No customer service from the people behind the counter. I know it’s a gym and I shouldn’t need a lot of attention but they just want to stand behind the counter. Maybe they have been instructed to. I don’t know. And maybe that’s just my experience. I will still be a loyal customer. It’s still a nice place to workout.

Yuck yuck yuck. Not a gym you want to go to . One room, uncomfortable .. crowded .. snobs at the desk just stand there all day and stare at you . They don’t help with nutrition or anything . Their classes cost a ton of money .. no yoga just some body flow class. Bad choices of classes in general. Childcare sucks and they have like 30 kids and two people watching them that happen to be rude kids themselves. They lie to your face . Sry away from golds . Go to axion or crunch . Or anything else . Just because it says golds gym doesn’t mean it’s a good gym .

I have really enjoyed going to Gold's gym. I really love the group glasses offered here. The child care staff is also very nice and caring. I've had a good experience with this gym. The facility is nice, staff is friendly, and other members tend to be friendly too.

I ended up cancelling my membership at the beginning of last year because I was going to Asana. I noticed way after the fact that I was still being billed.

My previous experience with gyms had been that they make their money this way. Idaho Athletic for example, had forced me into a 2-year contract after I cancelled because I couldn't find my cancellation paperwork and their records showed that I only froze my account.

Gold's was a much more positive experience. Chris responded to my request and refunded me for the time after I had cancelled.

Racist owners who don't even care to hide it. Told them I would like to speak outside since our conversation was over the phone and he calls cops on me. But had no problem killing my membership based on lies even when I had proof and witnesses. Even asked would he please look at cameras so he could see the truth, since the eye in the sky don't lie. Gym itself is nice and clean. However recently they employed a trainer who charged a bunch of the members for the coming month and then skipped town. When talking to the staff we were told that because she was an outside contractor paying to be there it pretty much wasn't their responsibility. What they don't seem to take into consideration is that had they not brought her in we wouldn't have been using her as a service. Out $300 and left with a really bad taste for the gym. We are currently looking to find another gym that hopefully will stand behind what they offer.

My husband and I are new to this Gold's. George was great with signing us up. We had some issues getting out of our old gym's contract and he was helpful and kind about it. He even gave us longer guest passes so we could workout at Gold's while we worked on getting out of our old contract. We've been taking Studio classes with Katie and love it. The classes are a great challenge that leaves us feeling really good. Katie pays attention to everyone in the class and makes sure your form is right while pushing you to do your best. Seriously, what more could you want while you're getting your butt kicked? The gym is clean and affordable. I love that it's 24 hours and we can take other classes at a reasonable rate too.

I tried a 10 day pass for my wife and I and my wife loved it. I decided today to sign her up while I finish my old gym membership. My concern was with the startup cost just because I couldn't at the time afford it. George cut the fee down for me and went above and beyond. On top of that I told him I'd add myself on August 1 once my membership at the previous gym was up since I didn't want to pay 2 memberships. In the meantime I'd willingly workout alone at my old gym. He made me a temp pass all the way to August 1 starting today June 12 without me in any way soliciting it. How great is that? Past experiences with gyms are night and day in terms of sign up and general willingness to help you. I walked out of the gym just completely impressed with the way George handled our interaction. Bravo.

I'm traveling from ATL and in town for 2 weeks. This gym and the staff are FANTASTIC! I've been to many gyms throughout the years and Golds Meridian does it right! Super friendly, professional, welcoming, and helpful staff. Excellent equipment, atmosphere, and SPOTLESS clean from the benches to the bathrooms. Highly recommended. I rated this place at only three stars for two reasons and I'll get to that. It's your typical stencil gym where you've got aerobic and anaerobic equipment. They have a children's room for kids under 12 years old. Other than that it's pretty basic. So I would have given it four stars because it's clean and bright and affordable. But I was waiting over a half hour for a staff member to tell me about a membership before leaving because I was told he left for the day. And they require you to sign a contract. If you try it out for a month and find you don't like it, or if you move and there is no other Gold's where you are going, you are stuck paying out that contract.

