This is the worst gym I’ve ever trained in. Plates are unorganized and different brands in each power rack. Looks donated. Echo and Airdyne bikes knobs just come off when you adjust them. Bench press racks detach (matrix default). Turf smells from people sweating. People drop weights on turf and creates devets in ground. Safety hazard. The men’s steam smells like mold and is not cleaned and disinfected twice a day which is a standard SOP. Bathrooms smell crazy. Machines haven’t been oiled since WWII. I feel bad for the staff making $8 to $13 an hour. I wouldn’t do my job either for unliveable wages. Save yourself money and a trip. OSHA needs to audit

I signed up for a 3-day in hopes of getting a membership. The Front desk wasn’t welcoming at all, & the gym leaves a dirty, stuffy impression as you walk in . Equipment seemed pretty clean but lots of dust and dirt throughout everything else in the building.

Every time I come here you’ve got a kid cleaning and interrupting not only my workouts but others too as I’ve heard other members talk about it when he’s cleaning. I appreciate the cleaning but do it when the gym isn’t busy or after hours or move to another area so your not interrupting a workout….Not to mention the steam room is being cleaned at random times the days I come. There is a time and place to clean and it’s not while paying members are using equipment and having to stop what they're doing in order to vacuum or mop. I rarely leave reviews but this has happened on multiple occasions. Also as far as cleanliness goes have someone look around the soap dispensers in the men’s showers, they're disgusting and covered in mold and mildew. I’ve waited months to see if someone would notice or clean them and it’s yet to happen.

New ownership yet still just as filthy as before…I wrote this review a year ago and you guys still can’t figure out how to clean properly. The steam room is disgusting.

Been going for years and was hoping that things would improve with Villa buying them out. They haven’t.

The machines are constantly out of order and when they “fix” them they are still broken.

In the video I attached to this review, one cable machine has duct tape on the cable and the other has a mismatched pin with a broken selector. The second machine has been like that for months.

It’s ridiculous.

Oh and the speakers have been broken for about a year now. You can only hear about half of all the songs.

Edit: they fixed the speakers

Edit 2: the cable that looked like it had duct tape on it just snapped on someone.

Cancelled my membership back on the 11th and still billing me for the new month. Called in and asked for an explanation and was asked HOW I cancelled because apparently there is more than one way to cancel and the way I did it is “wrong” and if I wanted to get MY money back I had to do it the “right” way.

Sounds as ridiculous as their policy about not being able to bring someone under the age of 18 with you as your guest but someone under 18 can have their own membership and bring an adult with them. Makes zero sense.

And for those wondering why I cancelled, the facilities aren’t very clean. Same pieces of equipment continue to go down regularly, more than a handful of machines that are pointless and taking up much needed space for stuff that could actually be useful. Small and overcrowded except late in the evening.

i don’t usually leave reviews… and i’m kinda bummed to leave this.

i’ve been with this gym since 2021 or 2022, and the staff used to be so nice, and the quality of the gym was great.

however since villa sport bought the gym, it’s gone downhill heavily.

the staff are rude, i’ve had a few that will
clean the machine that i’m currently using, when you have any questions about anything they seem annoyed to actually have to do their job. i pay for the highest membership but i don’t feel comfortable even using some of the benefits because i feel like im just annoying the staff. its extremely overcrowded, like to the point i have to change the workout im doing because nothing is available. the women’s locker room always smells awful. additionally, cancelling the membership here can be difficult.

i liked this gym, its right by my house but it just isn’t really all that great. especially if im paying $70 a month i want it to be worth it.

I’ve tried canceling my membership while it was still Axiom. Followed thier policy of giving my written 30 day notice in 2023 and they still continued to charge me. The transition between brands and new company has been awful. I finally closed the account they were auto withdrawing from as my own solution. They keep calling with an auto mated system. The communication between the front desk and management is non existent and seems like a wild goose chase to speak to someone to find solutions. There are plenty of other gyms with great equipment, less headache in the valley. Spare yourself.

