This Monday, me and my friend got to the studio building around 8:33pm for 8:30pm class. But realized they locked the elevator to the 4th floor, so we had to take stairs which took longer. When we got to 4th floor, they also had the door locked. We knocked and the instructor said she decided to cancel the class because people were not there. She refused to teach the class even though we were there and she was there. It was so disappointing bec because she locked everything, we got to the 4th floor little after 8:35pm. We thought she just didn’t want to do her job. I didn’t appreciate that as a long time costumer. Also, I was couple of minutes late for couple of classes before and I was let in. When I wrote an email to them, they said we should have gotten there 15 minutes earlier, but we were not a first timers bec that’s the policy for first timer. They were so defensive and was trying to blame it on us by stating policies that were not for us. Every place has Grace Period for at least 5 minutes. They don’t lock their doors and elevators blocking every way to get there when it’s their job to teach.

Great classes. But it is a little saf that when I call the office with a quick question — even times when I absolutely know someone is sitting at the desk — they don’t pick up the phone; they put you you through through a national call server. which generally ends up sending you to something that says “call times are longer than expected. If you’d like to be called back, please press one.“

I don’t mind that when it’s actually true, but it boggles the mind that after five or six phone calls at different times day on different times I would have always gotten the same message. And the fact that it doesn’t seem to be true is a little bit off message for an organization that seems to pride itself on honesty and integrity, forthrightness.

Great workouts but giving one star because they literally PACK the classes it is so dangerous (a fire hazard for sure). My yoga mat was up against the door so no one could leave or enter because that is how little room there was. Then the instructor got mad when I wanted to leave early because I was LITERALLY blocking the door. Sorry for being considerate of others who might need to exit, especially considering how hot it is. I won’t be going back, just a horrible experience, especially compared to other locations, as I have been to many around Chicago and in other cities.

What kind of fitness studio doesnt provide plastic bags for sweaty clothes?? It’s a hot yoga studio clothes are going to be wet after class. I would tell ppl not to join just because of the non-existent
amenities

Went to class - door was locked. Could hear music playing loudly inside. I was 5 mins early.

Edit: since I can’t reply to owner’s response - I was five minutes EARLY, not late. And could not get into class. Absolutely ridiculous.

I took the 10am free team teach class with Annie D. and Emily Z., and it was phenomenal. I absolutely love the instructors here and they really take their jobs seriously. I also recommend Brooke G.'s C2 on Monday nights.

This studio kept my credit card on file and continuously charges my credit card random amounts for the past several months, yet I have not even been to this studio. Corporate CP was contacted, and they will do nothing about it. I reported this in January and asked for them to remove my card on file. They stated it was removed, however, now it is February, and I just received additional charges. I would absolutely not even risk going to a class here and putting a card on file at this studio as they will constantly charge you even when you don't take classes there and corporate CP is absolutely no help at all.

My favorite CPY class in the city is Emily Z’s Saturday morning sculpt class! She knows how to keep the energy up and has an amazing playlist to match. Look no further for the perfect blend of yoga, strength training and pilates! You will leave feeling empowered and ready to start the weekend!

I had a great experience here! I was in town from LA & desperately needed a workout. The teachers were awesome! They both were so friendly & sweet. The workouts were easy to follow along with even though I hadn’t taken a class at this studio yet. I took two sculpt classes & can’t wait to come back next time I’m in town from work. Thank you!

Was really disappointed when no one could answer the phone. “The call center” was not available. Just a horrible first impression. Why was I calling? To ask if they had any beginner classes as there schedule doesn’t show ANY. The clearly have no interest in beginners.

Woke up for an early class and was locked out of the studio via the only entrance, the elevator. Huge bummer for my first experience here. Didn’t know I was supposed to arrive 10 minutes early which is a long grace period for a morning class.

This was my first class ever. I felt welcomed right away, everyone was very friendly. The instructor Tracy McKay maintained the class with great energy and instruction. It was a very positive experience. I will definitely be back for her classes.

Most of the instructors are great. There are a few that need to leave! Dillon from River North Chicago is an excellent instructor. He should be a mentor to ALL.

