We have been attending Goldfish since my son was 8 months old. He is now nearly six. They have given the skills to swim confidently and not be afraid of the water. We began attending once the school reopen during COVID and we always felt they took caution to ensure everyone's safety in and out of the water. They continue to ensure the safety of our children's health. There isn't another swim school we would choose.

We appreciate Goldfish Swim School and are very pleased with their program. I signed up my 3 year old granddaughter for swim lessons. She would not put her face in the water and would say she couldn't swim. In 5 weeks she is puttibg her face in the water, jumping into the water, and now says that she is a great swimmer. I love the positive growth mindset and confidence that she is developing. Goldfish has a nice, clean, and warm facility. All of the staff are friendly, helpful, and best of all, wonderful with children. My granddaughter has enjoyed her instructors. The online app makes reporting absences and schedule changes super easy. I highly recommend Goldfish Swim School.

Goldfish has been an amazing experience. My daughter went from scared to enter the water to graduating Pro 2 as a confident swimmer due to the amazing programming and support of the amazing staff. We tried other swim lessons and Goldfish was the best experience and had the most success. I would recommend Goldfish to anyone with a hesitant swimmer!

Coaches and staff are fantastic! Girl who tells parents that their child has moved up has to tell parents to stop at front desk to get them in their new class. She hasn't been telling any of the parents for the last 2 weeks.

I had previously enrolled my son in another swim school, but unfortunately, he never progressed beyond Level 1. I had heard about Goldfish Swim School before but assumed it would be just like the rest. That changed when I happened to meet one of their employees at my workplace. She took the time to answer all my questions thoroughly, and that positive interaction encouraged me to give Goldfish a try.
I ended up registering both of my kids, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The staff has been incredibly flexible when it comes to scheduling, which is a huge help for a busy parent. What impressed me the most was how quickly my oldest started improving—he leveled up within the first month!
The program is well-structured, the environment is friendly and professional, and most importantly, my kids are excited to go. I’m really happy we made the switch and would definitely recommend Goldfish Swim School to other parents looking for real progress and great service.

Right trom the start, employees like Caleb were so very friendly and helpful. Your Mundelein facility is clean and inviting for all.
Fish, palm trees, tropical music, bright colors, good changing rooms, attentive guards and a great set up for watching top notch instructors teach our kids is why we chose Goldfish.

My daughter used to be so scared of the water and hated to swim. Since starting here, 2 lessons in, she is no longer scared and looks forward to her weekly classes. They really care about the swimmers here!
Edit: all of the instructors are fantastic but a HUGE shout out to coach TJ. He really does go above and beyond for the swimmers. Coach Goose is all great! It’s definitely worth it to come here as we come from about 40 min away.

I don’t usually go out of my way to leave a google review simply because I’m a busy mom with the best intentions but not great with following through. I can not express how impressed I am with goldfish swim school-mundelein.
We have had to change our lesson times so we’ve met a few of the instructors and they all have been enthusiastic and great with the kids.
Tonight my youngest was having trouble with getting in the pool. As I was wondering how I would be able to make her more comfortable, I was approached by a very observant manager (Jimmy) who went out of his way to ask what’s wrong and he took our very silly accommodations very seriously and immediately took actions to make my baby feel more comfortable!
Shout out to Brittany as well! It’s obvious this place put the kids first!

We’ve had an amazing experience at Goldfish! From the moment we signed up, we’ve been consistently impressed with the professionalism, patience, and care the instructors show. My child has made remarkable progress in just a few months, and the confidence they’ve gained in the water is truly heartwarming to see.
The staff is not only highly skilled but also incredibly encouraging and supportive, creating a fun and safe environment for kids of all skill levels. The lessons are well-structured, and I love how they focus on both technique and water safety in a way that’s engaging for the kids.
The facility is clean, well-maintained, and has a positive, energetic atmosphere. The class sizes are usually 2-4 students, allowing for individualized attention, and we really appreciate how the instructors take the time to ensure each child feels comfortable and motivated to learn.
Whether your child is just starting out or ready to take their swimming skills to the next level, I highly recommend Goldfish! It’s a wonderful place where kids thrive, have fun, and develop a lifelong love for swimming! The events they host for families are just a cherry ontop of a wonderful experience here. A very special thank you to everyone who’s made our time here extra special: Claire, TJ, Destiny- we appreciate your hard work and dedication!

Just love this place! My kids have made such amazing progress in their swimming skills in such a short amount of time and they always love coming! Swimming is such an important life skill... And so essential for my kids' safety. The teachers are so nice and really know kids! The class sizes are small and the kids get a ton of swimming time! The place is always clean and so organized.... Really well run! Brittany and Kim are always smiling and ready to help at the front desk. No matter our scheduling questions, they're always happy to help. It's just a really nice professional place and I've recommended it to so many friends. 10/10!! :)

The teachers are friendly and attentive. I personally had a bad experience with management. I tried getting a hold of the manager Amanda for a few days and didn’t hear back from her even though I was promised a call back 2 times. As for the swimming lessons, my 2 y/o son has gained confidence going into the water but as for my 4 y/o daughter, I didn’t see much progress and they were taking classes for approximately 3 months.

