Amazing experience at Crystal Lake Gymnastics!
We started about a month ago and I couldnβt be happier with the experience so far. I have two boys, ages 3 and 4, and they absolutely LOVE going to their Kinder Gym class every week.
Itβs the perfect activity for energetic little ones β they get to jump, tumble, climb, and explore in a fun and structured way. The coaches are so patient and engaging, and the environment feels safe and welcoming for all kids.
What really stood out to me is how balanced the class is β there are lots of girls too, and I love watching how gracefully and confidently they move around. Itβs inspiring and encouraging for both boys and girls.
Definitely a great place to build confidence, coordination, and burn off energy β weβre so glad we joined!

1. Lexi has poor customer service, several others as well. 2. They don't know how to effectively manage transactions and credits. 3. Little to no results. 4. My observation is poor engagement and oversight from coaches.
There's really one good coach I've really seen, I don't know her name but she stands out, positively engaged and interactive at all times. She's the reason I gave two stars, otherwise overall it wasn't much more than a "tummy time" experience.

Both my girls have gone here for 10 plus years. The coaches are amazing, if there is a problem they resolve it. I do want to say that you are all only getting one side of the story here and perhaps if you has both sides it might make a bit more sense . But regardless I will never take my girls anywhere else what they have learned here is invaluable.

I find that it is unfortunate that a child is caught the crosshairs of a dispute between a customer and an employee. At the end of the day, the child is the one who suffers. Unfortunately I will not be recommending this business due to the apparent way customers are treated. It is clear that the employees come first and the customer comes second when it should be the other way around. Please do better.

Vanessa would live here if she could. We have been with this gym for several years and we couldnβt ask for a better gym family. If you want the best coaches who truly care about your children and their success, look no further. They truly are a top notch, knowledgeable staff. π

It's unfortunate to think that only weeks ago, we came into this establishment with such a warm welcome to now writing this. My daughter started with coach Donna on pre team, who I can't say enough great things about to then coach Tina, and that's where it ended. My daughter would leave the gym on cloud 9, with her head held high. Until Thursday, 9/05, she was inconsolable from the mistreatment she received from Tina. *Note that not once did she complain that it was too much conditioning or that even though she did what was asked of her but because Tina "didn't see her" had to do it a 3rd time... she was simply mean. How does one quantify that feeling for an 8 year old? I'm her Mom. I believe her. There were other parents who experienced the same mistreatment that night and drove home with their child in tears and so they also complained. Keep this in mind, my husband took her that night. I spoke to Lexi (owner), who lmk she asked Tina to call me. IMO, that was not the best choice. It wasn't up to me to fix the issue. That's her job as the business owner to address my concerns as a customer with her employees and mediate the matter to come up with the best solution. My conversation with Tina didn't bode well after she didn't seem to think she said/did anything wrong, taking zero accountability and deflecting on everything I said to her. Yet because I defended my daughter's feelings and experience with Tina, now Tina's feelings were hurt, so as a result Lexi decided to justify her and sent me an email (not call) that it was "best to part ways." When I asked if this was final because that was an extreme decision, she said they have a zero tolerance policy for name calling (which I certainly did not do) and "drama." I was one of several parents who complained about that night, yet we were the ONLY ones let go. Really??! Please see the attached parent policy. Ironically, I was told there was at one time a physical argument between girls on pre team, yet not one of those parents/girls were sent an email to part ways. I'd certainly consider anything physical to be "zero tolerance" but I don't know, maybe they didn't "look" (you interpret that as you will) to be a threat.
As I mentioned I wasn't there that night, though someone claimed to see me in the parking lot talking to another mom about the issue. Now who's the "drama?"
I get it. It was easier (less cost/"drama") for Lexi to "part ways" than to fix the problem with Tina. I'm disappointed, and Lexi's decision was nothing short of IMO outright retaliation all because I defended my daughter. I trusted them for 6hrs a week with my child, and this is what we received in the end. I'll defend my child against anyone, any day as any parent I hope would do the same. This isn't right, but you be the judge. They sure were.
**what a coincidence too that there are 5 star reviews suddenly pouring in...π

I am appalled that a gym who seems to have such great reviews would choose to part ways with an athlete so suddenly and without a single warning. This parent defending her daughter is suddenly let go and that terrifies me because I was just looking at all the great reviews and looking to enroll my two children. I will gladly take my business elsewhere to avoid my own children being mistreated and made to feel shame. I would never be able to trust an establishment who will let an athlete go so quickly and easily without doing any sort of real work to get to the root of the issue. What a shame. Please do better so parents can feel that their child will be safe at all times. Parents should never be let go because of hurt feelings.

Our daughter has a lot of energy and gymnastics is the perfect outlet for it. She started in the parent and me program and has moved up to kindergym. We really appreciate the focused stations where the kiddos work on their skills and get in some exercise. We recently had her 3rd birthday party here and it was a total blast. Every parent came up to me and said how perfect of a party it was. The kiddos had the gym to themselves, ran themselves silly and then crashed in the party room for snacks. The staff was so attentive and kind and did an amazing job. Whether you come here for recreational sports or a birthday party, you'll be well taken care of.

