I’ve enjoyed my time at Planet Fitness since they've opened their Lewiston location, but I had a rather uncomfortable experience recently. While using the men’s restroom, a female staff member began cleaning the space directly beside me. This situation felt a bit awkward, as I wasn’t expecting a woman to be present in the restroom during use.
While I completely understand the need to maintain cleanliness, and the effort to be inclusive for all customers, I feel that it would be helpful if there were a notice or some kind of warning about the possibility of anyone, including staff members, of the opposite gender being in the restrooms/locker rooms while they are being cleaned. This way, members can make a more informed decision about when to use the facilities.
Although I was only using the restroom, this may have been my wife or daughter taking a shower and feeling surprised and exposed. I am not here to judge anyone’s beliefs or actions, but I do believe something like this should be posted so all customers know what to expect.
I believe this small change could improve the experience for everyone and make the gym feel more considerate of members' comfort and privacy.

I love this place. I go at least 5 days a week and sometimes twice a day. They do so well at keeping the main are clean, but the tanning and total body area is really dirty. I will no longer use the lay down tanning because they aren't cleaned well enough, just a quick wipe. There was a sock left in one room and fingernails on the floor, not to mention hair balls all over the floor. The tanning room floors are really gross. The door handles on the inside to the tanning rooms are really dirty. This could spread diseases they need to step it up in these areas. Weekend crew is the worst they just don't clean. Changing room in the shower area needs vacuum and doors sanitized sitting benches in the changing stalls needs wiped down. Bathroom stall floors need to be cleaned better, especially behind the toilet. But this place is still the best in town
Note to staff order more stretching mats. There are never enough.

Joined in December for $15 a month. Assistant Manager said to cancel by the 10th to not receive $49 maintenance fee. I canceled on the 8th but they charged me $51 on February 3rd

I canceled my membership. 3 months later they are taking out a membership fee. I called about it and they basically told me too bad and I'm not getting a refund. I told them they can look and see when I canceled and they haven't pulled out money until randomly 3 months later and I got another too bad.... not very good business. They steal money.

Am new arrival to the health club/fitness scene in the LC Valley and Planet Fitness was recommended to me by a physical therapist I am using. What a great recommendation. First off, the people I talked to for an introduction to the club were friendly and first-rate. Spent time showing me around their very large facility and explained operation of all equipment I was not familiar with. Why? Because Planet has all the latest machines, (and plenty of every machine) stair step, tread mills, bikes, rowing machines, etc. Plus, all the other apparatus and free weights you would ever need. They have tanning booths and massage machines and a 30 minute cross-fit room. Oh, did I mention video screens? Well they are all over the place. My only request would be getting "closed captioning." Music played constantly. Planet also supports members with on-line lessons and exercise plans. Wide range of ages present and all shapes and sizes, not just the "super-fit." Saving the Best For Last: All of above at a reasonable price. And, through the summer, teens get in free. How can you beat that??????? Give it highest recommendation and 5*

I'll probably change this or atleast i hope I will. I went to their page to see what to expect but it wasn't the same. I felt uncomfortable personally. No one showed us around or explained any of the perks for our membership, no photo taken for check in, no trainers walking around helping people. Just a Group of young people who stood behind the counter talking the entire time
I assume it's new here and that it takes time to adjust or whatever it may be but I was pretty let down that it wasn't as advertised. Good equipment though and I'm happy for that and the affordability. I hope it grows and gets better then I may come back to change my review.

They cater to young people with loud squeeze music. Old people want to work out to but not when you have to take hearing aids out and the music is still to loud.

I absolutely love working out now. I didn't really much before, with doing the total body, the hydro message and message chairs definitely makes for a fun time afterwards. The environment is amazing and the staff is friendly, all together a wonderful atmosphere.

No help at all, I haven’t used the gym once, been in a car crash and have no job. Moved away and wasn’t able to contact them or go to the gym and I contacted their higher ups and they said to reach out to my home team for a refund. There was no way at all to get a refund and they were both rude and no help at all. I spoke to a women and a supervisor, neither one of them tried to help solve the issue either, just told me no.

First time ever having a gym membership and I'm so glad I got one and with Planet Fitness. I love coming here, it's fun for me. I feel alot happier and better all around with working out. Gym is really nice and clean. Staff are friendly and helpful! It's also affordable. Thank you so much!!

I love this place. You don't get results from a gym unless you go there regularly, and you don't go there regularly if it isn't fun to go in. This gym is well designed, it looks awesome, and the staff are really nice. I highly recommend.

I love our new Planet Fitness. I used to go to the gym all the time but the cost was getting more and more prohibitive. At PF I pay 24.95 for a black card membership is which is much less than I have ever paid. The amenities are superb from the Total Body Enhancement, to the Hydro-massage and deep tissue massage chairs. The staff has been phenomenal, it is clean and welcoming 5+ stars.
