I have been a loyal member since 2021, and recently I’ve been going through financial hardship, so I decided I needed to end my membership. I missed the 30 day notice by only 5 days and emailed Club with the hopes that they would understand and not make me pay for another month in which I will not be able to even use it. Even when talking to the front desk about what to do, they said to call or email the headquarters and said “hopefully they will do the right thing”. I was deeply ashamed that a company with 70 million in revenue would not have the compassion for their clients. An extra $30 for this company wouldn’t phase them, but that’s what you get when you are a member here. They don’t care about you, they see you as a number and only care about their wallet.

I have been going to this gym for over two years now and the only issues I've ever run into have been with the kid club. Yesterday, I got there at 8:10, knowing that the kid club opens at 8. Well, I was told that no one would be there until 8:40 and that that's how it would be on Thursdays now because that's when they could get their next employee there. Then today, I was walking up to the door and was greeted outside to tell me that kids club would not be opening at all today because their second employee called in, leaving only one person on staff to work the front desk. That's unacceptable!! Hire enough employees to be there to honor your company hours and show respect to your members that are PAYING (premium prices) for that service!!!! Beyond frustrating.

This gym routinely throws off my wife’s day. She pays for the plan that includes kid club. Then, with no notice, she’ll arrive for her work out and be SENT AWAY because they’re not staffing the gym appropriately.
When they’re properly staffed, the gym is fine.

Refund her a fair portion of her membership fees or hold up to your end of the deal, Club Fitness!

Tonight, 8/2/2025 I attempted to access the gym @9:43pm and when I attempted to use my QR code from the appt on multiple attempts the door would beep but it would not unlock. Fix the door or the app to ensure members can access the building.

The hidden fees to cancel your membership is $125.97 if you do not pay for the year in advance. Not only do you have go to the center to cancel the membership, but after sending a request to cancel your membership, you will receive information with the cancellation fee and that you can just resume your membership in order to avoid paying $125. It is also better to call the company because the 100 you pay before the fee of the membership is for three training sessions. If you do not use that then the $99 you paid will go towards the fee for the $125.97. If you have money to waste then sign up for this gym, but if not look for a local gym or something else or even planet fitness. Just a heads speaking from my own personal experiences.

Benefit so much at this club fitness. I especially benefit from their stretching room. My routine includes red light therapy, the massage chair, the stretching area, then following light strengthened, then cardio / sauna and shower. This is the best medicine prescribed. I am 75 and going strong.

1 year member at this gym had to leave because Im moving. Very friendly environment. Only seen 1 fight over a guy taking his shirt off and taking photo's of himself. Didn’t really get bad though, didn't really care either myself though haha. My only complaint is that in the mens bathroom you can usually still see stains from water near the sink and the barcode scanner at the door doesn’t usually work. Overall, I loved working out there, the environment was friendly and the staff were very nice. I would definitely still would go there If I still lived in the east alton area. It’s a Hidden gem.

I froze my membership because I couldn’t go to the gym for a few months, they unfroze my membership and started billing me without my knowledge and now they say I owe them 210 dollars. I haven’t been in their gym in over 6 months. They let you do everything online but to cancel you have to go in, there is no customer service. Place is a joke. Update- I cancelled my membership in store and then they sent me to collections threatening to dock my credit. Go to a local gym save some money and don’t get scammed!

I still love coming to this gym. Very friendly environment with staff, including with the regular gym goers. Everyone’s always willing to step up and help you out wherever or whenever the help is needed. Very clean building and the childcare is outstanding. This gym has a lot of potential and nice equipment if it was taken care of, but the place is extremely unclean. Built up sweat is disgusting and unsanitary where I don’t even want to touch the machines. Flex wipe containers are always out so no one wipes down the machines after use.

When my wife and i went to the gym December 9 I let the worker at the front desk know our barcode would not let us into the gym the previous 3 day. She informed me that they took our 24 hour access away and we would have to start paying more to get it back. We have been with this gym since it opened and I don't think this is how you should treat long time members. After we left we immediately went to check out other gyms in the area and ended up joining on that day. The very next day we returned to Clun Fitness to cancel our memberships.

I can only speak for the men’s bathroom, but it’s not clean. I mean actually cleaned with cleaning chemicals as a public restroom should be.

Longest stretch I’ve seen without cleaning the toilets is over 2 weeks. If the bathrooms are infrequently cleaned, it’s safe to assume other things aren’t cleaned.

