The classes are okay, but honestly they’re kind of boring because it’s always the same basic exercises. When I asked to move to the next level, they didn’t allow me because I had to take at least 12 classes , which I did. After that, I decided to stop going because I thought my 3-month commitment was over. I paid for the full 3 months even though I didn’t attend every class, since their cancelation policy is very strict and sometimes I couldn’t go because of work.

Now they’re pressuring me to pay for classes that I will not take. I told them I already completed and paid for my entire 3-month membership, but they make you sign a confusing form where you still have to pay even after finishing your commitment if you don’t notify them. I feel pressured because they’re asking me to pay for classes I’m not going to attend and that were never agreed on. They never even asked what would work for me or how to keep me as a customer . The only thing they care about is money, not the customer. If they had asked me what they could do to keep me in the classes, I would have requested to move to the next level, but they never cared about my experience.

Can't get into a Saturday morning class for weeks now. I have limited availability and there are few level 1 classes for early morning/weekend timing. This is the 2nd time I've tried to join this location and both times the scheduling is losing you a paying customer. There simply are not enough level 1 sessions, especially on weekends. You'll see this trend in the comments as well. You're only hurting your own business.

I've been to a few classes with different instructors at this location. One instructor was very dry and the way she corrected a newer guest was rude in my opinion... to the point that a guest may not return due to how insensitive she was. I also continuously cannot get into classes especially on the weekends and I work for myself so my schedule is flexible compared to most. I feel that the studio cannot accommodate the volume they have based on the excessive wait lists I see. Overall, it is clean and well kept.

I love the Algonquin Club Pilates! First of all I have never stuck with an exercise program this long, over 2 years! I think the reason is a combination of that the atmosphere is great and the instructors are all so wonderful, patient, knowledgeable, and change the routines up all the time!! It is managed so well and everyone is so friendly! So easy to schedule classes, too. I highly recommend this location!

Love, love, love my classes and my instructors at Club Pilates in Algonquin. They have changed my life. The instructors are amazing. I originally took the intro class with the idea that I wanted to be in better shape and was feeling older, at 62. In six short months, mainly Level 1, I have reshaped my body and eliminated my shoulder and neck pain, along with my vertigo. I can only put this down to the strength and flexibility I’ve gained in a short 6 month period. The instructors to a person are professional and top-notch, each one carefully watching to be sure that form is correct. I have my favorites, but find that no matter which class I take, I will receive excellent instruction. This is a great studio!

I’ve had such a great experience at the studio thanks to Nanette and Jacki!
Nanette is an incredible Pilates instructor—knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what she does. She has a way of explaining movement that makes everything click, and she’s always mindful of individual needs and goals. Her classes are challenging in the best way, and I always leave feeling stronger, more aligned, and recharged. 💪💪

Jacki at the front desk is just as wonderful. She’s warm, welcoming, and super helpful with scheduling and any questions I’ve had. Her friendly energy sets a positive tone the moment you walk in, and she truly makes the studio feel like a community.
Highly recommend both of them if you're looking for a top tier experience in both instruction and customer care!🌸❤️

I absolutely love taking classes with Nanette at Club Pilates in Algonquin! Jacki is always there to greet us with a warm and welcoming smile. They both bring such great energy and encouragement to every class—it honestly makes me look forward to working out and coming to Pilates. They have a way of making the studio feel like home, and I always leave feeling stronger, happier, and more motivated. So grateful for them both!

Ladies, ladies, ladies... some of these reviews! 😅 Let's be kind, yeah? Before we dive in, let’s give a shoutout to these amazing instructors:

Kristen – You make my Tuesday and Friday mornings the best!
Dawn – You kick my glutes in the best way!
Nanette – Love your cuing!
Jana – Your Monday Level 2 class is fab!
Meredith – My toned legs appreciate you!
Patricia – Congrats on becoming an instructor! (Not something I could do!)
Nadine & Ava – My weekends are better because of you!

Now, a few things to keep in mind when reading some of these less-than-glowing reviews:

> An instructor correcting you isn't being rude — they're keeping you safe and helping you get the most out of your workout. Better safe than sorry (or losing a tooth)!

> Don’t vibe with an instructor or their style? Totally fine. Just take a class with a different instructor.

> You can’t film or take pictures during class — it’s about respecting everyone’s space and privacy.

> Not into a chatty class? Maybe look into a private session — it’s totally an option.

These instructors have truly reformed my body. I’m toned, my butt looks fab, and I’ve built more muscle than ever before.

Peace, Love & Pilates,
Marlee

Grateful to be part of this community! If you’re looking for a supportive, high-quality Pilates experience, this is the place!

