All Aira locations constantly put out ads for “free year passes” and other such things, but never deliver on those. When you go to said location to get your “free” pass, they try to get you to sign up for a membership with some ridiculously high price instead. They don’t even mention the free pass. Also, some ads use AI generated slop that looks terrible. So you’re getting all this money from extraordinarily high membership fees, yet you can’t afford an ad made by real people? What a joke.

I Put in for the golf sum on online they text me almost everyday to.book even after I booked. So I booked a double time frame got a confirmation in the app. The day the booking come it is gone and if I tried to rebook it asked for money. I reached out the the rep that was texting me an hour before out spot and told them what happened. They said no problem I will book and send you the confirmation. So I wait and wait I message them 20 min then 10 min before the time. They said it was set and they will resend the confirmation. Nothing we get to the place still nothing. I text them again oh hang on I will get u in and set. After waiting there for 10.mins and hearing some in the sum already we called it quits. This was a horrible experience, we where really looking forward to a winter solution for golfing.

I absolutely love the pod at Aira Gym Fox Lake right in front of the lake. The view is amazing and gives such a peaceful vibe while working out. The privacy is a huge plus! No waiting around for weights or feeling rushed. It feels like having your own personal gym, but with a better view. Perfect for focusing on your workout without distractions. Been going here for about a week now and it’s been great so far. towels are always available and clean. The gym floor is clean with new equipment. bathrooms are good no weird stains or smells(besides the usual smells) lockers are nice and big. monthly pricing is a lil up there but so worth it if you’re looking for a clean and low traffic gym to workout in. i will keep going here for a while.

I came here with my boyfriend to check out the gym and it was like no other. It wasn’t crowded, not too loud, and everyone was very nice, and even greeted us at our arrival. I’ve never been to ANY gym with this type of aura. As soon as we walked in, I could tell that this gym is for us. One of the members walked in, smiled and held the door. Everyone is very friendly. A very mature vibe and I love this because I’m not worried about my anxiety while working out. I love the idea of coming to exercise and not feeling worried about anything or anyone staring and judging. I love that Aira fitness feels like a family/ friend oriented gym!

The amount of different variations to the pull-up and core muscle groups is really a complete step up to anything around.

Was with Aira Fitness for over a year. Can you go there and get a good workout yes will it be in a clean environment that is maintained well no. Very steep monthly charges compared to their competitors. Lack of cleaning and maintaining their equipment. If the sauna is working you will have to watch out for the flooring that is not secured to the tile flooring at all. Locker rooms are not clean and urinals usually smell very bad in the males locker rooms. I do not believe this gym offers anything better then their competitors that are half the price! This could be an awesome facility if the owners maintained their equipment and had cleaners in there. All the new equipment is very nice that they have finally gotten and struggle to put together but not enough to keep me coming back. Would not recommend this gym to a friend / family member. Absolutely not worth the very steep charge of $60 a month I was being charged.

I have lived next door for 3 years and drive by the place everyday to get to work and today I made the decision to finally stop in to sign my boyfriend and I up. When I walked in I was greeted and toured around by Mike who just sold me with how clean and awesome the place was and I do have to brag that I love that it wasn’t crowded at all like LA Fitness, Xsport or all the other gyms where you got to wait for a machine or even a treadmill it was so quiet and peaceful I LOVED LOVED IT keep in mind I went around after work hours…not only was he super helpful, he sat down with me to help me be able to afford my budget!! I am so looking forward to working out here but I also CANT wait for the remolded to be done and I also can’t wait for my boyfriend to see his new gym… HES GOING TO LOVE IT!!

Went in to try and cancel membership, no one is available, I try calling no one answers, I try texting no response, I try to email and get directed to schedule an appointment. The only reason I joined this gym was the location. The only reason I put up with the lack of service this gym offered was because of the location. After nearly a year I had enough. Price wasn't the issue, I was already paying the increased fee. The issue was the cleanliness of the gym, the lack of towels out front or in the locker room. The restrooms/locker rooms were dirty and gross.

The gym itself did the job for the most part but the only cleaning it ever seemed to get was from the users who wipe down equipment after use. Other than that, anything not cleaned by a user just looked dirty.

I always brought my own water because the fountains always seemed to need a new filter (were they ever replaced?) and tasted weird the few times I did use them.

After finally saying the location was no longer worth it, I had to email and request someone actually be there so I could cancel my membership. I did get a quick response and no push back nor was I charged beyond what I paid for so, based on other reviews, I'll give them that.

Did find out that of all the gyms I looked at after quitting Aira, they're the only ones locally that charge an exorbitant sign up fee. Yes others do, but it's either equal or less than a months membership rate.

This gym is in desperate need of a new owner, one who cares about the actual user experience and provides a clean environment to work out.

The club is worn down and has seen better days. The corporate ownership just kicked out the franchise owners, around June or may. That was the explanation given to me.

