The only place where you are not allowed to work out if you don’t buy a towel, cancelled my membership!

Horrible experience. I used to go to UFC Kailua and everything was perfect, but I had to move to the Waikele location. I was paying $103 for my membership, and suddenly, when I joined Waikele, I couldn’t do anything because “it doesn’t cover.” On top of that, when I went there, the lady told me I couldn’t work out because I didn’t have a f towel unless I bought one. The staff there are not professional and definitely don’t treat members as well as the Kailua location.

There is an employee named Amber at UFC Waikele who is rude and unreasonable. She is blonde and wears glitter on her face. I recently renewed my membership and this was one of my first times back. I was unaware of the towel policy that she claims has been in effect since April but nobody informed me about it when I renewed my membership. She said I either had to grab a towel or purchase one and would not let me in even though I explained that I didn’t know and I would bring one next time. I also walked so grabbing one wasn’t a quick option. She said that it’s been a policy and signs are posted so I have no excuse not to know. I don’t understand why it’s such a big deal that she couldn’t allow it the one time. It is unreasonable that I have to purchase a towel to use the gym membership that I pay for. I have no other complaints about the gym and the rest of the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, but nobody wants to get turned away for not having a towel when trying to work out. Strange power trip by this employee. Nobody else cares.

This is the worst gym I have ever went to in my whole life . The staff and managers who work there are trash, rude , disrespectful, and mean . The facility is disgusting , dirty and not maintained . There is no AC . The change room , shower and toilets smell horrific and are dirty as hell all the time . I would call the safety health inspector on this place as it is the most dirtiest gym I’ve even been to . All of the workers , staff and managers should be fired

I will start about what I like about this gym first, I like this gym because they got child care most of them are really nice to my kid and adore my kid. I just wish they had more toys and more things to do in there but I can see more toys, more fight I can potentially cause. I had instance one of staff didn’t even call me or notify me when my kid had accident I had to find out on my own I asked them why she didn’t even tell me she said “oh I thought I texted you” it really rubbed me in wrong way. Because other lady pat (I think that’s her name) she would call me and send staff to look for me when my kid made accident so big difference. I already made complaint about that and I hope they fixed it.
I like gym in self in general, I like the set up, I like the recovery center, I like how it’s not too crowded everyone pretty much mind their business, I like to take yoga class here and there but I’m pretty sure I’ll cancel the class because do to my schedule I can’t make it to most of the classes

But here’s reason why I’m giving 2 stars
Is instance I had with couple of them other day. Most of them are nice some of them will make small conversation they are friendly they basically just doing their thing but there’s one particular thing that happened other day really rubbed me in wrong way. I usually check in with my phone number due to reason with my iCloud most of them have no problem typing up my phone number it doesn’t take that long but this one lady I think she’s Asian maybe in her 40-50 she kind of got rounder face with glasses (she have it off sometimes) she always give me attitude and roll her eyes every time I tell her I’m gonna check in with my number I ignored it few times because what ever but other day she asked me “why you don’t want the app, are you lazy ? “ I was kinda taken back when she asked me if I’m “lazy” why would she is so concern why I don’t have the app. I gave her short explanation (it was never her business in first place) she basically rolled her eyes and said “ok enough” like she wasn’t the one who asked me why I check in with my phone number. Kinda rubbed me in wrong way. Other staff don’t really got problem of me checking in with phone number they just go with their say but this one particular person always got attitude and some kind of problem. This wasn’t my first run in with horrible customer service from UFC. The second time was my second time was when I walked in to the gym this blonde lady basically came at me aggressively asking me where’s my towel I was confused because that was my first time ever someone asking me about towel letting alone asking me aggressively I said I don’t have one ? And she replied to me “well you need it or you can’t work out you can purchase one for $12” so I had to go back to my car and find any towel that I had so I walked back in and she asked me aggressively again “show me” I was like well damn lady lol no one ever tripped that hard over damn towel. At this point ufc waikele need mass meeting or mass hire because there’s some rude “customer service” people. Only reason why I go to this gym is because they got child care and child care people are decent people to look after my kid and gym set up in general but they definitely need to re train some staff there for sure.