The review is just for the class that I took recently at 11 AM. The instructor (K.) was very unprofessional, and It made me feel very disappointed and upset that professional Pilates Instructor lacks of.... the ability to keep her attitude away from work. This doesn't reflect the whole studio and the quality of class or other instructors.
The long story made it short; The instructor started a class few minutes late because she was chatting with a client from a previous hour: class. I thought it was a bit unprofessional and inconsiderate. However, I could easily to go by understanding that " it happens ".But as a first minutes of class finally started, she put the whole class in a wide footwork position and started to chat again! with an another client that she supposedly haven't seen for a while. As I looked on my watch, we were doing the same exercise footwork for over 3 minutes and she was continue to talk to her client as we were not there or not important. I am pregnant and position started to get very uncomfortable and I started to get frustrated with waiting for her instructions as she continued to ignore the rest of the class for a second time . As I was really uncomfortable and felt like this needs to stop, I made a comment about changing a position, and her response was an attitude towards me that she is talking to the client!! Which she was doing!! she was doing on my watch and ignoring everyone else because she needed to talk to her client. Her attitude to my comment, the fact that she wasn't apologetic, and, in fact, she was wasting my money and time. In addition , she putted us in long and uncomfortable position have a lot to do with The professionalism. I will add I am an instructor of 20 years and have my own practice and I never judge a teaching style or mistakes. However, professionalism is something that needs to be content and preserved in a world of professional Pilates instructors. I don't doubt she's a good instructor, however, if I left a class angry instead of happy, tense instead of energized something went wrong!

Unfortunately, It did left me with bad taste to the A. Club Pilates. I don't need a free class but wanted to make sure that Professional Pilates Instructors stay Professional!

Love love this place!!! This location has a way of making everyone feel welcomed.

From day 1 Patricia explained everything in depth and was transparent with expectations/contract etc..Doing all of this with a smile on her face. She has patience of a saint.

I’ve taken most of my classes with Jana. I really enjoy her workouts and teaching techniques. She has a way to make people feel comfortable and always happy to see everyone.

Just recently I started taking more day classes with Kristen. Her workouts are challenging, in a good way of course. Her positive attitude is contagious and nothing but positive vibes.

I must say Pilates is my new happy place!

I started at Club Pilates almost 2 months ago. Initially I started with an 8 class/month package but after the first week I upgraded to the unlimited membership because I am ADDICTED.

First off - I love the instructors. I’ve taken the most classes with Kristen and love her sense of humor and excellent instruction/personal feedback. That being said, every instructor is different and I have enjoyed every single one.

The app makes it so easy to plan/manage my schedule.

I have primarily been lifting heavy weights and powerlifting the last 20ish years so I was honestly surprised to already be seeing significant strength gains and far less aches and pains day to day.

If you’re on the fence, come check it out!

After over a year I cancelled my membership at this location. I asked the studio if I could discreetly film only myself for my weight loss progress. Losing over 40 lbs is a big thing for anyone. Me asking permission when technically it is not illegal to film inside a public space, was showing respect to the facility which I did not receive in return. There was never a real written policy on this rule so when I asked the GM she stated she would get back to me. Additionally, told me if I wanted to ask the instructors of the class if they would be okay with it. At the beginning of a class today 11/12/24, I asked instructor Nanette about such topic and it turned into her being very disrespectful, dismissive and unprofessional. She was rolling her eyes and said she did not want to argue or be defensive but that’s exactly what she was doing but also trying to deflect it onto me which I did not allow. Which caused Nanette to raise her voice at me telling me I was verbally attacking her, trying to manipulate the conversation. I immediately felt uncomfortable and walked to the front desk to tell the GM Patricia I would like to fill out my cancellation form. Reason for cancellation is not just because they had a made up policy of no videos but because of the reaction I got from the facility as a whole. This whole situation has brought out the true colors and integrity of this facility and some of their instructors. I could not be shown a policy regarding this or even forwarded to a website with their terms of condition/use. It seems to be about control with club Pilates and the instructors wanting to maintain exclusivity. Which if that is the case they would need to offer something worthwhile which I can assure you they do not have. Also if instructor Dawn is worried about her exercise routine being duplicated because no one else in the nation is performing those movements she should create her own form of Pilates and get it copyrighted and licensed to protect her intellectual property. This place is most definitely beginner friendly and good for people until they get to a certain point in their pilates journey, you cannot grow beyond that here. Since switching owners they have cut multiple class levels and categories, but at the same time raised their prices. Terrible upper management/ownership and I would say the vibe of this place is a little boring and not very lively. I do not care what the response by the owner will or will not be because what I stated here was 100% the truth. Other facilities in the area have no issue with personally recording yourself (not others) occasionally so it is very concerning club pilates shows so much toxicity & aggression towards it. Paying each month to ultimately not being able to do something that is beneficial for my workouts is a major turn off. Bye cp.

This location gets a one for me. I had signed up for a free class and the mass amounts of calls, emails, and texts I have received has been a huge deterrent to ever return. I have continuously blocked/unsubscribed emails and texts, as well as called and asked to be remove from any promotional outreach. Their marketing can only be described as tacky and annoying honestly. Do yourself a favor and use a junk email when signing up for anything with them.

