Such a beautiful golf course! My husband golfs there all the time, and the staff is always very welcoming. Mike specifically let us take cute pictures on the golf course and accommodated around our schedule. Heβs amazing!

One of my favorite courses to play in the Treasure Valley. Course is always well kept, pacing is generally good, and you can't beat the value. Plus they have Mt Dew in the fountain!

I played here on 8/13/2025. The course was in great condition. The golf shop staff was professional, the course marshall kept us informed and the snack bar was good.
I could not have been a better experience.

Excellent course layout. It is in immaculate shape, greens are plush but a bit on the fast side. The Fairways are also plush, a bit soggy in a few places but they are in excellent shape! The sandtraps have nice sand!
Overall a great experience! An excellent bargain for the money!

I accidentally scheduled three tee times for Purple Sage in Wyoming. When I went in we realized my mistake. Despite having a tournament, the good people in the clubhouse made several arrangements to get me and my 13 family members on the course. What a great organization. I LOVE Purple Sage in Caldwell, IDAHO. Their course is awesome but their staff is even better.

Playing there today was the absolute very best golf experience. Every aspect of the course was just pristine. Your maintenance staff is above and beyond. And the price is right!

The course is in excellent shape and looks very well maintained. The greens, in particular, look immaculate. This is impressive and surprising considering how affordable it is to golf there. Kudos to the management and grounds-keeping team.

I witnessed an employee reprimand a player there today in such an inappropriate way that I felt I had to say something. This man was there with his son and had apparently broken some kind of rule that he was totally unaware of. I dont know who the employee was but he began yelling as he drove by on a golf cart, reprimanding this man as though he were a child. Everyone standing there just looked at each other , surprised to see an employee react like this. Its inexcusable to speak to anyone this way and most certainly a customer that has paid to be there. If there is a problem, there is a way to address it. Walk over to the person and treat them with respect. Not hard to do.

The grass was in great shape, the bunkers are clean, the cart paths are new, the price is affordable and the holes are long, plenty of room to let the big dog eat..!

Was hitting balls at 12:00 on a Saturday and the sprinklers turned on soaking me and my girlfriend and all our stuff, pretty hard for me to think that that was an accident why in the world are you running sprinklers on the driving range when thereβs people on the course

Best value in the Treasure valley. Green fees are almost half of what a lot of other courses are charging. 46$ midweek with a cart, compared to Timberstone 73$. Course is in great shape. Not very difficult to walk at all.

Well maintained and the best prices in the valley. Only $20 to walk 18 holes. I live in star and used to be a regular at riverbirch but their prices are over twice as much and the course isn't as well maintained as purple sage. I am now becoming a regular at purple sage. For the price this is the best course in the valley.

My rating of 4 out of 5 stars is because there was no available drinking water out on the course. The people were great and the course was absolutely beautiful.

I love the push carts. They are amazing. For some reason they put the 150 black and white poles on the sides of the fairway so it really confuses players that havenβt played here a lot because most courses are in the middle of the fairway. Course was in good shape.
My best score is 75. I really wish they would do red white and blue pen so you know where itβs at and the green because thereβs some pretty funky pin spots here.

Our experience with Purple Sage started terrible! We booked 5 teetimes for our group but we're told at the course that they only had us down for 2 TEETIMES! 12 people had to go home! Several people had paid and asked for their money back but were only offered a raincheck! Many will not go back! On the positive, the course was in great shape.

After allowing a 2 some to play through o the 5th hole, we were infoed that the 4 some behind was delayed. At the turn the 4 some played through as directed by the Marshall. After waiting forvthev4 some to finish the 10th hole, we had another 4 some waiting after 16. I guess they don't like people who finish in 4:20 for 18.

Played with my sister and her son and had so much fun. The course is in beautiful shape. Everything was near perfection, in my opinion, except for the bunkers as in the sand just isn't deep enough. Really hard to dig deep and follow-thru cuz the club hits hard ground under cuz there's such a thin layer. The greens are in excellent condition as are the fairways and the rough wasn't too long. Plan on playing there more often for sure. π

I just love this course, it's one of the largest in the areas and so gorgeous. The staff was so friendly and willing to help. I played a couple rounds with a few of them and they gave me pointers on why my slice is so bad, it fixed it, for the most part hahaha. You really just can't beat a sunrise out here, as you can see from the pictures. They really take pride in mowing and trimming everything to look perfect. I would for sure recommend going. They also have a membership that's super cheap and tournaments all the time (for sure every tuesday). Along with ladies league, senior league and others. Give this a thumbs up if you agree π

Purple Sage was in nice shape when I played. This course is flat and easy to walk. The price was great as well. One of the most interesting things about this course was its overall layout. It felt like they built 18 holes on a 36 hole piece of land. The trees on the edges of the fairways didn't connect to another hole, but rather an empty rough area about the width of another fairway. This would be a great place for players who slice or hook the ball to not worry about hitting/injuring another player.

