Gym is okay. Some things are awful, like the hot tub. Itβs filled with bacteria and I developed a rash every time I went in it. Finally put 2 and 2 together. No hot tub, no rash. Proper hot tub care is ignored at this gym. Itβs not that difficult to properly maintain a hot tub and itβs disappointing to see this at an otherwise decent gym
Google - βHot tub skin irritation, often called hot tub rash or hot tub folliculitis, is typically caused by the bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which thrives in warm, moist environments like poorly maintained hot tubs.β

Let me express my most sincerest gratitude and thankfulness to Kasidy the massage therapist at The Grove Hotel in Boise, Idaho.
I am attending a corporate event for my employer and had have an exhausting travel experience with no sleep the prior day before arriving. Last night I slept so sound and hard to say I had gotten a creek in my neck with so much tightness that I couldnβt move.
This Lady Kasidy came in early to accommodate me a need may I say what a win and needful experience mind, body and soul.
Thank you Kasidy for the gift that The LORD has given you to express in your work.
What an incredible experience you had given to me.
GOD BLESS YOUπ

Great place to workout. The staff keeps it clean and the keeps the machines in working order. The only thing I'd suggest is adding a sitting or standing calf raise machine.

My journey at the Grove has been amazing! Stepping into the world of personal training has been transformative. My personal trainer, AJ is an incredible trainer who is truly dedicated to my personal growth, health, and overall physical performance. When I started training with him, I was at an unhealthy 165 pounds post-COVID, feeling unmotivated and out of shape. Now, Iβm at 175 pounds, stronger, healthier, and more confident, with significant muscle gain. His motivation and deep knowledgeβespecially in kettlebell techniqueβhave been game-changers in my fitness journey. AJ pushes me to be my best while ensuring I train safely and effectively. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to transform their body and mindset!

It takes a lot for me to write a bad review, but my experience at the Grove Spa was so atrocious that I have to write this. My husband and I booked a couples' massage at The Grove Spa for a weekend "staycation," and it was one of the worst massage experiences I have ever had. Prior to our massage, neither masseuse asked us a single question about how we were feeling, whether we had any injuries, whether we wanted a particular area worked on, whether we had areas we did not work on, and no one asked if I was pregnant! They just plopped us down on the massage tables and started poking at us without asking a single question about our bodies. When we went into the massage room, the place was blasting what seemed to be some kind of medieval renaissance-fair music?? It was not relaxing at all. I asked the masseuse if they could please change the music because it made me feel like I needed to be running from something. I think my husband's masseuse left the room and just... changed the song to the next track? The exact same music played, except it was the next song on the album or something. So I laid on this massage table for an hour listening to loud ren-fair music (with a bizarre mix of waves crashing on the shore). My masseuse spent a weird amount of times on my arms-- which is not a body part that I like massaged in the first place (I would have wrote that down or told them had anyone asked me). This man squeezed the hell out of my forearms- I was physically tense on the massage bed because of how strong he gripped my forearm. I had to ask him to lighten up significantly because of how rough he was being on my arms (and I like my massages firm!). After I asked him to lighten up the pressure, he lightened up the pressure for the rest of the massage?? I had to tell him to add more pressure on my back and shoulders towards the end of the massage because it felt like he was just touching me but not really massaging. I left that massage feeling irritated and more tense than when I arrived. I am writing this review several hours later, and my forearm still hurts!! Absolutely terrible experience and I will never book another massage here again. There are far better places in Boise. The fitness area and hotel room was fine at least.

I wanted to an update after another 6 months of membership. I've been a member here off and on for years.
A few general comments:
- The smaller size and location of the gym are positives in my view. If you need to drive and park, though, it's rough. They have parking through the hotel, but it's time limited and the garage gets full and unusable if there are lots of hotel guests or events.
- The locker rooms are tiny, barely kept up (broken hooks, and doors, towels strewn about), showers are sort of just a mess (it's one big open space mostly). Also, on the mens restroom, the urinal continues to almost flood daily as it's been kind of clogged forever. You can use it, but don't flush it..
- Cardio machines are ok -- getting on the older side but work well usually
Some frustrations continue to include:
- They lease out the pool to external swim lessons, so there are large swaths of the day where the pool is basically unusable and kids are running around, screaming, parents are everywhere -- it's a mes
- It's also the hotel pool and gym, so between that, swim lessons and normal members, it's a dirty pool if we are being honest. I used to swim here, but I've run into so many gross hairs and "things" underwater that I just can't do it anymore.
- It feels like ownership has gotten a little excited post pandemic and membership growth has REALLY taken off the last few months. It's really noticeable and at peak times (4pm-7pm) it's almost impossible to get a weight workout in without massive frustrations. There's simply no space. There's one single real squat rack (the other is a smith machine type thing), a couple benches, one normal bench press ... you'll end up nearly bumping into people just trying to pick up dumbbells.
- There also seem to be some third party kettle bell trainers running private training in the gym, which further takes up space and seems to always ALSO be at peak times.
- During peak times -- FORGET about trying to even get changed in the locker room. It becomes like trying to change in an aircraft lavatory.
- I don't know if they plan to cap memberships, but I worry they won't (like all gyms, they just love the money coming in) ... and it's now teetering on not being a usable gym option just because it's so uniquely small in terms of Sq/Ft. It just doesn't handle the extra people well.
- For now I continue to go and mostly enjoy it but only because I have schedule flexibility. If I were forced to only go at after work times, it'd be a tough sell honestly.
4/5 for now -- but it's getting too crowded really quickly

