I called and requested to cancel my account they told me they did but they didn’t. They continued to charge a card that I closed for fraud and ended up racking up a huge balance of over $700. They want me to pay this amount otherwise they’ll send me to collections. Whoever told me they canceled my account is stupid and I’m
so pissed. This should not fall back on me. And ofc they don’t tell me about any of this till a year later. I haven’t even set foot in this gym for a year now and they are really trying to be greedy and send me to collections. It’s disgusting. Maybe give your employees more knowledge on your policies and contracts so they don’t tell costumers something false, and then the customer ends up having to be reliable for it. I wouldn’t recommend anyone going here unless you want to get scammed.

Good gym overall. Like the 24/7 feature and the diverse training equipment from top manufactures in the industry. Cardio equipment could use a facelift with woodway treadmills, peloton bikes, higher end esd training capability and not just matrix treadmills or stairmasters. Staff can be interesting but more so a big fish in little pond type of scenarios. Boise is a C to D market so they do a great job with the area / demographics given. Helps that Trader Joe's is next door. Good location in area. Would like to see turf become better.

I kept hearing great things about this gym and decided to try it out. I LOVE IT! I started training with Kelsie and she really helped me understand new movements and how to use the machines the correct way. She also worked with me on my nutrition, which was very helpful for my goals. I have been active for most of my life in gyms, but never really understood how much your posture and your form play into everything. Especially food. I am so glad to have had Kelsie show me the ropes. She is very supportive, driven, and inspiring. If you are looking for a trainer to help assist you inside and out of the gym, she is a great choice!

I have known Kelsie for years, we have worked together on many things and this year after she became a trainer I wanted nothing more than to work with her on myself! I have learned so much from her in the past 6 months. She has been honest and kind with me every step of the way! She is so FUN to train with, always brings a good attitude to the session. She has also helped improve form i mayyy have been doing wrong for sometime now.. Having a trainer really makes a difference! Kelsie is a HARD worker and cares when it come to herself which reflects in her client work, she cares just as much in making your goals become a reality! Truly couldn't recommend her more:)

I started going to the mecca in June to start training with Kelsie and get reinspired in the gym. She has helped me perfect my form and help refresh my outlook on working out, I look forward to going to the gym and always want to improve and learn new things. Kelsie is the perfect trainer to help with whatever programs you are looking for whether its just starting out or wanting a new challenge in your training routine

I’ve been with Mecca since we moved here in May & couldn’t be happier. It felt like home when I toured so I signed up immediately, only to learn later that they have a bit of a meathead/bodybuilder reputation. I’d tell people where I go & would hear “OMG you’re brave!”
Real talk… this place does have a ton of bodybuilders, we’re talking high level athletes. Most people who go here are in good shape, me… I got a ways to go. But I can honestly say I’ve never felt one ounce of judgement or felt a single side-eye. Instead I’ve found a whole team of v knowledgeable professionals who live & breathe fitness.
I’m not new to working out but was having a hard time getting back into it after the move so I recruited the help of a trainer & I’m so glad! Kelsie has been the missing piece to get me back on the wagon. As a pro bodybuilder herself, she has a deep understanding of physical training & nutrition, focuses on form over numbers, listens to how you’re feeling & won’t push beyond your limits. But she’s also just an absolute gem of a human who I genuinely look forward to seeing 3 days a week.
They’ve connected me with physical therapists, hormone specialists, nutrition shops, etc. & I’m feeling better than I have in a long time. Moral of the story: even if you’re not where you want to be physically, don’t be intimidated by fit people, use them as inspiration, motivation, knowledge. You are who you surround yourself with. They’re there to help. Let them <3

The Mecca is one of the best gyms I’ve ever trained at. The equipment is unique and fun to use, and the atmosphere is motivating without being intimidating. Plus, all of the staff and members I’ve met are friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help.
I’ve been training with Julian twice a week for about a month now and have already seen and felt great results in my body recomp. I’m just starting to get back into heavy lifting after a bilateral hip arthroscopy, and he’s personalized my program to support my goals, while keeping that in mind. He really takes the time to get to know my strengths, weaknesses, and how to challenge me in the right ways - not to mention he is super encouraging, attentive, and genuinely invested in his clients and their progress.
Stoked to have found this gym - can’t recommend The Mecca and Julian enough!