UFC waikele
I normally go to UFC mililani - LOVE the staff there everyone is amazing and so sweet . And the gym is always clean . They aren’t mean there lol

UFC Waikele? I go when I’m running late and don’t have the time to drive to Mililani . The gym is good. The kids center needs to be updated . And the staff ? Whoever is hiring should coach your staff to be nicer . I understand policies but telling me I NEED to have a towel to workout (had one) the one I brought is “too small and next time I need a beach towel” when I’m paying a 136 month membership plus the $72 month for the recovery is not okay.

No I’m not trying to be entitled but the rude / unwelcoming front staff is not okay. So sorry I ruined your day by walking in to workout ?

The staff won’t even acknowledge you if you’re up front trying to buy something they just continue doing what they were doing and then begrudgingly walk over and scan you code and say “your good”

You’d think that if someone Is already playing for the gym membership and then the quarterly enhancement fees they wouldn’t REQUIRE a towel to workout or I’m sorry “a bigger towel” what’s next I have to bring my own sanitizing spray?

The red light therapy sauna only has two panels working .

I don’t normally write reviews and I keep my negative feelings to myself but I’ve had pretty unpleasant encounters with the staff here .

Only friend staff here , and thank God , is the kids club staff .

I like the gyms equipment

Horrible experience gym is too small waiting for equipment takes twice as long!! And then I tried to cancel and because I didn’t have my card to cancel they wouldn’t cancel and I canceled in person so they kept trying to charge me. This place is ridiculous.

Decent gym but lacks many of the amenities that other UFC locations offer. Ie, pads, belts, etc normal lifting equipment that most basic gyms carry, much less ones that charge more than $100/mo.

Edit: pretty sure someone stole my gym bag here and more of their equipment is broken so lowered rating.

This gym stinks. They haven’t had AC in years. It’s really uncomfortable to work out in hot humid bacteria smelling/harvesting in a place with barely any ventilation. Only one fan that doesn’t cut it. Mililani location is much better. Feels clean. Waikele is disgusting.

Unfortunately, AC still not working. 09/16/2025

Child Care Review!

I visited this gym at around 11:15 am. Since I had to take my 3-year-old son, I decided to try out their childcare services so I could work out. I've been a gym member at this location for at least three years now, and I've never had any issues until today.

I went to drop off my son at the childcare area and filled out all the necessary paperwork. The experience was great in the beginning, but then my child had an accident at 12 pm. I had to cut my workout short to change him, but I left his diapers at home. So, I had to leave the gym and come back.

I asked one of the childcare staffs if they closed at 1 pm today, and they confirmed that they did. I told them I'd be back soon. As my son and I were walking to the car, I got another call to make sure I had paid the $6 fee. I explained that I had paid it at the front desk office before I started working out. However, the staff member assumed that I hadn't paid because it wasn't showing in their system. So when I came back I pulled out my phone to show that I received a notification that u was charged their $6 fee.

My bad experience began when I returned to the childcare room at 12:32 p.m. The staff, an older woman named Pat, who appeared to be in her 50s or 60s, greeted me with an attitude. She yelled, "Eh, you know I close at 1 p.m. I have to clean up." I informed her that it was only 12:32 p.m., but she continued to punch me in the iPad and said, "I cannot punch you in." Her tone suggested that she didn't want to watch my child simply because she needed to close at 1 p.m.

I was aware that childcare closed at 1 p.m., but her repeated insistence on the time implied that I wouldn't be returning before 1 p.m really triggered me. As I looked around, I noticed that four children were still inside. She then threatened me, saying that if I don't return by 12:55 p.m., she would mark me down as tardy. This made me wonder if she would add this charge to my account, like seriously lady chill out. SMH!