I have a bad experience with management at Goldfish back in the summer of 2022. I dropped the class in person, got a confirmation slip, and was still charged. I spoke to multiple people at the time and was told the charge would remain on my account even though I had a paper receipt of my drop request within the allotted timeframe. After some time passed, someone reached out to me to let me know some management changes had been made and the charge from my account was removed. I re-enrolled my daughter about 5 weeks ago and her class has been great so far. She loves her instructor, Cana, and her swimming skills have progressed a lot in a short while. Cana is always very attentive to the girls in the class. She seems like a great instructor and I’m glad my daughter has been learning a lot in her class.

I called several times because I needed help transferring a class but they never answered the phone. I added the class and paying $30 for it on the app and ended up with the original class and the new class. I decided to let them know the next time I went in. The day before we went in, I was charged the full month for the original class ($111) and the full month for the new class ($94). The next day when I took my son swimming, I told them about it and she only gave me the refund for the full month of the old class ($111) but did not give me the refund for the $30 for adding the class instead of transferring it like they usually do. She said “if I were you I’d take the $111 instead of the $30.” I was shocked at her response! I paid for something I shouldn’t have because they never pick up the phone and she wants to give me that response!?? I hope no one has this problem. It’s very frustrating. Also, on my account there are some towel charges. Two towels were purchased and put on my account by my kids father. They charged my account without my consent. My kids father and I are not together and not in a good relationship. I understand they don’t know that but their job is to ask if the person making the purchase is the account holder and check if they’re authorized to put the payment on the account. I don’t even know if I should let them know about this considering the response I got about the class swap.

Observed one the older lifeguards eating while in the pool when children are swimming.
Doesn’t seem like the appropriate or professional thing to do. Hope this gets corrected by someone who doesn’t work here on the daily basis, because the staff even spoke To her while she was eating and said nothing about it.

So disappointed in GFM. Customer service has really gone down hill. And I know other parents feel the same way. Quality of lesson has also gone down hill. Lastly cleanliness is poor. TMI …dirty pads in the changing rooms tucked behind the bench( which shows that they don’t clean throughly like they say they do) and we found a knife at one point ( again showing they don’t clean very well). I would consider another place before going here. If you would have asked me 8 years ago when we first started I would have for sure vouched for there location. But today I cannot.
We have 4 kiddos we will go elsewhere.
The GM Jimmy did a very poor job of communicating with us about ending our time there and our concerns.

My kids have been swimming here for years and we have always loved the staff and the program! However, our appreciation for their program has grown even more since one of our children was diagnosed with a seizure disorder. I talked to them on the phone about her diagnosis and they reassured me of their safety procedures and told me to talk with the deck supervisor when we arrived for our next lesson. The manager and the supervisors all came and spoke with me, took notes on what to watch for, and “flagged” her to keep a close watch on her. They have a lifeguard stationed right at her lane with extra eyes on her at all times. They reassure me all the time that they know to keep a close eye on her and they’re fastidious about keeping her safe! My respect, gratified, and admiration for them is immense and I would recommend them to anyone with kids! It also helps that my kids are all growing as swimmers and truly love their lessons! 😊

I picked this swim school because of all the amazing reviews, however my experience wasn’t so great. The staff was nice but very disorganized.
Class sizes are about 4 kids per class and in my opinion that’s to many kids, especially when you have a kid in your group that is a little more energetic or a kid that like to misbehave. We also had trouble with my sons class schedule when my son moved up I had to fight with the front desk to get him on a day and time that worked with our schedule (they told me the only time open for his level was a Wednesday during the school day, and when I talked to a different staff member they informed me that this wasn’t true). I believe because of that interaction my child must of been flagged. After this incident, my child’s swim instructor stopped helping him completely. You could see him physically working with the other kids and giving other kids corrections but the instructor refused to help my son. I went to the front desk and complained but they did nothing. So because of this we chose to go to a different swim school (Foss) and they are actually working with my kid and giving him corrections and helping him grow!

10 STARS!! Our kiddos finally graduated from Pro-2!!!🥰🎉👏💃🏻 They were lucky to have some of the BEST coaches in the world!! We’re beyond grateful for you!
Goldfish (this location) has been a wonderful experience for our three children. We have had our three children in this location for over two years 🤔 now and we have experienced many different instructors. Most all of them have been a pleasure to work with. Each instructor has their own different teaching style but still all very professional. We love the flexibility of being able to schedule their lesson when it works for us. We also love how our kids can be in the same class as long as they are in the same level. They are very patient, positive and very professional. They maintain the pool well. We would totally recommend this location to anyone who wants to teach their kids how to swim.

