Love going here. The equipment is maintained very well. The gym has what I need. Alivia, at the front desk, is a breath of fresh air to the gym. She is super friendly and on time. Thank you for the nice facility.

This gym feels dirty & dark. Everywhere I look just feels kinda dirty, I swear they havent cleaned their windows in years. They leave a lot of their lights off too just depending on outdoor light which makes the whole place feel dark & drab. No weekend workout classes either. This place is in a great location, unfortunate it's not managed well & taken care of.

Love everything about this gym! The front desk staff are always so sweet. The personal training program is 10/10 I definitely recommended requesting Melissa! It’s used equipment but that’s what makes it what it is, the cleaning crew is great and try there best every day to get it clean as possible but there’s so much they can do with no help, best vibes as soon as you walk in from everyone and greeted. The employees even remember you and your name. Once you get upstairs it’s amazing definitely during the sunrise and sunset!!! This place is trying as hard as they can but you can tell there no help from the owners at least.

If I could give this company a negative review I would. They canceled my membership, because I took a picture of myself in the gym. A lady complained to management that I took a picture of her. This was a total lie. I even showed the lady the picture I took.
Anyway now they are trying to collect $320.00 from me for training. I only had one training, before they canceled my membership. Training was $75.00 per session. Which I thought was high, but I did it anyway. Anyway, they are unethical company and just want to rip off everyone.
Stay away from them. There are good gyms out there, this is not one of them.

Even though my 3 month contract had ended, and I had written an email saying I no longer wish to continue there, I was charged AGAIN. I was told a refund would be issued, but it has been 7 freaking days now. Before this, I wanted to change my personal trainer plan to 3 days a week instead of 4, and continued to get charged the amount for the 4 day plan for 2 more billing cycles. 🤦‍♀️ the billing issues need to get figured out, its really frustrating. Won't be coming back because of that.

Ever wonder what happened to all the used car salesman. They started a fitness company called Crunch. If lemon laws apply to gyms this would be the motherload. They do not automatically assume that once you stop coming in, you've stopped using the gym. However rather than call you and ask, they're going to charge you & collect interest. Not only that, but if you join as a family beware you have individual accounts so they can charge each one of you interest individually. You ask to speak to a invisional manager or regional manager that were free to corporate New York, which is a recording machine.Good luck getting hold of real person. The only thing bulking up here are the ones in charge. Their fitness program includes stuffing your money into their wallets.

I went here to get a gym membership based off the recommendation of somebody else there. Just even look in the facility they expect me to release all of my personal information to them, for them to sell to whomever they like and agree to their communications waivers, and that’s not OK. I just wanted to work out and I’d be willing to sign a liability waiver but you don’t need to have all of my details to sell, not in this day and age. Really disappointing.

Hello, do you have a lap pool and can I get a day pass for today?
Yes.
Do you know if I will actually be able to use the lap pool? Are the lessons or classes today?
Oh, yeah, I don't know.
Could you find out?
I can give you a number...I wouldn't know.

I don't think that I should have to use several steps of analytical reasoning to see if I can get access to a lap pool.

THE WORST LOCATION IN THE VALLEY.
1st of all they just randomly open late. And when they are open no one is at the front desk. I’ve witnessed many people just walk in. (So what am I paying for?)
2. Do they own a vacuum and window cleaner? Probably not. Same with the locker rooms and sauna
3. Trainers will tell you to use equipment that’s already in use to avoid “dropping weights”..
4. Water filter is never changed
Place needs either new manager or a new cleaning crew.

My family and I hired a physical therapist to help rehabilitate a considerably disabled special needs family member who has been largely sedentary for 15+ years. Despite being a fall risk insurance discharged her 6 weeks later, so we decided to hire a personal trainer. We landed with Jay Rahl.

For context, my family member had to have someone hold both her hands so she could step over the cement thing at the end of a parking space in September AFTER physical therapy ended. After working with Jay 1-2/wk since January she is now walking up and down stairs without using the hand rail, doing squats with a 35 lb weight, and doing cardio for 15+ minutes for the first time in her life.

Additionally, Jay has found a series of exercises for at home use that stimulate regions of her brain where she has debilitating brain damage. Jay has far, far far exceeded our expectations and improved her quality of life. Not just physically, mentally we have seen improvements in her mood and attitude. We are so excited to see her overcoming the neurological decline we have been battling for years.
If I could give 10 stars for Jay and this gym I would.