I have been golfing for many years at many different places and never had an experience like this. My Wife, my grandfather, and I show up 10mins early just to be told we were late. Then by the 4th hole, we were told that we were moving too slow, mind you my grandfather is 85 years old and the fact that he can still golf speaks for its self. When we finished our 9 holes I went to turn in the cart keys and the same guy that told us that we were late tells me that I had a complaint about driving too close to the green... I've never experienced so much complaining and disrespect at a golf course. Talk about not feeling wanted. I will not be coming back and if anyone asks I will let them know it was a horrible experience.

A flat but longish track (for us seniors) with excellent, above average conditioning. Cost-wise it's a real bargain. I don't want a long term commitment but as an occasional change of scenery--I'm in.

I used to like going to this course because it was kept in good condition and the price was right. Unfortunately, the last two times we went were on the weekend in the mornings. They don't tell you that the play is going to be so slow because they allow fivesomes or 3 groups of fivesomes back to back. I called the first time while on the course to let them know about it and was told that it was the mens group and they get to play fivesomes. This is fine during the week but not on the weekend.
I also went to the snack bar and the server was coughing and didn't have a mask on.
We will be going to other courses instead.

Very rude employee
No customer service
Donβt know how to communicate to a customer
They donβt even have a pro shop manager to speak to you when you ask to speak to one
I will never go back to the golf course
And the pro shop was very rude to me
Felt that they were better than me

Purple stage is one of the most rudest courses Iβve played in a long time
Discriminating me of my skin tone
They thought I try to take a Gatorade
But I paid and they gave it to me
And then the manager asked employee three times if I paid for it obviously I have to because the Gatoradeβs are behind the calendar
I felt humiliated and shamed
I will never go back again
Very upsetting Poor management

Course Marshall actually told one of the gals in our group to just give up golf! The rudest most run Down course we have ever played on. Trying way to hard to be falconcrest without the course or the pros. Definently save your time and money and bypass this hole in the wall course!!

I recently went out to Purple Sage with a friend who is a member. The pro was welcoming, the fees were quite reasonable and the course was in EXCELLENT condition. The woman at the refreshment counter was fabulous. When someone at the desk is rude I suggest calling back during business hours and asking for the manager and lodging your complaint. The previously posted story of the man with his young boys may be an insurance issue but the employee should absolutely have explained it with courtesy and respect. Our game is the greatest for the public and should be treated with respect by everyone including course employees and especially front desk/pro shop staff.

This course needs a new employee...There is certain man that works the pro shop that has no sense of Business, common sense, professionalism or customer service. He turned away money and was a complete jerk to me and two up and coming junior golfers who happen to be my son's. So I went to the Star, ID, Riverbirch instead. Great course, great prices
About 6:30 pm not a soul on the course except a couple folks coming off 17 and 18. No league, nobody teeing off, nothing to do on this "City", "Public" course except welcome the next eager golfer.
My son's 3 and 5, who are completely jacked with their new clubs and the chance to play golf with their Dad, show up in the barren parking lot. I've played this course over 100 times a familiar face and always respectful. I went with the intentions of teaching them how to play and address the greens and respect the course and take their turns and love the game. Sure they're going to take a chunk of grass here or there but hardly anything everyone else takes.
I was going to get a cart, pay full price for all three of us and teach some future golfers how it's done. Before I even reach the steps of the club house this belligerent employee races out from his seat, since nobody was inside, to the top of the steps and yells out in a angry tone and furrowed eyebrows, "Stop, how old are those boys". I said 3 and 5 and immediate was cut off and in a matter of fact way was abruptly informed "Can't play here too young" I looked around and asked if there was something I was missing? There is no league, nobody on the course and we're ready to pay and play, "Nope, club rules"
