They must be offering incentives for 5 star reviews. For the last year this gym has quickly declined in quality. Half the reason people go is for the sauna and it’s either broken down or reserved for a private party (which makes no sense) and they don’t warn you when it’s reserved before you pay 20$ to get in. Do t waste your money, go to the commons or verticals view instead. You’ll have a much better experience.

Quite fond of this climbing gym. The route setters are exceptional and are very friendly. You can tell they put a lot of energy into setting as much as they climb. I especially like some of the recent additions and upgrades done to the kilter area and their sauna.
Update: they are constantly updating and getting really interesting holds. They take care of their facility and invest in it well =)
The granite holds and no-tex holds are especially unique and their setting lives up to IFSC standards so I declare.

Exceptional Venue for Corporate Retreats and Team Building
We created a corporate retreat at Asana Climbing Gym and were thoroughly impressed. The environment is perfect for team building, creative thinking, and physical activity. Our group appreciated the unique experience — far beyond the typical meeting room setting.
Asana’s staff was helpful, and ensured that everyone, regardless of climbing experience, felt comfortable and encouraged. The space fostered collaboration in a fun way.
We highly recommend Asana to other organizations seeking an active and energizing off-site experience.

We love Asana!
This place is a gem for all ages — whether you're climbing for fun, training, celebrating a birthday, or just looking for something active and indoors, Asana delivers every time. We bring all our out-of-town guests here because it's such a unique way to move our bodies, connect, and have a blast.
The staff is friendly, the routes are creative, and the space is well designed for both seasoned climbers and total beginners (including kids!). Plus, they host comps, events, and gatherings that build real community.
Honestly, more people need to know this place exists — it’s a local treasure, and we’re always grateful it's here.

I miss this gym since moving away.
The price point for the size and extras is really good. There are auto-belays, top rope, tons of bouldering and saunas, It has a full gym with weight racks, and a bar.
The routes are fun too. Doesn’t get better than Asana

What a great place! I have driven by it countless times, but had never been in. The employees were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I took my grandkids who are 8 and 11. The young man working did a great job explaining to them how to connect themselves with the harnesses to climb, then properly lower themselves down. They loved how he taught them to be self-sufficient in using the harnesses, so they could connect themselves and climb on the different walls available. They had the best time! What a cool place and fantastic employee that clearly are passionate about climbing. We will be back!

Love that this gym’s top priority is bouldering now. With all the additional programs and activities, the space was becoming incredibly crowded, extremely loud, and in some cases outright dangerous (climbers being hit in the head with twirling feet). Management made a tough call, but it was the right one.

I had been a climber at asana and eventually switched over to the aerial side. When the management team decided to cut the program with no warning or discussions, it not only took away an entire community it stripped away many people’s community and place for artistic expression. After putting so much time and care into this gym and creating so many connections with climbers and aerialists, it was really heartbreaking to see how little it meant to the people who run the gym.

My daughter was a part of the aerial program for over 4 years. She is a dedicated aerialist and loved the program and her instructors. She has been competing for the last 2 years, and was excited to have the first competition of the season coming up. On Friday, without any warning, we received an email the program was being shut down, effective immediately. Apparently, her instructors received notice at the same time, that they were now unemployed, and just days before Christmas. Complete disregard for the student athletes who are gearing up for competition season and now have nowhere to train, complete disregard for the instructors who could have found a new job. Complete disregard for all of the families who have been loyal patrons. Brannon, Jamey, Sara - as the Asana MisManagement team, aim higher, do better & be better. What a shady disappointment.

I enjoyed attending the aerial silk and lyra hoop classes that were offered, however I am upset with the abrupt closure of the aerial program. I feel if the gym and aerial program had come to some sort of agreement on when to officially end the program instead of blind siding the aerial instructors and customers. I feel the aerial community would not be as upset about the closure if everyone was given a proper notice. I feel the aerial competition team should have had the opportunity to finish out their competition season with a location to practice at with a proper notice of the program ending.