I didn't mind paying, but her threatening behavior was what really pissed me off. When I went to complain in front of the gym office, my phone rang at 12:56 p.m. to ask me if I was on my way because she needed to close. It was as if she was expecting me to be there immediately.

It was also amusing that she had announced on the radio at 12:44 p.m. that we had 15 minutes to pick up our kids before she closed at 1 p.m. I had never experienced such behavior at any gym, not even when I tried out the Mililani branch.

Overall, their childcare staff was a terrible experience. It made me wonder if Pat threats members with such attitude and threatens them to come at a specific time, just as she did with me the gym should clearly advertise that childcare closes at 12:55 p.m. to avoid such threats and ensure that parents are not forced to come at a specific time. Such a bad experience as this was my first time. SMH I wonder if she threats our kids too who can't speak for themselves. Watch out moms, beware of this lady.

I was on a guess pass by one of thee most professional, friendly and Hardworking Managers Marie. Every time I checked into the computer and it clearly said enjoy your workout sir . A lady named Savannah chased me down and stood by machine until I was done lifting and asked who are you in a very Rude manor and this has been the 4th time in two weeks that the front desk workers ,not all but some like the white lady with the flower tattoo down her arm asked me in a VERY RUDE MANOR if I had a pass and I calmly said yes and was about to follow the rules and check in on the pad and she said no I have to check you in . After the 4th time I was very upset and asked savanna who sent her to ask me about my membership she rudely said IT DOESN'T MATTER . I SAID I WOULD REPORT THEM FOR BULLING AND HARRASMENT AND SHE SAID YOU CAN DO WHAT YOU GOT TO DO. This gym been out of A.C for months all my friends lift here and I used to lift here long time but I transferred to the mainland to raise my kids . I definitely would not recommend this gym to any one in the world because of some of the staff that works there.

It would be an absolute great gym if they ran their AC. The studio room is always cold but the rest of the gym is uncomfortably hot. I feel like passing out if I take HIIT class. The classes and coaches are all great and I love the amenities like cryo and massage but pleeeeease turn on the AC and stop trying to save money on that cause you’re going to lose members.

AC has been broken for several months. The cleanliness of the facility and especially the locker rooms and showers is DEPLORABLE. Find a better gym at a better price!

Source: Google

jacob Yoshino

★ 2

The base level membership starts at roughly $40. This does not include any special classes or perks. Just basics access to the weight lifting and cardio equipment.

Over the past year of working out here the AC has worked for less than a month total. On a sunny day the entire gym feels hot and muggy. The fans that they use as a supplement don’t make much of a difference.

A towel is required to workout. If you forget a towel they sell small towels for roughly 5 dollars. I think this is the only UFC that requires towels for a workout.

There is a relatively wide range of equipment, but the more desirable equipment is usually taken if it isn’t during the middle of the day or a weekend. The gym is relatively clean but the men’s bathroom maintenance lacks at time.

In my opinion: staff are friendly and helpful, but I think this gym is expensive for what it offers and the amenities. Maybe if you enjoy using the punching bags it could be worth it. If not I think there are other gyms on the island that provide either better workout equipment or the same gym facilities for less money.

The machines are brand new! The UFC ring has been removed, and big body-size bags have replaced it. They also added a turf area that is nice to stretch and warm up. The facility is spotless and fresh-feeling. I highly recommend this gym, as everyone has been super friendly and helpful.

I came to UFC Waikele in February looking for personal training and left with a new love. My best friend and I wanted to learn a combat sport so we decided to try Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Coach Christopher Templo made a one time “try” into a life long obsession. His sense of humor, exceptional teaching style, and effortless way of making sure everyone leaves having learned something new drew us in. He is encouraging and never makes you feel left out (even when you are a terrified white belt on your first day). BJJ is worth every penny! I couldn’t recommend the classes or Coach Chris more!