The most expensive initial upfront fee and the highest monthly fees of any gym in the area. Like shockingly high prices for the condition of the gym itself and the gym equipment.

Hopefully if corporate decides to keep it open, and not close it, they will invest in the place and bring it up to the justification for the price.

Just started a 7 day trial.

Face value, $60 a month and after fees would be $250 to sign up.

My only interest in this gym is the location, would be perfect for me so I want it to work. For reference my primary gym has been xsport since 2016.

This gym is crusty. I don't mind that, but I pay $10 a month at xsport for a better gym experience and less crust.

Men's locker room is a joke, it's carpeted around the lockers. Lockers that don't actually lock in any functional capacity. Every single garbage can is full, it's a Tuesday morning currently. Every single dirty towel bin is full and there are no clean towels. 6/20/23). The sauna is filthy, and at best a cheap handyman install.

Edited but MUST READ: Although I cancelled my membership, they are STILL CHARGING ME 60$ A MONTH! I’ve heard many people having the same problem with these scammers, but I will not put up with this, and I suggest you do the same, please read for further explanation on why I cancelled.

Old management has retaken over and is now forcing everyone (regardless if your previous rate was grandfathered in) to pay 60$ monthly for access to their gyms (was previously paying 35). When I asked why they’re forcing everyone’s rates they said it’s cause they can’t afford to pay the rent with their current plans. Quite honestly I you could find 10 other gyms with better equipment, and they obviously will not be upgrading any of them considering they can’t even pay to keep the lights on. Additionally when I asked if I could be refunded and just flat out cancel my entire membership, they said refunds are impossible. Only convenience is that it’s open 24 hours, absolute L of a gym.

Post Aira Team Response- No amount of inflation = a 50% price increase, and if you wanted to keep up with amenities, you should try retaining customers, not losing them, business 101. Also new paint on the walls, a newer but still broken sauna, and a new stair master is what we’ve all been paying for this past year? Will be trying Ryze as I heard they actually care about putting the $ they make back into new equipment at a way faster pace even though they’re half the price without a ridiculous sign up fee.

My husband and I were members for 3 years. Recently received an email stating our monthly membership will be doubled.
I don’t mind paying more but PLEASE show me where that money is going. Equipment is so old and rusty it’s embarrassing. Cardio machines have an IPOD access . iPods have been obsolete for at least 15 years. Don’t even get me started on the rusty toilets and water that smells like sulphur. I switched to renegade in wauconda, it’s a drive but the facility is super nice.

Joined this gym for about 3 weeks. Talked to someone about joining they gave me a “deal” to sign up and once after 2-3 weeks went by they sent an email about upping the price. I had a $125 sign up fee which covered first, last month and the key card. They originally quoted me $59 a month but I argued and they said $50 a month if I only use the Fox Lake location so I said alright that works. Then 3 weeks go by after signing up and going 5-6 days a week they send an email and say we are upping the price to $59 a month. It’s not about the $9 to me, it’s about the principle that they gave me a deal then weaselled their way out of it. Bad business etiquette. Water taste horrible there, sauna barley ever works. After relentless texts and FB messages for "winning" a free membership, I began personal training sessions that were continually cancelled & rescheduled. The gym in FOX LAKE was always FILTHY . My personal Trainer was fired by the manager last June & I had no interest in using the remainder of my "FREE" membership because several locations are just dirty & staff are NEVER on site . SIX months after the "Free " member ship ended this business pushed through a $1000.00 charge on a credit card that was removed from my file. I reported the fraudulent use to my bank. After the new management took over, this establishment has gone downhill fast.
For one, they upped the price of membership. They lack communication and didn’t give heads up when the closed the gym for a weekend due to “remodeling.”
They decreased the amount of cardio machines to add more fake turf, even though they have a designated room with fake turf. Also they lack the maintenance. The sauna is and has been broken for about a month. No ETA when it will be fixed. Not to mention the lockers they have you used is only locked and unlock with their makeshift cards that they don’t have enough of.
Extremely disappointed with what happened to this gym and wouldn’t recommend.

Also if you want to bring a friend, they have to live in IL, according to the new owner.

I have been a member of this gym for about a year, I like the fact that it’s 24/7, unfortunately equipment is getting old and not updated, this location got out of hand, dirty, dust bunnies everywhere, no staff available to attend to any questions or concerns or canceling my membership, I leave voicemails and no answer! I should be able to cancel and can’t get it done! So upsetting and frustrating!

I like the gym BUT, there are many improvements that can be made. Improvements like more cleaning and dusting of equipment and floors more regularly, repairs/maintenance on equipment and benches, and replacement of turf in rec room. I'm satisfied with the amount and types of equipment available present, giving me the ability to complete most types of lifts and exercises I need. I do think that some equipment could use a replacement or maintenance like the incline/decline bench which is missing its handle to adjust the angle of incline. Old/out of date signage still up and, sauna is still closed. Good gym despite the some flaws.