We got the worst Christmas present ever. The aerial program was cancelled with zero warning to parents or aerial staff, days before Christmas and right in the middle of the competition season. Our daughter has been taking aerial classes at Asana for 4 years and now competes on their youth company team. I had to take a whole day to figure out how to tell her and her reaction was exactly what I was expecting - shock and then deep grief. When she finally was able to talk about it she said "I just don't understand how they could do this to us like this. That place was my happy place for 4 years now and it's like they don't even care what it means to all of us kids." Perhaps there's a better way to imagine closing a program that doesn't involve shocking the kids involved and giving the paying parents no warning. We've been a part of a lot of sports teams and nothing has EVER been mishandled anything close to this one. Not only did we have to sign contracts with the gym which precluded our kids from being on any other sports teams for the year due to the level of commitment required, but we were financially bound to the terms; however, Asana reserved the right to not uphold their end of the contracts. Poor business etiquette. We've paid thousands and thousands of dollars over the years we've been a part of this program. And that's just one kid - there are scores of kids AND adults who take these classes. Imagine the total amount spent by the hundreds of people who have fallen in love with aerial arts at Asana....and this is how they're treated? With an email saying their program is ending in 48hrs?!? Who on earth in business would think that's an appropriate way to treat paying customers?!?
In the last day or so, I've seen more explanations in the responses to poor google reviews than I received from the staff that canceled the program via email. Explanations have ranged from "we want to focus on our core product of climbing" to "we were unable to secure a cohesive leadership environment for the program." Either way, and in both cases, I'd argue you could have saved the extreme disappointment inflicted on scores of paying customers, ripping the rug out from under the kids, adults, and instructors by giving more than 48hrs notice about the ending of their beloved program.
Just awful. Shame on you guys, honestly.

I was grateful for this place until today. My son does the after school climbing, nice coaches, good fun. Staff has always been great. We have also been participating in the ariel program for over a year. The instructors are amazing, summer camps were fun and the community weve been introduced too is so fun and supportive. Like amazing people. We even have a contract we signed in September that committed us to a year of training. Like had to not sign up for other sports and arrange our schedule for a year kind of contract. Not to mention money paid. However, today they (the managemant of Asana, a fellow named Brannon), without warning or explanation, pulled the whole program. My daughter and all the other members of the team and the after school dedicated arielists are going to be so disappointed and let down. Not to mention all the amazing coaches and instructors who were let go without any warning, and just before Christmas, yikes. Such a dirty unprofessional move. I'd really like to know if this was some big money move grab or vengeance or just BAD management decisions? But I will tell you I have an 8 year old who is absolutely crushed. I get to be the one who explains that sometimes people, "grown ups" in life let you down and do it in incredibly uncaring ways, contract or not. Right on Brannon. Thanks for that super email today.

The owner and the manager Brannon canceled the entire aerial program with no warning to the students or teachers. Some of the students were mid training for national competitions and now they have nowhere to train. I had been involved and going to aerial classes for almost 4 years at Asana, it was the best, best teachers, best community, incredible. Some of the teachers are out of a job now, a few days before Christmas too. At least they could have given notice and did it at a different time! It's absolutely devastating for the kids in the program. And devistating for everyone else involved. I can't believe the lack of empathy and business sense that the leadership has. Over the years I was in aerial classes here, I brought it dozens of people and encouraged many others to come to classes and a couple of those people signed up for memberships, climbing and aerials. So doesn't make sense business-wise either. It's absolutely stupid and heartless to ruin a whole community out of spite? There's also some really shady, unprofessional stuff going on and I hope that comes to light as I am not at liberty to share it. I will encourage people to not go to asana and to not trust them moving forward. I feel bad about all the kind employees working there and all the friends I've made. I would also encourage anyone who is looking to be a teacher there, to find somewhere else. You never know when you'll be let go and obviously they don't care about you. Asana was an amazing commutiy because of the teachers passion and love poured into everything. Now that is gone.

My daughter - "this place was amazing when they had the silks open, but then they had to ruin it for me"
As someone who has been attending aerial classes at asana for years, the sudden decision for them to shut down the aerial program and lay off all the teachers has been a massive punch to the gut. There are ways to phase out a program, and this is not it. This hurts the aerial community, hands down, and has left many many students of all ages without a place to go. I can't imagine myself climbing in this gym again either, not after this.

Really disappointed in Asana leadership for discontinuing the aerial program on two days notice and for not fulfilling their side of the contract. This company is stepping over dollars to make dimes and just be cautious when signing up a long term contract because they may not fulfill
it or be around much longer due to their poor financial decisions.

My daughter and I both participated in there aerial program for years. They closed the program with nearly no notice in the middle of my daughter’s competition season. Comp Fees have already been paid to Asana and there is now no place for her to practice. The mismanagement of this gym is terrible. Would not recommend.

Compared to bp seattle and bp slc, which are massive, the initial impression is that its small, kinda dirty and run down, the facilities are lacking and could use a remodel, however it really makes up for this in other ways.
Most importantly the route setting is very very good, it's creative, consistent, and challenging. There is a bar upstairs. The aerial yoga is unique. They have their own merchandise and swag which was super cool. Asana has a lot of character and it's really excellent!

