Childcare is extremely unreliable. Calling ahead to see if they’re even open won’t get you anywhere if they fill up before you get there. And their solution instead of hiring more employees is to ask the gym members to drive an additional 20 minutes to the Nampa location which is ALSO unreliable and usually full. This is the fifth time this has happened and honestly I don’t think they should claim that they have childcare when their actual availability is limited and inconsistent.

The staff are helpful and friendly, but the facilities itself are in dire need of a remodel. The pool safety railing is loose and a hazard to those that need it for balance. The steel trusses in the pool area are rusted and corroded. The hot spa has no working jets. The pool area deck is slick and hazardous and needs some non-skid. Overall the facility is rundown.

This gym is in a great location from where I live and it gets the job done. When I saw that they open at 4:30AM, I decided this was a perfect fit for me as it’s close to my house and works with my schedule. I joined back in November 2024. It was all going great until the past month there have been days when no one shows up to open the gym. I have waited in the parking lot for 30+ mins and no one decides to show up. It’s rather unfortunate as a busy mom with a busy schedule to pay for a membership at this gym, with the goal of getting an early morning workout only to show up at the place and see it completely dark. There are 24 hour gyms, if you can’t have a consistent person to open the gym at the advertised time every morning why not implement a system like those 24-hour gyms? At this point, I am considering driving a little further just to have a more reliable gym.

I have been a member since 2021. I like it here. They don't care if you use chalk as long as you clean up after yourself. Staff is friendly and helpful and keeps it clean.

The equipment layout here is horrible! Whoever came up with the equipment layout obviously doesn't lift or use the equipment. I'm surprised the voaches there don't make better suggestions.

Bench press racks and incline & decline benches are too close! They're out backed up against each other! You can't get in between the racks to spot anyone lifting heavy.

That's a huge safety concern. If someone is lifting alone, someone can't help them fast enough because you can't get in between the racks fast enough.

The equipment layout should be like this:
- All the bench and squat racks should be against the perimeter walls.
- The leg press and smith machine should go in the middle next to the large cable tower where the bench racks currently are. This will give ppl on the large cable tower room to do their pull exercises without bench press lifters having to work around or bump into them to load their weights.

I'm glad they finally have 2 deadlift pads, but we wish they weren't connected to squat racks. Sucks to wait for the deadlift pads because people are using it for squats or hipthrusters. 😡

The new horse mats help protect the floor they should've made the existing floor even first. Not having metal dumbells was a good call.

The light weights should be on one side and 50 plus on the other for logistic purposes. This way, heavy lifters aren't walking across the light lifters or vice versa.

Now they need wider bench press racks. The current bench racks aren't wide enough for heavy powerlifters, and they need designated squat racks just for squats. Then it will be perfect.

I’ve had an amazing time being at this gym , I looked around before I chose Crunch Time and once I started my fitness journey I made the decision to get a personal trainer , I was paired up with Kristi Rist and it’s been amazing. I’ve seen a change in my energy and focus she’s taught me how to target certain body parts and how to use multiple machines. I’m almost done with my 3 month term with a trainer and I’m more than happy that I’m able to start doing my workouts alone and with knowledge she’s given me. She’s had alot of patience to answer as many questions as I’ve had and to be honest about her thoughts. I’ve never had soo much confidence like I do now that she’s taught me so much !!! Thank you

The locker rooms and bathrooms are disgusting. The pictures attached to this review were taken at 5:30am, there were also trash cans that were over flowing with trash all over the floors. Management clearly doesn’t have a cleaning crew or doesn’t enforce a standard to have this gym cleaned properly. This isn’t just a common occurrence, this is all I’ve known this gym to be.

I feel for the price of a the membership the facilities should be taken care of and clean. The free weight area has a large rubber mat placed over the holes that were worn into the original flooring. Seems like a half hearted attempted instead of actually fixing the issue. I’d love to see our membership money be invested into the facilities, right now it doesn’t look like a dime is being spent on improvements.

Took me a year to cancel my membership and then I asked for a refund for the year I didn’t even know I was paying for! Have I gotten it yet? Nope, any time I have tried to call and speak to the manager they are unavailable or in a meeting. Coincidence? Update - Credit where credit is due. The management has stepped up their game since my last update. They’ve hired an amazing new opener who is friendly, professional, engaged, and helpful (and always there), the equipment has been getting fixed quickly, and I’ve even seen maintenance staff checking the weight machines. The pool is open, and the facilities are clean. It’s been an amazing transformation.
Update - yet again, the gym wasn’t open more than an hour after it was scheduled to open (5/7/24).
The gym is ok, some of the equipment is showing its age and there are always a few cardio machines with “out of order” signs or that just don’t work. The Pool hasn’t been open since I joined and I get the feeling it never will be again. Most frustrating are the random times I show up an hour after opening to find that no one is here and they just didn’t open the club. No note, no one answering the phone if you call, just closed. If it wasn’t super-close to my house, I’d cancel my membership, but alas, here I sit in the parking lot for the 4th time in a few months, hoping that each car that pulls in will be an employee just in time to open, before I have to give up and go get ready for work.