This gym was always mid—just like most things in this town—but lately, it’s gone from mediocre to downright disgusting. It’s overcrowded, poorly maintained, and constantly dirty. The staff seems to be a rotating door of kids with no idea how to run a gym. And let’s not even get started on the serious allegations involving the childcare facilities (please do your research, it’s disturbing). Thankfully, we’re finally moving far away out of state and won’t have to deal with this place ever again.

The best part about this location is the big windows and the view. There are no 12 lb dumbells they're just always missing. A good amount of equipment is out of order. The cable machines are worn out and often broken in a few places. This location needs to replace MOST of their current equipment and machines.

I’ve been a member here since this club opened in the Village. To say this club has gone downhill is an understatement. And with the change in ownership to this new crew from California, the decline has accelerated.
They tore down the Axiom mission statement. Tore out the bios and pictures of their personal trainers. But they were sure quick to put up new policy signs for cellphones, floor policy, etc. not to mention some funky handwritten signage at the front desk about making sure your “verified” and your badge scans properly. The place has taken on the feel of a white walled soulless dystopia.
As for the equipment- where does one even begin? I’m a treadmill guy. So let’s talk about the original to the club Matrix machines. I typically have to try 3 or 4 machines to find one that works. Typical pattern- first machine- cable channels don’t work. Second machine- emergency stop enabled. Disengage- still won’t work. 3rd machine- belt replaced, but the speed calibration is way off. You get the idea. They bought some cheapo new treadmills with no video displays- just workout visuals- like I want to stare at that for an hour instead of say ESPN.
Then there are the workout machines- also original to the club. Frequently broken. The hip adductor machine has been broken so many times it’s a joke. They should just put yellow “out of order” tape around it as a running joke- like the broken elevator in Big Bang Theory.
A word of advice for those seeking a workout venue- you might think of looking elsewhere. A word of advice for the management team- head out the door, down the stairs, exit the building, and walk 150 yards over to In and Out. I hear they are looking for burger flippers.

To start one of the ONLY reasons I attended axiom was for the childcare. Prices were first raised a pretty large amount for a drop in for a day. After that there has been news regarding the childcare. One that children made it out of the childcare and downstairs and the second is a little graphic and if you look it up you can find what I am discussing. I reached out to the manager that my child will not be attending childcare due to safety and that I was really let down this was 3/20. Again on 3/25 I had to reach out to the manager because I never received a reply. He replied 3/26 and told me I needed to cancel 15 days in advance. I told him I was 5 days off as well as the fact I will not use the gym at all due to safety and I don’t support company’s that doesn’t seem to care about and tries to cover up the wellfare of the children they are watching. Manager told me this is policy and I will pay another month. He sent me a paper to sign that also has a comments section however he said he cancelled my membership for May 1st without a signature, I’m sure to avoid a comment. From my experience management is at an all time low at axiom.

I am pretty disappointed with my overall experience with Axiom. I’ve been to all 4 locations and have regulared the village and meridian. The staff are fine- nothing noteworthy on the positive side, but no real issues. The facilities suck- especially at the village. Soap and paper towel dispensers constantly empty even during slow times of the day. Bathroom always smells gross. No major sense of cleanliness anywhere in the facility. The owners decided to call an audible on kids care hours immediately after I started my membership there, which was a bummer because I switched gyms to axiom specifically for the kids care. They removed the major hours I would utilize kids care but continued to charge the same price. I emailed corporate along w a few other parents to express our disappointment, but none of us received any response. Not even a “sorry for your disappointment.” Crickets.

I kept my membership going and bit the bullet on the adjusted hours and shifted my entire schedule to accomodate lift hours. Then fast forward to what I believe was less than a year later- Axiom rebranded to villa fitness, and along with that rebranding- increasing the costs of kids care by 60% under my already VIP membership. I understand adjustments for inflation, but I don’t see a 60% increase justified- especially when you don’t even send out any form of a notice to parents? I had to find out from an employee who didnt even know that there was an effective change and THEY WORKED THERE.

Ultimately, the money isn’t the main issue here. It’s the lack of accountability and communication that has led to poorly maintained facilities, and an apparent disregard for their members. It blows my mind that trainers can call me routinely to try extrapolate some more $$ through booking training sessions, however; I can’t get an email back or a letter in the mail to talk about pricing updates.