Super recommend Sam!!! She has been the most amazing trainer! Post my third pregnancy, I’ve wanted to get back into the gym to work on myself. From the very first day she’s made me feel super comfortable and helped me get past the intimidation of going to a new gym! She knows her stuff! Super informative on how to do every workout and how to work every machine. Literally the best! For sure has helped me boost my self confidence every single day! Love my trainer!!

I can’t say enough great things about my personal trainer, Julian Wates, at The Mecca Gym (which is always clean and has really innovative machines). Julian is an incredible communicator and true professional—he knows how to push me when I need it and hold me accountable, even on the days I want to give up.
He takes the time to explain and demonstrate every movement and machine, making sure my form is correct and that I understand what muscles we’re targeting. His workout plans are always thoughtful and well-balanced, designed to complement different muscle groups and help me progress safely and effectively.
Beyond training, Julian’s knowledge of health, fitness, and nutrition is outstanding. He’s always willing to answer my questions about diet, supplements, and overall wellness. I’ve learned so much from him and truly appreciate his dedication to helping me reach my goals.
I highly recommend Julian Wates to anyone looking for a personal trainer who genuinely cares about their clients’ success and brings expertise, motivation, and professionalism to every session.

I have been training with a group of friends (3 of us) at The Mecca Gym once a week for the last 4 months. They have friendly and knowledgeable staff, especially our trainer, Julian Wates. We get great demonstrations on the equipment we are using, thoughtful workouts designed to challenge our fitness with focus on correct form so that we work safely and stay injury free. I take classes at another gym but this session is always the best part of my week. Showing up once a week and getting familiarized with the gym and equipment in this group training session has helped so much! It got me get past the intimidation I felt when I first walked in not knowing anyone and not knowing how to use the numerous machines/gym equipment. If you want to get a great workout with top notch equipment and training, I highly recommend The Mecca Gym!

I started going to the Mecca Gym specifically to work out with Julian Wates, a personal trainer there. The plan was to do it for a couple of months but I am stronger and it’s been so much fun that I am still going every week 7 months later!
I work out with 2 other ladies and Julian comes prepared every week with a program that challenges all of us even though we may use different weights. He is so knowledgeable and motivating! He pays close attention to our form and offers corrections which I greatly appreciate. He challenges me but is also encouraging. He knows a lot about supplements and nutrition too. He mostly does personal sessions, but if you have friends who enjoy working out, I highly recommend a group session as a complement to personal sessions or as an alternative.
The gym is great too! It's never too crowded and has great equipment that is well-maintained. The staff is super friendly and helpful too.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review for Coach Julian at The Mecca
Julian is an exceptional coach at The Mecca, combining knowledge, patience, and professionalism in every session. He takes the time to explain how to properly use each machine, what muscles we’re targeting, and why each movement matters for achieving specific results. He always ensures correct form and teaches how different muscle groups work together toward your end goal.
He’s also great about helping with nutrition and diet planning — an area I struggle with — and offers advice that’s both realistic and encouraging. Julian is kind, polite, and genuinely cares about your progress. He keeps you motivated through tough workouts, celebrates your progress, and makes sure you never walk away feeling unsure about what you’re doing.
What stands out most is his dedication, not only to his clients but also to the community. He participates in charitable challenges and runs to support good causes, showing he’s just as committed outside the gym as he is inside it.
Overall, Julian is a knowledgeable, encouraging, and professional trainer who truly wants to see his clients succeed. The Mecca is lucky to have him, and I’d highly recommend training with Julian if you’re serious about reaching your fitness goals the right way.

They post a free day pass on their Instagram, I called them and ask how I can redeem it, they tell me to bring the a screenshot of the post to the Mecca and show them. Then they proceeded to not let me in because I “wasn’t interested in buying a membership” and told me that it’s for their “community”
Don’t post a free pass if it’s not free.