I cancelled my membership because I hate the music and how crowded it is during the only time I’m able to work out (the latter isn’t their fault). My first gripe is that you have to cancel in person, but everything else done with your account is done online which makes no sense to me. My second and main complaint is that they continued to draw from my account after I cancelled. I really have nothing else to say, it’s an average gym with a poor system, but with a polish to make it look high-end and worth your money.

Best gym I’ve ever been to. There is always enough equipment no matter the time. You never have to wait in line to use anything. The gym is very clean with awesome locker rooms that have great lighting and even provide you with spray deodorant or q tips if needed. My favorite thing about this gym is the sauna and the turf that they have. The staff is always very friendly and there for any questions that you may have. I love that it’s 24 hours as well. Great affordable price for everything that comes with it.

I have to wonder if the reviews are by staff and friends of staff. This location is not great! The machines are dirty and worn down, the plates are scattered everywhere, there is always trash in the freeweight section, and the staff is busy talking to each other on their phones and ignoring customers. I went here when they first opened and it was very nice. Now, it’s one of the worst gyms in town. They need to get new management and maybe corporate should actually do inspections.

Had my first training session done today with Malory and going into it I was nervous since I’ve only been lifting for a year and starting a new gym is always intimidating but let me tell you Malory is super personable and made me feel so comfortable showing me some new exercises that I already love and motivated me the whole time and even gave me a recipe for a high protein easy breakfast meal!! She did a whole assessment on this awesome scale that calculates everything you need to know about your body. If you are a female looking to have someone train you that feels like you’re being trained by a friend I highly recommend this gym and Malory!! Super excited to have her as my trainer and to see all the progress I’m going to make with her helping me!! :)

I give Club Fitness - Eastgate five stars because - I'm 62 years of age and the thought of walking into a gym with a bunch of younger extremely fit people was overwhelming. However, I was impressed when I walked in and was taken on a personal tour of the gym. I loved the fact that they had a special room just for women to work out in - it is small, but at least they had one. I still needed a push to get me to come to the gym so they recommended I hire a personal trainer. I knew it would have to be someone that would be willing to listen to me since I do have some physical issues. I asked for a woman. They picked Hanna Songtag to be my trainer. I couldn't be happier. She listens, actually listens to my concerns and works with me standing by my side the whole time! She adjusts the machines for me and helps me with the free weights. We workout right along with all the other younger and buffer people. Hanna has made me feel so comfortable in an environment that was so scary to me at first. I work out twice a week with Hanna and even dare to go on my own sometimes. I couldn't be happier and I'm getting stronger and losing some weight - doing something I didn't think could be done. So happy!! Thank you!

I am completely in love with this gym. Staff is always making sure the environment is clean and they are the nicest people I’ve ever encountered at a gym. The club is clean and open 24/7. Other than that - the staff has been super unhelpful. Hardly ever at their desk. I have questions about setting up my barcode on the new app and there is no way to directly call the club. I filled out a “contact us” form and have not gotten a call back.

Also also. I signed up for the childcare plan (which costs more money) Both my husband and I so we could workout together and drop our kids off. Our first time bringing the kids we were told that they don’t take children under 2 years of age. That’s fine - BUT I wish I would’ve been told BEFORE buying the pricier plan and locking in for a year.

The second AND third time my husband brought the older 2 kids the childcare closed early or just closed that day. SEND AN EMAIL. COMMUNICATE PLEASE. It’s hard enough to get motivation to go to the gym especially while getting children ready and packed up to be told JK WE ARE CLOSED TODAY. And yes, we brought the kids within the normal childcare hours.

Did not live locally, was here for my daughters hockey camp. Club fitness was couple buildings up from where she was. I walked in to see if I could buy passes while I was here. The staff was amazing! They offered the 3 day trial pass which was free. I was shown the facility which I was blown away. Never seen such an amazing gym/club. I felt comfortable and right at home. Staff approached me daily to see how I was doing or just say hi. I bragged to my friends and sent them some pictures of what was available to me. Wish we had a Club Fitness closer to Jefferson City. Started going to this gym and was a bit awkward cause I really let my fitness go because of the pandemic and a thousand other excuses. Trainer Matt Haverstick came over to me as I was doing a lift, with not the best form, you could say. Matt kindly showed me how to do the lift much more effectively and so I would not hurt myself! The 58 y/o lady does not have anytime to hurt herself! Matt is a great inspiration to me as he battled getting in shape himself and then become a power lifter extraordinaire! I scheduled a gym tour with Matt and I learned so much and it gave me much more confidence to hit it hard like I used to! Please go to Eastgate club Fitness and say hi to Matt - you won’t regret it and he will get you back on track!