I keep wanting to like this gym. It’s a decent location with good amenities. Equipment for the most part is clean and usable. The layout leaves room to be desired, and they lack basic commercial equipment for some body parts. My biggest gripe is that I train at 4:30-5am (their claimed opening time) and today marks the 6th time in the last 8 weeks that they have not been open at the listed time. I have reached out to a manager, and seen multiple new openers make their rounds, but at this point I’m not getting the services that are advertised, that I paid for. If you don’t rely on training early in the morning, this place is a decent value. But I’ll be attempting to cancel my membership and get my moneys worth somewhere else.

in February 2024, I decided to get a trainer to help me lose weight and achieve my goals.
Thats when I was assigned to "Meghan", a CRUNCH fitness Certified Trainer.
Now (4 months later), Im 35 lbs lighter and have a a six pack.

I was terified of gyms and knew I would never feel comfortable going to one unless I had someone point me in the right direction.
She sends me my workouts at the end of every session. The machines, the weights and any other ingormation.

She sends reminders every morning we meet, reminding me of my session.
She is kind and holds a great conversation
...she made me feel comfortable from day 1 and definetly wont push you beyond what your capable.

I have a sore elbow I frequently get injections for the pain...
Meghan is always concious of this and plans workouts around the pain area.

She has changed my self esteem and given me better health... and I cant thank her enough!

This is a nice gym: new equipment, good atmosphere, clean facilities. Training staff is knowledgeable and efficient. Management and sales, however, leave a LOT to be desired. I was sold a joint membership for my girlfriend and myself…and was told 10 months later that this isn’t even something that they offer anymore. After receiving multiple calls from their collections department, I finally called and asked to speak to a manager, and they flat out refused to transfer my call to her. To this day I have yet to hear from her, even after leaving multiple messages. I finally had to settle for downgrading my membership to get it back to the cost that I have been paying since last August. POOR customer service, to say the least. This business would be better off hiring a five gallon bucket of sand as a manager, as I am positive that I would get better service from the bucket.

DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE... if you ever plan on canceling at least. I got a membership with crunch a year ago and never used it because of how busy it was 24/7. I did the annual membership with the monthly fee. On my account it said that my account was active until a certain date. My understanding was once my account was no longer active I would not be billed... apparently that was incorrect. On the last day of my membership I was charged BOTH a monthly and annual fee. I am not sure why I would be charged BOTH when my account was supposed to go inactive but I also can not get an answer for that. I have called AND emailed three times since December 12th 2023. Every time I call, the manager is "busy" and they say they are going to cancel my membership and leave a note for the manager. Here I am a month later... no phone call or email back and i just got charged again! This is now the second time I have been charged a monthly fee after my inactive day and it is not like I have not tried to cancel it. I am very disappointed and VERY unimpressed with how this has been handled from Crunch. I have now paid over $100 AFTER my member was supposed to be "inactive" and can not get anyone to help me resolve my issue.

I have had a membership here for a year and I just left the gym very disappointed yet again. There were no sanitizing wipes in stock, which is a very common occurrence here. They do have a few communal microfiber rags and spray for everyone to use. But the communal rags are so saturated and gross after being used over and over again that I often wonder if I’m using other people’s butt sweat to wipe up my own. Today they didn’t have any toilet paper or hand soap in their bathrooms. There was a sign on the door naming supply issues as the cause and instructing us to use the sanitizer out in the gym. However, I watched many people leave the bathrooms who didn’t even bother finding sanitizer. I have a newborn baby at home and I can’t help but feel like I am bringing an insane number of germs home simply because proper sanitation is not provided here. Having supply chain issues seems like a poor reason when there are other possible solutions that can be implemented in the meantime. Can the cost of my membership not cover the cost of running to Costco for the necessary items to make due until the order for toilet paper, sanitizing wipes, and hand soap comes in? I hope that these issues can be remedied soon.

The guy who signed me up was great, he was really authentic and unpretentious. However, the facility left much to be desired. Pretty much everything about the place was old and tore back. The ergonomic geometry of the equipment was pretty bad, it all seemed like first gen designs that hadn't been developed and articulated. The whole vibe of the place was just really ghetto. Anyway, I tried it out for one workout and when I called the next day to cancel there was a different guy on the phone and he was pretty rude about it. It was like he took it personally. So when I asked about a refund he said "I don't know, you'll have to talk to some other manager about that". so I left a message for that other manager and eventually she got back to me and she was as rude and butt hurt as the 2nd guy. She emphatically refused to give me a refund even though they advertise a 3 day trial. It's sad that this kind of attitude has become so commonplace these days, customer service is becoming a lost art. The Bible says that you reap what you sow and I wouldn't want to be at this place when the harvest comes in.

