I found Joe after looking for a trainer in the Northbrook area who would help make my training a bit more functional. I’d been lifting regularly for a few years and while I’d worked with trainers in small group settings before, Joe without a doubt stands out in not only his knowledge but his care for his clients. He listened to my goals of wanting to gain strength and struggles with things like knee pain. Since working together I’ve not only seen a difference in my strength but my understanding of training functionally and how to protect my body while hitting some aesthetic goals. On top of being an incredibly knowledgeable trainer, Joe is a great guy and that vibe is felt throughout the gym. Without a doubt one of the best out there and cannot recommend him enough to anyone looking to work with someone. Would give him 10 stars if I could!! Also I can do pull ups now!!! Thanks Joe!!!

I’ve been working with Joe for a few years now and it’s been amazing. He is very kind and motivating and very helpful. He gives great advice on anything you may need help with, working out, nutrition etc. It’s a very welcoming place where I feel comfortable and motivated. I’m a very reserved and introverted person but am completely comfortable working with Joe and being in this space because of the support and passion that surrounds me. Joe is always there when I need him and allows for me to come in whenever I need throughout the week. I’ve definitely seen improvements in my strength and confidence in the gym and in myself since working with him. I am excited to continue working out here. Overall it’s a great atmosphere and Joe as well as the other people there are very kind, helpful and supportive. Because of this I’ve been able to stay active and have found a passion for the gym.

My brother, and my fiance, and I have been training with Joe for the past 4 months.

We were looking for a trainer who wouldn’t blindly give us a generic list of exercises, but someone with a good understanding of physiology who could work around some of the back and wrist troubles my fiance was having, who’d be intentional about mobility, and checking for proper form. Joe’s background in biomechanics and excitement about all the particular questions we had was why we ultimately decided to work with him.

In the time we’ve been training with Joe, we’ve found that his instructions have been very helpful, giving cues that help with muscle engagement, modifications for accommodate my fiance, coaching on nutrition, and also great encouragement to want to keep improving. Watching all three of us get stronger has been really satisfying.

If you’re looking for a personal trainer who really cares about holistic health and someone who respects your goals/needs, we can’t recommend Joe enough!

Training with Joe has become a family affair! To date, 3 of my family members train with Joe. It all started A few years ago when I was concerned by teenage son wasn’t getting enough exercise and my friend highly recommended her trainer Joe. Fast forward three years and my exercise reluctant son happily heads to the gym 2-3 times a week. Joe intrinsically gets my son and has been such a positive influence in his life. About a year ago in preparation for a family wedding I decided to join my son at the gym. I told myself I would train for a month….but I got hooked! I am now going to the gym 3 times a week making this the longest snd most beneficial health kick of my adult life! My college daughter also jumps in on the action when she is in town. Working out with my kids has been so much fun! Joe is such a kind, good and decent man. He is so positive and encouraging. Having a personal trainer is a luxury- but the emotional and physical benefits my family has experienced makes it very clear that time spent with Joe is a good investment.

I highly recommend training with Joey! It has been a positive experience overall. He is knowledgeable about the muscle groups being worked on, the intent of the exercise and always puts safety first. He also suggests supplements and gives nutritional advice in order to make health and fitness more of a lifestyle. I’ve been going to Joe for about 3 years and it’s truly been a pleasure to work with him. He’s so knowledgeable about the body and nutrition, he will spend time with you to make sure each exercise is right for you, and he’s just fun to talk to.

During this crazy pandemic, he shifted his business to online. Thank god he did this because it saved me. Joe helped me get equipment to set up a home gym. I really appreciated that.

I HIGHLY recommend you start your fitness journey at D2 fitness with Joe!!! He is an amazing trainer and provides a positive atmosphere. I have not been to the gym in YEARS and Joe has made it fun and easy to get into fitness. Whether you’re just hitting the gym for the first time, needing a push to get back into a healthy routine, or are advanced and want to continue to build on your foundation than Joey with D2 is the trainer for you. I’ve had numerous trainers over the years and have been lifting to body build for 14 years. Throughout life we all get ailments and injuries and Joey is very knowledgeable on the functions of the body that he has helped me to be my strongest, while also correcting my weaknesses and helping fix ailments through knowledge of how the body works. I highly recommend trying Joey out. He trains me and my girlfriend sometimes together and sometimes separately and has great routines for both of us that are customized to what we want and what our goals are.

Joseph Barhoumeh is the best trainer! I am a cycle instructor and during quarantine I put on about 12 pounds and since then which is a few months ago I lost all the weight! I now weight 135 and continuing to progress! He is a great communicator and works great with me and my boyfriend as a couple since we may have disagreements about how to workout! Joey is by far the best trainer I have ever encountered and a great genuine person as well! I highly recommend him :)

I go to Joe for personal training with my soon to be husband. He is great. He listens to you and what you are looking for. Dedicated 2 fitness in Glenview has completely changed my life! I am a mom to a 6 month old and a 4 year old.