Great gym, staff isn’t super friendly so I didn’t give 5 stars because of that and lack of ability to bring a guest. No tanning bed, I don’t think they had a sauna either but I could be wrong as I only spent 2 hours there. They have great equipment, the best I’ve ever used. Movements feel natural and you get a deep stretch on your movements. Max resistance at max depth. Legit. I only hit my Push day because they only offer a single day pass. Would have loved to try pull and legs. I would make this my home gym in a heartbeat if they allowed guests, a few more amenities, and had tanning. The Mecca ranks up there amongst the best in the area that I’ve tried (Crunch, Villa, YMCA, Idaho Fitness Factory, Planet Fitness). It’s definitely #1 out of all these. No basketball court, no other amenities, just a solid gym. Great equipment, clean, members with good gym etiquette.

As a collegiate football strength coach you need a place to get away from your own facility every once in awhile. The Mecca Gym has been that home for me the last 3 years. The equipment - from the knurling on the barbells to the upholstery on accessory equipment are no doubt the best in the valley. There is an abundance of various equipment. Another major plus is this is a locally owned family business, not some franchise that wants you to pay and not show up. It is a very mature gym and a competitors paradise, from powerlifting, bodybuilding, Oly lifting, strong man, you name it they have the space and equipment for you. The staff is fantastic (actually talk to them) and you’ll become part of a fantastic community.
My wife and i have loved our time here and The Mecca Gym, it’s staff, and members have been a family for us since moving to Idaho in 2022 and hate that we will be leaving this place behind.

This is easily the best gym in the treasure valley if you are looking for a mature, friendly gym culture. Yes the equipment is top-of-the-line, but more importantly the patrons and staff are friendly, mature, and understanding. There is a wealth of fitness & health knowledge at this gym and a hard-working culture that money cannot buy.

I've had my eye on this gym for a while and was prepared to hop on board with their $10 sign up promo, but then I noticed a "maintenance fee" of $99/year in addition to the $60/month membership fee. I'm struggling to come up with ideas as to why they would charge EXTRA for sticking with them for a full year.
Edit: Response was unnecessarily condescending.
I mentioned in my review that I wasn't a member.
"Industry standard" doesn't make extra fees ok, you have to be able to justify them

I highly recommend Mecca. The people, atmosphere and equipment are like no other! One of the first smiles you'll see is Adri! Adri is a bright, shining example of what a gym employee should be, with a personality and demeanor that stand out above most. Her positive attitude and dedication to creating a welcoming environment make her an invaluable part of the gym team. What truly sets her apart, though, is the family feel she brings with her adorable little daughter, who lights up the space with her presence. This unique touch creates a warm, community-driven atmosphere unlike any other gym in the valley, completely dispelling the common stereotype of aggressive, steroid-fueled gym-goers. Thanks to Adri, the gym feels like a place where everyone belongs, free from the negative stigma. The rest of the staff are also exceptional, and words can't fully capture the level of excellence they deliver or the incredible talent that the Mecca team has brought together!

Great if you have a kid !!
As a single mom of a 4 year old with 100% custody, the Mecca has been more than overly accommodating for me. I can always bring my child there with me knowing she has a safe place to play with other kids while I can work out.
Adri in particular has gone above and beyond for me, and our daughters get to play together there when our schedules work out.
You also don't have to worry about trying to fit your schedule into other time restrictive Child Care hours that other gyms have.
The Mecca also has great equipment, 24 hours access and great trainers available to access as well.
This is the best gym I have used in Idaho by far. Highly recommend for parents !!

