The customer service at this branch is atrocious. Amanda, was demeaning and rude when I was trying to resolve a billing issue that had happened to me before. They have a habit of double, or even triple charging membership fees all within a single month. This happened to me earlier this year, and ultimately led me to cancel my membership all together. I tried to open a new account last month in hopes it would be normal, but the same problems persisted. In total, I have been charged more than $100 from PF in one month. I showed them my bank statements, and they still refused to refund me. They even charged me the next month's charges and an extra $10 fee before allowing me to cancel. All whilst Amanda accused me of trying to scam them AND the manager stood by and listened.

Good price but the machines work half the time and will not work properly the other half. Some employees have a good bedside manner and will apologize and try to fix the issue and reset the tan massage or red light machines (which suck having to undress then get dressed then take all ur belongings back to the front) and a few others are blatantly rude and will claim it works and make you wait ten minutes twenty and half an hour and never start the machine and get mad at you for asking, and then you e redressed like two three times by that time. What a letdown! Those employees make having a contract with them a regret. I don't recommend going to this gym. Waste of money. Dealing with bad machines is one thing, then dealing with two employees who blatantly rude and demeaning towards you is yet another thing. Some employees claim u can book two sessions and others claim you cannot and get inappropriately rude with you for booking two sessions, even if you only come to the gym once a week and your not even using the machines much. So really they have a lot of employee training issues and machine problems.

No water. Filter is red and they can't change it. So after working out n thirsty but can't get water. That's not how we run a gym guys, it tells you weeks before it needs to be changed. Also no shelves in the shower for our soap n shampoo, i got to lay my stuff on the gross shower floor. also no one watching the floor to make sure the members use the equipment properly, which they are not. Management needs some training, poorly run location

Very clean and well-kept gym! The staff here are super friendly and welcoming. As a truck driver, I asked if it was safe to park my semi in the front lot—they assured me it’s totally fine, even overnight. Huge shoutout to the team here for being so helpful. Planet Fitness is great and exactly what I paid for. There are too many people that leave bad reviews for whatever reason. Expecting the facilities of The Apple Athletic Club, while paying the prices of Planet Fitness. I love the 24/7 membership, while having the flexibility of going to other locations when out of town for business. Has everything you NEED to keep in shape as well as gain muscle mass. Highly recommend to anywhere, regardless where they’re at or what fitness goals they have.

I went in to cancel last year because i was gone for a while. Was told it is canceled and completed. Then got billed for another 4 or 5 months. Called back and yall tried saying I "owed money" after I already canceled. Then told me it wasnt actually canceled.

Went back in 2 months ago (July 2025) to cancel again because same thing. Was going to be gone for a while and busy with other things. Saw today I was still build and was told the same thing. "No we wont refund any months you didnt use, no it wasnt canceled. No we wont help you". The gal working with the southern accent did not care what so ever and basically said its not your guys problem that YOU GUYS FAILED to cancel it. And that theres nothing ahe would do to help. Last time I try to enroll.

The fact i had to go in twice and both times it wasnt properly canceled even though I was told it was is ridiculous. Then to be told "not our problem" that is wasnt succefully canceled is even crazier.

Great hypertrophy gym for my needs. The staff is always friendly, and there are enough weight machines that I can get all of the necessary movements in, even if the specific machine I want isn't always available. The East wall is covered in windows, so there's nice, natural light (unlike the Pocatello location). Equipment is always either in working order or quick to be repaired. Workers are constantly on the floor cleaning. Friendly members, great staff, nice equipment. This location mops the floor with the other locations I've been to! Huge thanks to the awesome people there!

Shower Review:

This planet fitness has 2 changing rooms with locking doors and 4 showers with curtains separated by a hall. The shower heads are detachable hose style which gives some flexibility to showering if that is needed. The curtains are long and cover the entire width of the shower entrance. The water got hot quickly and had the option to go hotter than I prefer, a rare feature at PF.

However, there were no shelves in the shower to put your soaps. I had to use my mesh hanging bag I got for another PF and hang it from the curtain rod but if I did not have this I would have had to put my soaps on the floor, which is gross. As with all of these separated shower and changing rooms style showers I had to hang my valuables outside the shower which I’m not a fan of. That said I feel clean and neither of those issues is that bad in the grand scheme of things.

