Cami is a gem of a teacher at this yoga studio. I highly recommend her classes.

I first fell in love with the practice at the Bucktown location around 2015, and I remember the classes being incredibly rigorous, with a truly intense heat that I found challenging and rewarding.
Recently, I decided to revisit the CorePower experience at the River North location and signed up for about eight months. Unfortunately, it's not the same as I remembered, and the studio has left me feeling underwhelmed.
My primary frustration is with the class structure and routine. Unlike the Bucktown location, where the routines seemed to change weekly, the River North instructors stick to the same sequence for a month or even longer. For a regular attendee, this becomes incredibly repetitive and frankly, quite boring. It makes it difficult to justify a membership when the classes lack variety and the opportunity to grow.
The second major issue for me is the heat. The "heated" aspect of the class is a key selling point for CorePower, but the River North studio doesn't seem to maintain a consistently hot temperature. The instructors frequently open the studio doors during class, letting cold air flood in. This is incredibly disruptive and completely defeats the purpose of practicing in a heated room, especially when you are sweaty and trying to maintain a consistent body temperature. It feels counterintuitive and detracts from the full experience.
I also expected CorePower, as a large and established brand, to have expanded its offerings over the years. However, the class selection remains limited to CorePower Yoga and Hot Fusion. I would have loved to see more variety, such as a Pilates fusion class or other specialized formats, to keep things fresh.
Ultimately, while the brand name and the instructors are friendly, the lack of routine changes, inconsistent heat, and limited class options make it very hard for me to recommend a membership here, especially for someone who practices on a regular basis. The original CorePower experience I had was a challenging and dynamic one, but this location falls short of those expectations.

The industrial black ceiling grid looms overhead, punctuated by heating vents transforming this third-floor River North space into what regulars call a "lobster bake." At 95-105 degrees, CorePower delivers founder Trevor Tice's vision: yoga stripped of mysticism, amplified with sweat.
Friday afternoon C2 classes attract devoted followers to 310 W Superior Street. Beneath a striking raw wood beam cutting through modern industrial aesthetic, practitioners flow through sequences blurring ancient practice with contemporary workout. "There is something overwhelmingly special about a C2 class," explains one devotee.
This is yoga for the efficiency-obsessed, travel-frequent, membership- maximizing urban dweller. With 220+ locations across 23 states, unlimited membership ($139-$199 monthly) functions like a wellness passport—practice River North Friday, Denver while traveling.
Steps from Red Line's Chicago station and Brown Line's Chicago/Franklin stop, the location epitomizes River North's evolution. Converted warehouses house galleries and yoga studios. The architectural tension—industrial ceiling meeting rustic beam meeting floor-to-ceiling windows—mirrors CorePower's positioning: ancient practice, modern delivery.
Corporate efficiency brings complications. Multiple employee compensation lawsuits settled for $3.15 million total. Instructors love the community while struggling with below-industry pay. The founder's 2016 death added complexity to a brand navigating "McMindfulness" criticism.
The emphasis is decidedly physical. This isn't yoga for enlightenment—it's yoga for endorphins, sculpted shoulders, and what one might charitably call "enhanced posterior definition." Yoga Sculpt classes incorporate weights alongside poses, creating hybrids that make purists wince and personal trainers nod approvingly.
Props are provided except bolsters—an omission pointed in Yin "Core Restore" classes falling short of true restorative yoga's five-minute holds. Drop-in classes cost $23-$28, while new students receive a free unlimited week—generous trial reflecting confidence in their addictive heat-and-flow formula.
This is American yoga in 2025: democratized, systematized, occasionally problematic, undeniably effective at delivering workouts leaving students both spiritually centered and Instagram-ready. Ancient breathing meets modern fitness culture. Whether that represents evolution or exploitation depends on your tolerance for corporate wellness—and feelings about getting your namaste with a side of glute activation.
For Friday afternoon C2 regulars flowing beneath that massive wooden beam, philosophical questions fade facing practical reality: convenient transit, reliable heating, challenging sequences, and the peculiar satisfaction of emerging from a climate-controlled sweat lodge into Chicago's unpredictable weather.
CorePower succeeds not despite its contradictions, but because of them—offering spiritual practice for the spiritually ambivalent, community for the time-constrained, and ancient wisdom repackaged for the subscription economy.

Paid and attended class while visiting Chicago (an obscene $34 for a single class). Two days after I left the city, my card was charged an additional amount. There is no way to contact the studio directly. The customer service line has been no help and can’t seem to find the charge on their rend even after I sent several pictures of the transaction.

Was visiting Chicago for a weekend and dropped in for a Strength 50 class (total body). Really felt like I got a lot out of the workout- the balance between upper body and lower body exercises was great and the instructor (Kit) was fantastic! Hope to be back again soon.

I've been here twice, sort of. The elevator was inoperative both times, and on the second visit, the door into the studio was locked 10 minutes before my scheduled class, with a crowd of of people standing outside unable to get in. I've never been to a yoga studio that makes it this hard to attend a class. I can't recommend.

Finding a yoga studio that offered classes before and after my work day was my number one priority when searching. CorePower not only offers classes throughout the day, but their team has been inviting and their facility is always clean. I look forward to strengthening my practice with CorePower for years to come.

I went to Marin's Janet Jackson Sculpt class and it was so FUN! The class was definitely challenging but Marin was so engaging and energetic. Would definitely take another of her classes, and I'd love to explore more of CorePower's classes.

No one showed up today for class. There were 15 people waiting for the 12:00 Class. Nothing- Not a text or email or a message on the website. The woman in line with me - Said it happened to her once before also.
NO workout for me today.

Excellent C2 with Izzy last Friday - great way to start the weekend!I really liked the slower pace of her class. At first it was deceptively “easy” but then I realized that moving less quickly allowed for time to get into the poses. Thank you

Early morning class is a great size and both instructors I have had have been great too! Classes were very different, but similar enough to follow. Relaxing but challenging. I really look forward to waking up early on Sundays just for this C2 class.

Great class with Felecia as my instructor. Very knowledgeable and on-hand with adjustments and corrections as needed. I have only gone 3 times during these last 3 weeks to help my flexibility from strength training and endurance running. I have already noticed a huge difference and look forward to continue using CorePower Yoga to supplement my training.

Always an amazing experience. Dylan's C2 and Kit's sculpt classes are my absolute favorites... you feel so incredibly energized afterwards and the feeling does not wear off all day. Great for both getting your mind and body centered as well as kicking your butt for a great workout. Literally can't say enough good things about the classes, studio itself and awesome instructors there!
