We began taking lessons in 2019 at 6 months old. Over the past several years we have had so many positive experiences with the staff here. There are some very special people who work at GSS that have been instrumental in helping our child learn to swim and develop confidence in the water. Kaitlyn, Alberto, and Ashley were our favorite instructors and the manager, Emily is wonderful as well. The vibe is good and the water is warm. If youβre on the fence you should give it a try!

The swim classes did not utilize any known technique for getting children used to and safe in the water. There was almost no instruction whatsoever other than to carry children from the edge of the pool to a box in the middle of the pool and then back again. On occasion, they would get their face wet for a moment. A waste of money. Signed - Sad Grandfather

They talk about how they always keep their pool temperature so warm. However, our kids were subjected to frigid pool temps on three occasions. They were so cold I had to pull all out of the pool within 10 minutes of starting lessons due to the shivering they were experiencing. Enough was enough so I canceled. Now Iβm being told it was a known issue but parents and swimmers were not told of it prior to entering the pool. They are still charging me for the coming month despite freezing my kids without proper warning of a known issue. Beware of their contracts and know they hide issues letting your kids be the ones to have to freeze.

In September 2024, I enrolled my three children in GoldenFish. Initially, they were apprehensive when the water entered their eyes. However, after seven months of training, they have developed proficiency in swimming, underwater movements, and swimming on their backs.
I extend my sincere gratitude to all the instructors for their dedication and expertise.
Thank you

We absolutely adore Goldfish Swimming Arlington Heights! Our family has been attending classes here since our daughter was just 5 months old, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. Now that she's 3.5 years old, we plan to continue as long as she keeps having fun -- which she definitely does!
The highlight of Goldfish Swimming for us is undoubtedly the amazing staff. First, I want to extend my gratitude to Emily, the manager. She consistently creates a welcoming atmosphere. Her warm demeanor and exceptional communication skills make coming to Goldfish a true delight! Emily always goes above and beyond to ensure satisfaction, and it's clear she truly cares about her customers.
Next, each instructor at Goldfish Arlington Heights brings a unique energy and skill set that makes learning to swim both enjoyable and effective. We have a special appreciation for Emily, Caitlyn, Alberto, Sam, and Melak. Their patience, enthusiasm, and expertise shine through in every lesson, making it easy for children to feel comfortable and excited about swimming.
The facility itself is welcoming, clean, and well-organized, creating a fantastic environment for both kids and parents. The small class sizes ensure that each child gets plenty of attention, and the structured yet fun approach keeps our daughter engaged and eager to learn.
I wholeheartedly recommend Goldfish Swimming Arlington Heights to any parent looking to help their child learn how to swim. It's more than just swim lessons; it's a nurturing community where kids can thrive. Thank you, Goldfish Swimming, for making our daughter's swimming journey so special!

Donβt waste your money, I enrolled my kid and no progress at all. Their trainers kept on changing frequently, no track of learning. So think twice before enrolling. I enrolled my kid in BigBlue and learnt swimming without support in 4 sessions. U will see the difference clearly.

They have qualified instructors. My son has a batch size of 4 so itβs good that instructors can give full attention to each kid. They have safety standards in place too. Iβve always seen an instructor as life guard and making sure every kid is safe.i think these classes for young kids/ toddlers involve parents to be olin the pool with the kids but other than that all younger kids have independent training with their instructor. Iβm very happy with there service π

I've had two children excel through Goldfish Swim School, one moving on from Swim Force to full swim team at this point. The instructors are all wonderful and incredibly patient. I highly recommend the 2-1 lessons and take advantage of the makeup tokens. Manager Emily has been so supportive and has helped my girls build such confidence in the water! She does an outstanding job in her role and it's obvious that she's built such a positive culture at Goldfish. Highly recommend!

Here at Goldfish the teachers really go out of their way to teach our kids each stroke properly. They make sure they have a really good grasp before they get to swim force. Alberto in swim force does an amazing job with our children. He is dedicated in teaching our students, he gives them the drive and encourages them to keep trying even if they feel discouraged. He pushes them to their best ability. I highly recommend if your looking into swim lessons this is the place.

