I’m in Illinois for the holidays and the hotel I’m at is close to Body Tech. Instead of paying a daily use fee, Body Tech offered me a seven day deal for 25.00 and access to everything they offered. The customer service is friendly and knowledgeable. They have so much to offer from Hydro massage bed, sauna, healthy smoothies, running track and more. Strongly recommend Body Tech.

My husband and I have been coming to Bodytech for a few years now and this is my 1st time doing a review. Bodytech is an amazing gym, and the members here take their workouts seriously. The classes that they offer are great and so are the instructors. The reason why I'm doing this review, Bodytech is always clean, from the areas we use to work out to the ladies' washroom. My husband and I would sometimes go to another gym that will remain nameless if Bodytech is closed. This nameless gym is going down, it smells when you walk in, the ceiling is leaking, and the women's washroom is very untidy. This made me appreciate Bodytech and the staff. They take care of and appreciate their members. Thank you.

I love THIS gym. High-quality customer service is a rare thing to find these days. Carina, Michelle, Dave (on random weekends), and Lisa are all terribly helpful and always go above and beyond what's expected of them. I know that I will be greeted, by name, by whomever is working at the front desk and they will know that drink I am going to purchase. The gym recently renovated the locker rooms and have been adding new equipment on a regular basis. If you want to work out in an environment without distraction or having to wait 30 minutes to use a machine- this is your gym.

This is a very good gym to get your necessary workouts done. They have a big selection of workout equipment and a lot of cardio machines as well. Gym is pretty clean and the staff is friendly. Only reason why I didn't post 5 stars is a personal reason of mine and that is I feel like sometimes the equipment is too crammed in together leaving a little bit of space between machines/workout equipment. I have not been here when it's peak customer hours, only go very early in the morning when there's hardly any people. You will definitely get a great workout done here.

I’ve been going here for about 12 years, but I refuse to return. Management recently changed within the last year and I was treated terribly today when I attempted to freeze my account.

I called on October 7th regarding when and how I could freeze and/or cancel and was never notified there was a “15 day window” to do so. This information was never given to me.

Regardless, the manager pushed to charge another fee for November, argued with me and essentially called me a liar when I explained the phone call to her.

This is abhorrent customer service and the behavior she exhibited was juvenile for someone who is supposed to take charge and garner business. I was so upset by her rhetoric, I asked for the owner’s information. She didn’t give it to me.

Rather than freezing, I’ll be going back in to permanently cancel. I’m looking into MPG Fitness. Loved my community at Body Tech, but I refuse to be treated in this manner. It was uncalled for. I’ve also notified everyone else who goes there to watch out for these shady practices.

Great gym, not crowded in the times I'm using.
The equipment is older, which is not necessarily a bad thing, because some of the high-tech gyms out there are all the same to each other.

Even though it's not the cheapest gym, I love Body Tech.
However, that being said, I think if they invest in minimum maintenance (reupholster some ripped parts that look really bad and grease all the machines) this would be a 5 star gym.
It's not that difficult nor expensive, but would boost the experience for everyone!

This is a true muscle heads gym. Been coming here on and off since 5-star fitness took over about decade ago. It is a gym filled with actual weightlifters that do not mind if you ask for tips/pointers if you need it. Thankfully there isn’t a lot of the “influencer” crowd so no need to worry about people taking too long at a station. I’ve tested going to other gyms but there’s no place like body tech.

Love this gym. it’s never crowded and the vibe is great. I’ve been a member on and off over ten years. It’s a real gym for real gym people. People say equipment is “dated”. I say the equipment is effective. They also have made plenty of upgrades with keeping important equipment available. Relatively new paint and as clean/dirty as a gym gets. If you want a workout I suggest BODY TECH.

This is a great gym, ive been a member here since 2010. My only complaints are that the machines are way too close to each other and cramped up in the weight room where all the dumbbells are. I also wish there was more natural sunlight shining into the gym as it can get kind of gloomy.

I’ve been a member at Body Tech for many years. I started working out at the Mokena location but have also worked out at the Joliet location. They have a variety of exercise equipment and I enjoy walking their track. I also like the tanning services they have available and their smoothie bar. They have so many different flavors to try! I would highly recommend Body Tech to anyone who is looking for a gym that offers challenging group fitness classes and allows you to work out on your own too.

I was a member of this gym when it was Five Star. I was a member of Bodytech Mokena for a decade. So when I learned they purchased the gym I was currently a member at, I was thrilled. The equipment have been updated as needed as well as more operational than with previous ownership. I strongly recommend everyone to try the Smoothie Bar at least once, you won’t be disappointed.

The staff is great here! People complain about the equipment but it’s old school. You won’t find these machines at other gyms. They also have a new updated area as well which is nice. I love this gym just sometimes there are groups that command the whole space and it’s like they own the place. Get here early to avoid the doosh bags and it’s easily the best gym in the area. Staff is nice, track is nice to have instead of walking on a treadmill. Lots of machines that target the whole body. Pros: open concept with tall roof, opens early (4am) for a non 24 hour gym. Lots of machines for the same exercise, wide variety of equipment, friendly staff, sauna.
Cons: Not open 24hrs and closes early on weekends, no one seems to rerack their weights or wipe down machines/benches. Never see staff putting weights back. Locker room is outdated.

It's no longer Five Star Fitness... It has been bought over by a different company. The front desk guy was absolutely amazing but the equipment was a bit dated. While everything was very clean and organized, the equipment needs replacement.

The dumbbells are loose, the metal is rusted, and the track is uneven but all the equipment is custom welded which makes them priceless to any hardcore gym rats.

This is one of the best gyms in the area, does not have the standard commercial gym feel to it at all!
Very old school feel, which is very rare nowadays. What I love most is that it has something for everyone.
Several NPC and IFBB pro bodybuilders are here, as well as people who are fairly new to working out. The bodybuilders here don't have an ego like most gyms. If anything they would try to give you some tips on how to get the most out of the exercise you're doing, rather than judge you.

I have been a member off and on for years, my wife has been a member for several years. A new owner recently took over and the changes he is making are not being well received by the members.

At renewal members are seeing their fifteen month memberships reduced to twelve and the membership fee increasing from 240/yr to 320.00. Members are losing three months AND paying an additional eighty dollars.

Today I learned he is now charging for daycare. The daycare was a big draw for people for obvious reasons.

So decreased membership length, increased membership rate and daycare fees. Looking around the area there are other gyms that offer similar amenities for much less.

While my wife and I do enjoy the friendships we have made at the gym we will be looking for another gym come renewal time. The previous owner understood what it took to draw people to the gym and retain them but in my opinion the current owner has not figured this out.

This place has literally been "Five Star Fitness" for my wife and I.
