We enrolled our 3-year-old daughter in the summer special (2x/week for over $300) but only attended twice before deciding never to return. The instructors are mostly teens/very young adults who seem disengaged and unqualified to teach small children. One in particular was especially cold and impatient. When my daughter was scared on the high beam and asked for help, the instructor swatted her hand away and said, “No, I’m not going to help you, you can do it.” She gave instructions from across the gym instead of demonstrating or guiding her, even with only one other child in the class. At one point I was on the phone in the loft area with a coworker and she could hear the instructor yelling my daughters name over and over, followed by whatever “x” move she should be doing. She was 20 feet away just shouting as if it’s supposed to magically make her comprehend the move technique,
My daughter fell on the bar during class and was clearly hurt and scared. Instead of comforting or checking on her, the instructor first said “you’re fine,” and when my daughter asked to come to me, she yelled “no, you stay here.” I had to intervene and told me daughter she’s allow to come to me. On the way out, the instructor gave the other student a high five but deliberately ignored my daughter until she asked for one. It was heartbreaking.
My husband spoke to the owner at the front desk who offered no empathy, only stating “no refunds” and “you can try another instructor.” The response was cold and transactional.

If you're new to gymnastics like we were, please trust the negative reviews. This place lacked warmth, professionalism, and basic care for small children. We’ve since found a fantastic coach in Boise (a Bulgarian instructor – easy to find) who is kind, engaged, and professional. It’s a long drive, but worth it to see our daughter happy and thriving.

Parents, especially moms – speak up if something feels wrong. I regret staying silent for even two classes.

Trust the bad reviews and claims of abuse. Avoid this place like the plague.

We’ve been with meridian academy of gymnastics for about 8 years; starting when my oldest was 2. She’s now 10 and my youngest has been in class since she was 18months old!
Both girls love Coach Colleen. I have recommended MAG to countless friends and of course have kept my kids enrolled.
Colleen does a wonderful job of encouraging kids to try things they don’t think possible, teaches smart drills and is a stickler for technique.
You won’t find better quality gymnastics coaching.

Worst gymnastics we have been at, not because they are goal lrented, but because they think they are in control of your child. My daughter was abuse on the gym property,, disclosed abuse to the owner. And the owner made excused and lied to law enforcement to not get in trouble for not reporting child abuse. If you want a so so gym that will control your time money and child, you are in the right spot. If you want them to be safe, and educated, look somewhere else. This gym is a disaster from the moment you walk in the door.

We made the switch to this gym for my daughter this year. She is a competitive gymnast, and needed to advance her skills. I am blown away by the progress, the coaching, the team. It’s definitely a big family! My daughter feels welcome with open arms every time we show up, and there is no place for drama or cattiness. We have loved every minute thus far, and look forward to advancing with this team.

Daughter has learned a lot and is progressing very well. I trust the coaches and they strike a perfect balance of pushing to excel but not overdoing it.

They barely even stretched and they were doing random things like straight jumps across the floor and she was not teaching them any technique and they were doing nothing fun👎🏻

We've been coming here since about September 2019 and my son had no previous experience in this sport or any sport (4, almost 5 years old). He has learned a lot of skills and gained a lot of confidence in his abilities. His younger sister has now stated classes with him. Coach Colleen is great with the kids. Very patient but also firm when necessary.

I am giving 3 stars because the program itself is awesome. However I am also giving 3 stars instead of 5 because of the way the business is ran. I paid 230/biweekly on time for the summer program. There were times when my daughter couldn't go and never received credit. I was instructed to leave a message should something need changed and I did so on July 15th (the beginning of the prepaid 2 weeks). I didn't get a call back for 4 days. I was dealing with personal issues at home and when things settled down my wife reached out to her and work it out. She gave no credit for the 2 weeks we paid that my daughter never went and said "she has a business to run" etc. I let things go before, because I didn't leave a message, but this last time I did "To the T" what she asked me to do and on the first day of the prepaid 2 weeks I "left a message" and she took 4 days to call back and didn't give us any credit at all. Perhaps others have screwed her over in the past, but we haven't and didn't deserve this. It is with a heavy heart that we will be enrolling our daughter elsewhere. I just can't allow someone to keep $230 when I did the right thing. I have 6 kids and am not a charity for someone who "has a business to run".

I have been doing gymnastics here for almost a year and I love it, when I first came I immediately felt home, everyone was very welcoming and kind. I love the coaches so much. This gym is about having fun and doing what you can to become a champion. I would recommend this gym to anyone

I’ve competed with MAG for 8 years and loved every minute of it. After quitting I soon realized how much I missed the gym. So, I returned and have been coaching ever since! I love this gym! It is so family orientated and all about teaching safe gymnastics and great sportsmanship!

We have been here 4 years now and we love it! The staff is very knowledgeable and skilled in their instruction. I feel like my daughter is always safe. They really care individually for their gymnasts and it shows, my daughter trusts them and so do I and that is vital in a sport like gymnastics. Because they spend time developing that trust they have really been able to help my daughter and all the gymnasts reach their goals and continue to reach their highest potential​. It's a very inviting family oriented atmosphere which we love. Everyone is so welcoming and supportive. When we made the jump from rec to team I felt so included and involved immediately. It's been a rewarding experience we plan on continuing.