Update: 04/02/25 - Absolutely nothing has changed.

This place is absolutely disgusting and unclean. They have not thoroughly cleaned this gym in years. The restrooms are disgusting, the air vents are so caked with dirt it’s unfathomable. Any customer that goes here needs to start stepping up and complain. “Preston” has been notified multiple times about the disgusting conditions and he refuses to do anything about it. This place is gross. I suggest trying “Axiom” down the way.

I used to be a member when it was Idaho Athletic Club and when Crunch first bought the business. I cancelled my membership when Covid broke out because I noticed a lack of cleanliness and decided to focus ok exercising at home. I decided to give crunch another shot the other day and have to say it doesn’t seem like a single thing was cleaned since I was last in about 4 years ago. The air in the building gets very musty and there’s a slight hint of “sweaty feet” smell that you just can’t seem to shake. I didn’t want to touch anything because again it didn’t feel like anyone had wiped anything down in years. Outside of that the equipment is all falling apart, if you can even find what you’re looking for anyway (looking at you cable attachments).

When I signed up I was told by Preston who claims to be the manager of all the clubs in the valley that I had 30 days to decide if the gym was a good fit for me without any cancelation fees, but there’s apparently a catch. If you try to cancel anytime after 3 days you not only get the privilege of paying for this month but also for next month because as the nice associate Sean I spoke to put it, “you made a commitment”.

So buyer BEWARE if you want to sign up here you’re looking at a minimum 2 months payment even if you’re only a member for a few days. I’d suggest finding yourself a better gym that takes pride in keeping things clean and the equipment functional, might I suggest Idaho Fitness Factory.

This is a pretty large gym. Some of the equipment is pretty worn out. Even the floor is worn out. The gym isn’t a full court. The biggest plus to the gym that others done have is the sauna. That thing is great. Everything else is pretty old. Other downfall is that open late on Saturday. Lots of people’s routines start at 6am but these guys don’t open till 7 or 8am. That’s crazy

On the plus side, the staff is great. Always helpful and always there. They have stuff you can grab to eat for protein. They also have a lack of machines. Either way, I’d love to give them a 3.5 but a 4 review will work. Thanks guys

When we joined Crunch we were asked by a fitness coach if we wanted help to work out and form a workout plan. I asked the trainer if there was a contract on which he he lied to me and said "no." He told my wife and I we could train for $75 dollars extra and we could do that twice a month. Later, I was told by the manger I was told wrong and that I signed a contract that I needed to pay. Moreover, we decided to cancel our membership and they continued to charge our account monthly for over a year after asking them to stop payment. I finally stopped payment with my bank, and then we started getting harassing telephone calls from East Indians who work from India in credit services for Crunch telling us we could not cancel our membership over the phone, we were receiving emails, and harassing letters that we would be turned into collections, but again we could pay the late fees and membership up to date and cancel the membership.

So we went down to the facility in Nampa and met with Eric the General Manager and an associate who took our payment after being told to pay late fees and one more months club fees because we had to give a 30 day notice our membership would then be closed. We have the letter that says our account is paid in full and that we owed nothing,

After the end of that month Eric did not honor what he told us we had to do to cancel the membership, but said we need to give another 30 day notice, pay more late fees and pay another month's membership. Now we have been receiving two and three times a day, harassing phone calls again from India telling us that we need to pay more. In addition, they keep emailing and calling us saying we owe more late fees and have to give another 30 day notice in person again.
After sending the receipt of paid in full and reminding Eric what he told us he has acted like we did not speak to him by phone or email him, or speak to him person, but instead started the harassing phone calls again and emails informing us we have to pay more late fees and and membership dues. This continues to occur month after month. Enough is enough. My suggestion, do not chose Crunch Fitness for your fitness needs, I have met several other people who have encountered the same treatment from this Gym .

Absolute thievery, you can't cancel the membership anywhere except in the store and nobody except the manager can cancel your membership of $40 a month! And the manager is only there at certain hours during the day business hours when everyone works! Absolutely unacceptable, reprehensible These practices will be illegal very soon. Gym memberships are a scam.

“Use your head for more than a hatrack.”
I am aware that there is at least one staff member at the Crunch fitness location in Nampa who needs to enhance their cognitive abilities and professionalism. When I explicitly stated the cancellation of my memberships 30 days ago today, I would not have returned today to inquire about the one-month membership fee charge, only to receive an inadequate excuse that the cancellation only applied to one membership, which is self-evident. Perhaps this staff member did not find my request to cancel the membership perplexing; one would hope.