Been going to Mecca for close to 2 years now so I feel qualified to write a review. TLDR; Mecca is probably the best gym I’ve used in my 15yrs of lifting and I’ve tried pretty much every gym in the area. I think it’s unlikely they disappoint you regardless of skill level.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, equipment repaired quickly/well kept, clean bathrooms always, a wide variety of excellent trainers depending on your goals if you want that, and a great assortment of quality machines, infinite cable attachments, bands, as well as a large powerlifting/olympic area with chalk and dbs up to 150 (one set feels like 190s?). I’ve rarely had to wait for things even when busy which is a huge plus (I do workout midday so I can’t speak for the 5pm crowd). There is a posing studio which is fun to see your progress and they also have posing coaches if you’re looking to compete or whatever.
Tbh I’m not sure how there are any disgruntled reviews saying this place is dirty or machines are broken a lot, I’m here 6x a week and its always clean and pretty much every time something breaks its fixed within a week. Ive been to the other gyms in Boise, they are not ‘cleaner’ and even the best still take a week to fix a machine, so I’m not sure what they mean by compared to other gyms, it certainly isn’t Boise. And if chalk on plates and bars in the Olympic area makes you think this gym is dirty I’m not even sure where to begin with that statement…
This gym is kid friendly and I love it, it adds a liveliness and family element to the gym which I think makes Mecca very welcoming and fun. If you have a child, you don’t have to fit your workout around anyone else’s schedule or make an excuse to not come -you can just bring em. They have a kids area and even have a kids clinic on Saturdays with one of their trainers. Kids aren’t running through the machines and weight areas ever and not once has a kid ever been in my way or disrupted anything whatsoever. I also want to mention to the moms(or dads) it is not out of place to see a baby carrier next to a bench so don’t ever let that be a reason to skip the gym, there is plenty of space.
Mecca is home to some of the best and most knowledgeable lifters, don’t be afraid to ask anyone for advice or to work in or whatever, everyone is friendly, I promise. Highly recommend this place.

I used to speak very highly of this gym when they were still located off of meridian road. Being open 24 hours was a huge plus for me, but ever since they "upgraded" and moved to there current location the pros have finally been outweighed by the increasing list of cons.
What was originally a nice bodybuilding/powerlifting focused gym has basically turned in to another overcrowded, gimmicky trend equipped, and overpriced run of the mill commercial gym which is really disappointing.
Don't even get me started on the redundant or underused equipment they continue to purchase, like they can squeeze in three different variations of the chest fly machine or barbell curl machine but couldn't get a freaking adjustable decline bench press for whatever reason. Not to mention the constant phones, tripods, and camera setups make it extremely annoying to navigate around the already limited space in this facility.
Also the cleanliness of the equipment can be very sus at times along with the terrible gym etiquette of just not returning the weights to where they actually belong.
I've been going to this gym since 2017 after my deployment and unfortunately now I'm looking for a new gym which I don't want to but I just can't deal with the direction this gym has gone.

The Mecca has been my go-to gym when I'm in town visiting family (usually 1-2 times a year) since the original location first opened in Meridian. It was a little disheartening coming in today and seeing the gym in a dissaray. For someone who knows the power of a great gym (and the impact it can have to lose it), I'm disappointed to see that Mecca members aren't appreciating what they have at their fingertips. Plates are left on the equipment and on the floor, pads and blocks are scattered throughout the space, and cable attachments are littered around the gym.
I hope that people will start to appreciate this great gym and take better care of it.

I have heard nothing but good things about this gym just to be somewhat disappointed when I had to pay $20 for a single day pass for a gym that has clearly not been taken care of. The gym wasn’t disgusting but just dirty in the ways that bothered me coming from a super clean and organized gym. There were multiple plates that had been covered in chalk, chalk basically everywhere around the deadlift platforms. Their “cleaning station” was ONE SINGLE WET TOWEL with the spray bottle, sorry that’s disgusting. The machines were really cool just not maintained well, most of the equipment needed to be re-upholstered and cleaned. The building itself is nice and large but there is a lot of stuff making it look very cluttered. The posing room was pretty cool but not enough to justify a dirty unorganized gym for $58 a month and a $100 annual feel. You can get better for cheaper

I've been a member of The Mecca since it first opened in 2015, and it's a gym experience unlike any other. Normally, I don't take the time to write reviews, but this place deserves recognition. Despite passing four other gyms on my way, and even with their relocation adding to my commute, The Mecca has been worth every extra mile.
The community here is incredible—there's a real sense of growth and camaraderie that's hard to find elsewhere. The owners genuinely care about their members' goals, constantly upgrading the equipment to ensure we have what we need. It’s not some corporate money-grab gym; it's a place where you feel supported and understood.
The staff are knowledgeable and always willing to help. The layout is well-thought-out, catering to everyone from beginners to seasoned lifters. Yes, peak hours can get busy, especially in the evenings, but the redundancy in equipment means you rarely have to wait long and can still get a solid lift in within a hour. The members are super personable. They definitely are there to lift, not just play on theirs phone and take up space. 24-hour access is awesome too!
If you're looking for a gym that goes beyond the basics, The Mecca is it. It's clean, well-maintained, and most importantly, it's a place where you can grow, both physically and as part of a supportive community.

