Great staff and very good facility! A lot of options for free weights and machines ( you can mix up your sets) room in the back for those who enjoy calisthenic type of exercises.

People from all walks of life frequent this gym, so I don’t think you see the same “gym pressures” that you would at other facilities

I Will say Madison is an exceptional host and manager, she goes above and beyond to make sure new members are treated well and given the right information to achieve their fitness goals

When I first started going here over 2 years ago the employee Austin told me he was best friends with the owner .. and gave me my membership for free because I was friends with him. I didn’t ask for it to be for free but he insisted and put it on my accounts.. Why would I question it if he kept repeating he’s best friends with the owner ?Anyways. Still paid the yearly fee these past 3 years (that doesn’t go towards anything) the new “remodel is they painted” no new equipment and it’s been 3 years now. I only went to fit club for maybe a year and switched back to Axiom due to better equipment... I still paid the yearly fees without going there which is fine whatever. But then all a sudden this year (July) I started getting charged $19.99 per month without any email, or call to let me know and like I said .. I haven’t been to this gym in over a year and I moved across town. Yes I didn’t “cancel” which they say they aren’t a contract club but they do require in person to sign a paper… even if you moved. Anyways…I haven’t been in over a year so the fact they decided the last few months to start charging me without saying anything is ridiculous. Glad I went in to cancel. Your money isn’t going towards new equipment it’s the same as the past 3 years and probably before I went here. New paint job is the new remodel.

The gym itself is disappointing. It’s frequently messy, often lacks basic amenities like towels, and the equipment is outdated. Even after explaining my situation and the family emergency that prevented payment, they refused to work with me and instead insisted on enforcing these unjust fees.

Do yourself a favor and look for a gym that values its members and offers fair policies. Avoid this place if you want straightforward, fair service!

My wife and I have been using the Vista location for years. For a while it seemed like the forgotten stepchild. However lately with a new partner they have been going thru a major upgrades.

It is now refreshed with fresh paint, murals painted on the walls, bright aluminum panels. Best of all everything is clean and inviting.

With more staffed hours it seems so friendly and safe.

I would like to say Johnny's is my favorite gym. There we have equipment not found in other gyms like Peletons and Matrix machines.

Extremely limited space, small parking lot, rude owner. Used to be decent a few years ago but they've moved locations a couple times and now it's just way to many machines and too little space.

Spend the extra money and go to a professional gym. Or do calisthenics and save the money altogether.

UPDATE: They are trying to bill me again 6 months after I CANCELLED. Now saying that I have to A. Tell them where I live now. or B. Come into town (80 miles away) to sign some "paperwork".

PLEASE don't go into business with this fallen franchise.

I had been apart of Johnnys Fit Club for about 5 years and i really enjoyed my time there up until overland location shut down. I went and checked out the Vista location and thought i would give it a try before canceling it which i did for a couple months. Honestly this gym is just bad. There is no locker rooms, there is black tarp in the back hanging up, the layout is just not set up good. it is trashy. i decided to just keep going since it was pretty small and i liked that about the gym then the guy who runs this location made extremely rude comments.He accused me of sneaking in a “non member” and cussed him out and was being extremely rude to me giving me no chance to explain the situation, just extremely rude. this guy was my final straw to this place and lost a very loyal member. definitely would not recommend this location.

Johnny’s fit club has always been one of my go-to gyms in the local area, albeit I haven’t gone as consistently as I would like to. Extremely friendly staff and top notch service, plenty of equipment that’s always sanitary, and an upbeat environment full of like minded individuals, all contribute to the seamless experience that I have had at this location. I checked my bank account and saw I had been charged several times twice or three times in the same month the last three months. I've spoken to three different people over the last month, have provided proof, and been told the owner would be contacting me or refunding it ASAP.

Once again it's a month later and still nothing. Extremely disappointed and will be contacting my bank to process a charge back.

Edit: They called me just hours after I posted my review saying my refund is in process and might go faster if I removed this review. Thanks Teran of the front desk. This speaks wonders of what kind of people own and run this gym.

I’ve been a member at this gym for 7 years. It was amazing, I used to be proud of this gym and would tell all my friends it was the spot. And then it moved to vista and the quality of this gun really suffered. Smaller space, less equipment, parts of the floor are ripping up throughout, the water fountain has had a plumbing issue for a year now, and it’s just not clean. Since returning to my workouts after COVID happened it feels like the general cleanliness has gone out the door here.