I’ve made the decision to switch gyms, and after this experience with my second go around at axiom/villa sports, I don’t think I’ll ever be back. Not even if your locker rooms stop smelling like a moldy sponge 🫠

UPDATE: The general manager from the Village location called and apologized for my experience within a business day of my review- which actually means a lot. Unfortunately, I have already committed to another gym that works better for my kids and our schedule. I would consider switching back in the future if management got a chokehold on the few challenges expressed- especially when it comes to kids care. As a single dad of two- that was really the dealbreaker for me.

Above average gym, bathrooms aren’t the cleanest sometimes. Personally the worst part is it’s always warm inside the gym. Seems like they don’t want to spend the extra money to keep the place at a good temperature. Other than that, it has good equipment for upper body days & a good location

I went with axiom because they had a daycare. However, every time that I went to the gym and tried to use the daycare for my son, there was only one employee on shift working in the daycare and it was anywhere between a 1 to 3-hour wait to put my son in the daycare. I set aside 2 hours a day to work out. I do not have 1 to 3 hours to wait for the daycare to have availability and then work out for 2 hours. I have tried to cancel my membership multiple times but axia makes it nearly impossible to cancel. I went to my bank and authorize them to stop payments from being taken by axiom. However, they are still trying to charge me and threatening to send my past due payments to collections. Although I have not used their establishment in months. My advice is to take your business somewhere else. If and when you decide to go to a different gym, they will continue to charge you for as long as they possibly can until sending your late payments to collections and attempting to ruin your credit. This is a terrible and unethical way to run a business. They know it and they still do it. They don't care about their members obviously as I have been a member since 2014. My son was born in 2023 and once I realized that the daycare was not going to suit my needs, it was time to go elsewhere. However, they refuse to let me cancel my membership.

Damn in the last few months, they have really hired some outstanding maintenance people at this location. Everything is cleaner than any Axiom I have been to in the Treasure Valley. This is by far my favorite gym as the staff is fairly nice and all seem to be a good team. I love the hydro massage. I just wish it lasted 20 to 30 mins ( can we request this). I love there is now toilet paper available. I wish they still had towels available, but Im sure that was a pain as people probably stole them, etc. All in all its the best in my opinion with other locations rated #2.Park center (to many kagged followers but good) #3.Meridian great (just cruddy cardio equipment and not enough dumbells)and #4 Fareview coming in last cause of size for me ( thats what she said)

Now, with the negative.... it still has your crazy different people like the yeller while lifting, instagram filmers, broccli heads in groups, lil guys flexin in the mirrors everywhere as well as girls doing the booty flexes ( look but dont lookers), steroid guys, crossfit guys, loud powerlifter guys, ego lifters, creepers, cardio junkies, endless stairwalkers, newbs (deadlifting 135 and dropping it like they are on TV), dont pick up weights after their done‐ers, stuck uppers, mean muggers (which I hate), stinkers, couples that need attentioners, old naked guys in the locker roomers, texters, chatting on bluetoothers (super loud take it outside please), dancers, players, and think they are players, and scum of the earthers, shawdow boxers, guys dropping weights instead of nicely finishing their lift by completing it instead of ego dropping. Thanks, that is all. Have a nice day.

Great gym with a lot of equipment. The cardio area has a nice view of The Village. They have an area for more bodybuilding style training and another turf area for CrossFit style training. In the mornings and evenings, the gym can get pretty packed. They also have a daycare for your kids while you workout for an additional charge.

I really like working out at Axiom Fitness at The Village. Their facilities and equipment are awesome. However, I’ve had a disappointing experience regarding a contest I entered. I was excited to win but despite multiple attempts to claim my prize since August 3rd, I have still not received it. I've emailed Sarah Winters and gone up to the desk three separate times to try and claim my prize. Each time, I left my phone number and email but I still haven’t heard back. While I love the gym and its community, I want to caution others about participating in contests if the prize isn't guaranteed. I hope Axiom Fitness can improve its communication and follow-through in this area.