I dont even know where to begin with this dump. If you're a beginner or have very little motivation, this might be a good place for you. If you like a poor variety of outdated equipment, go here. If you prefer to spend 50 minutes out of an hour sitting on your phone on the 1 machine that does a specific exercise, you'll fit right in.
This place is rundown and disgusting. Its probably a good thing i can't get a good workout and break a sweat because the showers are grotesque. Ive seen a cleaner shower in a county jail. Seriously. The facility is falling apart. They have a bucket on the floor catching water leaking from the from the rusted out ductwork. Lights hanging from wires. Cables dangerously frayed out on equipment, years of dust buildup all over, dust bunnies and bugs on the floor.I have no idea where your "yearly maintenance fee" money goes. Too many peoole, too little room.
Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. Tired of wasting my time and money here, ill be cancelling.
Update: HEALTH HAZARD.. no paper towels in the restroom for 5 days straight now. Hand soap has been replaced with hand sanitizer. Same urine stains in the urinal going on 6 weeks. Air handler/dehumidifier for the pool room has been down for near a month, causing condensation to build up and drip down rusty gross water from structural supports above, onto the occupants and into the pool water.
What in the hell is going on here? I hope some changes are made before the Health Dept. does a walk thru...

Edit. 3 years later. Left Crunch about 18 months ago after canceling my membership. Noticed my account had been charged every month + maintenance fees ever since. No worries. Got the bank and lawyers handling that.
Also appears my photos got so much attention, my review was submitted to Google for removal.
3 years later. Nothings changed. I see they've abandoned fixing the dehumidifier for the pool and had some lowest bidder throw in an exhaust fan, and have neglected fixing anything else.

Place is a total joke. Oh yeah and re uploading the more popular photos of this mess. :)
Quit scamming people and you'll see less reviews like this.

Repair of equipment is terrible I've never seen cables break as much as they do at this gym. They don't clean very well. Constantly out of paper towels for drying your hand and out of soap.
Also, have to check the TP everytime you use the toilet because it is empty pretty often. One of the worst maintained gyms I've ever used.

Update: still the same!

Tried a 1 day pass to see if it was any better than my current gym and in fact it was worse. Starting out with the lady working at the front desk who was too lazy to show me where anything was even after I mentioned it was my first time to workout at Crunch. After giving myself a tour of the facilities, I started with some cardio. I found countless busted treadmills that were not even operational or just in horrible condition. I can't leave out the fact that the equipment needed some serious cleaning, very disgusting. I didn't even finish my workout at this crunch and ended up going back to Planet Fitness.
Don't waste your time or money at this dump.

I rarely ever review businesses, and if I do, it’s positive. On March 2, 2022, I came in to cancel my membership. I signed a cancel membership with a lady manager. On the form it reads “if you are within 10 days of the billing date you will be charged for the month’s dues or annual maintenance fee.” She said my card would not be charged any longer since my due date is on the 15th of every month and I was good to go. But on March 15, my credit card was charged twice. Once for the monthly fee and another for the annual maintenance fee. So I called to get a refund. This happened in March last year. I gave up trying to get a refund around winter of 2022, but before that I probably called over 30 times to front desk, emailed about the same number of times as well. I only got ahold of the general manager 2 times on the phone and he only emailed me back maybe 5 times. When I did speak to him he would say: I don’t know what’s going on like he forgot and “researched” what’s going on and said oh it looks like we created two accounts for you the day you signed up; one had your credit card info and the other didn’t. The one we cancelled was the one without the credit card info. He said that he officially cancelled the other account and had put a refund request in and would “let me know”. 9/10 times when I would call the front desk the person would say the manager would be “in a meeting, “out”, or “on a break” and that he would call me back. I never got any calls back. So a year later(update: almost 3 years) they still took the money and haven’t refunded me and it’s not hurting me but I feel that people should know what might happen if they sign up and get wrongly charged. Awhile after I posted this review a manager finally* called me and said something like I’m not sure what went on with the previous manager but I will get this refund processed for you and asked me to take this review down. I said I would after I got the money back and I never did 😂 I know I won’t get it back at this point but the amount of times it’s been done to customers here is crazy

It's ok here. They have some equipment that stays broken and don't fix it. For example, they have 2 smith racks, one of them hasn't worked properly for over a year. The other thing is the cleanliness is... eh. Sometimes they clean and sometimes they don't. The last issue I had here is that the A/C doesn't really work. It's so hot here in the summer that it's crazy. It smells like crazy nasty body odor in there since it's so hot. The positives are that they do have a good selection of equipment and the staff is typically pretty nice. And just so you know, I had a membership here for 3+ years. So, my review is legit. If they fixed the A/C, maintained equipment a little better and cleaned more often, it would be a 5 star review.