But all of the above are just moot points. I wouldn’t really care if this next point didn’t exist, and it’s why I’m giving it 2 stars. This last week it reached the upper 80s/lower 90s. Instead of making it comfortable and enjoyable to work out in they decided to prop the doors open with rocks and fans blowing air from the back of the main gym area. It was hotter inside johnnys than it was outside. I’m all for getting my sweat on. But I do not want to work out in a space that’s hotter than the outside world. At first I thought that maybe the AC was broken so I gave it a pass. But on the fourth workout where the doors were still propped open the back gym area was nice and cool with the AC on. I don’t know the owner, but after seeing them cheap out on a nice space (there’s a genuine black tarp separating public and employee workout spaces) and equipment I can only presume they instructed their employees to keep the AC off as long as possible to save money. It sucks. Don’t be like that

These guys double charged me for one month and after they agreed and I explicitly stated when I was going to cancel they still charged me. I have two memberships so that's $65 they stole from me plus tax. Beware of what you're getting into.
And johnnys fitness center if I do not receive my money back I will file a small claims. I want to speak with a representative or I will not hesitate to file a small claims.

I started working out at Johnny's Fit club a year ago, at that time I had just had a baby and wanted to get back into shape. I was able to lose the weight, but I struggled to tone and build muscle. I met with Mark, in October, and in just that amount of time he was able to help me lift my flat pancake mom butt, back to life! I have muscles in my shoulders and arms I didn't even know were there. I have a back injury and every workout we do is modified around the injury. Mark is incredibly kind, and full of lots of information. He has really helped reset my mind on my weight and fitness, and food. I honestly didn't know what half the equipment in the gym was for, and Mark has been so patient in teaching me. Mark has me workout and I am building muscle in places I didn't even know had muscles. Mark has helped build my confidence, helped educate me on the gym and its equipment, and showed me that I am capable of doing hard things. I call him the Wizard! He's just that good

UPDATE: I did get a response after posting this from the manager, Esteban. He was very kind and helped me get my issues resolved. He is an asset to the gym and very polite. It was nice to have a positive experience.
Too bad zero stars isn’t an option. I don’t often leave online reviews, but I felt I had to. I cannot urge you enough, if I can’t dissuade you from joining, at least do NOT sign up for personal training at this gym. This is the most poorly run business I’ve ever encountered. I have been emailing, texting, calling, and leaving messages, not to mention begging, pleading, and slamming my head against the wall trying to get help from management and they absolutely will not respond. It’s terrible. My trainer left and there were only two others, neither of whom have the availability for the sessions per week I paid for. They basically gave me one day per week at an extremely inconvenient time and that’s too bad for me, that’s just what I get. I can take it or have none at all and just keep paying. They did not contact me when my trainer was leaving and offer to help, they waited until I contacted them and when I finally got someone, they said if we can’t find anyone to take over my 3 sessions per week, they would not charge me my final payment for sessions. We couldn’t find anyone but after 4 weeks of begging and pleading, time ran out and I got charged anyways. Another $250. It’s like they’re not replying on purpose to waste time and get another payment out of me. They’re selling more training sessions than they can provide. They’ve completely derailed my fitness progress with their poor management. I will say, the two trainers they do have at vista are both fantastic, which is why they’re both booked solid and can’t take any more clients. It is not their fault that the gym is run so poorly. Cedric and Mark are wonderful. Beyond that, I can’t recommend this place to anyone. It’s cheap for sure, but just pay more to go somewhere that the staff will actually provide service if you need it.

Older equipment, but has everything most people need for a low price. It's fascinating how so many people don't rerack weights and put other equipment (e.g. steps, mats, etc.) away when they are done. Reracking helps others know a machine or spot is open, and some people cannot lift heavier plates off machines without assistance. Bathrooms are frequently messy.

I’ve had a membership at Johnnys Fit Club for years, and because my fiancé and I have an exciting trip to Cancun coming up we decided to call the office about a fitness trainer to get us in better shape before we go.

My goal was to get an experienced trainer and not some out of shape overweight kid with a clip board like I’ve seen at other gyms. I called in and spoke with Nicholas, and explained our situation and what we were looking for. He said that he was new, but has years of fitness training and experience. I reluctantly agreed to meet with him, fully expecting to have to politely ask for another trainer with a proven track record.

However, Nick surprised us! Not only was he energized to get us started and hit our goals, but this young man was in excellent shape himself! That’s important to me, I don’t take investment advice from broke people and I expect my physical trainer to be physically fit. Nick had us do an In Fit body composition at our first meeting and laid out a path to our goals. We started out at about 70% as my fiancé and I have been out of the gym awhile, but 4 weeks in we are going hard and crushing our goals with Nick’s coaching and training. Very impressed with this young man, I think he will go far!