I love coming to this gym! The staff and coaches are all great—especially when I get to train with coach Chris. He makes jiu-jitsu fun, easy to understand, and something I actually look forward to. He breaks down techniques really well and adds just the right amount of humor and motivation. My son also trains with him and always has a blast. Super grateful to have found this place—friendly staff, great coach, great energy.

Professor Chris Templo and all the coaches at UFC Waikele are top notch. The knowledge and passion that these guys have are evident by the way they are able to break down techniques for you on the spot but also making it fun at the same time. Waikele’s BJJ head coach Chris Templo is a really awesome coach. He has a way of making class fun and the right amount of challenging that helps tune up skills and techniques. He encourages the class and pushes them to be better. At the beginning of this year my son started taking the level 2 BJJ class. He looks forward to his training time at Waikele with coach Chris. I watched my son take classes and saw his growth and that encouraged me to start attending Waikele’s adult BJJ classes. I believe I have a better understanding of jiujitsu and I don’t walk away from class feeling defeated or confused. The BJJ mat is an enriching environment and that has a lot to do with Chris Templo.

Head instructor for BJJ Christopher Templo at UFC Waikele has deep knowledge of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & it is evident in every class, and the way he breaks down complex positions and submissions makes it easy to understand and apply, no matter your skill level. He’s incredibly approachable and engaging with all his students, creating a motivating environment that pushes you to train harder and constantly improve. Every class leaves me—and everyone around me—more inspired to learn and grow in the art. Highly recommend training under him!

When I first walked into Sensai Christopher Templo’s jiu-jitsu class, I just wanted to lose some weight and maybe be able to tie my shoes without getting winded. Little did I know I was about to get hooked—not just on the cardio, but on the art of gently (and sometimes not-so-gently) choking people out.

Chris has this magical ability to make even the most complex moves feel like second nature. His teaching style is patient, clear, and sprinkled with just enough jokes to make you forget you’re sweating buckets and getting folded like a lawn chair. Before I knew it, I wasn’t just there for fitness—I was obsessed with learning the intricacies of jiu-jitsu. Guard passes? Yes please. Rear naked chokes? Sign me up. Sneaky submissions that make your training partner tap before they even realize what’s happening?

Thanks to Chris, I’ve fallen in love with the art, the grind, and yes—the strangely satisfying feeling of wrapping someone up like a human burrito and watching them tap with a smile.

If you’re thinking about starting jiu-jitsu for fitness, self-defense, or just for fun, Christopher Templo is the real deal.

UFC Gym Waikele Head BJJ coach is excellent! He along with all the coaches at Waikele have helped to instill confidence in both my children through BJJ while furnishing a fun, friendly environment. He has helped to strengthen their will and persistence while maintaining respect and humbleness. My kids never want to miss a class nowadays. For myself, he has helped guide me through my BJJ journey and always seem takes the time to provide advice during practice and rolls. Definitely an excellent BJJ gym for the whole family! I have been charged for personal training on and off for over two years. Management, who never took my calls and only relayed information through other employees, said I had a contract for personal training. When I saw the contract it said NOTHING about being locked in AND the signature on the contract wasn’t even mine. If I were in a so called “contract” why was the money taken out of my account randomly throughout the past two years? And was the money taken out of my account after my regular gym membership expired? We are a military family and PCSd a few months after these charges started. The only way I could stop these charges was to cancel my bank card. At the very least I would appreciate a call from management.