Place was good until today.
Haven't had issues until today(sunday). I was dancing in the studio room around closing time(20 minutes left) and an employee comes in all aggressive saying "20 minutes dancing *whatever*." I said okay and he just keeps repeating it with a raised voice and says "do you understand what I'm saying!?" As if i didnt just answer him. Some other guy comes in 2 minutes after and the same employee comes in acting all friendly saying "looking good, 20 minutes brother." The difference in attitude and treatment is crazy... I don't wanna pull the race card(I'm asian) but why else would you keep repeating the same thing over and over again and then proceed to say aggressively "do you understand what I'm saying"...
*employee was an old short white male btw*
I've had no issues with any other employee there 🤦‍♂️

The gym itself is okay, but trying to cancel a membership with crunch is ridiculous!

I’ve called and emailed numerous times and they have yet to cancel it. If you’re interested in going but don’t want to be a lifetime member I suggest you look elsewhere!

Recently my one year contract came to a close and I specifically asked that it not be renewed. They proceeded to charge me for another one year contract ($76.30). After multiple attempts at trying to contact the manager, who’s been out sick all week, I had gotten zero help or communication about said charge. I asked that the message be passed to another manager and my original contract be sent to me so that I may review it. Staff had told me twice they would call back with updated information on if they could or could not reach the other managers. The original manager of Crunch fitness in Nampa finally reached out to me today with a short email stating “We have gone ahead and processed the cancellation of the membership but will not be refunding anything.” STILL NO CONTRACT SENT TO ME. The communication at this gym is awful, and they are highly inconsiderate of their members. Let’s also not forget the machines and bathrooms are filthy. 0/10 do not recommend Crunch Fitness in Nampa.

It appears to be clean & fairly well maintained, but I feel a little unwelcome at this location. I much prefer the Meridian location. The staff & clientele are much warmer, kinder, & more understanding towards me & my Autistic son.
While the Nampa location has a pool side bathroom, it is kept locked. I was told that it is for the swim school. Otherwise, it would be ideal for special needs individuals with caretakers of the opposite gender.
I would also prefer if they didn't play music in the pool room. Swimmers often appreciate the peace & quiet. But that's just my opinion.
Also, the swim school includes small, poolside changing rooms. However, if you're in the pool (at that end of the pool) you can see into those rooms.
I should note that the pool is a comfortable (though warm for lap swimming) & they have pool side shower heads. They don't have a hot tub.
I hope my review is helpful. God bless!

Very unhappy with the cancellation process. I moved away from the area and called to try and cancel my membership, I was told to send an email for cancellation, which I did. I never got a sort of response and they never cancelled my membership and I keep getting charged for it. You try and call and no one answers the phone so what are you supposed to do at that point? I can’t go in to cancel in person, but apparently no one is willing to help and I’ll just continue to get charged $44 a month for a gym I can not use.. very frustrating.

be wary about contracts and cancelation of membership. I emailed to have my membership canceled as they don’t let you come in to the physical gym and cancel. I heard nothing for two weeks and finally emailed again. Still nothing so I called the gym and asked them about it. They confirmed with me on the phone that it was canceled. Fast forward two months and I notice on my bank statement that I’m still being charged. I call the gym and they tell me my membership hasn’t been canceled. I tell them I have the emails requesting cancelation two months prior and ask for a refund. The manager tells me that she can see it was a mistake on their end and tells me to send an email to corporate explaining the situation and asking for a refund. I email them and hear nothing. So I call and talk to another manager and he says that because I never got an actual email confirming my cancelation, he can’t do anything. I explain that my membership was confirmed canceled by an employee on the phone two months prior and tell him to look my my attendance to the gym which has been zero for the past two months because I was told it had been canceled. He says something about sending it up the ladder to corporate but that I shouldn’t expect to get a refund or response from them. I was with this gym for years and was disappointed by the way this situation was handled..