Although I enjoyed my time at Vista JFC, I am overly disappointed and frustrated about the process of canceling my membership. I moved across town, and attempted to contact the Vista location several times, including through the website. Only to find out that Austin was out of town. The first time I called Overland, my call was answered and I spoke to a lovely gal who invited me in to Overland to sign the paperwork. She stated that my cancellation request wouldn’t go through until Austin was back in town. Fast forward two weeks later, I’m being charged for my membership due to miscommunication between the two gyms or lack of management at Vista. Absolutely ridiculous. I was also charged a $40 cancellation fee, which was NEVER discussed when I signed up for a membership. I thought this was a non-contract facility?

Edit: This is a month later and my account is still “Active” at Vista and they want me to come into the gym to sign a form I already signed. Just make a cancellation link on your website like every other gym in Boise.

Last gym I checked out jhonnys fit club on vista Austin gave my freind and i a tour answered my questions. And went over and above. It is upsetting and utterly disrespectful to see people complain about a small family owned business gym. Ive been with Johnnys for a while now and Ive seen nothing but improvements! Especially with their NEW SVC Director "Austin" , these rumors of him being rude and unprofessional is entirely untrue. He's been so nice to all NEW members signing up and keeps a good reputation with all ORIGINAL members that have been with this gym. Id have to say he's honestly increased members and kept the gym CLEAN AS EVER. As a business owner I understand how 2021 was difficult fo this industry but I can see Austin and Johnny doing their best to UPKEEP and maintain their facilities, while not caring about "sales" but more of having everyones accountability in "Commit To Be Fit" as their slogan is. The gym is a perfect location near the Vista area, it may be small but its 24 HRS, it has enough equipment ranging from cable machines, free weights and a back room in which they are expanding and has squat racks and a dead lift platform and extra machines. In perspective think of it as home style gym just bigger. The service director "Austin" is friendly and welcoming to everyone regardless of if your new to the gym or a veteran. I am not impressed with Johnny's FitClub. I am only posting this because they have little signs all around the club asking members to post on Google.
The facility has too much equipment crammed into it. I routinely trip over a piece of equipment when using a different one.
The choice of equipment indicates that whoever purchased it does not understand human movement and optimum training. For example, there are two plate loaded machines for chest, one for shoulders, and one for back. There should be a push for every pull and so they are missing two machines for the upper back.
The selectorized machines are just as imbalanced in selection.
Much of the equipment is in terrible shape and poorly maintained. For example, both of the portable flat benches are unstable simply because they are missing screws to hold the pad down.
However, the worst part, especially during this COVID-19 pandemic, is the lack of effort to keep things clean. I cannot imagine that any of the equipment has been cleaned by an employee since the dates written on them in April. There has been dirt on some of the equipment since I joined two months ago. The restrooms are consistently dirty. The floor consistently needs vacuuming.
Some members wipe things down, some do not. I bet more members would wipe equipment down if they kept the cleaning towel baskets stocked - which they do not.
I cancelled my membership.
I received an email that they will be moving to a new clean facility with new equipment. I bet it will not remain clean and new looking for long given the lack of pride evidenced by the employees.

I was charged for the time that I wasn't allowed to use the gym. It would be very easy for the management here to suspend all accounts until they hear from the member, that way they aren't taking advantage of the situation and taking people's money. On top of that, their times for being open now are set to what's best for them, not their members. I'm switching to Axiom, where they put members first.

Edit: I cancelled my membership three months ago and they just charged me again. Looking at facebook reviews, I am not the only person who has had issues with cancelling their membership. When I called them, their main trainer Mark was just downright rude to me and referred me to an email address and said that there was nobody I could talk to about the issue and that he couldnt stop future payments. I have gone to the Southeast Boise location for several years and wouldn't ever switch. They have everything you need in terms of equipment, the staff is always friendly and helpful, and you can't beat the price for what you get for a membership there. Highly recommend this gym.

I’ve been going to Johnny’s for a little over a year. It’s the 5th gym membership I tried in Boise and I am so happy I found it! Prices are beyond fair, tons of equipment that is well maintained, and generally not too busy to get a hard workout in even after 5 on weekdays. The front desk staff is awesome. They are always welcoming, super helpful, and polite. I love the community I found in this gym 10/10 absolutely recommend

JFC is a very nice facility with a great staff. The equipment is clean and is always working. Beware the WiFi at the facility is a 50-50 shot to be working on a day to day basis. I would highly recommend this gym if you can do cardio without streaming anything.

This an awesome place to workout. The location is perfect for my wife and I. It's a hop, skip, and a jump from home. I'm on a physical training program, and the physical trainer is very encouraging. Thanks Tyler!. Can't wait to see our results after the program is finished.

