She makes the studio so warm & welcoming and made the class incredibly doable for a beginner, even providing suggestions on how to take the workout up a notch without overexerting yourself. I really enjoyed my first time at Pilates! Made me feel welcomed and that was very important being a plus size woman trying Pilates for the first time. Everything was explained in detailed and I was able to follow along. Staff was great, socks I bought were adorable and I love that they had hygiene products in the bathroom so o use just in case.

I was new to BodyBar and Katie did a great job of explaining the flow of the class and how to work the reformer. I took the Classic class and thought it was paced super well with a good mix of challenging exercises, and small stretch breaks. I’ll definitely be back.

I do traditional strength training 3x a week, and use the BodyBar Classic Class as an active recovery, "stretchy strength" compliment to my other workouts. I've been coming about 2x a week for over a year now, and have brought at half a dozen people to the studio with me. I love that you can make the class as challenging as you'd like that day with options like adding resistance or slowing down your moves. As someone who greatly feels the effects of her menstrual cycle, it's great to be able to tailor my workout to how I'm feeling that day. These classes are my time to slow my mind and really focus on a mind-body connection, which helps with other workouts I do. The staff is friendly, I can usually book the slots I want, and the classes are all great and start on time. All the instructors I've taken classes have great flows and energies. Of all the studios I've tried pilates at, this is my favorite and the one I'm sticking to! They also have fun things like collaborations with other small businesses, themed classes, and free classes in the park. Great business!

Today, I was invited to an influencer event for a Pilates class. Everyone had their own reformer except me. They tossed me on the floor to do exercises meant for a reformer, while the staff didn’t even know I was invited. I basically wasted my time. A total lack of respect towards me and the Latina community. I’m never wasting another minute on a place that doesn’t know how to treat its guests. 🙂

Visiting from out of town & wanted some fitness classes to attend while away from my home gym. Booked one free class and purchased a total of 4 extra Classic classes which I've completed. I typically do heavy lifting, but & I loved that these classes challenged my body in a different way & pushed my limits every time. Everyone was kind & would def recommend to others.
Although when I came to the first class, I didn't really receive the 'first timer' experience...not sure why. I came into BodyBar as a beginner who’s only taken one pilates class a loooong time ago in a diff city; I communicated this to the front during my first class & was under the impression I'd get some sort of intro to this studio/refresher on the reformer but I didn’t. Was told prior to arrive 15 minutes early but I never got a formal introduction to the studio nor how the ‘Classic’ classes go. It was pretty much a jump right in as if I were a regular.
Was kind of lost & had to watch others to figure out what was going on and how to use the boards cables etc....eventually after the first two classes I finally understood the directions coming from the instructors. They were all great classes, though!

I took my first pilates class with Alexa at BodyBar. The booking process was very simple. The studio was very clean and welcoming, there was a welcome sign when I entered with my name on it which felt really nice. Check in was super easy. The class was very fun and challenging, Alexa was patient and helpful during the class and made me feel very comfortable. Alexa is a great instructor and as a beginner, I’d recommend her reformer class to anyone wanting to try pilates. Thank you!

Between BODYBAR, solidcore, Resistance, and Studio Lagree - this is the best reformer/lagree studio I've been to. For me it's not even close. I would love to add this studio into my rotation but unfortunately, they are not on ClassPass. So I end up settling for other places. Hope they end up getting on there.

I have been going to BodyBar since they opened their location in Wicker Park earlier this year and I love it! Luke was amazing! He was super patient with me given I was new, and have trouble with verbal instructions. He offered so many modifications as well based on the intensity one wanted. My legs, core and arms were shaking by the end of the class! The music and ambiance was perfect as well.
To add on, the facility is super clean, and everyone was super kind and helpful. I hope to go back sometime soon!

I really love this studio. The workouts are much more effective than your standard Pilates class. However, I believe the membership fee is way too high. For the amount of money I am paying I would hope for more variation in classes as it seems the instructors don’t coordinate on workouts and we end up doing very similar workouts to ones we just completed the day before.

I have been LOVING the classes at Body Bar. Today was my second class with Kimberly: she’s thorough and supportive and very clear about the positioning and moves on the reformer (which is great for a chubster beginner like me!). I’ve taken mainly the Classic classes to get used to the machines but the Reformer classes are an intense workout—but I’m a good way. Thanks for having me!
If you’re on the fence—take that first class free! There’s also a great 3/$75 deal going on right now which is totally worth it!

I had a wonderful first class! As someone who hasn’t taken a fitness class since pre-pandemic (I know, I know), I was nervous. But the team at Bodybar in Wicker Park made me feel so welcomed. The ‘classic’ class was a great speed. The one thing I wish I had asked about is if they had a headrest for exercises we do laying on our side, as I may have strained my neck a bit! I’m newer to Pilates and using the Reformer. The Classic class is a great introductory class. Luke is excellent at explaining the movements and is always keeping an eye out for anyone that needs help. He is also great at describing how the work and stretches should feel and gives specific cues to ensure you can get your body into the correct position. Amazing full body workout. Great balance of working muscles and stretching them out.

I have had an amazing experience since discovering BODYBAR Pilates in wicker park. I highly recommend giving it a try and this location specifically. The team is excellent, engaging and caring about their members. The classes are varied and for a beginner like me they have options they ease you into it. I have very tight hips and bad posture from desk work but with the BODYBAR Pilates in Wicker Park I feel like I can get on the right path again.

I went to two classes here - a jump class and a regular reformer class - and really enjoyed both. I am pretty picky about group fitness classes, especially classes that require good form. I feel like both instructors were great about describing the exercises, keeping an eye on the students, and politely correcting my form. After class I've felt pleasantly sore (I definitely worked out) but have not been in pain. I took my first class, purchased their 3 for $75 pack and will likely purchase more when that runs out.
As an aside, I really like all the instructors as people as well. Everyone who works here is so nice and friendly and truly seems invested in their work and their community. I'm glad this business opened up near me and I would recommend it to others.

This is my new favorite Pilates studio in Chicago. The studio itself is incredibly spacious. All reformer machines are staggered so you can actually see yourself in the mirror, unlike a lot of studios that have them stacked in front of each other. The music was great, the instructors had great energy. Could not recommend this place enough. Came for my first free class, and I will be coming back.