Poor customer service I canceled my membership due to the fact they have broken equipment 24/7 and seem to never be clean and then they continued to charge me an annual fee so I called to ask why and emailed to cancel again and the proceeded to say they have a 30 day cancellation policy and charged me again. Be careful joining them unless you want to keep your membership forever.

Lockers and locker rooms/bathrooms are never cleaned. The tanning beds are disgusting, the staff doesn't seem to care about anything not working right. Childcare is inconvenient and inconsistent. Classes are at few and between as well as scheduled when most people cannot get to them. The equipment is up to par only because customers share care for it. Only good part is the exercise equipment works and other members are good people.

Facility is decent enough, but low on the value scale. Even though they offer month to month, you have to jump through hoops to cancel your membership. Nate the manager certainly does not have the professional skills to be in his position. When sending an email to inquire about my membership as required, since you cannot do it over the phone or even in person, he responded and addressed me as "hey". When I emailed him back and told him I gave them exactly a 30-day notice as required, they did not say 31 days, received no response. Is it really worth the energ to fight for $30.. Probably not. But I don't see how a business model like that is sustainable especially if enough people put it out there and make it known to the public.

I'm 73 and signed up to use the pool for exercise. Easier on the joints. I was not told you could not use the pool when they were giving swimming lessons. I was to the understanding that they had to leave one lane for gym members. I went in this morning and was staying at one end of the pool and actually had them giving swimming lessons around me at one point. So I went to the far lane that didn't have anyone in it, only to almost injure myself on a platform I didn't know was in the water at the far end. This is not right. Members should be able to use the pool. I am not happy.

Tyler Jones has been my personal trainer for several months. When I first came to Crunch my initial goal was to gain strength after recovery from a near death illness. First goal was to simply gain balance to walk up and down stairs without falling.

Meeting Tyler has been a life changing experience for me. Tyler is patient, kind and knowledgeable about the human body and how it performs. Tyler has a way of being challenging and encouraging at the same time.

I would recommend Tyler to anyone who wants to improve their life and have fun while doing it. Chris

This is the dirtiest gym I’ve ever been to. On several occasions there has been no soap in the bathrooms and no hand sanitizer. The equipment looks like it’s been handed down for generations and the floor looks like an unkept barber shop floor with lint and hair in piles. It sucks lying down anywhere in there. Why is this location the only one like this? I went to two of Boise’s locations and one in Reno last month and it seems like Crunch needs to take a look at this Nampa location with regard to its franchise reputation. The 2 stars I gave are for its location next to my house and the staff are pretty cool.

Signed a non contractual agreement to use the gym. Can’t cancel. When I do I get harrased or told to come in. When I come in to cancel the manager is busy or not at work. Cancelled with my bank and now I’m getting harrased by Indian telemarketers to pay my bill. Now I’m getting emails that I can’t cancel until the bill is paid. This company is a joke. Bad service. Bad customer service. No management. No integrity. Closed during Covid. Required staff and gym patrons to wear masks. Stopped going because of this.

We are very happy with the customer service. We had a very complicated problem with billing from prior mismanagement by prior employees. We cannot say enough good things about how current management took the time to listen and realize the seriousness of the prior management errors and then took aggressive action to correct. Thank you for your attention to detail and professionalism. Overall, the gym has a cleaner look and feel to it, definitely a difference since last year. Equipment looks and feels as though it is definitely in better working condition and better variety than once was there. Thanks again for helping us out as you have earned our business. Special thanks to Nate and Sierra.

The gym itself is a pretty nice place, I always enjoyed my workouts here. Plenty of good equipment to use.

Where my frustrations lie is the service end. I sent an email on June 14th to cancel my membership, as I was told to do over the phone. I've received additional charges in July and August. When I called this morning, I was told the account was still listed as active, and there was nothing they could do about it other than to cancel it now, but I could still use the membership through September. Doesn't really do anything for me, I didn't want the benefits of membership, I wanted to save money right now. Thanks for stealing $75 from me, I guess? Not a place I'd recommend to anyone with this level of service.

Edit: received a call from Nate, who was super awesome in identifying and fixing the problem. A refund request was made. Thanks to Nate for making things right!

I canceled my account May 31 because I was no longer using my membership. I feel that because I canceled at the end of May I shouldn't have been charged for the month of June. Not only did I get charged for June but I also got charged for July and August because they never canceled my account in the 1st place. They are submitting a refund request but only for July and August. When an account is canceled anywhere else even if it is the last day of the month you don't have to pay for another month for another month of unwanted services.