Yesterday I called to address a double charge on my account. I thought it was an error so I waited a while to see if it would officially process in my bank app. I called the Waikele location on 12/9/2024 at 4:45pm and the woman who answered the phone said they don’t start charging until I begin physically attending the gym so the double charge contradicted that as I was charged for the month of December before ever stepping foot in the gym. I was also calling to change the location because when I looked it up I looked up the correct location and I selected the correct location, however, once it was finalized I got information about the wrong location via text which was the following day. I replied telling them that it seems to be the wrong location and the stopped replying. I didn’t get anything handled because the woman who answered became rude because I challenged the charge. She said I could’ve handled it as soon as I registered even though I didn’t know it was for the wrong location until they texted me. I was also waiting to see if it was a legit charge. Overall, the woman was rude she implied it was my problem and called me girlfriend in a condescending tone despite the fact that as a customer service helper she should be trying to help me rather than clearly being like ‘oh well, girlfriend’. Her lack of motivation to actually be helpful resulting in me ending the call with nothing being accomplished. She was unhelpful and rude. I also just checked my agreement and I should’ve been only charged the one time total of $51.53 instead I was charged that and that total without the enrollment fee which was $.32 total so without that I was charged another $51.21. It seems they charged me once with the enrollment fee and once without it as the totals match up with what I was charged and the receipt from my agreement. It only states that I’m paying for the enrollment and last month down payment not first month of December since I purchased it nov 30 and hadn’t been to the gym yet. So again, her statements contradict their actions and I told them it was the wrong location the next day via text but they didn’t respond after that and continued sending me automated texts from another number.

It's a great gym but for the membership price, it's a little too crowded. I paid for the premium to not worry about waiting up for machines. Initially, the personnel I talked to said that the gym don't get too crowded. It really doesn't but the thing is, there's so many coaches and the appointments take up space for regular g goers that's just trying to finish our workout routine for the day. I guess, I hope there's some regulations for coaching and such. It's nice to see people trying to get to the gum and start like a fitness cycle of some sort but too much is a little over crowding for regular gym goers like myself.

If you have multiple kids, especially with one under 5 years old, their gym plans aren’t family-friendly if you want a membership. They don’t offer family discounts, and they try to lure you in with discounted plans that don’t work if both parents are working. Only the parent with the membership can drop off and pick up the child at the kids club, and if the other parent tries, they’ll insist that they sign up too. It feels like they’re pressuring parents into memberships when all you really need is the kids club (childcare).

I bought a 2-year plan, but it became almost useless because the childcare is only for 2 hours. I signed my older kids up for 2-3 classes, which last 2-3 hours total. But what about me, who’s paying for the membership? I can’t even use it because the youth and adult classes don’t overlap. Youth classes are at 5 and 6 PM, but the adult classes I want to take are at 9 AM or 4 PM. The total time at the gym is around 3-4 hours, but the kids club is only available for 2 hours. I’m paying two paychecks for all of this and can’t even use it properly!

On top of that, my husband's work finishes at 5 PM, and I have to go to work at that hour, so we only see each other for 15 minutes a day, five days a week! If you sign up, make sure you speak to someone who understands what it’s like to have kids, not someone single who won’t sympathize with your needs. They only care about sales! We told the person that our priority was our youngest child, but they didn’t understand or care. Now, we’re stuck with a membership I paid for but can’t fully use!

Don’t go to this gym, management is very deceitful. Initially they charge you for first month and last month plus admin fees. They let you know you can cancel at any time. Here’s the caveat, you need to inform management 21 days prior to the next billing cycle prior to your last month. So you have to inform them 1 month + 21 days prior to your last day otherwise you will be charged an extra month. So in my case, I’m leaving May 10th and my next billing cycle falls on April 10th. I informed them in march that I was to leave island and I want to cancel my membership and use the last month I paid up front for Apr-may. They told me to pound sand. They will charge me an additional month for Apr-May. And then the last month can be used for May-June. Which I won’t be on island for.

TLDR: you need to inform them two months prior to your move date instead of one. Which was not how they verbally explained it to me when signing up.

TJ is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about fitness. He took the time to understand my goals, limitations, and preferences, and then crafted a tailored workout plan. His workouts are challenging, yet always engaging and fun, and they never fail to motivate and push me to reach new heights.

His holistic approach has helped me make sustainable changes in my daily habits, leading to significant improvements in my strength, endurance, and overall well-being.

What truly sets TJ apart is his unwavering support and genuine care for his clients. His positive attitude and commitment to helping me succeed have been instrumental in keeping me motivated and accountable.

