I’ve always been intrigued by CrossFit after a decade of traditional weightlifting. I was nervous to start this journey since there’s so many new movements to learn. Verdant North coaches are beyond welcoming, encouraging and knowledgeable. They made me feel right at home and helped me get out of my head and believe in myself when I didn’t. Would 10/10 recommend.

I’ve been part of the CrossFit community and have trained at gyms in several different states before, but unfortunately, my experience at this location was not a very positive one. I found the environment here to be far less welcoming than what I’ve come to expect from the CrossFit community. I love the CrossFit community, and it is all about the community!

When I emailed about canceling my membership for the following month, simply trying to give the business enough notice, my Wodify access was immediately deactivated. Next day I couldn't sign up for class. That meant I couldn’t even finish out the month (October) I had already paid for, and there was no prorate or refund.

Additionally, I was disappointed by how my inquiry about a military discount was handled. Most gyms offer this, no big if not, so it was a fair question to inquire about. As a US Navy veteran, I was surprised that the coach automatically assumed I was asking on behalf of a spouse who has NEVER even been to the gym. (women serve too!)

After taking several years off to recover from injuries, I was genuinely excited to be cleared to return to CrossFit. There are other CrossFit gyms in Boise that are much friendlier and more professional.

When I was thinking about starting CrossFit I was really intimidated by the complex movements, and with my age, and risk for injury. They let me attend a class or two for free and then I paid, I think it was, five "start-up" classes where they taught me complex movements and ways to "scale" (make it easier) for movements I couldn't do or wasn't strong enough for. They were incredibly detailed and technical and I felt comfortable signing up. I continually am impressed with the classes and coaches. Again, they are so technical with movements not only making movements stronger but safer. They ask at every class if there are injuries and, when I have one, they change some of the workout to make sure I'm sensitive to that area. Amazing gym and culture!

I travel a lot for work so usually join CrossFits across the United States, I joined Verdant in March I have seen some of the best coaching I’ve ever seen at any CrossFit gym in my 15 years, the level of professionalism and knowledge from all the coaches is next level, every single coach is highly trained. If you are looking to start CrossFit or have been doing CrossFit for years this is the best gym in Boise and possibly one of the best run gyms in the US, I’m very grateful to have had the chance to be a small part of the community, thank you Basile and Cassie for having such great gyms.

Dropped into the 915 CrossFit class today, such a great community. The coach absolutely crushed the class, he had a fantastic warmup, kept the class engaged - effectively coached the clean & jerk so that all fitness levels were improving their technique. I even hit a PR on my C&J!!! Highly recommend to visitors and potential members.

If you are on the fence, try their FREE 3 class trials.
I just did it and my first impression?

-My fellow CrossFit Athletes were amazing! Lots of energy, lots of positivity.
-Out of the 10 or so I've met, 4 of them are beasts and being in the same gym with them is an honor. It brings me back to NCAA Cross Country and Track.
-The exercises were much needed for my Winco Warehouse job. The 4 days after we did the 4 * 3 front squats, my performance on the job averaged from 115% the week before to 120% (my legs were sore, but in a good way).

I just signed up and look forward to training with my new group.

I've gone to this gym 6x a week for the last 9 months. Basile's emphasis on form, safety, and quality movements over ego, RXing, or anything else is one of the many things that makes this gym exceptional.

If you are new to CrossFit or Olympic weightlifting this is where you want to go in the treasure valley to learn how to correctly lift and move your body. Coaches won't feed you BS or tell you the 100th time you have done a movement wrong that it's correct. They will keep kindly correcting you and won't give up on helping you learn a new skill or movement. I have been to other gyms in the area that are not committed to consistently working with all their members on learning movements correctly. The result was unsafe practices and preventable injuries.

Even though this gym has some insanely fit and strong people - I'm talking CrossFit games level fit - Basile does a wonderful job at making the average crossfiters that come here for daily workout feel just as valued and coaches them no differently.

The community here is amazing. There are incredible athletes, fantastic coaches, and a whole lot of good, kind, and caring people. Verdant does a great job planning gym events every two weeks or so to create that community. Gym hikes, game nights, socials, river floats, ect.

