This Orland Park location is permanently closed, and has been replaced by a UFC gym. The nearest one from here is currently Homer Glen.

I have been a member of many workout facilities, and Orland Park's Charter Fitness is by far my favorite! It has everything that I want and need. Straightforward, clean, and an amazing crew. I have also been a member of their personal training program for yrs now. Their personal training sessions are exactly what anyone would want... Fun motivating trainers, challenging workouts, and the best bonus AFFORDABLE! I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a gym in the area!

I've been a member of Orland Park Charter Fitness for quite a few years and continue to visit this location regularly. The staff is friendly and helpful, the facility is clean, the equipment is quickly repaired when broken, and the other gym members abide by gym rules (re-racking weights, etc.). I have participated in personal training in the past and learned a lot of fundamental techniques that have helped me to form my own lifting program. Overall, I would highly recommend this particular Charter location. The lighting is also good selfie lighting ;)

I am a member at the Glen Ellyn location but happened to stop for a workout at the Orland Park location last week. If you need to go to a gym in Orland Park, this is your gym. It was nice inside with all the equipment anyone would need to build muscles, and the staff was super friendly which is a bonus. They play good tunes too in the off chance your headphones die or you just forget them. Orland Park Charter doesn't warrant anything less than 5-stars.

It's Equipment is well maintained and the employees keep it relatively clean. The patrons are mostly a young college age crowd but there are also many older people training here. Everyone gets along. The biggest complaint to me is the ceiling lights the are much to Bright when doing any exercises on your Back a example would be the Bench Press . This is really a poor Design for any Gym. I work out here regularly the price is right and is convenient to to do all the basics.

Definitely just an okay gym for the daily grind. You get what you pay for. The maintenance on their machines seems to be lacking, specifically in the Eliptical area.
Lights have been flickering for a month before they're fixed, made it seem like a rave while working out. Not such a bad thing I guess.
Their open area / free lifting section seems the most attended to.

I go to this gym for free under the silver sneakers program for seniors. Most of the members seem to be fit and tattooed youngsters, but, hey, they don't bother me, so what do I care? The place is better air conditioned than most of the other gyms I go to, and the weight equipment and treadmills are kept in pretty good condition and are spaced nicely far apart, although there does seem to be a shortage of five-pound weights. Also, rock music is played fairly loud, but it isn't so bad that I'd want to complain. All in all, I like this gym pretty well.

One of the more annoying things I've noticed here is the lights right above the benches, which is just poor design, since it blinds the whole time your benching.
The more I go to this location the more I appreciate it. Can do with some updated machines, a more open free weights area for deadlifting things like that but a good gym over all.

Lots of expensive fees and changing of costs!!
Thereβs a sign in the entrance that says $0 to join, but Charter charges you a $60 fee that locks you into a contract for a year.
Also, they changed the guest rules for the premium pass without any notice. You pay double the normal membership fee to only bring in a guest ONCE per month. I only got the premium membership for the unlimited guest passes. So, buying the premium pass is totally not worth it anymore. To downgrade, they want another $50 as an βinitiation fee.β
They also increased the normal membership fee 50%.... The gym is muggy and a lot of the equipment is old. Getting a membership to Charter really isnβt worth the hidden fees and changing of prices.

The music is WAY TOO LOUD. I cannot fathom why they would need to play it this loud as almost everyone i see is wearing headphones and listening to their own music. I cant even hear my own music playing through ear buds at almost maximum volume. I imagine that other patrons cant hear their own music as well.
There are also only 2 squat racks and only 3 benches and they are always taken during busy hours. The grips on the universal station are all worn out.
But there is a lot of space to workout which is very nice.

Friendly staff, great equipment (not sure what these folks are whining about below. I have a three month pass and they let me in for a couple days after my week pass expired, I did eventually join. Lot of rich orland park "Joe College's". Good crowd regardless. Wish they did have sitting bench assist machine.

Rude staff, old machines, and the same red carpet when it was cardinal fitness. I don't know how this company remains in business. The management is almost as inept as the rest of the staff. Can't wait till my contract is up.

