Fit St. Charles believes that physical training should be personal - tailored to the individual, their goals and their fitness level. We offer personal training in either one-on-one format or in fun and motivational "coached" (up to 6 individuals per trainer) sessions. Our semi-private (coached) workouts take the best from strength and conditioning and personal training to deliver a small group atmosphere with personalized attention. Voted BEST gym and BEST personal training in the Fox Valley!

Yes, you can help build and strengthen bones after 60 with weight-bearing exercise, strength training, and impact and balance exercises. This combination of exercises is exactly what Jan provides at St. Charles Fit. I joined her just a year ago and have had a significant increase in my bone density. Jan's practice to progressive overload, which is gradually increasing weight and repetitions through lifting promote bone growth and strengthening. Most importantly, she motivates you to increase and she does it safely. I am not only building bone I am building a nice community of new friends that I look forward to seeing each week. Love her approach and highly recommend her.

Life changing!! At age 71 years, we started working with Jan the first of the year to support and improve our strength, flexibility and mobility. We LOVE our workouts!!!! Jan tailors each one to our specific needs and easily accommodates on the fly when we have particular aches or pains. She is the most knowledgeable coach we have ever worked with, and her passion for helping us achieve our goals is inspiring! Jan pushes us to the point of satisfied exhaustion...where we know we have done enough to do ourselves A LOT of good without undue suffering..with a bonus of laughing along the way. I am physically kind of lazy, which never bothered me until I hit 50 -- at which point I started to feel decades older and found myself spending much of my free time on the sofa (I have a job that requires sitting at a computer all day). After a stop-and-start sort of year, but for the last 6 months working out pretty regularly 3X a week for 30 min at FIT, I feel as though I've recaptured a huge part of my youth. No more am I dreading crouching down to look at something on a lower shelf while out shopping. No more am I avoiding doing simple things like cleaning out the garage or handling simple yardwork. I have more energy and more flexibility and feel competent to do physical things. I didn't realize until recently how much PAIN I was actually in because I was so inflexible and had so little muscle tone. Wish I hadn't listened to all those people who said it wasn't "worth" going to the gym unless you committed gobs of time. I really am indolent and made a truly minimal effort, basically just showing up, but it's made an incredible difference in my life and my mood just to be able to move easily. My only regret was not starting years ago rather than at age 54 (now 55). Jan is a wonderful instructor and offers training that is practically one-on-one in a relaxed atmosphere, but does "push" me enough that I feel that I've accomplished something. I really can't imagine NOT making time to work out in the future. Love the gym and love the people. The one-on-one sessions are great, too. Can't say enough about what a revelation it has been to feel good. It's improved my mental health too.

I love Fit St. Charles. I've been going to Fit since March, I started as a personal training client with Ryleigh (who is awesome) and transitioned to the MWF group sessions in May. I've never been more consistent with a training program and I really think that's because of how comfortable the team makes me feel. Personal training helped make sure I had 1:1 support while I learned the movements and regained confidence after spending a couple years out of the gym. They really focus on pain free movement, mobility, and safe but effective workouts. It's my perfect combination of strength and conditioning. I couldn't recommend the gym and the team more.

I have been working out for 30+ years in organized classes and gyms, and FIT St. Charles is a breath of fresh air! I love the semi-private model that Jan offers - I'm getting stronger with the focus on different body parts each session while also building a nice community of new friends I look forward to seeing each week. In addition, the TRX classes that are included are a bonus! And the Saturday drop-in class gets my weekend off to a fabulous start! Most of all, I appreciate greatly Jan's personal attention to each of us, helping us be not only stronger, but safer in each exercise. I didn't think I had anything new to learn in fitness and yet with Jan I'm learning something new in every class. This "gym" is exactly what I needed and I'm delighted that I joined!

I love my private lesson with Jan at Fit, started in February. She took time to understand my health challenges and tailors my workout accordingly. She pushes me do appropriate, yet challenging level of repetitions and workouts. She is always adding new elements as I get to certain level. And she works with my schedule. I enjoy my workouts with her. I have lost 12 lbs, look more toned per my family and friends, improved my stamina, balance and strength over the last four months.