I am so sick of getting ripped off by greedy jerks. The owner of this gym won't honor his own contracts!! I signed a contract with them before they even opened, so I got a great price. Later, I wanted to use the kids club to watch one of my girls while I worked out. They said it would be another 10 a month to use the kids club. I have been going there for nearly 4 years now. They changed the hours of the kids club, so I cant use it at all anymore. So I went to go remove the kids club from my membership. They said that my monthly fee wouldn't change, at all. I get fewer benefits, for the same price. Flat refused to honor the monthly membership fee in the origial contract. Then they said I would also have to sign a new one year contract, and pay a new enrollment fee?!?! I'm sorry, so I have to pay more when I downgrade my membership? And I've been enrolled for years so what is this ridiculous enrollment fee for? So I told him that obviously I am not interested in downgrading if I have to pay more and get less. And not honoring my orginal contract is awful customer service, not to metion illegal. He said "well, we wouldnt make money if we gave everyone that price." Come on man, that's literally not a thing, Your point is meaningless. You are obviously not giving everyone that price, just the people you SIGNED A CONTRACT WITH 4 YEARS AGO! The owner has zero ability to solve problems. You try to talk to him and he can't hear anything but himself. No compromise. Just dismissal. He arbitrarily invents new rules and thinks he can force everyone into them. Don't give these jerks your business.

The equipment is pretty good. Doesnt seem dirty. They only have like six channels on the cardio tvs, which SUX, because how much news or HGTV can someone really get into while working out? This gym has changed my life. Not only do they have a friendly, compassionate, and knowledgeable staff they have wide variety of equipment and features to offer. Worst experience ever! Went in to cancel my gym membership because of horrible service prior to me canceling! A guy at the desk was busy on his phone and was very short with me. I stated to him I needed to cancel my membership he wrote down my info and proceeded on his texts. I walked away thinking things were done. Now 6 months later after a rude call from their financial dept and a threatening letter from their attorneys they are telling me I owe $105 and they are telling me I have to pay $100 or they will turn it into the credit bureau no payment arrangement is acceptable! Run do not use these criminals they have horrible service!

I'm not one to give bad reviews but we signed up for the gym ( my understanding it wasn't a contract) the person helping was super excited to get me ans my husband started up. He failed to advise me that it was indeed a contract (he works in customer service he should have explained everything to me). Unfortually me and my husband has to freeze the account because we had family issues come up, well they failed to let us known that when you freeze your account the year starts all over we unfrozen it in November so out "contract" would end in November instead of May. I absolulty hate customer service that fails to tell the customer the full run down of how it goes. When I froze it they should have explained it to me that it starts over and when I signed up they explained ot wasn't a contract and i wasn't tired down because if that was the case i would have never signed up.

I lOVE coming here. I can get in and get out, even during the busier times of the day. The people who go here are friendly, and so are the staff! Having child watch included in my already inexpensive monthly due is outstanding too! I appreciate that feature a lot. My fiancé and I both have a membership with Gold's. We had been going through a lot of things lately and he and I stopped working out for a while. Then we forgot about the monthly payments. We went in today to find out how much we owe and found out the price. The young man at the counter( I didn't catch his name) was very understanding, respectful, enjoyed dealing with our past due balance resolutions with him. He made the experience feel less bad. I felt so guilty about being behind on the payments but the Managers Brittney and the OM and the man at the front made us feel more like it's a human mistake and that there's nothing to worry about. They were so gracious with us by removing the late fees and even if we didn't pay the full amount today they would allowed us to work out. Very good people, fun staff, great management, and above all the gym is very welcoming. It has all the machines, weights, and etc. needed in a gym. Always clean and kept up. I LOVE Golds gym. I have never had a bad or even mediocre experience with them!