I don't know why people are complaining about the staff when you're going to a gym to TRAIN not to chit chat with staff every time you come in. If you do have a question to ask an employee though, the gym is relatively small and you'll find a staff member pretty fast, at least in my experience of almost a year of membership. To be honest though, they aren't always that helpful.
Keep in mind, this gym is 10 bucks a month, with a nice variety of machines and free weights, with dumbbells that go up to 100 pounds. It is relatively clean, and there's always someone vacuuming.
The only reason why I gave this 4 stars is because it's too crowded sometimes and the bench press being free for more than a minute or two on week nights is a rare occurrence.
If you're looking for a gym that gives you the best bang for your buck and you're not nit picky about employees and just want to WORK OUT, then this place is good enough.

Months later and not much has changed. Except now they've taken away wife for guests stating that it interferes with their Internet. From my experience, businesses generally have two wifis to alleviate this problem but they're probably just too cheap. Instead of doing things, you still generally have three to five staff members hanging around the counter.
The gym really sucks and they hardly put anytime into cleaning until the end of the night. It's dirty, bathroom is always gross. Half the time people never leave the counter. This is the worst location I've been to.

I signed up two weeks ago and I dread going here. I love working out, lifting weights, running etc. The motivation isn't the problem. It's the weasel manager. He's a stickler. I just jumped gyms from Lifetime to Charter because I wasn't using the entire facility for $60 a month it's not worth it. But now I wish I hadn't left. I'd gladly pay $60 a month to never see John at Charter Fitness again. Looking for a new gym.
Manager came up to try to belittle me for doing deadlifts. "You're 0 for 3!" because I removed my shoes (for best practice of form) used chalk (as to not rip my hands open with 325 lbs on the bar) and bounced the weights. As I politely suggested the gym should invest in some bumper plates to reduce the amount of noise the weights make when bouncing off the ground, John then condescendingly told me that he only asked me to be careful. Actually, no he didn't ever say anything even close to that. I used a towel to neatly apply chalk to my hands without it getting all over the gym, and I used soft fitness mats to protect the floors from the weights bouncing. I'd say I was actually being very careful and considerate of the other gym members and the staff.
Then I get rejected from the only flat chin-up bar in the gym which is "off limits" to personal training customers. I have never seen a personal training session in my time there. The room is in plain sight of the front desk, and as I was walking in, I held the door for a woman to exit after she did her kettle bell routine. No one said anything to her. Am I just being personally targeted?
Never at anytime during my orientation/sales presentation was it mentioned that I could benefit from this being a "nap safe" gym where you could quietly nap or read a book in the free-weight zone, which is ironically equipped with loud, hard, and heavy things called weights. Never at anytime during my sales presentation was I made aware of the extra personal training sessions I would be allowed to pay for at the price of $56 an hour in order to be near the pull-up bar.

been a member for over a year. Locker room always nasty. Urinal and toilets are disgusting. Rarely has clean towels. Equipment is ok. Trying to terminate membership, they claim that another month has to be charged. Management are idiots. I recommend the Mokena location over this one.

This place has got to be the biggest joke. This location really gives Charter Fitness a bad name. I had a horrible experience here. From the ditzy counter girl to the manager on duty. They are rude and could give a flying **** if you're a member or not. With so many people signing up in January they don't care if people are signing up.
I asked about a tour and the manager said that I know what it's like because I used to have a member at a different location three years ago. I told him that the layout and vibe would be different and he cut me off and said "it's not different".
I told him that I wasn't looking to sign up and he said "that's fine". I said "what do you mean that's fine". He said "oh its nothing personal with you, but if you don't wanna sign up then don't sign up. We have alot of people signing up in January".
This clown really needs to take a few courses on management or customer service.

Watch out for this place, once you sign something they will drain your pockets and will not do anything to help you out and keep a happy costumer. I was a member for 14+ months there, they automatically renewed my membership without notifying me and charged me extra enrollment fee and monthly fee and when I talked to the general manager who also is part owner they were not going to returned the extra charges that they did to my credit card. The kept bringing up the fact that I signed something 12months ago and it is part of the contract and they told me back then. I wouldn't get a membership there if even it was $1/month.
