I unsubscribed from their text messages, only to receive another marketing message shortly after. This kind of disregard for customer preferences and basic opt-out functionality is unacceptable. If a company can’t honor a simple “STOP” request, it makes me question how they handle more important aspects of their business. Disappointing experience.

this place is a joke. My child rarely ever has the same teacher week to week so there is no consistency. They have no way to know if hes improved or what he needs to improve. I've probably paid them about 600 dollars and hes never even been moved up a level. the teachers don't know the students. its run like a factory. There's no time for the teachers to review notes or anything (not that they'd ever have time to write a note because goldfish doesn't allow the teachers a second to breathe between classes). the teachers are exhausted and do not care. there was one teacher who was exceptional and he quit. we found him on facebook and he now does private lessons with my son. I have about 200 dollars worth of classes left and it's not worth my time to even go. I'm gifting this terrible franchise the money.

My son attended his first Junior 1 class, and right from the start, the instructor dunked him underwater without checking his comfort level or speaking to us about his experience with water. This completely traumatized him, he was scared and refused to get back in the water.

I was extremely upset and immediately spoke to the front desk, only to be told I needed to wait through three lessons for him to “get better” with the water. I also asked to speak with the manager, but no one followed up. We tried coming back one more time, but my son still refused to get in the pool.

Eventually, I did speak with the manager, Emma, who said she had heard what happened but hadn’t called because she was “too busy.”

I’m very disappointed in how the situation was handled. I brought my son here hoping he would learn to enjoy and feel confident in the water. Instead, his first experience left him fearful and unwilling to continue. I expected more care, communication, and empathy from a place that teaches young children how to swim.

Fun and welcoming atmosphere, good instruction and levels. My kid went up to a pro recently and is a much more confident swimmer! Family swim times are also a plus!

We did have some communication snags at times and it seems like there is higher than usual staff turnover, including management.

We’ve had a fantastic experience at Goldfish Swim School! The facility is clean, warm, and absolutely adorable—such a welcoming environment for kids and parents alike. We enrolled our children in swim classes, and the instructors have been outstanding. They are incredibly patient, encouraging, and make learning to swim so much fun.

One of the standout features has been their flexibility in accommodating our scheduling needs, which has made it so much easier for us to stay consistent. Both of our kids have made rapid progress in mastering swimming skills and have each moved up a level in just a few short weeks. We recently hosted our son’s 7th birthday party with Goldfish Swim School. Despite an unexpected food delivery issue (with our own third party), the experience was fantastic. The decorations were wonderful, cupcakes were delicious, the kids had a blast and were still talking about it that evening.

The staff was incredibly kind and empathetic. Their professionalism and dedication to customer service put us at ease in the stressful situation. I highly recommend Goldfish for any gathering, as their exceptional service truly made the day special.

Our son also takes swimming lessons here and all I can say is that this has been a great investment. We are so proud of what he’s accomplished and are excited to see him progress even further.

We decided to enroll our daughters at Goldfish in Algonquin after attending a birthday party there back in December 2023. We were very impressed by the cleanliness of the facility and the layout. We immediately noticed the demeanor of the staff, how they interacted with each other, and how they interacted with the children. I appreciated that there are always lifeguards on the deck helping out when/where needed. When my younger daughter advanced to a class where I was no longer in the pool with her, she struggled with being on her own (and still continues to struggle sometimes). Coach Addison immediately came over to help out when she saw my daughter crying, and quickly made her comfortable and was able to get her into the water! To this day, my daughter absolutely loves her, and I appreciate the effort and time that Addison has taken (and continues to take) to help her acclimate to a new class and a new instructor. Both of my daughters have improved so much since starting at Goldfish - my older daughter is starting to swim on her own and use actual strokes rather than doggy paddle. We truly enjoy coming to swim every week and seeing our kids improve and have fun. We love it here and have recommended it to all of our friends who are looking for a swimming school!

This was a great place to take our 11 month old daughter. She loved it! The staff were very professional and kind, and the swimming pool is kept at 90 degrees, which made it very tolerable for our little girl. She didn’t cry once! Plenty of changing areas, restrooms, a station with blow dryers, and a few more convenient things.

We love Goldfish. We sign up for a few months at a time and our kids make great progress. They have a standard rating system before kids move up a level and the teachers work on the lacking skills each session. We love that the facility is clean and spacious, and the teachers are consistent from week to week. Definitely recommend.

Goldfish school of algonquin is amazing, all the instructors are very helpful and make every effort to help kids get confident with water and learn swimming. Front desk staff is friendly and always willing to answer any questions. Management is flexible and they always offer variety of packages which help saving in long run. Facility is neat, clean and bright. They have lot of fun events now and then. Family swims over weekends are a plus. Would definitely recommend this school.

Both of my sons switched over to Goldfish from Bear Paddle one month ago. My oldest did fantastic, but my youngest was super apprehensive to the point of not wanting to even enter the pool for that time. Week after week Addison S tried to help my son get over his fears of no longer swimming with a parent, and it finally paid off. I commend her persistence and effort when we didn't know what else to try. It truly shows that members are cared for, and that Goldfish only wants their swimmers to succeed. We are grateful for Addison and the rest of the staff at the Algonquin location who tried to help us through this situation

Our four children ages 10, 8, 5, and 3 have been attending for 7 months and they all have improved so much. My two oldest children started knowing the very basics and they are now at the pro level. The fact that members can attend family swim is very helpful for kids to practice their skills and also to have fun with the family. The staff is all well trained and are kind, patient, supportive, and encouraging to make sure all kids have a great experience every time. Knowing how to swim is a life skill that we want out kids to have from an early age and Goldfish not only teaches them that but also makes it fun.

Our son has been going to Goldfish since January. He had been going to a different school in Hoffman Estates. In the short time he’s been at Goldfish he has learned far more than the almost 2 years at the other school! Their system really works. I regret to have not started him at Goldfish but!!! This great new facility is amazing. Unlike other local swim schools we went to the facility is clean and vibrant! The air temperature is also very tolerable compared to other places where you sweat to death while watching your kids swim.