Our kids started over a year ago here.
Their ages are 1, 3, and 4.
The instructors are fantastic and care about each student!
Whenever there is an issue, the team assists each other to solve the problem together, so customer service is excellent! The team is friendly and willing to answer any questions or concerns!
Whenever their app does not work for you, always call instead if you want to change or cancel a session.
Their Team is fully trained to handle any situation.
The facility is clean every time we are there for a lesson. The pool is heated most of the time with plenty of hot showers. Plenty of seating for parents when watching their child during a lesson. Lots of parking in the parking lot, but beware of the Chucky Cheese next door will be alluring to your child.
Birthday parties are fantastic here as they handle most of the planning and set up!
They are very helpful to assist you with a successful birthday party!
Sad part is the lolly pops were complementary in the past which I miss to motivate my kids to swim. The lolly pops are now 25 cents and I donβt carry change anymore these days, so my youngest get disappointed when we cannot get a lolly pop and is not motivated to go swimming when he sees the fish bowl full of lolly pops. I have to figure out other ways now to motivate my kids like ice cream after their lesson.
When they change new instructors, they are great so far as they are trained and know how to inspire the kids to swim. FYI, It might take one to several lessons for the instructor to gain the trust from our children and be comfortable together for their lessons.
Overall, I recommend this location to my family and friends cause they have a fantastic team and facility that is safe for our family!

My son was 5 and he did not learn anything after spending over a year. Group lessons are of 25 minutes, over-sized class - 6 student, small lanes - so if you calculate each student gets no more than 4-5 minutes. Instructors are very detached from students - I don't blame them though because I think they might be overworked. More interested in making money than teaching kids swimming. Very good at marketing - for example, free candys, free chocolate, free story book with pencil, blackboard - everything is there not related to swimming. I hope they have put fraction of their honest interest in teaching kids.
When I discontinued my son's lesson with Goldfish swim school, he was demotivated of swimming. My son now with Big Blue swim school, and he has already swimming without support after a year.

We had a bad experience, do not recommend. During our last class, our instructor decided to let a new trainee take over our swim session. Our daughter was scared of swimming underwater and was crying, instructor put her with a stranger she had never seen before(happens often) and did not pick her up once, the entire swim class. The new trainee simply stood there for 30 minutes, did not know what to do, how to comfort her, did not know her routine, she kept reading into the her notes and asking questions, no soft skills whatsoever to handle that conflict and made no progress during that time. I was so uncomfortable watching this, that I asked to cancel right away, I was told that they will wave the 30 day cancellation notice and will refund the unused balance. No refund was issued and then the assistant manager on the phone said that no refunds are allowed and insisted I get a partial credit. I was so disappointed in the way our class developed that I had no intentions of going back. Why would I need store credit or a gift card? Very frustrating!! Teaching toddlers how to swim is challenging but we had normal expectations to see our child do incremental progress, build a relationship of trust with her instructor. A good instructor would get to know her students and learn each child`s rhythm, comfort level and fears ( not move too fast, too soon) , establish communication and not constantly look at the clock to see when class is over because child is crying. Should report them to BBB for not refunding money to customer.

I would not recommend taking classes here, the instructors are changing every month and the kids donβt have enough time to get used to them to learn something, my child was stuck in the same level for two! years! All the bathrooms are always occupied as people are changing there obviously up to ten minutes ( no idea why as the changing rooms are available), and the kids are jumping and waiting in the line to the bathroom. So learnt nothing - money waste, not going back for sure

Don't do it! My daughter was terrified of swimming and this program only made it worse. When I tried to cancel, they initially waived the 30 day policy, however, now I have a charge for this month. The assistant manager insists she can't refund and they keep offering me visit tokens which I have absolutely no use for. The fact that this company doesn't understand that my daughter is too scared to attend is not even being considered. I believe this corporate policy is causing incredibly bad customer service. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Stay clear of auto enroll classes! To Goldfish: these are children and the fact that you even have this policy is basically stealing and taking advantage of parents. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau.

The staff was great with my kids and I was honestly very happy with the lessons. However, due to scheduling conflicts and health problems, I had to withdraw from the class back in August. Since it was after the 1st I still had to pay for August and I totally understood and followed their protocol to make sure that I would not get charged in September. One of my children could no longer participate in swimming so now the one child that did had "makeup tokens" that I can no longer redeem because he is not enrolled? Now September they have charged me AGAIN! When I called to come up with a solution they tell me it's my fault when I followed their instructions! I'm very disappointed and feel like they stole my money. When I talk to them on the phone all I am told is that it's on the policy I signed, however when I spoke to the front desk in person about the "issue" I was given very different instructions leading me to believe otherwise they played me! I do not recommend this place at all they will lie to you just to keep your money!

