide a solution like “well we have some pads hidden in the corner that you can use” also not to mention she didn’t say anything to the power lifter who was stomping on the floor yesterday actually shaking up the place. I use this gym every time I visit my family and this was the rudest encounter ever.

Maybe more like 3.5 stars. It's very clean and good equipment too. Pretty good overall, but they need more adjustable free weight benches and maybe one fixed incline bench setup. There's plenty of space for them, and people take them across the room to the squat racks and smith machine. I end up waiting for the adjustable bench almost every time I go for push day, no matter which day of the week or what time of day. Otherwise, I'd give 5 stars.

I was looking for a great gym to supplement my workout routine away from home and this place popped up. Everybody seemed really nice from the lady that walked me around the gym to the people in the gym. Not a meat head gym although the equipment could say otherwise. You could do anything from stretching to cardio and powerlifting. This gym seemed like I was a member and I felt like I was at home. Not too busy and a very fair price if you did a week pass or more. I highly recommend going here over any hotel gym or chain. They also have multiple locations. I will be back next time I visit Maui. Mahalo

Very nice equipment overall and good hours. I normally work out planet fitness so my review is going off of that if you’re traveling to visit Maui and you’re looking for a quick place to workout it’s $15/day or $79/week. So kind of expensive considering I typically pay $20/ month but understand this isn’t a franchise. The front desk guys are very nice to help answer any questions.
The two biggest negatives I would say is that you have to go outside of the gym to access the bathroom, which is a very scary place. Do not think about changing in here. The sink water drains to a bucket that overflows on the floor. Tile is cracking everywhere and looked “scary”. I peed in a urinal and got the hell out of there. Lol
They have a weird check in and check out. Where were you go one way if you forget your keys then you have to go all the way around the building. Not a big deal but never been to a gym like that. Also as other,l have stated you can’t throw or drop the weights on the ground because there’s a business below, but that’s not a big deal For me.
I would give it 3.5 stars but that bathroom needs fixing!

I’ve had the pleasure of working out at both The Club Maui locations, and each offers a unique experience. The Kahului gym boasts an expansive layout with a vast array of equipment, providing ample space for any workout routine. It’s a premium facility that caters to serious fitness enthusiasts. On the other hand, the Lahaina location is where I spend most of my time. The staff here are incredibly friendly, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment. The gym is consistently clean and well-maintained, making every workout session enjoyable. Both locations offer short-term passes, and annual passes, which is perfect for visitors or locals looking to stay active. Whether you’re seeking a spacious gym with extensive equipment or a community-driven atmosphere, The Club Maui has you covered.

Great convenient gym!! really appreciate the short term visitor has passes that allow for both gyms on the island! Have all the essentials that the stupid hotel gyms never do- squat, racks foam rollers stretch cords kettle bells that go beyond 40 pounds- worth a visit if you’re missing your workout!
was able to use the location near the airport to get a shower in before my late night flight ! Always refreshing and appreciated!

For a small gym I found they have good selection of equipment, though that depends on your individual needs. Personnel are friendly & helpful, depending on your needs. Equipment in good shape & clean. Getting in and out is a hassle, especially if you need restroom. This perhaps a result of small club size & no front desk. Restrooms are outside of club, through one way back door, supposedly protected with access code. Men's restroom door was propped open & was very dirty, smelly, worst you could expect. Don't touch anything, definitely don't sit on toilet, get out asap. Return from restroom requires going back through security at front door. No showers. Prices are designed to bleed tourists as they are throughout Hawaii.

I like the gym. I just wish there were more accommodations for the price of membership. There isn’t many options from Lahaina to napili this is it. There are private changing rooms but no showers which is fine. There isnt many squat racks for those who care. The staff are friendly and the gym is well maintained. It gets busy at times so I’d suggest going earlyyy like when they first open. Or in the middle of the day when people are working lol. If you like to drop weights on the floor don’t go here. It is upstairs above other businesses. So we are to be mindful of that. Slow and controlled movements 🤙🏽 no slam balls! lol

Would be nice if they would cap the membership capacity. It's not fun when you go to workout and there's nearly 100 people. This gym is not big enough for that. It's also the only place in the world that hasn't figured out two-way door technology.

Owner is greedy and price is outrageous for little to no accommodation. Had my membership cancelled because I let my girlfriend in. I paid for a year in full and only got 6 months of membership with no refund of course, which is understandable. Due to the contract I signed. Keep in mind 80+ a month for a gym with no bathroom, no buddy passes, no private changing rooms, it’s too crowded. Wouldn’t recommend this gym to anyone. Buy ur own equipment if you live in lahaina.