The facility itself is very nice, which is the only reason I'm giving two stars rather than just one. The person who checked me in (and later turned out to be the instructor of the class) was rude from the outset. This was my first time at any CorePower studio and the registration process is annoying because it's all on an unresponsive touch screen and there's a lot to fill out. While I was completing it she made a comment in a derisive tone, but I'm generally nonchalant and let it go.

Let me also make the disclaimer that I am not even a novice yogi. I've done it maybe a handful of times. However, I am very fit and tried my best to do all of the poses and keep up with the class, but I don't know all of the names of each pose so needed help from my friend or by observing others. Several times she made comments not to do this. Then she attempted to help me, which was appreciated, but in a very brusque manner, and the entire time her tone was very condescending. Towards the end there was a pose that apparently I could just not do, despite trying very hard to do so, and she singled me out and loudly told me just to lie on my back rather than tell me what I was doing wrong or how to correct it. I wasn't embarrassed because I almost never am, but it was annoying. There is no health benefit to lying on my back.

Later I spoke with another person who was in the session and asked if he'd ever had her as an instructor before and he hadn't, but he was also dismayed by the tone she took and how impatient she was with me. Every other time I've tried yoga, the instructors have been very nice, which he iterated as well. This experience did not turn me off from trying it again, but I definitely won't be doing it at CorePower.

I enjoyed the three different classes I have taken thus far:Ashley in the Corepower Yoga 2 Class was performed in a heated studio which felt nice to get a good sweat in. She kept a quick pace and helped in releasing lots of tension from within my body. After the class was over, I felt as if I had a good overall workout. Frank in the Corepower Yoga 1 Class was also performed in a heated room. He did an awesome job by leading me through a variety of poses to help strengthen & stretch out my back and overall body. Kally in Core-Restorative Yoga: Candlelight was set with a relax mood. She did a good job in making sure my poses were correct. Such a great class since it helped me to focus in on my breathing and be able recognize how shallow my breaths were and where the tension was held mostly within my body. When I left the class I felt physically relaxed, clear minded, and more grounded. I highly recommend Corepower Yoga. Their heated yoga classes felt nice to practice in, especially as it begins to feel colder outside! Also, having taken a variety of classes gave me an overall workout and I was also able to focus in on restoring my body from everyday stress and tension.

Hi, I'm on day 3 of the week trial. Thank you. I took a class with Ashley, Frank and Kalli. They all helped in their own ways. The two facilities we're familiar. My partner suggested that I not focus on the financial situation or outcome for now. So with this in mind, why would I not tell everyone that they should try a week of free yoga at corepower yoga!

Definitely my favorite yoga option in Chicago (and when I travel). I've been doing yoga for years and they always have high quality instructors, and the class options at all hours of the day is huge compared to other studios. Bonus points for having live music sometimes

This place is extremely inconsiderate of the quiet day spa below them. Their classes consists of loud club music that can be heard below and lots of stomping on the ground that disturbs the clients that are trying to get a relaxing massage. So much for a peaceful atmosphere. CPY misses the mark on what yoga is suppose to be.

Great Yoga studio. Having visited many studios in many different countries, CoreYoga offered a great blend of modern yoga styles and music. Ma, the instructor, was brilliant in putting together a great session by mentally and physically. The premises offers good facilities/amenities with a good retail offering. Highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed.

This place is such a gem. There is no better workout than when you are in a 110 degree room tightening your muscles. Now I will say not all the classes give you that breathless workout feeling, but its nice to mix it up. I will say that the later class times fill up so make sure you are early!

Core Power Yoga, especially the Gold Coast location, offers excellent yoga because the instructors really know their stuff and really cater classes to their students' likes. I love the workout I get with CPY, but I love the relaxing and meditative aspects about it, too. CPY also offers a great Yoga for Trade program. My only complaint is that its a little small, and not always clean.

I feel more relaxed just walking in to CPY. Any of the studios make you comfortable and welcome. If you want to take a break during class and sit in childs pose, no problem. The teachers know that people have injuries and will help you if you tell them what they are. No one is looking at you or forcing you to try a pose.
If you love hot yoga this is for you!!

This is a one studio location, so it can get crowded especially after 5pm. The showers are usually free in the morning, which makes it easy to get a class in before work.