If you love bouldering, Asana Gym is a great place with fun routes for all levels. The top roping routes are fun but if you are someone that is looking for a gym that offers really high routes to strap into, you may be disappointed, for me it is just right as I enjoy bouldering much more.
The team also makes it accessible to little ones as well and gave a great intro with a lesson in gym etiquette for them to follow. My 3 year old nephew was a bit too nervous to climb up their kids routes but they are made really well for junior level climbers. At the end of his climb time he was excited to go back and try it again.
The bar upstairs is a fun hangout place with a good drink selection and some board games to pass the time if you plan on spending your whole day at the climbing gym.
As a great local bouldering gym i give it 5 stars and recommend it to all of my friends! :)

Normally Asana is a great place to climb with a wide variety of bouldering routes for all skills levels. However, they are currently hosting bouldering competitions for the next 2 months and have taken down all but a tiny fraction of their normal routes and replaced them with a much smaller number of ungraded competition routes. Not that big of a deal, we'll just climb at the other gyms in the valley until January 2023. Glad I let our memberships lapse for the ski season, though. I would not be very happy with the lack of bouldering options if I were paying for a membership right now.

Pros: Great routes, nice staff, good use of space, and plenty to climb for the gym size and price. Bouldering seemed well graded and well set
Cons: the Asana made toes holds were slicker than I have ever experienced and many volumes and block style slopers had sharp edges and hooks, ropes for top rope were not well maintained and hung on many hand holds while climbing auto belay, grades have been sandbagged and are inconsistent, climbed multiple 5.9s that any other gym would call 5.10. Definitely not the best gym for sport climbing, stick to bouldering here.

I’ve been to 7 climbing gyms, including the “best ones” in Utah, and Asana smokes them all. The holds they use are washed well so you don’t slip due to large amounts of rubber, and the holds themselves are high quality and variable. Coupled onto their great climbing holds, is their excellent setting. One massive difference between Asana and other gyms, is that even their V1 boulder problems require thought and are genuinely fun. If you want great bouldering, Asana is the place to be.

That being said, this place would make a better late night club over a venue.

Took a group of junior highers here today and they had a great time. We were really thankful for the great staff that helped us with all our needs. Highly recommend this climbing gym.

Great gym for training. The high quality of setting was matched with a good variety of problems. One would definitely see huge gains in both strength and technique if they were to spend time here. I was just passing through but thought it was well worth coming in.

Focuses mostly on bouldering, with a handful of roped routes. We'll run and clean.

On the scene in Garden City for more than 20 years is this indoor climbing facility at the Glenwood Shopping Center.
Idaho is a state with innumerable world-class climbing locations, and if you want to develop your skills there’s no better place to begin than Asana Climbing Gym.
You can get a day pass for one of the most challenging workouts you could hope to experience, while the gym also offers multi-punch passes and membership for up to one year.
Practically every surface here is covered with climbing grips, and as well as a helpful and experienced team of staff there’s an comprehensive schedule of activities.
These include climbing classes for all ages and abilities, yoga and aerial arts sessions, ecstatic dance and youth programs from after-school climbs to summer camps.

I was delighted to make myself get to the place I was learning to make sure I got the communication within my body to coordinate effectively, and I was accepted and enjoyed seeing the opportunity to be making myself more capable.

Great bouldering gym with very reasonable prices. Supporting them through covid has been a treat and they've done their best to keep everything flowing ad smoothly as possible. Cosmic is great for yoga too, if you ever get the chance to join.

Love it here! My whole family has participated in activities here. The best is being able to share a challenging workout with my husband. We can each work at our own level, side by side! The staff is always friendly and calls us by name! Thank you for this wonderful atmosphere to experience bouldering, top rope, weight training, and more!

I just love Asana! They have an amazing staff and the bouldering here is the best. They also have some great sport climbs with automatic belaying. I go here almost daily and it's a safe, fun, easy going environment. I haven't tried the yoga classes or the silks but they looks really fun!

Super friendly staff, great bouldering and rock climbing, had an amazing time. The manager was awesome and treated up amazingly greeted at the door and reviewed all safety precautions with us and took us on a tour of the facility. He also gave us tips on how to do some of the more experienced climbs in the gym. My girlfriend and I are definitely coming back. Great upper body work out and has a gym for just working out.

Sure the ratings are soft, and there's a throng of gym rats every time you go, but the new gyms got some fun routes and sticky new holds to have fun on. The top rope/lead section is dull face climbing, and short, but also quiet and private because everyone's there to boulder. The staff was rude to my new climbing friends, most of the staff didn't know how to lead belay so they couldn't certify them. When someone there does know how to do it, they re always to busy to do it, when there was hardly anyone in the gym. 3rd experience like this, had to change my rating. Don't even want to use my free pass

A little late on this review, seeing my membership ended well over a year ago. Did not have a good parting with this gym, had disputes over their hours which they have apparently changed since then (about time guys). They used to open at 10AM (M-F). I don't know why it had to take so long, I would have enjoyed their current hours while my annual membership was active, but they said it wasn't financially feasible and that probably wouldn't change. All staff AND the owner stated this to me. It's feasible now apparently? Go figure.
