Really good gym. It's smaller but it has everything you need. It does get a bit crowded at times. But everyone there is courteous, only reason I'm not going there anymore is because I'm moving.

What a great gym we have here in Star! Super clean, has everything you need, and everyone from owners, staff, and members are fantastic. Very friendly, everyone is courteous with keeping the place clean and weights racked. Highly recommend if you're looking for a no-nonsense place to work out. This place has everything you need. Oh, and did I mention there is tanning and a juice bar! Well done, The Gym!

Been my home gym for 2 years now and I love everything about it. The owners Chris and Lauren are awesome people. They really care about their customers and their community.

You can tell by just walking in at anytime of the day or night. They are there all the time working out, interacting with people, upgrading equipment, and even fixing things.

The Gym is always Neat, Clean, and Organized. All of their crew is always cleaning, vacuuming, washing towels, or helping out in one way or another. They always stay busy and available to everyone. It always makes for a great workout.

A super convenient location with amazing staff! This gym has changed a lot (for the better) over the past year by expanding their free weight room and adding a conjoined smoothie shop. I love this place for a quick workout, tan, and snack or smoothie - would definitely recommend to anyone in the area and have truly enjoyed my time here so far!

I had to switch cards for my billing. There was a mix up and a closed account was billed- so my monthly payment was not made. Instead of shutting down my key faub, they were extremely understanding and friendly......the two gentlemen I talked to informed me that they do not shut down the entry keys without first talking the member- I very much appreciated that so my workout routine was not affected whatsoever! I've been a member at numerous gyms- planet fitness, Johnny's, anytime, snap and even a couple "mom and pop" places. The Gym has been above all of these in my experiences and very much customer service oriented! They do care about their members and understand the importance some of us (at least myself) put on keeping with a workout routine! I was seriously stressing that I'd miss a Sunday workout! LOL. So thank you to the entire staff at The Gym- place is clean, never out of anything, super friendly and everything always working!

Been going here for a year now. My wife and I love The Gym! Super clean, friendly and has everything we need. The owners are super nice and listen to input from the members. Awesome little gym located on State in Star Idaho! Friendly gym members and really has everything you could want. Two squat/deadlift cages, a turf area, good weight selection, lot of machines to do legs on and a nice cardio area. Bought a day pass and loved it! Would go here if I lived in the area!

The new owners always keep it super clean, all of the equipment is good quality and not broken, It’s clear they take pride in the layout and atmosphere. Always a super good vibe in the gym, and I especially love the addition of the Echo Bike and Assault Runner treadmill! Not to mention they recently traded out the somewhat dated treadmills to all matching high quality treadmills. I’m a runner, and it’s nice to use a treadmill that doesn’t have all the BS heart rate/age charts and different programs that people don’t ever use. Hit any percentage incline button, or any mph button and it quickly gets there. Kind of an obscure preference, but it’s nice! Also it’s the only gym in Star that has a squat rack, which it has two. 5/5

Overall this is a great gym. The price is reasonable and it has an impressive amount of equipment for how small it is. The owners are friendly and do a great job maintaining the building/equipment. The other members that I have interacted with are all very friendly and help to create a comfortable environment to work out in. As mentioned earlier this is a small gym so if you are looking for exotic equipment or multiple of every machine this is not the gym for you. The gym normally had no more than 8 people in at a time and you can often find less than 3-4 other people.

If you are looking for an awesome gym, THE GYM is the place for you. This gym is locally owned and the new owners have really stepped up and taken THE GYM to a new level. Great atmosphere, great equipment, and great people. They have everything you need from cardio to free weights to functional equipment. Great place if one is into weight training. (If you are looking for “Hot yoga” or Spin classes, this place may not be for you. Pure and simple. Huge stacks of iron plates and bars, Countless Dumbbells, Vast selection of Weight Machines, and plenty of cardio machines as well. The Gym is always clean and tidy and well kept. The clientele tend to be very nice people, which has lead me to make a number of new friends since joining. I also really love the “open 24 hours” policy. Very pleased that I found this place. I couldn’t be happier!

Clean, however repairs to equipment and facilities are slow to nonexistent

Update after response from owner:

The repairs that need to be made are not the ones that the landlord are really responsible for ie mirror, equipment, tanning bed
The mirror has been broken and acknowledged for about 6 months, the tanning bed has had bulbs out for the majority of the year (and repair requests have been sent and was a pointless waste of my time a it never is repaired). Some equipment has been Jerry rigged together and doesn’t provide symmetric operation leaving it worthless to use and possibly harmful to a workout.
I have been a member of this gym for a year now, reluctantly recently as what it offers isn’t worth the cost with the facility neglect that has been obvious for the last year here.
On top of being overpriced and the bi yearly facility maintenance dues (on top of the monthly dues) seem to find nothing.
Recently the size of the gym has been almost cut in half, removing the area for free weights , cross fit and classroom space. It appears there will be a closet sized something but I can’t see it being much more than storage.
I have given a year before speaking publicly about this place thinking the owners would use their profits and facility maintenance dues to address problems that I have directly communicated to them with NO avail. It is unfortunate that we have so few choices here locally in Star for gyms.

The owner was informed on 1/11/2017 to cancel my membership and stop auto-charging my credit card. He charged me $23.99 on 1/23/2017 and then $10.00 on 1/27/2017, and then another $23.99 on 2/7/2017. I've reverted to blocking his charges with the credit card company. If the charges persist, I will resort to other outlets.