I was in town for a day and was stoked that there is a planet fitness in Idaho Falls. It's smaller than the ones I have been too but it was laid out perfectly and even had a few machines I hadn't seen at others. So that was cool. So they call this the "judgement free zone" when they have 50 pieces of cardio equipment strategically placed at the back of the room so they have a clear view of everyone trying to work out on machines and freeweights. I was a Golds Gym member for 15 plus years and switched to Planet Fitness about a year ago. I travel a lot and have found every pf I have been to constantly clean and well staffed. I have been very impressed with the help I have gotten from Bryan and the staff here in Idaho Falls, always a smile and willing to help. I love the 30 minute circuit workout area and never had any issues moving through my workout. The HydroMassage is great for my back. Bryan thank you for all your help and let your early morning staff know they're awesome. So glad I made the switch.

Good place for a workout. As far as gyms go, this place seemed to have more emphasis on machines for cardio and strength training. I generally use more free weights and like having a larger area with turf for a variety of exercises. Clean facility and the staff was great.

Been trying to cancel since I was active duty in the Army 3 years ago, came in and showed them a copy of my orders and demanded they cancel my membership and they agreed. It is illegal to charge after this point as there are certain protections for active duty or activated national guard units but they never stopped charging me. Do not sign up for planet fitness.
Edit: you can log in online and change your location to anywhere in California and then cancel your membership.

Honestly the main reason I prefer planet to other gyms is the 30 minute workout area. It's for people in a pinch, or people just getting into, or just getting back into exercising. However no one was monitoring it tonight people were playing on their phones at the machines, jumping out of order, or just coming in to do multiple rounds of sets.. that's not the point of the area and none of the employees did or said anything to them.. I shouldn't have to enforce that area for the people working there.. imma give it another try but if it's anything like tonight I'll probably cancel and go to a different gym.

I always feel comfortable at planet fitness. The value of the services offered exceeds every other gym that I looked into. The best thing I ever did was ask another couple what their experience had been as they had mentioned that they had been members at one time of all of the gyms in the area and this is where they had decided to keep their membership. That meant a lot as I considered other gyms. I’m glad I listened and I agree with them. I even let my wife give away my old treadmill as I will be coming here exclusively now.😎

I have been a member of planetfitness since they open their location here in idaho falls. I have never had any issues with staff or payment. In March I decided to cancel my membership because I was not using it but 2 times a year. Well I deceide that maybe it was time to get serious about my health and went a head and rejoined this month. During sign up I was told I'd be charged a $1 fee for start up and then on the 24th I'd be charged my regular monthly fee. Today I noticed my account was over charged so I called the idaho falls location to ask why i was wrongfully charged. Andrew answered and said he'd be happy to look into it. After pulling up my account I was informed that I was over charged because when I signed up I put in wrong banking information and when they tried to pull the monthly fee it didn't go through. I explained to him that there must be miscommunication because they had successfully pulled money at sign up so there was no way my banking information could be wrong. I also asked why they would try to pull my monthly fee a week before it was due. He said he couldn't tell me. I said we'll I'd be happy to share bank statements for the first transaction. He then said the extra charges were for a late fee. I them again shared that I would be happy to bring in back statements to share previous successful transactions as well as my balance from joining to prove there would have been plenty of funds to pull. He said there was nothing they could do and then said i was more than welcome to cancel at any time.
Super upsetting to be told that after years of buisness and proof that it wasn't my fault and wrongfully charged. Very unpleasant customer service from Andrew!

Lots of out of service machines. Guys sit in the locker rooms like its a frat house. Maybe they like seeing others change. People have no concept that others want to lift weights too and use the bench press structure for an hour because they are watching a movie on their phone. Other than that $10 a month I will put up with motel 6 setting of gyms. You get what you pay for. It is clean. Has lots of equipment. Sufficient free weights. Good tvs with all different channels. I guess my only real complaint are some of the members.

Got a charge on my son's account for $51.94 from Planet Fitness. Called and was told this is a cleaning fee. I told the employee that that is rediculous when my son joined 2 months ago. I was told also that the cleaning fee is non refundable even if the membership fee is cancelled. Very deceiving when the TV commercial state that the fee is $10 a month when it is really $10.60 a month. Cleaning fee should be charged when the customer has used the facility for a year not just 2 months. Was never informed at sign up about any fees other than the montly fee of $10.00. Planet Fitness needs to change their commercials to state that monthly fee is $10.60 plus a annual cleaning fee of $51.94 that will be charged within 2 months of joining. Need to not be deceitfull with commercials or by staff signing customers up for service.