I went to Mecca an average of 6 days a week for the last year. Here are my thoughts:
The facility is pretty good, but not great. It is kept *incredibly* clean, which I always appreciated, and generally orderly. Maintenance, though, has really gone downhill the last few months, with more and more equipment being broken for longer and longer, if it's ever fixed at all.
The equipment selection is decent, but quirky. They have a great selection of cardio equipment, most of the strength machines that most people will need, and a few truly standout pieces (their new Gymleco preacher curl is fantastic!). But then they have some advanced show-pieces almost no one uses (seal row, inverted leg press) and waaay too many butt-builders (*fourteen* in the "leg room" alone, including three different abductors!), all while missing many basic staples (seated dip machine, captains chair, back extension, and they only recently got a basic t-bar row, to give you an idea). If you tour this gym, be sure to take a mental inventory of what they do and don't have.
Pricing is a bit higher than average, especially when factoring in amenities they can't offer (multiple locations), don't offer (childcare, group classes), or only offer at higher pricing tiers (guest passes), as well as the (surprise!) $100 annual maintenance fee. There's also a $100 early cancelation fee if you leave before your year is up.
If you're interested in personal training, they have many excellent trainers to choose from. If you're not, then most of the trainers--certainly not all, but definitely most--are a huge nuisance, treating regular members like they're in their way, and the facility like their own private club. While this is true at every gym with trainers on staff, Mecca has *fourteen* of them--and counting!--, which for a gym this size is absolutely flabbergasting.
A common complaint is Mecca gets busy. On the one hand, every gym gets busy. On the other, Mecca always feels way busier than it ever actually is. The layout is really inefficient (way too much wasted, open space in some areas, and equipment placed way too close together elsewhere). Most people are here to socialize or film social media content, including the staff (truly, the level of filming is beyond anything I've ever seen at a gym before, and its incredibly obtrusive: it's not just propping up phones against water bottles, which everyone does; it's tripods, ring-lights, one member interviewing another for their channel, and even **dedicated videographers**). That enormous "leg room" is under-utilized, because the kinds of people to whom 14 butt-builders appeal don't want to do them in a secluded back room, so they're all out on the main floor finding inventive and conspicuous ways to turn every pulley and upper-body machine into lower-body. Finally, member etiquette is generally very poor, especially when school is out. This gym would feel half as busy if they rearranged the floor to be functional instead of Insta-postable, disbursed the leg room, and reprimanded bad behavior.
All this together makes Mecca a two-star gym to me. I will say if the location is convenient and you have a high tolerance for bad etiquette, Mecca is worth checking out. I would not, however, drive past another gym to get here. I would also start with a week pass to try it out first before committing to a year.

Nice try. You illegally charged me before the next month. And you didn't seem to fix the issue. And you lied directly to me about the annual fee. The Mecca will see this review, and maybe you'll consider what you'll change as an owner in time. But you don't care because it's all about money.

The 1-star review is due to a wild safety incident and how Mecca handled it. I started a membership and was there for only 2 months before they let some stranger without a membership into the gym who physically broke into my locker, stole my wallet, and immediately went on a shopping spree with all my credit cards.
I called the police who came and I filed a report. During that process and my back-and-forth with various staff I mentioned that of course I would like to cancel and expect given the extreme circumstance that the cancellation fee would be waved. I was quickly assured that would not be a problem.
6 months go by and I don't hear a word from Mecca until I get a nasty email telling me I owe them over $300 in unpaid membership fees. Shocked, I call them up to discuss. Whoever I talked to told me to email the manager. Manager didn't reply back to me but the billing person did and basically explained that they could care less if my wallet is stolen and since I did not follow some specific sign they claim was posted somewhere that in order to cancel you have to *email* the manager (I guess talking to him or the people reporting directly to him is not enough), they would not consider the verbal agreement at the time valid.
Even though I didn't lay foot in the gym since, even though their lack of security (not checking people's membership status during the day) lead to my wallet getting stolen, even though they silently went along for 6 months without communication making it seem settled, they have sent this made-up "bill" to a collections agency. Haven't dealt with a business so vile and greedy before in my life.
As for the gym itself, incredibly overrated. You are basically paying double what you should to deal with an overcrowded gym with frequently broken machines and which is a bit filthy at times. Take your money elsewhere!