Although I have been 'fit' most of my adult life, it wasn't until our first grandchild was born that I realized how important core and upper body strength are! That's when I met Jan at Fit. I've been working out with Jan for about 5 years (and 7 grandchildren) and I can honestly say it is one of the best decisions I've ever made for myself. The strength workouts and metabolic conditioning workouts target every area of your body, ensuring that those grandkids can be picked up, held and played with! I'm getting older AND stronger. Fit is a wonderful community of men and women of all different ages and abilities. The workouts are modified to help each person reach their goal. Jan is a compassionate and kind motivator. When a friend of mine asked what gym I go to, I started explaining Fit St Charles and realized what a unique place it is. Small groups to individual sessions this place has it all. Pre planned workouts provide a total body workout under the close supervision of our trainer Jan. By constantly correcting our form and pushing us I have to say these are the best workouts of my very long gym life. . If you truly want to get in shape in a comfortable, safe environment, I would highly recommend Fit St Charles.

I switched to FIT St Charles spring 2018 because I needed to healthy change after some injuries, and I didn't want a large intimidating impersonal gym. Jan is incredibly hard working & a very knowledgeable trainer. It is not a one size fits all gym - it is very personalized (if you want rows of treadmills go elsewhere). I feel good about how far my strength has come & I feel like I'm really doing something for myself that should also improve the aging process. I really enjoy the small group workouts and it has been a fun way to meet new people...and a central St. Chas location is awesome. Her noon circuit has been fun and allows me to squeeze it into a workable lunch hour since my evenings are often busy with kids. It keeps my energy up in the afternoon. Jan has a very genuine interest in her customers, when I walk in the door she looks like she's glad to see me and that I have prioritized myself for the next 30 to 60 minutes. Definitely give FIT a try!

I’ve with worked Jan for a little over a month. I had a stroke in January of 2021, and I went through numerous hours of rehabilitation. I needed to keep up with my exercise, but I was finding that I was reaching a plateau. Jan has worked with me on strength, balance, and endurance. She is kind, competent, and motivational. She met me at the level that I was able to function at and pushes me without pushing me too far. I have noticed that I am steadier on my feet, my balance is improving, and I feel better overall.

I started at FIT this past summer and Jan has been so helpful. I ended up having a terrible knee injury which even led to me having surgery. Through it all, Jan has helped me modify workouts so that I could still attend. She has been great at giving me exercises to strengthen my quad which has helped so much in my recovery. One of the best things about Jan, is her ability to keep you accountable. If I fail to get to a class, I know she's going to send me a text! Jan is great at motivating people and celebrating all successes. I can't recommend FIT St. Charles enough!

I joined FIT about 6-7 months ago. I hadn't been to a gym in about a year and was anxious because some gyms have a 'personality' that's a bit overwhelming/off putting. However, Jan (owner) and Anell (trainer) as well as all the members I've met have been friendly and welcoming. Everyone is there working towards their own goals, it's not a competition. This creates such a positive and empowering environment. The workouts are challenging, I am pushing myself much more than if I was working out alone or without a trainer. If I struggle with a certain exercise or series, there is always a way to modify it to achieve the best workout results without injury. I have seen significant improvements over the past several months. Highly recommend Fit St Charles!

FIT has been a breath of fresh air in my workout routine. I was looking for more variety in my workout and Jan delivered! Each workout has been different and challenging. Can not say enough great things about this gym. I joined years ago when they were in Geneva (I took a little hiatus). Now they have moved to downtown St Charles (closer to me). Beautiful and clean facility. Jan(owner), Stephanie and Anell are fantastic trainers. I really like the versatile workouts. I feel challenged but not so sore that I can’t walk the next day. That being said, they adjust the work out to your capability. They modify for injuries etc. They correct form. Great people at this gym, no fluff, no drama. I look forward to going and I’ve never been a gym person. This hits all the marks for me (and my 18 year old daughter who is an athlete and trains here as well….sometimes twice a day).