We have two kids at Goldfish. Our youngest has gone from hesitant about being in the water to swimming freestyle and backstroke confidently and she improves each and every week. Our oldest came in as a developed swimmer and with Swimforce she refined her technique and increased her endurance. She is trying out for her first competitive swim team next week and feels super confident going in! Theyβve also been terrific with safety protocols during COVID which we appreciate immensely.

I enrolled my 2 year old daughter in 2 swimming classes to try them out. The first class seemed okay but the second class was just horrible! The instructor would get frustrated with my daughter when she would grab a toy to play or start to splash in the water and would tell her things like no stop even though it was only her and the instructor! I was really appalled how she was dealing with a 2 year old. When I went to get my daughter after the class she told her go to your mom and turned her face away from me and grabbed the next child that had a class with her. I was shocked honestly with the way she acted! I called the school to explain to them what happened and to let them know I had a bad experience but all they said was okay we will cancel your next class! They didn't even bother to apologize.
I definitely will not be coming back and will not recommend this place to anyone I know.

My daughter has been at Goldfish for over 2 years and loves it. She really has developed amazing swimming and treading skills by age 5, which is great since she loves the water. They are also really good about working with kids while said kids adjust to things like fear of water, adapting to new instructors, etc. In the younger years, it's not uncommon for kids to take a few lessons to develop trust or comfort with a new person around water, but they are SO patient and nurturing. They also have made adaptations to keep the current physical environment as safe as possible with distancing and other measures, while still providing the benefit of early swim lessons.

I am someone who believes in providing great customer service and treating customers with respect. Today, I canceled both my boys swim classes after attending this school since they first opened. I have 2 boys, 4 & 6. There is an instructor who has taught both boys. He always begins the lesson splashing with the kids, and becomes frustrated when the kids continue to splash during the lesson. On this occasion he was teaching 6-year-old, but previously taught my 4-year-old. My 4-year-old on this day was with a different instructor. He was having a hard time paying attention and listening, basically being difficult and distracting. As my wife went to get the 6-year-old out of the pool at the end of the lesson, the instructor tells her in a condescending tone that he could tell that they were brothers because he doesnβt listen either as he points to my 4-year-old. My wife was completely horrified and embarrassed as this happened in front of other patents. Anyone with a preschooler knows how challenging they can be at times, but to have a rude teenager call you out in front of other parents is ridiculous.
This incident aside it is time to move on from this place. Their program is overly regimented. For a year my 6-year-old struggled with only his back float. Each week they practice, and each week he gets the same feedback all the while never learning new skills, or advancing.
I walked away from $100βs of dollars in credits for makeup classes, but in the end, I canβt justify having my boys go back there for 1 more class.

The real time for the class is like 20 minutes. The switch of the groups takes up to 5 min and then they will spend last 5 minutes telling you how your child did. Another thing, if your child is already a swimmer, good to know that they always swim across, never along, so it is way too short of a distance to train well.

My son loves to be there. Amazing place . Warm and clean pool. Only one thing that I donβt like , when you go out from pool itβs very cold while you wear the clothes .

Excellent instructors, lots of class options, always available and friendly about any needed schedule changes. Both of my sons went from being afraid to even get in the water to being strong swimmers in less than a year!

We were somewhat sceptical going to goldfish swim school. Our son is 7months old and we were not sure it would be worth the money. It was such a great experience. We left knowing we would become members. It is such an inviting place and the staff are amazing. We were pleasantly surprised. If you are on the fence go to a free class and I can almost guarantee you will sign up.

Great swim school for my 2 year old! We've been going there since April and we love it. Now my son will go on by his own and an instructor. I do not worry, he loves going to classes. Everything is clean and neat, cute interior. Friendly instructors and receptionists! Understanding managers! I do recommend this school. π

We love Mr. Israel and the growth we have seen in our kiddos since starting at Goldfish! I love how they are learning real-life swimming skills so they can be safe (and have fun) in the water!

Great school! All the teachers have been great and are super patient. My son had advanced so quickly with the instructions he receives from his teachers. He loves swim school and is excited to go each week. They really know what they are doing here!

After trying the park district swim class, I have nothing but raving reviews of the Goldfish Swim School in Arlington Heights. The facility is clean and the staff is friendly. We love our swim teacher, Mr. Patrick, who is good with kids. I like that the class sizes are small and there are multiple life guards on deck so you feel very safe with your non swimmer being in the water without floatation devices. They teach the students a specific skill set in each class. I highly recommend this place!