I worked with Eric in Wellness and utilized their gym. I like the posing coach, Kaylia. John is great. Their nutritionist kept trying to get me to buy her tests and products, trying to sell me on The Blood Type Diet. John was helping me with my cut for my San Diego show and he disagreed with her altogether. Why is she their sponsored nutritionist? I went to my competition having used Eric’s Wellness program. He also said I need to be in Bikini. “There’s a lot of Wellness wannabes out there.” I placed 2nd at The Tahoe Show in Wellness, prior to training with Eric. The judges said don’t do Bikini. which I informed him of. He still felt I’m more of a Bikini competitor so he instructed me to spend on Bikini posing. The feedback from the San Diego judges was this: My shoulders were too big, I was underweight and to never do Bikini ever again. Always listen to the judges over trainers. My posing was spot on. Thank you Kaylia.

It’s clean. It’s got well maintained equipment, both new and old. Members are respectful and take care of the gym and wipe up after themselves. It’s got variety and is well laid out and is open 24 hours. I took 1 star away because they charged me the annual fee twice when I signed up, and I tried to call to get it resolved multiple times but the phone number listed on google said it was disconnected and I had to resolve it with my cc company instead, which was annoying.

I was intimidated to attend this gym and I’m almost 2 months in and I LOVE IT! The staff and members are incredibly nice and helpful. It is not constant “model” filming and selfies like I had “heard” it’s actually the opposite. The members seem to be here to focus on goals, and for me that is very uplifting and motivating.

I love my experience at The Mecca I was pretty intimidated after not being in the gym for years, and not knowing my way around the machines. I signed up for Personal training with Cami two times a week and it has been the best all around decision I have made for myself. As a homeschooling mom of 3 I rarely find the time for myself and Cami has been so flexible and supportive with me and helping me set and reach the goals Ive made for myself. I couldn't be happier with my experience with her and with the gym as a whole. Immaculately clean, friendly staff and gym goers and the equipment is well maintained and some of the most up to date I've seen. Give them a try you won't be disappointed

I recently started working out here, and have REALLY loved it so far! I was at the YMCA, and still am for the kids, but I wasn't getting a ton of motivation there during my workouts. At The Mecca, the whole vibe is much better for me to get in a hard workout. There's no intimidation factor, either, which is really great...everybody there seems to be kind and the atmosphere has been developed from the top down to be a welcoming place for all. It's always clean and energetic. The equipment choices are great, and you can target any muscle zone you want to with some specialized machines they have. Anything you need in a gym, they got it! Highly recommend!

short version: Good equipment but weird policies and bad staff
long version: I can only go to the gym on Saturdays. Well, they host a powerlifting meet four Saturdays a year and on that day, they close off a portion of the gym to members. That seems like a strange policy to me but okay, that's their decision. So I go to cancel my membership and I tell the manager it's because I won't have access to the gym for "about 10% of the Saturdays per year." Well, rather than just cancel my membership he told me "Sir, you can't math. That's actually less than one percent."
Happy to go somewhere else.

i’m goin to be honest !! i absolutely loved the gym equipment & the locker rooms being fully stocked with all the girly things BUT there is not enough support in this gym. i have been to many gyms for a few years now & i have never felt like i didn’t belong there like i felt here at the mecca. having a strong gym community and having people who are there for you and want to support you is huge. i understand that this is a powerlifting/bodybuilding gym but there can be a better balance of being proud of where your at but also cheering others along. the workers here aren’t very welcoming at all, the atmosphere just feels very cliquey. i mean it’s fine as it is geared toward experienced gym goers but at least don’t pretend you are the most supportive gym in meridian because you aren’t.