At 65, I decided to take care of myself and Jan is truly a blessing to me. She works hard to strengthen me where I need it and also accommodates for my arthritis and knee injury. She is so fun to work with and is great at communicating what and why we are doing something. She has made me a believer that you can be heathy and strong at any age. Geneva Fit has been a great experience from the get go! From even the initial inquiry and questions about their classes, Jan the owner sent back personal and quick responses (she even emailed me after my trial class to thank me for coming!) I have already felt very welcomed and comfortable. Jan is very present in her business and with her clients - someone who really makes the extra effort and it definitely comes through. The classes themselves are a great workout using strength, functional fitness and variety that keeps me engaged, and they are also offered on several days at several times. Lots of flexibility and choice and easy to select and book through their website/app. I also really like the smaller group setting, personal attention and support during the workouts. With coming back from physical therapy and getting back into my workouts, this place checks all of the boxes for me. I'm happy to support this local business and would highly recommend Geneva Fit to others looking for a new place to workout. I'm so happy I found Geneva Fit - thank you Jan!

I used to work out at a large park district gym so was unsure of Geneva Fit due to its small size. But the group workouts (usually no more than 8) are exceptional. Everyday the workouts are different and challenging. But they're also fun. I love to lift weights but never did deadlifts or clean and press until I came here. I also love to play basketball and Geneva Fit has helped my jumping and general fitness.

I have been going to Geneva Fit for a year now and WOW! I originally started with Jan to build some muscle and become more efficient in my running and biking. I began my experience with GenevaFit 3 years ago and have never been disappointed! I have never been one to go to a gym. I get very intimitated by the equipment, what to do, what to wear, the other people and my lack of athletic ability. Then, I found GenevaFit and have been so happy and proud that I found a place where I feel comfortable in my own skin (attire and ability), get the much needed personalized attention I need to get the best and efficient workout and duration of classes and schedule that fit into my own busy life. I cannot say enough great things about how I feel when I am taking the classes and how I feel when I am done. There have been times when I got to class and said to Jan, I don't feel like working out or I have too much to do, but after the class, I am so happy that Jan gave me the gentle encouragement to finish. As moms, we sometimes take our own life for granted and often fail to take care of ourselves. I am proud to say, I am still working out at GenevaFit and think it is one of the best gifts I have ever given myself. It is not only for the physical state but the mental state is also so important. This gym is fantastic! I love working out here, and even though I only started a few months ago, it really feels like home. Geneva Fit is an awesome place to work out. Jan is amazing and she always will customize a work out so you can do it. I started there last December. I had mild arthritis in my hip which caused me some pain. Since I've been a regular at Geneva Fit it rarely ever bothers me. Lastly it is always fun to work out here and that keeps me coming back!!

Geneva Fit offers a friendly environment to get a serious workout!! I live about 40 minutes from Geneva Fit. I almost want to move just to make it my regular gym. Jan is a very positive person who is passionate about what she does and she loves nothing more than making a difference in the lives of others. This is such a great gym! Both trainers are amazing, and are really good about checking form. The workouts are the perfect length, and are always varied so that you work your whole body. Jan and Cody are very encouraging and helpful. I've gotten much stronger since coming, and have improved my endurance. I recommend this gym to everyone I know in the area!

Just got back from Hawaii where I did some running, biking and swimming and the classes really helped me power thru the climbs during my biking and runs. Jan is AWESOME! Geneva Fit is a smaller gym with small class sizes, but it allows Jan to spend more one-on-one time with each person, which is very nice. She is extremely welcoming and very hospitable. I started going to Geneva Fit to lose weight, gain energy, and begin a healthier lifestyle. I'll also mention that I am legally blind and have had a difficult time in larger gyms because I never felt completely comfortable or welcomed. Jan is very accommodating and makes sure that I am comfortable and modifies different exercises to my skill level. Her workouts are not repetitive, which keeps me from getting bored like I have in the past with other workouts. You can tell that Jan has a true passion for what she does which is very motivating when you work with her. I have a few different goals for this year and I am confident that I'll be able to reach them because of Jan's help. Thank you so much!
