I did a virtual Run consultation with Albert who was highly recommended by my coach. I honestly did not know how a virtual visit would turn out, but it has worked really well for me. I have been impressed with his depth of expertise in proper run technique, and have been able to apply it to my training. I used to have major shin pain while running, but after adopting his recommendations, I no longer suffer from the debilitating shin pains. I strongly recommend Albert if you're struggling with running, or just want to learn how to run better, and more efficiently.

Albert has tremendous patience explaining exact techniques for each strength movement. He has a excellent ability to break down each movement into manageable sections. Albert's overall knowledge of organic chemistry really helps a client improve their health, mindset and understanding. Thank you again!

I've been a member of Audacious Crossfit for over two years now. My motivation for doing Crossfit is to be able to maintain an active Idaho lifestyle (hunting, fishing, hiking, biking, etc.) as I age past middle age and to try and keep up with my athletic teenage son. Albert is a stickler for proper lifting form to avoid injury which I really appreciate. I've learned the proper form for lifting exercises and running while attending this gym and I continue to learn daily!

Albert is an amazing coach! He taught us simple techniques to improve our form to allow us to run well and without injury. He worked really well with our group. He is positive and encouraging to runners of all ability. During the first session, two of our friends, who are avid runners kept saying, "WOW, running takes so much less effort when we do it right!" They were genuinely surprised and pleased at the outcomes. I really enjoyed learning how to run in a way that helped me enjoy the process. Would definitely recommend!!

I met Albert a few weeks out from my 24 hour track event where I was struggling with my running form. He introduced me to the Pose technique and after a few zoom sessions (I live in Australia) I was able to run Pose style. I worked hard with him on the "pull, pull, pull" and it was one of the mantras during the event. Never ran 24 hours before covering 122kms. I have to say I had zero injury leading up to the event after many months of niggles. I also had no issues afterwards. Alberts support was amazing and I highly recommend learning Pose. It has really changed my ultrarunning journey! My new "pull, pull, pull" ear worm is here to stay and I couldn't be happier. Give it a go
and I am sure you wont be disappointed. Thanks Albert!!

Albert helped me with my running form because I had recurring injuries in my calf, soleus, and Achilles. Specifically, he taught me the Pose Method — and completely changed my approach to running. Rather than stabbing at the ground with my heel, he helped me leverage gravity and land on the ground in better alignment. It was difficult for me to un-learn decades of poor form. But Albert was patient, thorough, and thoughtful with his support. I can’t recommend him enough — especially for those suffering from recurring running injuries.

I’m 22 and have been going here for 4 months now. Just in these short 4 months I’ve seen a huge difference in my form and my strength. This gym has a very welcoming community in it also. Albert is a great coach, great with communication, and pushing to your potential. I recommend this gym to anyone at any stage of their fitness journey. I work as a electrician I have seen a huge difference in my stamina and my strength that is needed for the job.

Dropped in for 4 days of WODs while in town for business. Walked in to a coach with a wide range knowledge that he applies to every class. I was glad to get my running form analyzed by a pro.

Albert is a great coach and very personable. Unlike a lot of other Cross-Fit coaches he takes the time to make sure your form is right to avoid injury and works with you to help correct persistent issues. He is also great working with you to scale work outs to help mange an existing injury. Last but not least he is a great running coach and helped me run a mile faster than i even thought possible. Audacious CrossFit is a great gym with a great community of people with a totally awesome coach. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to get serious about training in the valley.

I decided to check this place out because one of my buddies had been going for a while and always had great things to say. When somebody's grinning ear to ear describing their workout that morning.. you know you gotta check it out.

The community is friendly and welcoming, the others in class cheer you on regardless of your abilities which meant a lot as I was coming off several injuries and physical setbacks that left me feeling I'd never get back into my 'prime' shape again. (Working on it!)
Albert as a coach is knowledgeable, supportive and patient. He will work with you and your limitations (if any) to help you reach your goal.
The level method was new to me but I like the neatly broken down visual mapping so you could see where you're at and where you could go.
I generally don't leave reviews but feel compelled to for IMA, go check it out you won't regret it!

