Chuck is the coaching master! He takes time before class starts to explain the workout and to demo the lifts. He is always looking out for you and is available for any questions. This is my first experience with group lifting classes and I never feel silly asking questions and always feel supported.

Chuck was helpful and encouraging. He does a great job relating the lifting work to running and aspects of every day life.

Chuck is the best strength coach in the biz! Takes time to coach technique. explain the science behind it, push towards goals, and modify when nursing an injury. His classes keep me motivated and engaged.

Class was great as usual. My shoulder is bothering me, and Chuck always makes amazing recommendations to help me get the best out of my workout, while identifying which movements are causing pain, modify those specific movements and focus on controlled, pain-free ranges of motion. Big Bear Barbell Gym is by far the best community gym around! I joined a little under two years ago with very minimal knowledge of strength training. Thanks to the knowledgeable coaching staff, the incredible community that is Big Bear, and personal training with Chuck, I can confidently say I’m the strongest I’ve ever been—and I’m still learning more every day!

This gym is definitely the best in the South Suburbs!! All new equipment, wonderful coaches and the best ownership. I have consistently been attending this gym since it has opened and it is always clean and I have actually noticed results from coming here. Let’s not forget to mention the pricing is super reasonable for unlimited classes! Always good vibes here, feels like home! Can’t wait for this gym to expand to other locations. I love Big Bear! ❤️🐻

Great place. Great people. Super clean every session. The programming is top notch, and coaches all know what they’re talking about. Great for beginners to advanced lifters.
All that said, I’m still not sure what they did to me this morning. I won’t walk right for a week.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. It’s perfect fore new gym goers and experienced lifters alike. The classes make it easy to get a great workout in when you aren’t sure what to do or just want an extra community while working out. The gym has all the equipment you would ever need for the open gym and the coaches are all awesome and knowledgeable. They have a great thing going on here.

Big Bear is my new favored gym in Frankfort! I joined this summer with some neighborhood friends and have never left disappointed with a workout!