9-21-2024 update : they commented and suggested I opt out from their promotional emails, despite my post stating “I have continuously unsubscribed”. I have opted out and continue to receive emails and texts to this day! Still a one star.

My favorite location! I’ve been going for 4 months and I love it! Recently I had some complications with another location and the front desk staff ( Patricia) was quick to find a resolve and made sure to check in with me continuously until that resolve fully happened.

I love how all the classes are a full body workout but it’s never the same rotation of things, they are always changing it up. I haven’t been able to take classes with all the instructors yet but my favorites so far are Nanette and Dawn!

Club Pilates in Algonquin was my first ever Pilates studio and I’ve been coming back for the last few months. I’ve been mostly taking my classes with dawn and Kristen, and it’s definitely a love hate relationship.

I love the workouts, enjoy their teaching styles, and love the variety of classes and levels that they offer. But I also hate it because of how hard Kristen and Dawn’s classes kick my bum.

Each class is definitely unique and it’s made me enjoy and love Pilates a lot more! I can’t wait to continue working out at this location and see just how strong my body gets!

I'm new to pilates and have been a member for just over 1 month. I signed up for unlimited classes because that's where the best value was and it brings the price per class down if taking more than 2 per week. I like that the classes are full, it encourages me to schedule classes in the future and gets it on my calendar to make me accountable. I've taken classes with almost all the instructors. Kristin is encouraging and makes sure my form is correct. Nanette explains which muscles should be engaged and felt. Jana introduces different moves and equipment. The front staff is friendly and encouraging as well. Patricia seems to always be there; She's helpful, asks how class was, and frequently asks for feedback. Since I joined, I've completed 17 classes and feel stronger in my legs, arms and core and I'm feeling more flexible. I'd recommend this studio to anybody wanting to try pilates or someone that wants a place to work out regularly. Men do pilates too!

I've been going to this location for a few months now whenever I can, but it's near impossible to get into a level 1/1.5 class. Front staff is nice. I think Jana is a wonderful instructor and hope to come back to some of her classes.
HOWEVER, I had a bad experience with both Nanette and Kristen. Which also means I have to avoid classes on those days and have even less options. Both were patronizing to me in front of the entire class. I get that they want you to have correct form, but there is a way to correct someone discreetly and with kindness. I wanted to post so other people can avoid the experience with those particular instructors. It's not worth it to have someone talk to you that way. Never had a problem at the other locations. Maybe they can be given a customer service training or learn to be more welcoming and keep the customer in mind.

Same , I agree with the review above. The new management does not give any chances when it comes to cancellation that is not within the 12 hour period. Everyone has emergencies or personal reasons we cannot attend. The classes are already expensive and can’t afford to keep losing out due to the new management. Please make changes to keep everyone happy. I have been a member for 6 months now and all the instructors are awesome especially Jana, Nanette and Dawn. Love their classes 😄.Also the lovely ladies at the front that are so accommodating.

I been going here for 4 years, and left a very nice review back in 2019, that I will remove 10/2023.
This place is under new management, and they have no idea how to keep loyal customers.
Most clubs have a 12-hour cancelation for class however not all clubs enforce it like the new management here will, it really depends on the circumstances, how long you been there, understanding that things happen weather you woke up sick, or you get to the office and things change or your stuck in traffic getting to the club it is on Randall Rd.
Even if you cancel a few hours prior to class, they won't hear you, which is unfortunate, and you will lose the class.
Save yourself the hassle unless you want to throw money out the window. Go to a club that appreciates your business especially when you prove yourself for 4 years.
This has nothing to do with the instructor they are all great at what they do.

I have been doing Pilates for half a year at the other Club Pilates location. Today I booked a more advanced class with this location since is closer to my house, so I booked it days ago and I was so exited for todays class. In a morning at 6 :00 am received an email that my class was cancelled, just two hours before the class. I still went there to explain that I am not a beginner, to be told that I am not allowed into the class because I have to go to their intro class. Well, first of all they should have communicated that a day before at least, second nobody called me to get more information on were am I with my pilates abilities, third, I have been waiting for this class for so long since my schedule is full. They place should have better communication with their clients, very disappointed. Also, for me a intro class is boring, I would prefer something more advanced. Really thought that this would my pilates place for the future, that how you loose clients for life.

Beginner friendly, do not expect a hard workout or to break a sweat. Those with injuries or limited mobility will enjoy, but if you want to really workout, go elsewhere. Poses are too easy and not held long enough. Most of the class is spent switching from simple move to simple move.

My girlfriend and I stopped by today at 1:45pm to check out the facility and pick up information about classes, memberships, etc. Imagine the surprise when we got there during posted business hours to find lights out and the door locked! Very disappointed and disillusioned that they don't honor their business hours as posted. Doesn't seem like a very reliable business to me. I guess we need to look elsewhere.