Overall, The Mecca is a really good gym. They have a lot of nice pieces of equipment, and it is a clean facility. That said, there is always room for improvement.
I feel that while they do have a lot of really good equipment, they have a couple redundant pieces, or a few pieces they could combine into a single amenity. This would create more room for new equipment they don't have. Some pieces of equipment I REALLY wish they had are
1.) A plate-loaded incline chest press machine
2.) A plate-loaded chest supported mid-row
3.) A plate-loaded lat pullover machine
4.) A better assisted pullup machine with more ROM
5.) A back-extension machine.
Other than bringing in some better/newer pieces of equipment, I'd like to see
1.) The towels used to wipe down the equipment changed out more often
2.) The resistance bands on a rack somewhere so members can get to them even when the front desk is closed
3.) A better selection of cable row and pulldown handles out on a rack. Right now, because the majority of the handles are locked up behind the desk, some movements aren't able to be done unless you come in during business hours - if you come in after business hours and need a particular handle for a movement, you might be out-of-luck.
4.) A better 45-degree hyperextention. The current one is difficult to use because it doesn't lock the ankles/feet in place, and it also doesn't have room for male genitalia.
Still a really great gym, though. Hoping to see improvements in these areas though.

Definitely one of the best gyms I've been to, it has more free weight equipment than most gyms like multiple squat racks, benches, deadlift platforms and a green area for things like sled pulls. It has everything I ever needed, the only downsides are that it tends to be relatively busy, is a little pricy and I ended up needing to go somewhere a little more affordable and canceling my membership has been difficult. Still a great gym nonetheless.

Firstly, best gym equipment wise and the best coaching out there. Garrett has been coaching me for well over a year and helped me to get on stage for my first show. He is hands down the best coach at Mecca, and he cares about physical and mental health equally. Kaylia is a phenomenal coach and friend and was grateful to have her in my corner. The only issue I have is the HERDS of “influencers” recording, distracting and taking up unnecessary space. I understand getting lean is exciting and you want documentation of that, but please for love of god stop taking up 1/4 of the gym with camera crews and let people just work out.

I have been a member at the Mecca since 2021, I have nothing but great things to say about the Mecca. In March 2023, I started training with Allegra Simms. I just hit week 4 of my program and I am so please with my whole training experience. I started at 7 month postpartum, a little lost and unsure how to dive back into fitness with all the things life throws at you. Allegra has really dialed in on a nutrition/workout plan tailored specifically to me. She is incredibly thorough, organized, professional, and holds you accountable.
In addition, the workout equipment is absolutely awesome and I love that every time I go to the gym there is always staff cleaning; sweeping, taking out trash and wiping down equipment.
Great coaches, cleanly environment, awesome equipment.

I love Mecca. But specifically I love working with Coach Marlon Carson at Mecca. I was a garage gym grinder for over 15 years before I finally decided to use a gym for my strength and lifting goals. Researched many local gyms and finally chose Mecca because of Marlon and what he brought to the table. Been working out with him for 3.5 years. Though the gym moved locations, grew and had many changes with staff and atmosphere, Marlon has been an anchor for the Strongman, Powerlifting, and Strength and Conditioning crowd. Due to his expertise, comfortable personality, and desire to help me reach my goals, I've been able to conquer not only gym PRs, but also other strength and conditioning goals I set for myself like lifting strength stones in Iceland, climbing mountains and excelling in backcountry hunts. But Marlon has also inspired me, where I have chosen to take lessons learned in the gym of grit, resilience, and overcoming failure, and applying them to my personal life, as well as my business.
Honestly, Marlon as my coach is the reason I've stayed at Mecca all these years. He brings value, expertise, exceptional credentials and a personal style that are next level.

I've been a known "gym environment" hater and have primarily enjoyed working out at home with my own home gym....HOWEVER that was because the Mecca was not my gym before I joined a year ago. Seriously the BEST gym I have ever been to. First of all, it's very much like a "family" of sorts. Everyone is friendly and they take notice of your progress and milestones with you. I haven't ever felt intimidated by the incredibly dedicated athletes that work out there, quite the opposite, they cheer me in my efforts and have never put me down. Also, my trainer Abbi Cannon is the most stellar human alive. Her programming is challenging and pushes me out of my comfort zone and lets me find out how strong I am really am.