When I signed up, I was told there was no contract. I moved several months ago and am nowhere near this gym. They refuse to cancel my account and keep trying to charge my card every month. Luckily I had to get a replacement debit card so they no longer have my financial information. The girl I talked to said that I could not cancel unless I showed her a piece of mail. I'm not going to do that. If you claim there are no contracts, I should be able to cancel anytime for whatever reason I want. I haven't been to this gym in almost 8 months and they claim that I am somehow costing them money. I was told my account would go to collections, but good luck with that. I have documented everything. Just close my account!!

Not sure if it is still the case (This was over 4 years ago), but this location, not sure on the whole company, partakes in shady/borderline illegal business practices.
I signed up, was told to come in next day for "orientation." Came in, come to find out it was a set up to get me a "personal trainer." At the time i was working a minimum wage job, and couldn't afford a "personal trainer." After my "Orientation" the manager said , "Doesn't working out with someone make everything easier, you should do this." (The words personal trainer was never used this whole time by the way) I told him no multiple times, and said I couldn't afford to "work out with someone." At the time I was a very timid person and he eventually coursed me into agreeing with a "work out partner." At this point the word "personal trainer" still was never said. I never signed a contract or agreement to pay $75 a month for a "work out partner." That night I got an email and charge for $75 saying I signed up for a personal trainer. Reminder I was making minimum wage at the time and $75 a month would ruin me. I went in to try to cancel it, because I didn't want a personal trainer. They told me I couldn't, because I "signed a contract" and refused to give me a copy.
One day I was able to get a copy of the "contract I signed." I read it over, and it was only a medical information form saying "I ___ agree to say I'm telling the truth to the above information about my medical information." Information such as if I've had asthma, heart issues, etc.
Eventually I was able to get them to stop charging me by threatening with legal action.
Stay far far away from here, unless they've fixed this or have new ownership.

This gym used to have great interactive quick burn out classes, now the classes are pretty terrible. Also they charge an additional $40 to close the account without even being on a contract. It is literally a charge for closing.

Experience hasn’t been great, but also hasn’t been bad. It’s a very basic gym with basic equipment. However, I’ve finally decided to cancel my membership due to the fact that they’ve raised the monthly fee by $7. It used to be $10/mo and they’ve raised it to $17/mo although I’m not sure why...? They haven’t upgraded or improved the gym at all, and I’d still rate it a “mediocre” gym. The bathrooms are always dirty, at least one treadmill is out of order all the time, and their AC can’t cool the building below like 75 degrees in the summer, so don’t even try to work out when the sun is out. It was alright when it was $10 a month, but NOT worth $17.

Johnny’s Fit Club Boise is very, very good. The overall staff is friendly, especially the management group at the front desk. Not a huge gym, but clean, and have almost everything you need, AND even respond to small requests for equipment additions and locker room improvements. 5 stars for sure, too bad I can’t vote 6!!!

I joined Johnny's Fit Club because it is close to work, has all of the equipment I need, and I enjoy the personalized attention I receive. What a great facility!!!!! I was very insecure about my weight and not use to working out around other people and Brad Broughton sat me down and we just talked. He asked me about what was important to me and how much of a priority did I want my health to be. Told me to come hang out and get to know people and just make friends...don’t make this just about working out for an hour and go home...meet people...talk to people...hang out!!! Johnny's Fit Club is the best gym that I have been to in Boise. Sure, it is not one of those GloboGym style places, but in reality do you need some giant gym? For me that answer is: no. The facility is clean, the gym is very well managed, the staff is friendly, and the equipment is great. The place is open 24 hours a day and the per month cost is lower than anywhere else in town (that I know of, at least).

At $10/month you can't expect much and you shouldn't with Johnny's. This location is exactly what you'd expect for that much. A couple machines needed to be fixed or replaced because they were not symmetrical anymore most of the rest could probably use maintenance anyways. Only one pair of dumbbells per weight above 30lbs...sucked. Went out of state for a few months and they said they would freeze my account for six months...they started charging me again after 3. Was two months away from the annual fee when I quit, they still charged me for that.

Signed up yesterday and as of today, I already want a refund. Being laughed at by staff members does not make a great experience and would make anyone hesitant at getting back in the gym. Not to mention the staff isn’t knowledgeable about the tanning they offer (and the bed didn’t work) - save yourself the trouble and go down the street to palm beach and crunch.

I've been going to Johnnys for almost a year now, and so far it's been a great gym. Recently I moved to the Findlay from the overland location and the staff made the transition incredibly pleasant. I now use their babysitting services and they are very nice and work well with my kid. Also their guy Kurt is the coolest and gave me and my workout partner a ton of useful tips and encouragement. For the price you pay for it it's well worth the money and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an easy going gym.