They will lie to you for your money. From the general manager to the front desk I delt with employees who would either by stupidity or dishonesty tell me false information that had an impact on my credit score. In my final confrontation with the general manager, I asked him why would you tell me "this and that"? And his response repeatedly was "Well I could have known that" when the items I was asking were within his capacity by his position. Zero capability or honesty. Would not recommend this business.

Edit: I see the response from axiom, you guys weren't willing to resolve this issue when it would have been useful or professional. You wasted my time, lied to me to get money for services you never rendered, I am not about to volunteer a single second for your business.

Update: We had a terrible experience with the front desk, however, after speaking with the GM, Tyler, I do believe the necessary steps are going to be taken to educate and improve the quality of service provided by the employee I had an issue with. {We had an interesting experience at this location earlier today. The lady behind the counter, Annika was her name, was extremely rude and left a horrible taste in my mouth. Not only did she rudely inform me that I would have to pay for childcare (which I pay for monthly), she also told me to get my children (whom were only walking a few feet in front of me). She lacks professionalism and politeness and it has me thinking we might cancel our axiom memberships and find a more family friendly gym}

I know gyms try to make it impossible to cancel membership but this is a joke. Employee says they are the manager but can't cancel membership it has to done on the app. Pull up the app and request to cancel, says I can't. Employee/manager says don't know try online.

I would strongly advise reading the fine print of any agreements you sign with Axiom.

I paid over $500 per month for a personal trainer and even extended my trainer for an additional couple of months beyond my original termination date after which I cancelled in person and face to face with the staff member who handles trainer accounts, communicating an cancellation as of the end of December 2023.

Come January 2024 I see another $500+ on my credit card. Assuming this was simply a clerical error, I left a voicemail (they never answer their phones or return calls!) and sent an email confirming that I had already cancelled as of the end of December only to be told that cancellations actually must be in writing and require 30 days notice.

Of course when I was face to face nothing of that was mentioned. It's hard not to believe that wasn't intentional. Highly unprofessional.

So now I have to pay an additional $1,000+ for training sessions that I no longer need or want because my original cancellation was not in writing and my subsequent cancellation, although in writing, did not occur until after January 1 and 30 days notice is required.

To start, signing up for a memebership was about as pleasant as it could have been. Adele was AMAZING when it came to being super friendly, knowledgeable, and streamlining the process as much as she could to get me what I needed out of my membership and time there. She was easy to connect with and talk about goals and expectations. The facility itself has great option such as free classes like barre and cycling. I love that there is a steam room and nice showers (no curtains! - actual doors on the showers! lol) and the fact that they offer a kids club (I have a 4 year old and 1 year old twins) for for me to utilize up to 2 hours a day is what makes me able to start going to the gym again! I’m very excited to have a membership here and will be utilizing all facilities as much as possible!

I'm actually super new to fitness and gym membership and always expected that, if I ever did get a gym membership it would most certainly not be at the Village. But...here I am eating my words as I sweat it out next to the fountains and the shops.

It's actually a convenient location, parking is pretty easy, and the people are all so sweet. It's a great place for a class or a workout on your own or with a friend.

Update: Stilll enjoying Axiom! It's a great place to take a class, lift weights, and get in a good sweat.

Really enjoying this gym so far. The environment and staff is very welcoming. It's a huge amount of space to workout and enjoy. The gym has something for everyone! Big shout to Adelle for introducing and showing my wife and I around. If you're looking to get signed up make sure to ask for Adelle, was was professional and understanding of our needs.

I used to go to this gym and thought it was great. Their hours ever since COVID have made it so I've had to cancel my membership. If they went back to 24 hours (or at least an earlier opening time) I would return.

Love the gym but the blonde manager girl has made the checkin process impossible. It was legit over 5 mins to walk into the gym. This is something I do every day and is just scanning my phone. Her customer service is truly awful. UPDATE: The business claims this was about not having an ID or something. That is NOT what this was about. This was about the employee being verbally aggressive and incredibly rude.

MASSIVE COMPLAINT!!! (The Village location) I went to the gym today only to find out no less than six of the treadmills were not working. This inconvenienced a lot of people. I even saw one woman so upset by this she became frustrated! For all the money we middle class people pay for membership the owners could do at the minimum BUY EXUIPMENT THAT WORKS AND MANTAIN EQUIPMENT! The next step is we middle class take our money elsewhere.