My daughter needed a gym for a fitness class so we checked around a few places and decided on crunch. The staff is very friendly and made sure we had all the info we needed to make our decision. One thing that I was concerned about was having my daughter in the situation where a biological male might be allowed to come in the locker room or bathroom she's in and the staff members I talked to didn't really know what the policy was since this is Caldwell and we really don't have much of those issues, but we were able to get an answer from a manager and they keep locker and bathrooms divided by biological sex, which was a big selling point for us. On top of that they have a great workout space with 2 areas for yoga, stretching, and various exercises that don't require a machine or free weights. There was lots of spots to work free weights, many different style weight machines with instructing on use on them which was nice, and plenty of treadmills, stair climbers, and bikes, I don't think I saw an elliptical though. We'll be doing this class until January, but I can see us continuing to go to this gym even after that.

Went to cancel my membership. After not hearing back for 4 days i sent a follow up email and requested the last billing date as i did not want to be billed due to their lack of follow up. They simply said it is canceled. I then replied very specifically about the billing date since they seemed to not have seen that in the first email. they replied back its canceled. I then let them know again that they are not answering my question and have yet to hear back. Original communication on 8/16. here we are 8/28 and still no response on last billing date. I simply just do not want to billed on the 18th when i cancelled on the 16th and they cant even respond..

Gym is dirty. Front desk instructs you to email management to cancel your membership. We’ve been trying for months. Old manager wouldn’t even respond, the new manager responds but refuses to assist. They would continue to pull money from the bank, when we put a stop to that, they now sent it to collections. Have multiple months worth of emails trying to resolve this matter and get membership cancelled. Filed a complaint with the BBB. Only after that did the new manager even start to respond to emails.

It is a great gym with wonderful and very helpful staff members. They have great deals on gym memberships all the time. They carry a wide variety of different energy and supplement drink for great prices. They have tons of workout equipment and classes to suit even the most advanced requirements.

It's a swell place to be, but out of almost 2 years at this gym it's always hit and miss. The Hot tub hasn't worked most of my time there and the pool was shut down for over 6 months, has had issues with cleanliness and some of the people (past as far as I know now) are extremely judgy and rude...

Really this place is a scam. You have sub par gym equipment, pricey memberships for equipment and atmosphere you could get anywhere. Still having an awful experience over a month later. I had bought personal training sessions back in April, requested a refund within the 5 day policy and without using any sessions (due to the fact that the trainer rescheduled within a couple of hours of our first session and seemed flaky), was a fight with the manager (Julie) to get this done. She is awful about emailing you back yet this is the preferred way to get in contact? Sends a confirmation email that this was cancelled and refund request sent. Says it can take up to two weeks to see refund yet in the contract you sign it says you have the right to receive the refund within 10 days. Over a month later and I still haven't received my refund and received an email that i was scheduled for training sessions on June 8th??? I emailed her and still haven't received a response to that email or the one that I want to cancel my actual gym membership (seperate from the training sessions). This is a terrible place to try and become a healthy better version of you. Highly recommend going anywhere else.

If only i could leave 0 stars. Management closed the pool at the beginning of the year. Claiming that it would be fixed in a month. Turns out 4 months later it's still broken (now it's indefinitely). The hottub never works and the entire place is filthy. After speaking with a manager they informed me that if I cancel I will have to pay $75 plus the remaining months up to a year for canceling! I only had a membership for swimming and i wanted to cancel because they closed the pool. After the interactions between crunch management I will never be coming back. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. Even the gym portion is mediocre.

The pool and hot tub have been down for months. Corporate does not care about that and they continue to sell new memberships promising. The pool and hot tub will be fixed. Over half a year and it’s still the same story every day dirty disgusting broken down trash gym. The only good thing is the employees at the front counter, and personal trainers are nice there just as frustrated with Crunches greed as everybody else. They had a decent manager before this one that used to get things taken care of though.

A lot of the equipment is older, and you can see repair after repair that has been completed.
There is a ton of cardio equipment, even after getting rid of a bunch of spin bikes. There are not enough free weights. The ads they show for a Crunch Fitness are nothing like any around here in the Treasure Valley. Especially Caldwell. Wait til summer, and you will have a puddle upstairs from their HVAC system. It has been leaking for a while now.

Pros: Lots of equipment. Pool. Sauna. Racquetball courts. The staff is pleasant and has always been helpful.

Cons: Cardio equipment is not maintained the best and cleaning them doesn’t seem to be a priority. Gym cleanliness is not a priority. Sauna is a health hazard; thermostat is pulled out and often covered by wet towels. Towels are placed on ground below door to “maintain” heat. Heating element and cabinet are falling apart. The interior is not kept clean and the benches are rough and oftentimes the temperature is too high.

