Really awesome teachers. Every teacher has their own style but they’re all very good at what they do.

I have had a great experience at CP Yoga Uptown. All the instructors have something to offer. Each class is accessible, but also distinct to the specific teachers style. I’m sure I’ll be back eventually.

The space and the trainers are great that being said, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A MEMBERSHIP!….they make it nearly impossible to get out of the membership without charging you exuberant fees, if you want to do yoga here just pay per Class!

I’ve been a member at CorePower for about 6 months now and I absolutely love it there! They offer many different class types based on skill level and heat intensity. Most of the instructors i’ve taken class from are very knowledgeable and give great corrections for postures. My favorite instructors are BelleAime, Myles, Tessa, Ashlyn, Josue & Claire!

I was very excited to have a class in this location but I’m so disappointed about it. Instructor is great all good with that, but I didn’t like at all that the poor cleaning… studio floor was dirty dusty sticky, it doesn’t smell any good and I couldn’t enjoy the class because of that. I hope they put a little bit more of effort to the cleanliness

I usually go to the Uptown Studio as my second choice if their classes have better times. I went to Helen's class. The C2 class was okay, have been to better ones with better instruction and teacher guidance. The instructor was not friendly from the start. I received a text message at the end of class due to a family emergency. So I walked out of the studio QUIETLY and the instructor decided to lecture me about leaving early while people were in savasana. I didnt say anything because I was trying to leave the studio quietly. She was incredibly rude and insensitive. So disappointed she chose to humiliate me in front of other people.

My partner and I stopped in for our first class at CorePower while staying in Chicago for the weekend.

The space and amenities are amazing, but what really shined was the class lead by Joshua. He lead us though a beautiful mandala flow. The class was full of concise cueing, with many options to add on/modify, and it was perfectly paced. I highly recommend checking this studio out!

We'll be back next time we're in the area.

Súper clean and the staff were so friendly. Great space with two floors. The lockers and showers are very nice along with a huge inventory of yoga gear. Definitely going back to this location. I’m still new to yoga and this place was so welcoming and awesome.

The music was too loud in both of the classes I tried. Also, the music was strange for yoga- Broadway music... the teachers then tried to talk over the music so it felt as if they were shouting or straining their voices to talk over the music. The floors were caked with sweat from what it looks like not being deep cleaned in some time. The bathrooms were nice.

In my second class, the teacher did not ask me if I had any injuries, which is fine since I know how to make modifications. She tried to adjust me/correct me without asking to touch me- I told her about my injury. After class she let me know it was my responsibility to let her know about my injury. In my years of being a student and an instructor it's usually the instructors responsibility, but maybe things are done different here. The teachers knew their class material. All in all from vibe, sounds and cleanliness- it's not a place I would recommend for yoga.

Corepower Yoga Uptown (Chicago) provides everyone a sense of community and belongingness. I have been to many yoga studios and I didn't feel that connection with the teachers and fellow yogis but this studio knows their students and really connects with them on a human connection level beyond yoga practice. There is something to be said about the staff and teachers in this studio. They provide that welcoming energy that propels you into have such amazing practice.

Recently moved to Chicago and was looking for a studio. I tried their free week which is amazing because most studios barely offer a first class for free. I finally signed up for a membership and Paco was there to help. He was so nice and welcoming I was already excited about becoming a member. Then I took his class and was an even bigger fan! Everyone at the studio is super nice. I appreciate that the lockers have locks you can borrow, that there is showers if you ever need them and that everything overall is super clean. Definitely recommend!

I was just there today 02/11/2019 at approximately 12:45pm to purchase a package. As I walked in, there was a female employee in a sport bra with a bun up and another male employee on the opposite side of the counter talking (nothing related to work). The girl looked at me up and down and didn't even say hello, the male employee also looked at me but didn't say anything to me. I waited about 45 sec until I turned around and began walking out, the male employee said, "she was just finishing up her story , what can I do for you" but by then I was already out the door I simply smiled and said, "never mind." My point is that they were rude and careless. What kind of manager allows these people to run the yoga studio? I would never suggest going here , sad but true.

I think all of the instructors are very knowledgeable and there is a great variety of classes on the schedule. I also really like Sarah and think she does a great job not only with the studio but makes yoga more approachable from the mediation/mental aspect and doesn't take herself too seriously which makes her classes more playful. I also love her suggested intentions.