Did a walkthrough last night (Jan 28th, 2023). The steam room is broken again -- waiting on parts since mid December. I counted 4+ treadmills/machines not working, also since mid December (with signs on them). The tiny locker rooms were trashed as usual. Dirty towels laying all over the floor and hanging on open locker doors. It just looks like nobody cares here. I have been a member here in the past (a few years ago) and as much as I love the location and smaller club feel, I just can't be a member of a gym with such old equipment and so much broken stuff all the time. I really wish the hotel would somehow co-invest more in this, as on a "quality and maintenance of the facility" metric, it's FAR below where a hotel guest paying the Grove rates would expect. Such a cool space and location and it's just always "barely acceptable".

When I lived in Boise and worked at CenturyLink I received a discounted membership through my health and wellness program. Sadly I moved away but chose this hotel location when I am in town, just to revisit this faculty. Extremely clean and well kept fitness club. All of their machines and equipment are state of the art. I only came for the steam room and pool, but can vouche for every aspect of this business. I am not sure if it's the same owner of the hotel, but hats off to whoever runs this place. They have too much to offer for me to say in this measly review, I highly recommend visiting their website to see everything they have to offer. I'll be back, again and again.

Terribly run gym! Always dirty and opening up late. Also, there are swim lessons given here so if you love screaming children while youβre trying to work out and enjoy what you pay for this place is for you. This gym is third party to the Grove hotel so they have no say in how horribly itβs run.

I don't know how to describe the massage I got from Christopher Williams other than to say, it was the MOST relaxing, deep tissue massage I have ever received in my 47 years. Overall super underwhelmed. I wish I didn't spend the money to stay. Valet was expensive, the hotel room itself was perfectly pleasant although it was hard to use the amenities. The signs say the pool is on the 4th floor, then you have to take the "spa and pool" elevator but it doesn't tell you which floor to take the elevator to. Not clear on how to get to the pool. I just gave up and went back to my room. Another thing that bummed me out is there was no complimentary bottled water. Also, they try to charge you for wifi. They have a complimentary connection but it is throttled down so much to promote you purchasing the higher speed for the night. Why not just stop throttling the original complimentary wifi. Little things like this make me wish I just stayed at super 8.

Received a couples massage which was very good. However, very upset that a mandatory gratuity was added to my final bill without being disclosed to me because I had already provided even more as a tip than what was added.
I looked at the receipt from the Grove Hotel and there are two line items for fitness center tips on it. Whoever is responding to this is a liar because the hotel and fitness center apparently are not as separate as you are stating. And they were not voluntary, when I asked if they could be removed, the person at the front desk said they were required!

The massage was great but......As for "the spa," I was 100% disappointed. I went in thinking I would enter a relaxing spa type space with trickling water, fancy water, or offer of champagne.....no. You take a rickety elevator to the gym where people are actively working out, and there is a "sitting area" of a few chairs and a water machine in the gym for the spa clients. The front desk for the "spa" is in the gym. Nothing fancy here. They said they will offer you a robe so you can go into the sauna/steam, but its part of the gym with other people. OH, and i think that you have to ask for the robe downstairs at the hotel front desk and take it up with you.
If you are looking to be pampered, look elsewhere.

This was the first facial I had in a very long time. I wanted to have some time for myself as working in the medical field during COVID craziness is stressful. My skin needed pampering. Tia was absolutely amazing! She was very thorough with understanding my skin type and ask several questions before hand. Something that I very much appreciate. Although I donβt have sensitive skin my skin does react differently to different types of products.
Each and every step that she did she explained what was happening and the product that she was using. She asked several times if I was uncomfortable and if at any point to please let her know. At no point was I uncomfortable or did not feel total relaxation during my facial. My skin looked absolutely radiant when she was done. I had The Signature Grove Facial and although I live in Eugene Oregon I will fly there to get this done by her again!! On a sidenote she did my eyebrows which I had never had done and they look amazing tons of compliments on my skin and my facial contouring. Thank you so much for your professionalism and warm, caring nature.