Not only is this gym dirty and smells, no one is ever around to address any questions or concerns. Several times I witnessed a lady bringing her kids to group classes because the day care didn’t open on time. Ultimately, I decided to drive a little further to a gym with a more recognized name. So much happier with the service and the variety of classes.

I was excited to learn I won a months free membership from one of their Facebook giveaways. However, when contacted by their staff, they cancelled and rescheduled my first appointment to pick up the key fob and completely stood me up on the second appointment with none of my calls or texts to them being answered. Very unprofessional behavior.

I’ve been here approximately 2 months. I personally work out at home and at my work. Occasionally, I attend group classes at local gyms in the area to switch things up. I came to this gym due to its location to my home and trainers being amazing, that is why I gave it 2 stars. I continue to use this gym until something better comes along or the trainers leave to go somewhere else. If you don’t attend classes and if it’s locations are not convenient to you then I do not recommend this gym.

Due to these reasons

Dirty and lacks maintenance to facility and equipment
Most likely mold in the group training section of gym
No salt on ground for customers walking into the gym (Today)
I don’t care if I fall but not acceptable for other generation of life to fall and receive serious injuries due to mismanagement.
This gym is not transparent with memberships, prices ranging from 40-220 dollars a month from what other members said they pay. I personally pay 80 and feel it’s over priced for this membership.
Tons of gossip at this gym but one of the worst I’ve heard is that some trainers are not being paid for months now. I hope that is not true or changes quickly.

Equipment is not maintained well. To name a few issues: frayed cables are never replaced, pads are falling apart, and machine rails aren't well lubricated causing movements to feel grainy. Comments in suggestion box are never addressed. Central heating and cooling system is poor and rarely does it feel comfortable in the gym. Signs are posted everywhere for guests to re-rack their weights, but the gym won't upkeep with simple maintenance.

Love the Bootcamp classes, they have so many machines to choose from, and the trainers are absolutely amazing. I love Amber as my personal trainer, and Lizzie and Inger totally test your limits in bootcamp classes. No matter your age, shape, size, fitness need, you modify in classes to suit your needs and abilities with no judgment by anyone! Don't want to improve my health at any other facility... and I've tried 2 other local places... not naming names.

This gym is amazing! I switched to here from Planet Fitness and I have no regrets. The machines are extremely high tech (and quiet treadmills... yay!) The studio is amazing and there are just so many resources to help get you in shape! The trainers are super helpful and positive. Overall the vibe here is great. I highly recommend

From the second I walked into Aria fitness I felt like I was being catered to, my walk through was very thorough and quick, giving me time to workout after a long day. The gym is clean and has tons of equipment that I look forward to using!

Since taking over from Epic Fitness , we have had multiple issues with miscellaneous charges being deducted at random. Multiple phone calls & in person conversations do not solve the issue, as it continues to happen. There was never a new contract or authorization to deduct between us & Aira. The final straw was double months being deducted in a 20 day period. Our expectation was to pay a gym membership, not finance mismanagement of a business. Membership will be cancelled effective immediately.

I have been training at Epic fitness for over one year. I originally came because I broke my foot and was on a scooter. I really needed help to stay fit safely. They truly helped me heal. Epic fitness is extremely professional and the trainers are very qualified. I always feel comfortable and get a great workout. Well worth the $. They also have a friendly approach “like you are family “. I highly recommend Epic Fitness.

They boast a daycare, which I thought would be a huge selling point for me. Every time my kid has been there though, they seem afraid to clean his diaper. So he just sat in poop until I got back to him. Another time he ate an entire crayon, I walked in when the attendant was frantically scrubbing the inside of his mouth out with a baby wipe and gagging him. I made her stop, and said the package says it's non-toxic so there is no sense in jamming your fingers in his mouth. They just take whatever employee pulls the short straw to watch your kid it seems like, I can't believe they are a "certified" daycare. So I've made other arrangements for my kid when I go to the gym, and wouldn't even consider this a valid feature unless your kid is 4 or older and can pretty much watch themselves.

They also can't seem to get my account straightened after I paid to replace a lost membership card. The staff all recognizes me and manually checks me in when I pull in the lot though. So the friendly staff and environment make up for whatever else may be lacking.

AMAZING facility and staff. The owners are always searching for new and unique equipment to better the workout experience for each and every member. The gym is cleaned multiple times daily and classes each have an amazing instructor that know how to modify workouts to you're level and goals. (Classes are free!) Definitley a one of a kind gym with owners who care. Showers and saunas with towels provided also. 👍🏼👍🏼

I checked in my toddler Son and halfway through my workout, a team member comes to tell me they just let my Son leave with his Mother who is unstable and not allowed unsupervised visitation. Turns out she was completely intoxicated and drove him away with no.car seat. Luckily I was able to get my Son back safely but 2 days later.

The owner told me it is policy to allow anyone they view as the parent to check out kids whether or not they are a member or were the person to check them in. They refuse to revise this rule to make kids safer and said "so go to a different gym" this place is a terrible place for kids.