This was my first time at this location and will probably be making it my main studio. I did hot power yoga. The two staff members at the front desk were really friendly and laid back. The instructors name was JJ. He was very professional and attentive. I usually just do cross fit, and supplement with yoga. However this yoga class kicked my butt, but in a good way. I was in the mood to push myself today, and got exactly what I was looking for. I signed up for the monthly membership and am pretty excited to add this to my fitness routine.

I like the friendly and open staff. I have had great experiences with each instructor and each one has a unique touch. As a beginner to go, it is great to know that I am getting the attention that I need to challenge myself yet remembering my limitations. I also appreciate the emphasis of self-care that is promoted in the studio. This is just a great place to be.

Literally got there 1 minute after the class started due to traffic and their entrance door was locked. Class start time was 4:30, I was at the door 4:31! Their phone number wasn’t working either when I tried to call. It was very frustrating. Additionally before opening the entrance door I opened the studio door on accident and closed it right away to avoid disturbing the class then unexpectedly went to find the entrance door locked.... the instructor didn’t even bother to welcome me to join the class after being late for 1 minute... at that point I didn’t want to re-open the studio door to join an unwelcoming place! This studio is right by my apartment but I prefer the one on Lincoln Square, Nicer atmosphere!!

I went to the Uptown Yoga Studio in Chicago tonight to start my free week hoping I would love it!

Just a little about myself, I've been training in Yoga for years, and during the last 2, I've been training in pole fitness, movement, and contortion at the Chicago Academy of Pole and Dance where I had a $300 unlimited membership. I was a loyal client at CAPD, but they suddenly closed about two months ago. I became what my friends and I call a 'pole orphan.' I started looking for pole studio options but have not found one that meets my needs. Then, I saw Core Power Yoga studio close to home. I was so excited about seeing a studio that could become my niche once again!

It took me about a week to actually go to the studio. Long-story-short, I'm a doctoral student in clinical psychology. I'm originally from Puerto Rico where, as you may know, there's a humanitarian crisis after Hurricane Maria. My mom and nephew had to come last minute and stay with me at my small student hoping to at least be safe and have their basic needs met. After they arrived in Chicago, my mom became extremely sick, and I've spent all this week at the hospital. Finally, today I had some time at night to do some self-care and start my regular schedule of self-care because I love it but also because I need it. My nephew, who is 12, is staying with me, so he has to go everywhere I go as he is a minor. When I've been to other studios, it's never been a problem when others or myself have had guests or kids who have to wait in a lobby or waiting area, etc. To my surprise, this was a problem at the CPY studio. The staff told me that they couldn't do anything but that my nephew either go to Target and wait (again, he's 12) or I would just have to go. Three staff members were trying to explain to me (all talking at the same time) why they could not do anything for me (e.g., an exception) and have him quietly waiting at the waiting area watching his tablet using headphones. I really felt that they didn't care and that we were not welcome. I'm so disappointed because I really wanted this site to become my home studio.

I guess my expectations were too high. You see, when you have a studio in an ethnically and racially diverse community such as Uptown, you HAVE to culturally-tailor the services you provide so you could respond to the needs of people in your community. I've come to realize now that this studio may not be at Uptown to target Uptown's diverse population but just certain individuals from the community. Those may be privileged enough to have money to pay a nanny or not have family members who are refugees of one of the worst severe political, financial, humanitarian crisis of our times.

But you know what? It is your loss. You lost a loyal client and a good student. I hope you revise the studio policies to serve the community better and respond to ALL Uptown neighbors' needs. I know you'll do your best to keep yoga values aligned with your policies.

I love this studio for so many reasons and I’ve been going to CPY for 3 years now. They have a very flexible schedule for us 8-5ers, offering classes at 7pm and 8:30pm. Plenty of shoe cubbies and mats for your boots on snowy days. Three classrooms! The teachers here offer great suggestions on adjustments! The lockers and teaching rooms are well maintained. Also, I don’t feel like it’s competitive with your neighbor by any means. If you forget a lock, you can trade in your car keys or an ID.

I personally love the Monday night HPF with Kevin Mic. Sculpt on Tuesdays with Conor Mac – which can get crowded, but rightfully so, as his classes are very high energy. Or slow things down with a CoreRestore class at the end of your busy day (only at 8:30pm) to encourage muscle recovery.

BIG BONUS: free parking behind the studio. Street parking is free on Sundays.

BEWARE: There is a shoe klepto, someone took my BearPaw boots and left me her Target brand, Sonoma, shoes... so I had to be barefoot to my car, thankfully an awesome instructor drove me! Also, be careful on weekdays as they do ticket often! Bike racks are available right in front of entrance.