Everything was very nice and clean. The only problem is that you cannot control the customer and expect them to wipe down the machines. Too many people are accustomed to someone else cleaning up after them. I guess we all have to get in the habit of cleaning up after them or clean the machine before use. Funny story a young adult was at axiom one day and he did not wipe down his machine. I walked up to him after I cleaned it and I said to him " I tried contacting his mother to come and clean up after him but that I could not reach her, I then said, but don't worry about it, I cleaned it". He was very embarrassed and after that he cleaned his machines.

The staff was super competent and nice. The facilities dated, and worn, although clean. We were there for a couples massage and the facilities were just too awkward and dated. They are not set up to be considered a spa. They didn't have robes, or slippers (but the staff scurried to get robes). No locks provided for the locker room. To get to the dry sauna you had to walk through the fitness club, and the room was so small it felt like a converted closet. 4 stars because the massage was good and staff was awesome, 3 if I was judging off the "spa" experience as a whole.

Worst mani/pedi experience I have had. My gel manicure is like thick globs of paint with all kinds of bumps in it. My nail beds were ruined and I have a bunch of painful hangnails now. My pedicure polish must have been low quality because whenever I wear shoes with socks, the heat warms up the polish and it sticks to my socks and leaves a mark on my nails, even days later! It was not a very professional environment and I am so unhappy with the quality of the service. Very surprised the grove is allowing this level of service in their hotel. Very unhappy that I paid for nails to look this bad.

The lady was extremely clumsy and her bad breath was in my face the entire massage. The facial was ok. The mani/pedi took 2.5 hours, they didn't offer the steam room, and the mud wrap was a waste of time. Just don't do it. It's nothing like the website makes it seem.

I had an utterly amazing day at the Spa!
My mother and I visited in honor of my birthday we received body scrubs, facials and massages all of which were amazing. Misha pays amazing attention to detail and is expertly experienced in her field I couldn't say enough about how impressed I am with her facial. Sam was amazing and thorough with our sugar scrub and very kind. Our massages from Holly and Zach eliminated all stress and reminded us what a life changer a proper massage can be. We will absolutley be back with my sister, our soon Bride-to-be and I'm and so confident that they will make everything perfect. Definitely check it our for yourself you will not be dissapointed!

Well-equipped for both regulars and travelers, the Grove FCS offers a plethora of fitness equipment for any type of gym-goer. As a fitness-enthusiast staying at the Grove Hotel, I was pleasantly-surprised to see they even had a squat rack! In my time traveling, it's rare that a hotel-affiliated gym offers anything beyond basic free weights and maybe a machine or two at best. But this location offers a comprehensive suite of free weights, machines, and a smith machine and squat rack for those who need them. Before I arrived in the Boise-area, I was doing extensive searching for the most well-equipped gyms to pay for a week's membership during my stay in the city. But it looks like the Grove came through, and made my life much less complicated! Staff was friendly enough, and the gym is free for Grove guests!

Fitness center was great for a hotel! Staff was nice but on her phone while we were talking to her. We had a massage and a facial scheduled and the esthetician didnβt show up for the facial. The locker room was cold and dark. Not nice and not relaxing. Spa room was small and no robes were provided. We ended up cancelling our appointment as soon as we saw the spa and the spa area. Very disappointing.

Worst... and Iβm nice. So I booked a package for a massage and pedicure because I was low on time and needed both done, but could have gone to another place if they were booked. They finished my massage and Then notified me my nail tech was booked incorrectly and couldnβt fit me in. So I wasted my time and over priced massage money on my day off. Iβll stick with my professionals.

Got a couples massage with my wife for her birthday. It was an amazing experience. The staff was very friendly and professional and the gym facilities looked up to date. The pool area is nice and comes with everything. They even have swimming classes for my 6 year old. I'll definitely be going back.

I joined the Grove Fitness Club last February and immediately loved the atmosphere as well as the friendly and helpful staff members. Although Grove isn't the size of some of larger chain gyms, it has all of the equipment a person needs to pursue his or her fitness goals (whatever they may be).
For the past six weeks, I've been working with one of Grove's personal trainers, Jacob Clifton. I was completely blown away by his willingness to always go the extra mile for his clients. He asked about my personal fitness goals and tailor-made engaging, challenging, and (most of all) effective sessions. Although I spend the same amount of time each week at the gym, I've seen more impressive results over the past month of training than I did from the prior six months. Above all, working with Jacob has helped me gain a sense of confidence that is starting to show in all areas of my life. Jacob takes absolute joy in seeing his clients progress; I would say that's a major reason he's so effective as a trainer.