Also, I did see one cockroach in the men's locker-room last week.

Great experience going there everyone there is super friendly and helpful. Some gripes though include the fact that the Saunas at this location are almost always out of order or dirty, says something about the patrons more than the business but they should still be cleaned more regularly. Allot of the machines are constantly breaking or are under maintenance. but they get taken care of relatively quickly. Biggest takeaway is that the gym is good but needs to practice better maintenance.

I'm very disappointed. With every high-schooler and young adult on the block thinking they are a fitness "influencer" or filming themselves, it makes for a very annoying experience. The other day I went to workout and some young teen was having his buddy film himself. Not did I not want to be on camera, but the tripod was also in the way. The ridiculous part was the kid would fix his hair in the mirror, do a couple reps to get it on camera, and do the same with another exercise. I'm disappointed axiom allows cameras. Additionally. They allow waaaaay to many members. It's very crowded. I plan to cancel my membership.

I have already filed a complaint. My experience here has been less than poor.
I paid for personal training and canceled a month later. I double checked with both Jeff and Tyler (managers) that I would NOT be charged again. BOTH reassured me that I would NOT be even pulling my account up and looking at it in front of me WITH my personal trailer, Sara standing there. They refused to reverse the charge or give me any of the money back. I will not be returning, and will be promoting against them for both companies I own and work for.

Treadmills don’t work properly. You can set the speed and it’ll only do 2/3 the speed cause they are so worn and not maintained. Aside from broken cardio machines, waiting to do any workout cause the gym is too packed, and the dirty environment. Would not recommend.

make sure to read all the fine print about payments when signing up - it’s a pain to cancel, and because I cancelled 13 days instead of 15 behind the billing period I had to pay an extra $85 for a membership I won’t be able to use. I’m just super bummed about the lack of effort/empathy trying to get a refund for a pass I can’t use because apparently I missed the deadline by two days. Bummer!

Pros:
-Nice equipment
-Staff keeps the gym pretty clean
-Nice locker room facilities.

Cons:
-Way too many people at any given time (seriously, it's packed at 5 am)
-Staff doesn't enforce anything (people putting weights on benches and not using them otherwise when the gym is full. People throw weights around/on the ground to look cool. Some people wear flip flops. I also just saw what looked like a 12 year old with his mom in the free weight area)
-No monthly smoothie bar pass
-Only one person per account can have a key pass, otherwise you get 1-2 guests a day, so you have to have 2 memberships if your S/O wants to workout at a different time than you.

Overall, this gym is okay or a little below average. You can't get a good workout in when it's always packed or all the equipment is taken by super-setters using 5 different sets of weights and take 5 minute breaks in between sets.

Their customer service is the worst. Their contract is the worst. Cancellation is required in writing. No notification was given that my account was still active and they sent me to collections! That's how I found out my account was still active! No response from their management when I called. And the only way to get this out of collections is to PAY IT! I will never go to an Axiom again. Had to move to a different gym. Simply too busy. Which is good for axiom. But, if you're trying to superset... forget it.

I'd leave my water bottle and phone at a machine, come back and someone was on it. (And they wouldn't move lol) We could share? You see my stuff there lol.

Anyway. It happened multiple times. Couldn't ever get the workout I wanted in.

Tried all different times of day. If you don't mind a super busy gym and a difficult time getting equipment... then you'll like it.

BEWARE!! I turned my access card in and canceled my account 16 months ago, they continued to bill my credit card for a few months and after repeated calls the billing stopped. HOWEVER today I get a notice that I owe them for OVER A YEAR!! It's total scam and I am afraid I will have to involve an an attorney

Seriously? Prove I canceled a membership or I have to pay you blackmail money? How about the fact that the membership was never used? Or that my CC company blocked you from billing and called it fraudulent? Or Maybe YOU search YOUR emails for proof? Claims that you attempted to call are false since none of your locations numbers are in my cell phone records. Sending someone to collections for a service you never provided is not just wrong, it ought to be illegal.