We are very happy to be a part of Crystal Lake Gymnastics. Since joining 2 years ago, my daughter's skills have improved tremendously. The coaches are very talented, and instruct in a way to not only show what to do, but to challenge the gymnasts and make their skills better each time. I highly recommend Crystal Lake Gymnastics.

My daughter is 7 and loves it here. She is in the beginner gymnastics group and her instructor Tina is so kind and patient with all the girls. My daughter leaves each class with the biggest smile and canβt wait to go back again the next week. Oh! And cannot forget to stop by the office each class time to grab a lollipop from the basket! Definitely recommend Crystal Lake Gymnastics for your child. They take good care of everyone here.

The best gymnastics training center in all of McHenry County and Chicagoland! We have been a CLGTC family for more than 5 years! Both our daughter and son started in Kindergym, then advanced recreational gymnastics, and now both in the Competitive CLGTC Team. We have seen their fantastic progress throughout these years. The community and friends they have it has marked their lives forever. This alone is priceless!
Lexi, Sam, Lizzie, Sasha, and the rest of the coaches are awesome and the BEST! CLGTC is truly a family. They care for you genuinely. We canβt recommend CLGTC enough! #GoCLGTC

A few weeks ago, I brought my 3 year old here for her first kinder gym class and she was SO excited. This was her first time in a class like this, and she is a little shy and quiet, but she started following along right away. However, the young teenage instructor hardly paid any attention to her nor did she help her with the new skills (this was only Day 1 of the class). She hardly even showed any enthusiasm with all of the kids. Several times my daughter was left standing by herself, while the instructor assisted with other kids who were more familiar with the skills and have been in the class before. When doing activities like going over the bar and hanging from it, she did not support or explain the activity to my daughter (as in if she let go, she would have fallen hard). This made us quite nervous. At one point, our daughter was left in the foam pit for a few minutes and couldn't get out. No one was assisting her or paying any attention. That was when my wife went out on the floor and said something to the instructor to ask what was going on. The instructor told my daughter to "get out of the way" as another child jumped in. My wife showed frustration about ignoring her so much, and she replied, "She (my daughter) doesn't know anything," with attitude. We quickly pulled our daughter out from the class and got a refund.
I asked to speak to the owner, and I cannot believe how RUDE she was about this whole situation. No apologies were given, and while I talked calmly and reasonably with her, she multitasked with paperwork and seemed disinterested. I mentioned that maybe more support was needed with staff on weekends since she said weekends are "busy days," (as an excuse) and she replied sarcastically, "Oh please if you know anyone, please send them our way." Again, no apologies or empathy was shown as I left.
As a primary teacher myself, I cannot imagine "welcoming" a new student to my class by neglecting to consider their skill level and needs, having a poor attitude towards my students and parents, and showing an overall lack of professionalism. I can only hope that my daughter will still be excited to attend a different class at a NEW gymnastics center.

I signed up my 2 year old daughter for a little less than half a session which was 4 classes. She does tot classes and her coach is Coach Kera. Each day was different while my daughter was getting comfortable day by day with meeting new kids and getting comfortable with Coach Kera. Let me start off by saying that Coach Kera is great! She is very good with kids, patient with all the kids and gives them all attention. Some days were harder than others for my daughter but Coach Kera was always patient with her which I appreciated. Once one of our class was over, we were getting ready to go home, we looked over and everyone that works there was cleaning the area that we just used and disinfecting everything!! Linda works in the front desk and always greets you and your kid, makes you feel very welcomed. When we completed our 4 classes, we signed up for 10 more classes! Highly recommend this place if youβre looking to put your kids in gymnastics!!

My daughter has been going there for almost 3 years now, she loves it, the coaches are great, the price is reasonable and now that it switched owners its definitely a cleaner place, the only issue I have is the parking lot, kinda a mess picking up and dropping off, but I guess it's not their fault they have many students, gymnastics is a great sport to get your kids into, it will train your body to succeed in any sport, I would not hesitate giving it a try

I brought my daughter's for open gym and while the staff seemed nice it was not well organized. You had no where to check in or pay and no one seemed to want to help or give directions. While we did eventually find out who to talk to I can't help but be disappointed in how dirty the facility felt. Many mats were thread bare and worn. It seemed as though the floors hadn't been cleaned in a very long time and everything felt a bit old. When you have a facility with children, who are not the best a germ care, you need to keep things clean.

CLGTC is great for all types of gymnastics. They have open gym if you're just getting started. Their classes are well structured and create a fun, learning, and challenging environment. Children only move up to the next level once they meet all of their goals. The staff is very caring and professional, and their focus is on the children. The gym is large enough to have equipment for all levels of gymnasts, yet it's separated so the younger kids aren't in the middle of the older ones. Finally, they appear to make financially stable decisions so they can stay in business long term.

My daughter likes the classes but as far as gymnastics goes I felt like they don't teach them as much as they should or the amount of students per teacher in a 45 minute class is too much for just one coach. Especially for the age group (4/5). One activity they had was hanging mittons on a clothes line. Very nice coaches and everyone there is nice and professional I just wish they taught them more tumbling and cart wheels etc. And focused on that.