I wholeheartedly recommend TJ to anyone seeking an exceptional personal trainer. We were visiting from Australia, and checked out a few of the UFC gyms around Oahu. This gym by far had the friendliest staff, in particular Kaigua (hope I am spelling his name correctly!) whose friendliness & customer service was one of the best we have experienced on our trip! Would highly recommend checking out this gym!

I’m usually not one to write reviews but I was recently on vacation in Hawaii and stopped by the UFC gym in Waikele. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming… especially Chris and Kaigua (hope I spelled that correctly). Walking into a new gym can be intimidating but both of them took the time to chat and really make me at home. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to train due to time but I did get some merchandise before leaving.

This was a stark contrast between the UFC Gym in Honolulu. I walked in and nobody seemed interested in saying hello before I did.. the staff behind the reception were very cold, disinterested, and definitely not welcoming.. in the end, I didn’t feel comfortable and I left. I wasn’t going to go to into another UFC gym after that experience, but I’m glad I did. UFC Waikele can have my money instead.

If you’re new in town and wanting somewhere to train, definitely go to UFC Waikele!

P.s. It was also no surprise to me that I lately found out Chris was the ju-jitsu coach at Waikele and Kai also a BJJ competitor. Ju-jitsu sure has an interesting way of creating nicer more humble people..

I’ve recently signed up here and things been going pretty good I’m a single father and I bring my son to the child care here. The process is new to me here so I’m still getting acquainted here. It’s been only a week so far. The child care is awesome and they charge additional $4 per day with is great. Like I mentioned I’m only a week here so the payment for the childcare is made in the main gym while you need to take the receipt to the childcare additionally. At time I do pay extra and have even ask to tip but they said that do do tips. Here and there I for get to turn the receipt to the child care and has caused so. Confusion. How ever today the “Operation manager” a heavyset lady calls for you to the front via intercom and the first word she tell
Me befor even introducing her self is Quote-“I HEARD YOU ARE NOT PAYIMG THE CHILDCARE” very rude and brazenly disrespectful. As I’m trying to explain to her how I paid in cash on 7/6/23 she just disregard anything I have to say and very nonchalantly insist that I did not pay. Apparently the records of me paying in cash was not recorded and I asked if she could go back to the camera but she continued to insult me i about my abilly to pay. Just straight accusations and not even try to get to the bottom of the fact that I told her I did pay. Like a
MANAGER should . She’s more like a bully and an accuser. Now I feel like the whole staff here as the deforming out look on me now and i am said to say h just after a week I am no longer comfortable at this establishment

I have a membership issue regarding my plan that I purchased. I have followed-up with the gym numerous times and they tell me they will reach back to me within a week. Every time they have said that, it was not true. Management has zero care about resolving customer issues and hope you will go way. I recommend to position yourself to leave the gym for another gym if you run into issues.
READ BELOW IF YOU PLAN TO USE MULTIPLE UFC GYMS.
I prepaid for a 3-year membership when things were opening back up. As I was shopping through plans, I wanted something that allows me to use the membership on the mainland. I purchased a 3-year membership for $1000, thinking it was a sweet deal that would fit my needs as I travel for work and live in Hawaii. Turns out, my membership is not accepted in certain parts of the mainland, after being assured it would be. I have addressed this issue to this gym, other gyms who will not accept my membership, and cooperate. No one has yet to reach back to me. I highly recommend to not accept prepaid memberships, no matter how good it seems – especially if you plan to use other ufc gyms. My issue has been going on for month and still not resolved and not one person has contacted me, it’s always me following up. It is hugely unfortunate that I must give this company the lowest rating possible and inform others of the possible terrible customer service you may experience with management (not the workers). I really like the ufc gyms and the people working there, but their management has demonstrated appalling customer service - especially their inaction.

I just completed three months, 2 times a week, of personal training at UFC Waikele. Anna was an amazing coach! She was very helpful and listened to what I wanted. But she also gave a lot of really helpful suggestions. She was motivating without being too pushy. I’m so glad that I invested in getting a coach to help me get comfortable in the gym.