This gym is okay. My only gripe is the AC not cold enough to really put effort into a workout, as others appeared to have mentioned on reviews about the AC. Seems to be ongoing. Maybe some fans should be considered around the gym.
Not being allowed to exit through the front door was confusing but its okay. Very minor. No biggie. 🤙
The biggest pro for me is the selection of equipment. It is great to see a decent size gym with variety of equipment and machines.
I rated this 3 stars as it is fair, but not perfect either. I hope this rating is use of being constructive because i believe every place should grow to be even better.
Thank you for sticking out for those that need a gym on west maui when it's needed most. Helps to relieve the stress post-fire
Edit:
Thank you for your response. $120k is a lot and is not the highlight to my review either. 🤙

Good variety of equipment and convenient location but felt very unwelcome there. The first time I went in I couldn’t get the door to open with the PIN code the lady working at the front desk came over opened the door and said it unlocked for you but you couldn’t figure out how to open it and was rude. I wasn’t going to go back but then I tried again and I walked in the door that was open and instead of just asking me to check in the same lady yells no at me as I’m waking through the door. I’ve never felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome at a gym. I wouldn’t recommend going there if you are looking for a friendly or accepting environment.

Like others have said, a very policed atmosphere. I got my membership cancelled for being a gentleman and holding the door open for someone. From my experience with other gyms if that is frowned upon the front desk associate would kindly ask not to do so and explain why. Instead I just got an email canceling my membership after being a member for 2 days. No refund was given for the remaining days on my membership. Gym is extremely overpriced, expect to pay 4 times more than your much nicer gym back home. Very warm inside no AC was evident. No restrooms or locker room which was interesting. No desire to be associated with Club Maui again.

Mix of Hammer Strength, Rogue, and Ivanko including this cool old Ivanko bar. Rogue GHD and Floor Glute. Seems to have several regulars based on the days and time I went. Had people using the space in the full rack for things like man-makers because that's where the mats are, so I had to wait to actually use the rack for the rack.

Abby and team are amazing and ultra friendly. stayed nearby for a week, and this place is a godsend for anyone who needs more than just regular hotel equipment. Deadlift, squat, and bench friendly (although because it's upstairs you can't drop weights, which is fine. Controlled negatives!) The place has great equipment and good condition, very well kept and clean.
The week pass was more than reasonable in price, and the whole thing was done on the website. The best part is once my week pass was purchased online, I immediately get my own door code. This is way better than other gym systems that require you to meet personnel at certain locations within a certain window. Oh and I almost forgot to mention, short-term passes give you access to all locations.

My wife and I joined the gym a while back. We used to go to Valley Isle but it is no longer. "The Club" is the only gym we thought to try on the West Side. I am sadly disappointed in the rude behavior of the woman who works at the desk. She seems to be nice to me and the men that work out there regularly, but for some unknown reason , she does not respect my wife or other women I have observed her interact with. We have shown gone out of our way to share the aloha with her. I believe the worker's name is Abbie? The men that work there are quite pleasant.
Together my wife and I pay for an overly expensive gym fee of almost $2000 a year. I would like to think that men and woman are welcome by the staff and the owner's who are also a couple.
I can afford the $, but I can not afford to watch someone treat other women in such a negative attitude.

The first two workouts I had here were fine. My last workout I was asked to stop benching because I had been on a bench for 30 minutes. Very unprofessional gym and I would not recommend it to anyone traveling to Maui.

I was skeptical at first, as every gym I’ve gone to in Maui in last 7 years has been really sub par; old equipment and Staphylococcus all over the unclean surfaces. This gym is the opposite of that....Super clean, modern and updated all around.
The Maalaea location is beautiful. My only complaint is that there isn’t anyone there...which for some is a good thing. I think it’s a tough location. If it was in Lahaina it would be very busy. Speaking of which, the new Lahaina location is coming soon, I hope ( I keep
Hearing opening dates, but they keep
Flying by). I hear it will be even nicer than the Maalaea location, which if true, will be the first proper gym on the west side of Maui. The temporary location below the construction of new gym is good enough for now. Great, friendly staff and new equipment.
This is the longest review I’ve ever written. Maybe I’m trying to avoid getting up and going to the gym...