I believe that the management at this location must not have received sufficient training and lacks the resources to effectively perform their job. The problems here are a result of the ownership.

For the price of a membership, one would expect a lot more especially given the fact that the competition is plentiful and the prices are lower elsewhere.

How long does it take to repair your pool and jacuzzi??!! We are paying membership fees for a jacuzzi and pool that we cannot use!??? And when will you use bleach in your bathrooms??? The sinks have many layers of disgusting dirt rings that can easily come off with a little bleach. Trash cans are overflowing throughout the gym. Are you trying to get people sick??! When was the last time somebody cleaned the floors using sanitizers? Or shampooed the carpets in the tanning rooms? This place is turning ghetto quick...smh. Is it the manager who doesn't care? Honestly this review is really mixed feelings because the place is great don't get me wrong the equipment there is nice and they have a pool a sauna and jacuzzi and racket ball courts i think what throws my opinion of this place is the lack of maintenance. I'm not sure who's job it is to oversee the sanitary conditions of the gym or the maintenance but there are alot of things that need to be cleaned and repaired.I wanted to take pictures of the things that needed attention but I thought if management won't take the 30 minutes to walk around and make a list of some quick improvements honestly why would they care about what I have to say.i just find it a little upsetting how the members have to pay that 30-45$ maintenance fee YEARLY and alot of their stuff is the way it is. Hoping this new year will be a bit better for them and us.

If Planet Fitness and L.A. Fitness had a child, Crunch Fitness would be the result. This place has everything you need including hydro chairs and tanning beds. You get everything you want out of a gym and even though it's a bit pricer than Planet Fitness it's absolutely worth every penny you put into this membership and it doesn't break the bank like L.A. Fitness does. I would actually say this is better than those two gyms combined. What are you waiting for sign up! Also they have help if you have kids they will watch them while you get your workout done. You have zero excuses to not join.

Awesome gym! I was visiting the area and the staff was super helpful in finding the best solution for me.
The equipment is new and clean. There is plenty of room for stretching/floor exercises and free weights. The times I went I never had to wait to use anything.
All the facilities were very clean and there was plenty of parking.

To start off it's a nice gym and I enjoyed going there
When I tried to cancel I was informed I had one more month to pay and I wouldn't have to pay a cancellation fee I asked if there would be any fees or if it would just be the regular monthly
I was informed that it would be just the regular monthly
The next month I was charged with a renewal fee and the monthly when I went into cancel and try to refund on the renewal fee they told me it was because it was a yearly fee
It didn't matter that I had told them I was canceling and asked directly would there be any fees they would not refund me

I went in to sign up with a deal through my work, they had no idea what to do, how to look it up. Was told they were going to look into it and get back to me the next day. It's a good gym. They have all the pertinent equipment. Only issue I have had is the daycare not being opened as per the website and not knowing until you show up that it's closed.. as well alot of the equipment is broken.. so there is a wait for certain things.. even during slow times.

The pool was okay, but was really cold one time I went. Wet sauna is a storage room. Hot tub was working correctly. The HIIT classes have been cancelled for a long time. Lots of weight equipment and weight lifting area. There is a cross fit area that is cool too. Men's locker room has that distinct odor smell from years of use. I have also enjoyed joining a group of guys playing racquetball on two courts Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

It's not the best maintained gym by far. Hot tub is, and from what I've heard, been down for some time. Heating unit for pool went out so they pulled the one from hot tub. With no intentions of replacing. Yet still using it in their sales of memberships.
There is large amounts of rust on overhead steel beams. That falls into pool when ever dead weights are dropped on 2nd floor. Ventilation in aquatic area has been down for some time due to lack of preventive maintenance (issues that could have been prevented). Rubber mats both in pool & locker rooms have bacteria, mold as well as A LOT OF BUGS on their underside! This has been reported to the manager and staff multiple times.
I have not yet tried any of the workout equipment. I give them only 1 star based on the aquatic areas and locker room.

UPDATE: As of 08/09/2022 Crunch Fitness - Caldwell has went from showing promise back to their unkempt ways. Where the mats were being cleaned has returned to the gross state. New photos of mites and molding debris quickly growing under mats along side pool.

The Zoomba teachers at Crunch are amazing. But the room we were in was 89 degrees because the air conditioner was broken. The room has that hot afternoon sun beaming in, and one of the teachers had to hunt down a floor fan, bringing the grand total to 2. We were hot and miserable. C'mon, Crunch.

The workers at the front desk just seemed really confused about being in the customer relations field. Good place to work out, but the pool area is dark and kinda ghetto, and the sauna is just garbage... I mean it works fine, but you can definitely tell that the owner doesn't care if things fall apart, because the boards are rotting and warped and have been for a hot minute. It's definitely not like the one in eagle.