I was nervous at first but Anna helped me learn how to enjoy my workouts. I had done home workouts, yoga and barre classes, as well as played tennis before this so I wasn’t necessarily new to working out. But I wanted to learn more about strength training and powerlifting and now I actually feel so much stronger! I started off with pretty much zero lifting experience so I didn’t think I’d be able to lift so much in such a short amount of time. She really helped me learn good form so I don’t hurt myself and also taught me how to program my workouts on my own. As a baker, my job is very labor intensive and she even gave me advice for how to move and deal with pains from being on my feet all day. I really really wish I could afford to continue. Even though it was a big investment for me, I am so happy that I went through with it and I 10/10 recommend that anyone does it too! Anna was so awesome! Whether you’re new to the gym, need suggestions on how to overcome hurdles, or just need someone to check your form, UFC is super helpful! Definitely request Anna if you can!

During my one-on-one sessions, Coach not only shows me the correct form and critiques my form, but can point out all the minute changes to make if I'm not feeling the targeted muscle group for that exercise. And with every passing day, the exercises are different or made more challenging by being chained together or done with more weight. It's this sort of attention to detail and variety to keep my interest that makes me feel I will reach my goals.

The whole vibe of the gym is NOT what most people expect. I assume it can be a bit intimidating because of the letters U-F-C. I have had nothing but positive interactions with coaches, staff and other members. If you take a group fitness class, the curriculum maybe "cookie cutter", but not the level of attention you get from the coaches. They always circle back and to give the correct information and encouragement to the individual based on what they need. "Join the community" isn't just a marketing gimmick, its a very accurate description of the environment at the gym.

UFC Waikele has been great. The facility, the equipment all have been helping me reach my goals. Although some workers could work on their customer service. I am a part of a community and not a gym. Members are friendly, staff always available, and the energy is contagious early in the mornings before the sun rises when many members are working hard before heading to work. The many different group classes available are challenging, fun, and build camaraderie. The staff and its members work to help great causes supporting our local community. One of those events, a workout to raise funds to support the families of fallen HPD officers Enriquez and Kalama recently are just one of many. Although I have traveled from Waikele and trained at other UFC Gyms throughout the US, there is no place like UFC Gym BJ Penn Waikele.

Worked out here for almost a year. Originally joined because they have daycare and my son did bjj while i worked out. As far as kids bjj with jay penn and the kids club i would say it is a 5 star. But how great the daycare is doesnt make up for the adult part of the gym. For one there is literally one squat rack (2 if you count the oly platform) and it is ALWAYS full. There is a ton of ellipticals and crap that hardly gets used but ONE DAMN SQUAT RACK! On top of that, the people that workout in there are so all about themselves. The atmosphere in this gym is horrible. Maybe its because im a "haole" from the mainland and people just dont like me.. but ive never had the type of vie at any gym ever that i get here. I literally feel like im gonna get in a fight every time i worked out there. Such a waste because its great for kids. If you are a chick or a local maybe youll have a better experience

I'm just starting off here and I'm blown away! They have a day care program that comes with a membership! There's so many fitness and fighting classes at every level! The smoothie bar has some incredible shakes.

Stop by, take a look. The prices are lower than you'd expect.

By far the best gym in Hawai'i State! Something for everyone! Also a little vendor shop, a smoothie stand, and a kiddie play area. Definitely a good deal!

Best gym I've ever went to. Maybe I'll get all club and train at the Honolulu location also eventually. It's great for fighting, functional fitness, and your typical strength training exercises. They have everything. I'm glad a gym like this is now available for athletes like myself. I wish a gym like this was really there when I was a competive high school athlete. Anyways, I'm still training as a high caliber athlete and still actively competing going into my mid 20's. I'm starting to get into mma and grappling since I feel that I can learn and transfer my power into that sport much more effectively and efficiently. Hey I'll also learn self-defense skills too.