What trailer park did you grow up in? That complaint has nothing to do with the establishment but people's behavior. They can't put up a sign for every common sense issue.

12-Feb 2024 update
Water fountain was fixed.
6+ separate pieces of equipment had their padding replaced (took approx 1-2 wks).
Ome of the men's showers has been out of order for at least 3-4 months.
When we signed up, we told/promised that new equipment would be coming at end of 2023 or early 2024 ... maybe I've missed some things, however it's not evident that there's been any new equipment.

5-Feb 2024 update ... particularly disappointing that after 6 weeks the only water fountain for bottles remains out of service = how long does it take to fix a water fountain?

Equipment tends to be the lower option variants available from the manufacturer(s) ... for example (Precor?) ellipticals have a serious design flaw = if you're 5'10" or taller then, as your feet slide to the front of the foot holders, your knees will immediately bash into the front (pivot points for the feet and handles).

Coming off of shoulder surgery and only being able to work on my legs I am highly disappointed to find out that 6 leg machines are out of order! That is completely ridiculous! I pay my monthly fees to only get partial working gym equipment. On top of 6 machines not working it takes 3 to 4 for them to get up and working again. We are going on week 3 of the calf machine not working. Extremely disappointed!

While the facility is nice and well maintained their management leaves a lot to be desired. I had a billing issue and received a letter from them. I decided to cancel the account. They stated they needed something in writing. So, I wrote them a check and a letter asking the account be closed. A week later I got another letter stating they had been unable to charge my account. I called the store and they wanted me to bring the letter I wrote and a copy of the canceled check to them. When I stated I thought that was ridiculous, as they have a canceled check the girl turned the phone over to someone else saying she was being yelled at. I had not raised my voice I was just firm in my conviction that I shouldn't have to bring to them what they already had. NOW, a week later I get a text from them stating I need to contact the store as they have been unable to bill the account. AGAIN, I called the facility and they want me to provide copies of the letter and a copy of the canceled check. I'm not going to make a trip to handhold them because their management can't properly annotate the books. I will give then the check number, the date of the letter and the date it cleared my account. But failure to maintain their records accurately is not my problem

I am a trucker. I travel all over the country and visit dozens of Planet Fitness gyms. I use the showers regularly. So when I leave reviews it's only based off the cleanliness of the restroom areas and showers. This restroom smells like URINE! The Showers smell like sewer! And urine. I don't know why the staff at multiple locations all over the country don't focus on keeping the showers cleaned. If they did they wouldn't be smelling like this. I'm disappointed and disgusted.

Been going to our local PF since it opened. It's centrally located, easily accessible and affordable. Plenty of options for a well rounded workout, whether you want to do cardio or weights. I especially like their resistance curcuit!

Overall I enjoy planet fitness. It is kept relatively clean and there’s a good variety of machines and free weights. I would like if the free weights went to a higher weight. It is a good value for $10 a month. Often times when machines or things get broken it does take quite a while for them to be fixed. it never really gets excessively crowded which is nice as well.

It's time for Planet Fitness to realize the fitness world is more into weight training rather than cardio. If you enjoy weight training, be warned that all the equipment is always taken. You have to adapt your plan quickly or wait patiently for someone to finish their sets. This location is in desperate need of more smith machines and free weight benches and area.

Great atmosphere and the equipment offered is really good, they do need to get another Butterfly machine, there has been times when we couldn't use it. To many people waiting for it. Very popular machine.

I really enjoy going here. It is cheap and their equipment and amenities make it feel higher quality than other gyms. I have been a member at Golds and the Apple and still enjoy the atmosphere of this gym the best. It does get pretty damn busy but you can check how busy on their app.

I'm not sure if the heater is broke but this place is always freezing someone should tell them people go to the gym to sweat also there are the equipment is always under repairs...I'm going to a different gym asap

Most unprofessional staff I’ve ever met. For being a “judgment free zone” they sure have their snooty noses pretty high in the air. I wouldn’t recommend this gym to anyone. Marissa at the front desk is the worst.

Told us "we'll waive december's fee" because we couldnt afford the overdraft this month and my wife is recovering from childbirth anyways. Total lie, charged us anyways, cancelled the account. If you're thinking about cancelling and they try to talk you out of it by acting like they'll work with you, remember, you're talking to a salesman.