Very dirty. On 2 of the three occasions I used the shower facilities there was an actual large pile of human feces in the shower. On the third occasion I did not check but someone else had been noticing because someone put up signs warning of the dangers. The place looks nice but the men's locker facilities must not be cleaned very often for feces to be that much of a problem. Additionally the hot water selections on the showers do not work, and the promise that they would have someone walk me through the facility upon signing up never did take place. I spoke with management he offered to have someone get with me to show me around the Gym. Manager admitted to the poop problem and assured me that all would be taken care of. For the second time they did not make good on their offer to show me around the gym -- the problem seems systemic from management down. I cannot recommend this place and am regretting paying for a one year membership. The membership was cheap but not worth the hepatitis risk. The good reviews must be posted by the company themselves because the glaring defects cannot be ignored from the very beginning.

I was NOT a gym go-er but a friend got me a trial membership. I am SO glad this was my first experience with a gym. The gym itself is perfect. There have the basics in a really useable and upbeat atmosphere, they keep it cool and have fans, they play good music and have a SUPERB staff. I lost 30 pounds from diet and exercise. I never personally used one of the trainers there, but many, if not all, of them congratulated me on my success and encouraged me to keep going all through out my journey to getting fit. I move to Boise and the ONLY thing I miss is my gym :-( Please open one down here!

PS- if you're scared to go like I was....they have a room that is just right for you!! It's the cinema room. Its a big, cool, dark room with a giant movie screen always playing a great movie loud enough to block your heavy breathing noises but not damage your ear drums! I his there and learned how to use the equipment in relative privacy until I felt comfortable enough with myself to venture out among the really fit group of people that I later became!

My wife was a member here, and under the direction and support of the former manager, Chelsea, she was able to set goals and achieve some pretty substantial milestones for herself following her car accident. My wife looked forward to checking in with Chelsea and the encouragement that she provided to my wife was extremely beneficial during a tumultuous time in her life during her recovery. After not seeing her there for about a week, my wife inquired with an employee there to find out where her friend and motivator had been. To my wife's dismay, it was revealed to her that this location unethically terminating Chelsea because they, "couldn't afford to pay her." My wife was absolutely crushed and fell into some pretty deep depression following this revelation, which took nearly a month to overcome. I would hope that there are some businesses in this world that still value the human-element, rather than just the bottom line. My wife has since cancelled her membership with Gold's Gym and started lifting somewhere else. I would encourage others to do the same, too.

MY TRAINER WAS ENCOURAGING AND INSPIRING, HELPING ME PROVE TO MYSELF THAT I AM CAPABLE OF MORE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ASH IF YOU WANT PROOF OF A BETTER YOU. GGX has all the Les Mills classes you know and love or need to know so you can fall in love. Also, my children loved the play area/child watch area and employees. Not having to herd my children thru the gym to get to the play area was a huge bonus, genius! Keep it up Golds-Meridian, I hope there are plans for expansion in the near future. One more thing THANK YOU for playing great workout music!!! A lot of 90s and newer rock with rhthym. No techno or awkward pop ballads, good choice.

Not very happy with the fact that after I cancelled I was still billed even though I gave them well over a 30 day notice. Rude staff and very crowded.

I'll give them two stars for their competitive enrollment rates, but aside from that, dishonest is all I have to say. Not spending another minute of my time or another dime at Gold's.

I was always hesitant about joining a gym because of the long contracts. Gold's gym is affordable with no long term annoying contract. I also never wanted to train with a trainer because it seemed intimidating. Gold's has a trainer named Kevin that I would recommend to EVERYONE! He really listens to what my specific goals are (even to the point of asking for outside advise from his friend who owns a bow shop) and helps me achieve them. He comes up with fun ways to train that feel like games instead of workouts. He gives me the full hour and cares about me as a person, not just a number. Because of Kevin, I am going to fit into my wedding dress this summer!

Ignorant. The gym itself is very nice, but the staff will not answer any questions; especially through the phone. Do you want my membership or not? Jeesh.
