Absolutely terrible place. Account rep let me cancel over the phone and then they sent attempted to collect on back membership. Shady, dirty, and overall disgusting business practices. LA fitness is the same price essentially and much nicer. Avoid this gym at all costs

Honestly love this gym. Have been coming for years and years now. They keep the prices low and repair equipment regularly. Staff keep it clean and are always helpful. They're expanding their boxing stuff which is cool, but they took away the rec room and massage table room :/ Also the showers are unusable and could probably have better use for the space. I'm glad to see improvements over time and love the addition of the massage chair! Will def keep coming here, love that it's 24 hours too.

2yr update: Staff is still super friendly. Crowds are not bad at all. 24/7 access is still nice. However, there are still children running around the gym equipment like a playground. The handles and bearings of several pieces of equipment have not been replaced for two years. The machines have been lightly dusted but very apparently never actually wiped down. Bathrooms can get pretty gross, they're probably just lightly wiped down as well. And there are still only clean towels for wiping down equipment *sometimes*.

Been coming to this gym for about a year. The staff is really friendly. The gym is usually not crowded. The floor and locker rooms are usually kept clean. 24/7 hours is a plus to come to the gym whenever you would like.
BUT.

The equipment itself is not kept clean. There is dust and hair and dirt all over the equipment. Pretty sure the floor is vacuumed but the equipment is never actually wiped down. On top of this, towels for wiping down your equipment are in extremely short supply. I would say 50% of the time that I walk into the gym in the afternoon there are no clean towels for my entire workout. Never any clean on the weekends when it is only partially staffed. So this means most of the people in the gym can't wipe down the equipment. Yuck! Also a lot of the equipment is missing pieces like handles or endcaps, and these pieces have been missing for the entire 10 months I have been at this gym. They've never been replaced.

Lastly, the boxing gym. Added this year to take up one of the two breakouts rooms. I am very happy that those looking to box have a nice dedicated space for that. HOWEVER, the children's boxing classes that take place here have gotten so out of hand. They usually occur in after school/work hours when the gym is most crowded. The kids (probably age 5-14) run laps around the gym, through the treadmills and other machines. Or sometimes they take up all the available treadmills at the same time to do cardio. Often after the cardio portion they take up the entirety of the turf space in the gym for classes that involve a lot of kids screaming and yelling at the request of the instructor. And then after the class is over, many of the kids hang out amongst the machines and workout areas while they wait for their parents/ride, playing tag or screaming or just swinging on equipment.

I have no problem with children's boxing classes and think they're a wonderful offering for these kids. But weaving in and out of equipment, playing around in the equipment after classes, and the constant screaming in the gym is both unsafe and extremely disruptive to the rest of the patrons. I have sent numerous notices to the ownership through the CFX website but nothing has changed so now I leave a review to let others know what they're paying for at this gym. I wish it was a little cleaner, the equipment was maintained better, and the kids classes weren't disruptive. The gym next door looks more and more appealing every day. I hope some actions are taken so I don't feel encouraged to switch gyms because I like the staff and the usual patrons.

Boxing enthusiast/athlete here. I love the training, as well as Cedric's motivation/willingness to train his students. The last boxing gym I went to was great (some time ago), but then it all became just about the money, with the coach unwilling to endorse me and some other fighters to compete while showing favoritism for other members. Not to mention, the equipment was starting to fall apart, with the treads ripping on the treadmills and the pull-up bars missing some screws. I am so glad that's not the case here.

I was Visiting family nearby. Decided to go here for a quick workout. Place looks better then all other CFX also has more equipment then other CFX. But giving it 1 star because there was No AC on when it was like 80 degrees outside. Also the drinking water in fountain was warmer then room temperature. The staff was welcoming.

I’ve been going to gyms and fitness facilities my entire life. (I’m 62) The CFX in Mundelein is everything you can ask for!! Now…. If you a person that has to have all the bells and whistles you might think differently. However, this place has everything you need to get in a great workout no matter what your goal is. The staff is great… Especially the young man that played the 80”s music one day when he noticed the age demographic that was working out at that time. Along with that he and the others are pleasant right when you walk in the door! The members are from all age groups and fitness levels. Don’t pass on this place! It’s great!!

It’s a decent gym, however, due to them being understaffed, there’s rarely any towels to use to clean your equipment. It would be great if they would invest in some paper towel dispensers around the gym so people can actually clean up after themselves throughout the day, not just during staffed hours.

Also, they have a small deadlift platform but no bumper plates. I’m not sure how this makes sense. People are going to injure themselves with improper form due to the height. If you have this, have proper equipment for use.

CFX is a very reasonably priced 24 hour gym for how nice it is. It has top notch equipment and friendly staff who keep it clean. The boxing club there is outstanding! The coach is fantastic! The kids love him and they’ve gained alot of confidence learning the skill of boxing from him.

This gym is just awesome. Huge assortment of machines. Multiple squat racks and deadlifting platforms. Hack squat machine & smith machines as well. Very clean and spacious. I came for just a day via ClassPass but if I lived in the area I’d become a member in a heartbeat!!

Went into the store to cancel membership. Signed documents, girlfriend signed documents and left with a physical copy of cancellation.

2 months went by and they charged me 2 times for a total of $84.00.

Called the store asking for a refund due to the membership being cancelled and the employee did not file our paperwork correctly and the membership was still active.

Was told tough luck by the manager. Would not recommend if you want to deal with people who are trustworthy.

This is a excellent gym and had the pleasure of working with a fantastic trainers(Joe and Fernanda). From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and supported by the staff and other members. The gym itself is clean, well-maintained, and has a wide variety of equipment to choose from.

I've been to a few fitness places and CFX Mundelein is the best one for me yet. Staff is friendly and always nice, and most importantly no one bothers me asking if I need help or a personal trainer likeore commercial gym places do. It's always clean, has great music, people that go there are respectful and mind their own thing. CFX has a variety of equipment and classes, and great membership options. Conquer Fight Club is the best boxing gym in Lake County. You will get the best work out with Coach Larry who is a phenomenal boxing coach. He motivates others to be the best they can be and truly dedicates in entirety to his boxers. We create champions here. The boxing gym is clean, has lots of assortment of bags and an entire boxing ring. The lighting adds for a cool effect too. He provides classes for women and children as well. It’s a great way to change your life, I personally have lost over 85lbs working through Coach Larrys boxing regiments and I have won many fights with Larry by my side as my coach. I love this place, it’s definitely the best gym around.

The whole building has been remodeled, the staff is always there to help.