Best gym experience I have had in years! I have been skeptical of cross fit and truly just not interested...until recently. My husband and son had been going to IMA for a couple of years, and they finally convinced me to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised on the first day, and it has gotten better and better since! Albert is a great coach. He really focuses on technique first and foremost, before adding weights. Most of all, I appreciate that he has us set SMART goals and helps us make a plan to achieve those goals. He also makes us dig a little as to the "why" behind our goals, which has benefits far beyond the gym. I have a crazy work schedule, and I always look forward to a text from Albert when I am on the road, just checking in and holding me accountable, but not pressuring me. When I am in town, I appreciate the supportive and challenging environment of the gym. This gym is truly one of a kind. What are you waiting for? Join us today.

If you're CrossFit Curious, you should start here! I had major (negative) misperceptions about CrossFit when I dipped my toes in the water at IMA with The Level Method Assessment process. I wanted to see where I was with my baseline fitness and get a plan to improve. I got so much more than that. I found an amazing community, an incredibly supportive and invested coach, programming that could be modified for my injuries and interests, a path to finding my inner athlete again, and the most effective workout program I've ever done. If you show up, you WILL get results. In less than a year at IMA, I'm down 20 pounds, but I've also put on a nice amount of muscle (and I'm not bulky, ladies!). If you want a group that will cheer you on regardless of your abilities, and a coach who will truly invest in you, this is the place. You're getting SO much more than just a gym membership here.

Not your ordinary box gym. I have been a member of Idahome/Audacious CrossFit since the fall of 2017. Albert takes the time to ensure proper form and fitness ability vs. cutting you loose and seeing what you can do. His new system is Called Level Method that follows preset benchmark exercises that when calculated give you a better picture of your fitness level. Having this insight allows you to advance your goals when the testing comes around 3 times a year.

I've been a part of the IMA for 4 months, now. I find that this isn't just a place I go to work out, it's where I go to dig deeper. I'm inspired by every person I've met there. It doesn't matter that we're all at different levels of fitness...Coach Albert meets you where you're at and pushes you to be your best.
I've become aware of so many different opportunities to be active...crossfit competitions and WOD, Spartan Race training, running clubs and training, rucking...yes, I said rucking. Check it out!
The IMA is a great source of encouragement and motivation, as well, which extends beyond just the workouts.
Call Albert and schedule a free workout! You'll be glad you did!

I was training for my first marathon when I scheduled a running form appointment with Albert. I have been running for many years, but recently suffered a very painful hip injury. So I decided to seek Albert's help after receiving a referral from a sports massage therapist. Albert studied my form and broke it down for me, showing me exactly what I was doing wrong and what I could do to correct it. I took his input and almost immediately started seeing results. The best part is that I successfully completed my marathon well within my goal pace. I have no doubt that Albert's input helped minimize my pain so that I could push through. And the best part is that Albert followed up with me via email several times after our initial consultation to make sure I was okay. He definitely went way above and beyond what I expected and I am very thankful!

In short, Albert Lu knows what it takes to be an efficient and optimal runner.
I don’t like running, but I had to prepare for a physical exam during my application process for law enforcement. The test included a variety of physical tests and Albert coached me for the 75 yard sprint/obstacle course and a 1.5 mile run that had to be under 12:30 minutes.
A little background. I practiced Crossfit for 3 years where I met Albert. I then moved and for the next three years I’ve been on/off weight lifting and probably 1% of actual running outdoors. If I don’t have to run I don’t but I’ll do my very best when I do have to run.
4 weeks out from my test date and Albert provided me with a weekly schedule that contained when to run, how far, rest times and trial runs.
My first timed trial was 13:45, ok but not great. I was suffering from sore calves and Albert advised me that I was landing too much on my forefoot and to start kissing my heels. What a difference that made, sore calves stopped and my quads were getting a bigger pump after my running exercises during the week. Mind you, in preparing for a 1.5 mile run he had me doing interval sprints and not actually running non-stop for 1.5 miles. My kind of running really short and quick.
At the end of week 2 I was running the 1.5 miles in 13 minutes. What a huge improvement!
Albert kept me on the same plan and frequently tuned in to see how my legs were doing.
My final timed trial before my physical exam was 11:42, mostly sprints and a walking rest. I was very confident about passing my test with flying colors.
Day of the exam, the sprint was the first thing on the list and the 1.5 mile run was last. I flew threw the sprints and performed the rest of the tests without any issues. The 1.5 mile run was outdoors, on a dirt track and the temp was about 92F. I had been training indoors on a treadmill but whatever. My final time was 12:10!!!! I couldn’t be happier with that.
Thanks Al for all your help and always being available to answers and provide sound thoughtful advice. Highly recommended!