This gym is unique because it has an Olympic lifting side of it. It has athletes that compete in Olympic lifting as well as CrossFit. They also have a barbell class that regular old joes like me can attend twice a week. This class has helped me significantly improve my lifting form and gain confidence. They also have a yoga class once a week which Emily does a great job teaching and I enjoy.

In a nutshell this gym is well run, very professional, has exceptional coaching, and wonderful people. If you want to learn to learn excellent form, get in great shape, and make good friends - swallow your ego, listen to the coaches, and show up here consistently.

Great and consistent programming and coaching. Members and staff are welcoming; it’s great that they use Wodify (makes it easy to transfer data from other boxes). I most appreciate that the instructors provide active feedback and know everyone well enough to give specific and actionable coaching. They’re not afraid to give helpful and active feedback, which is what I’m there for. Good range of members, so you’ll be in good company no matter where you’re at in your exercise journey.

Honestly can’t think of a single negative. Parking is slightly more constrained, but they managed to carve out lots of options and spaces, so it works.

I used to go to CrossFit in another state a while back. I never got into it back then. However, I realized after going here that the coaching staff makes a world of difference. Every coach here genuinely cares! They are masters at teaching the lifts and coordinating workouts. Also, the gymgoers are also friendly people. They have social events outside the gym too. I’ve never been to one but it seems like a good way to meet fun, go-getter type people.

I moved to Boise from Minneapolis in June. I had always been a part of fun but competitive and pretty intense CrossFit gyms in Mpls so was looking for something similar when I moved and definitely found that at Verdant. The regular classes are quite high level, but they also have a CrossFit light class that’s such a great idea and provides a comfortable environment if you’re new to CrossFit. I wish I’d had that when I started! They offer dedicated gymnastics and barbell classes as well so you can spend time working weaknesses if you want.
Decent CrossFit coaches manage the clock, explain the movements and make sure no one does anything stupid. Exceptional coaches inspire people to give their best effort and offer cues consistently. They know their clients individually and watch for those moments during workouts when each person starts to hit the wall and will give encouragement at the right times. Lena, Basile and Isaac are in the exceptional category and that’s tough to find. Highly recommend checking Verdant out!

Verdant is quite possibly one of my favorite gyms I have had the pleasure of being a member of. From the coaching and programming, to the sense of community and camaraderie, it is just all around great. If you are looking for a class based workout and want to be pushed as well as learn new movements and improve current movements, Verdant is the place. The coaches are great at scaling anything to adjust to your fitness level and the sense of accomplishment you feel as you begin to see progress keeps you coming back. Although I am not in Boise anymore, I know Verdant taught me a lot because I swear I can still hear Basile and the other coaches correcting my technique even while I am at a new gym. I look forward to visiting every time I am back in Boise!

I joined Verdant CrossFit in the spring of 2018 and have absolutely loved it! I've been to a few different CrossFit gyms in the past and have enjoyed those experiences, but Verdant is the first one I've committed to for an extended time, and I'm here to stay! The Verdant coaches and members feel like family and going to the gym is truly a sanctuary for me. As an ex-professional athlete, now working professional and mom, I needed a place to serve as an outlet, a place to scratch my competitive itch, be an athlete, and be pushed to new limits. Verdant has provided that opportunity for me and I've learned a ton along the way. I recommend this gym, and the owner and coaches that run it, with highest regard!

I've been doing Crossfit since 2013 and have been to a few different Crossfit gym, some better than other but have learned new techniques at each one. I landed at Verdant Crossfit in 2015 and have been with the gym since. It truly is a community with motivating and passionate coaching and supportive members. The coaches are also encouraging, knowledgeable, and supportive and the members will gladly welcome you with open arms. Basile is a master at programming. Whether you've never tried Crossfit before or have been doing it for year, he is able to customize a workout to meet you where you're at and help you achieve your goals. If you don't think Crossfit is for you, Emily is an amazing coach and runs an excellent program called Verdant Fit. If you want to do more Olympic weightlifting, Basile also runs a Barbell Club.
