After a YEAR of broken treadmills, they finally replaced everything. Then instantly announced that they're doubling the monthly membership, but keeping the $40 annual fee. The gym just simply isn't worth the cost anymore.

When equipment breaks, it’s basically broken for good with an “out of order” sign on it. They have a $40 annual “maintenance” fee in addition to the monthly fee, it’s CLEARLY not going to keeping the equipment in good shape, so where’s it going?

Only allowing guests during staffed hours is a big detractor. Also, the facility at this location is poorly ventilated so they leave the emergency exit door open during the day. This completely defeats the purpose of having controlled access to the location and the emergency exit also happens to be located immediately next to the lockers which are not located inside a restroom.

The equipment is mostly new and in decent repair. I have not seen anything broken yet, although there appear to be many reviews stating equipment goes down for long periods of time.

During peak hours there isn’t much room, only a few squat racks available and the floor isn’t very large.

All in all, it’s a pretty middle of the road gym. I am a member solely out of location convenience, though I am tempted to go back to making a 20min bike commute to and from Axiom in East Boise again, as the lack of physical security at this gym and its proximity to the center of the homeless population in Boise is a significant detractor.

Edit: In light of the business's response, I think it is obvious that touting "for your safety" and then making the suggestion that I could close an emergency exit door instead of addressing the problem is a publicity tactic that wreaks of disingenuity.

I worked out here years ago, and it's despicable the people they hire. You need to improve. I agree with other homie saying it's a money laundering site. Nothing else makes sense for how poorly this business is run.

EDIT- While I graciously appreciate your welcome back, I live in Florida so I doubt you'll see my membership again. I'm glad you are so profitable to go from 1 location to 10!!! Probably the worst gym I've ever been to. I went to meridian n McMillan and chinden locations for several years. They were ok. Nothing great but decent I guess. State st is bad. Cables are way outdated, serious lack of equipment and everything is outdated. If meridian costs $35 this location should be $20.

I just walked into the State street location and I asked the gentleman who helped me, the prices for membership. He was not kind, like why would I ask that question. He gave me a sour look. I asked if I could look around and he said, sure if you want. He didn't even offer me a tour of the facility. I looked around and left. Was not a good feeling.

Been a member on and off for about 3 years. Just switched to this location now that I work downtown. Not bad! As always, nice and patient staff and clean bathrooms. Older machines than the Fairview location which I was just getting used to (after I struggled to get used to them lol). So I don’t mind the older machines here!

I would give negative stars if I could, this establishment is very unprofessional. I had called back in November to cancel my membership; the individual working said they'd cancel it for me. Well, I look at my bank statements and low and behold, my membership hadn't been canceled, and my account was charged $110 for my membership I was told was canceled months ago. I called today, spoke to an associate named Tiffany and she said I needed to fill out the cancelation form through my email, I submitted the form. But, as I told Tiffany, I never received this form back in November when I initially had called to cancel. They refused to refund my account even though this was a reckless mistake made by one of their associates. Highly unprofessional, I needed that money to pay my power bill.

I’ve been enjoying working out here. They’ve really been proactive about keeping the place clean during the covid pandemic and have made rags and cleaner readily available to that patrons can do their part. Lots of hand sanitizer. I like that it’s open 24/7. If it had rubber plates and deadlift platforms I would give it five stars.

The 24/hr access accompanied with clean restrooms, equipment, fresh towels for wiping down equipment, along with an accountable staff, makes this place a wonderful gym to loose weight, or just stay in shape. This gym has a cost effective model for the average person to afford. That being said, it is one of the best gyms in town minus a pool or spa area.

Great gym. No complaints. It's not the biggest and baddest, but for only $15 a month, you can't really complain. It has all of the equipment I need for my workouts. (Which is fairly basic to be honest. Take that for what you want.) It's clean, and the staff is friendly. Go check it out!

This place is absolutely amazing! Not long does my 25$ monthly fee include unlimited equipment for exercising, but it also includes a level 3 tanning bed that I am welcome to use as often and for as long as I’d like. One of my all time favorite things about the gym is that it also offers yoga, and Zumba. They have a list of classes they do for free for there members, or you’re welcome to use the yoga room witch has a touch screen automated system where you’re able to do yoga from a flatscreen in a secluded room! This gym is 24 HOURS. BEST GYM IVE EVER BEEN TO HANDS DOWN. Also, they don’t have contracts. Best gym in Boise for sure!

The best gym I ever quit! I know it's weird writing about leaving a gym, but I find the cancellation process to be a good metric of how a business is run. If a gym tries to add in surprise cancellation fees or make you pay for extra months, or makes you feel bad about quitting. That is NOT a good gym!

I'm pleased to report that the act of quitting IFF was SUPER easy and it indicates they are a great gym. The staff was friendly as always, and we even joked around as I signed the cancellation document.

Why did I quit? It's not because of the gym. This is probably the best gym I've gone to. It has great equipment, awesome free weight section, two squat racks, and a punching bag. Everyone is super nice, and the staff makes you feel like one of the family. The only reason I quit is because I moved about 3 blocks from the YMCA. In this case, I would rather just walk to the Y rather than drive 10 minutes to IFF.

I'm very confident that if I ever get sick of the Y I will be back at IFF because it is so awesome.

The staff are super friendly and helpful. The gym is mid sized so that someone beginning or uncomfortable can feel less overwhelmed, however it doesn't feel crowded. The cost per month is amazing and without a contract it's easy to leave without feeling stressed.

I love the gym. All of the employees have amazing customer service! I have been with the gym since opened the State St location. I can't imagine going anywhere else. I have done the group classes which were so fun and a great workout. I recommend the gym to anybody!

Idaho Fitness Factory on State St is great. Plenty of space. I love the two additional rooms, especially the big one in back with a wide range of kettle bells and plenty of room for jump roping or push ups. Even during the busy winter months there is plenty of machines and weights available.

This is a fantastic gym, perfect for my husband and I. We like to do a little bit of everything, from cardio to box jumps to dead lifts to yoga... this gym has it all!
They let us try a class for free and we both ended up loving it! The big windows on the front of the building allow sunlight to come through so you have natural light while you're on the cardio equipment.. It even faces a TacoBell so it gives you something to work for. Overall a great gym!