This is the worst swimming place I’ve ever been too. My son came from another swim school, due to a change on my work schedule, and he regressed instead of progressing... seems like instructors are trained to limit their independence so they pay classes forever... they hold the kids at all times, and I’ve tried several instructors and only one was able to deliver a good quality class... so I asked to have my son scheduled both classes a week with her and they could never get it right. Once the changes were made and “confirmed”, I noticed at day/ time of his new classes that they never made any changes ... two weeks in a row... they simply put him into another class with another less than average “instructor” just to fill the gap and “it is what it is”... then the next week I called ahead, because I knew that was a huge chance that they had messed up on that as well... and bingo!!! That was another “misunderstanding” and they just threw him into a class that was at full capacity just to fill the gap... they said that he was the 5th kid in the 4 student limit /class, but there was 2 instructors.., well, all the “second” instructor did was stay there to take out space that was already crazy enough...would do nothing while Haley would work with 5 kids!!! I would not recommend this place even if it was the only place left in Earth. Disorganized, unprepared instructors, expensive for the “service” they “deliver”. If you are ok with mediocre service full of smiley faces, that’s the place for you.

Our 3 year old has been coming to Goldfish since he was 6 months old! Our experience has always been positive! From the initial trial lesson to booking classes and even family swim times. However, to us, the best of the Goldfish experience has always been the teachers and staff! Miss Salma is amazing! She is beyond patient, energetic, and caring! Miss Berni and Miss Bri have always been beyond helpful and supportive also! We recommend Goldfish to our family and friends because of the clean facility and the great staff! Keep up the great work!

I think this is a great swim facility for very young kids (under five). My five and a half year old son, has been going here for eight months at 30 minutes once a week in a class of 4 total kids. He has learned to like the water, trust his teacher, go under water, and is starting to work on basic swim concepts. I think he is ready to switch to a different swim facility now to really focus on the swim basics as I realized recently he doesn't even know how to flutter kick while holding his hands along the wall. At Goldfish each class is confined to half of one swim lane (a swim lane is across the width of the pool and not the length) and there's no room to really swim with a teacher and four kids crammed into each section.

We tried a couple of local places for swim lessons - none can compare to goldfish. This place is FOCUSED on swimming. No distractions for your little ones. The pool area is warm and inviting, and the swim instructors are friendly and patient. Highly recommend!!

Nice set up and pool area is very clean. Love my daughter instructor Tahylor! She motivates my daughter and encourages her that she can do things. They also give out ribbons for milestones that they hit.

Very confusing booking system! Multiple people try to book my daughter to a lesson and the availability dates one person gave did not agree with another. I then decided to book online and made my payment and later received a call saying I’ve booked via phone for another date. What’s wrong with your system??
5 star to the lesson, my daughter enjoyed it and very friendly coach

I really like sending my kid to goldfish. I appreciate the care that the instructors take in the kids. The only downside is the need for early notice to skip any classes. Its not always possible to give an early notice. Kids do get sick in the last minute. I would like goldfish to be liberal in this aspect.

I can't say enough about Goldfish in Mundelein. One of my kiddos struggles with anxiety and I am so amazed by how far above and beyond my expectations the teachers and staff have gone to help her work through her fears and build trust.
Kristie Leibfritz, the General Manager, is outstanding. We decided to try Goldfish's jump-start program over Spring Break. During the first lesson, Kristie saw the emotional struggles my daughter was experiencing and actually jumped in the lane to give her one-on-one attention so the teacher could focus on the rest of the class. My daughter was able to settle, the rest of the lesson was a success and she was excited to come back the next day. I thanked Kristie excessively and explained that my daughter gets overwhelmed at times, but she reassured me that I need not worry - that's what they are here to do.
I went home hopeful but a little worried that if her anxiety continued they were going to tell us we needed to do private lessons. However, the next day I was astounded to see Kristie had pre-arranged for a second teacher to already be in my daughter's lane. This meant so much to me...she was able to anticipate my daughter's needs so she felt as comfortable as possible before she even got in the water. Kristie even stayed near the lane to cheer on my daughter by from the side of the pool.
We were so impressed by every aspect of Goldfish -- the fun environment, the warm pool, cleanliness of the facility, the friendly staff and personalized attention -- we immediately signed both kids up for weekly classes after the Spring Break session ended. Kristie took the time to brief my daughter's new teacher, Amauri, about how best to work with her and the experience has been better than I could have hoped. Amauri is incredible...she is so kind and reassuring, but also knows how and when to push. And if my daughter gets overwhelmed, another teacher magically shows up in her lane to help Amauri out. My son's teacher, Citlali, is also fantastic. She keeps him laughing and smiling the entire class. Three months later, every time Kristie sees my daughter, she takes the time to call her by name and praises her on how far she has come. This really makes my daughter feel special.
It may seem a little more expensive than some other programs, but my kids have learned more in 3 months at Goldfish than they have in 3 years elsewhere. The socio-emotional support alone is worth every penny. Thank you Mundelein Goldfish!

Love the teachers and staff. They are friendly and engaged and seem to really care about the kids! Having been at other places, this one does very good techniques and seem to really care about the progress. Can't be happier with Goldfish!

Our son has been attending Goldfish for almost 2 years now. He loves jumping in the pool and showing off what he can do each and every week. We had our ups and downs when there was major turnover with the instructors, but now that everything has settled, he is progressing rapidly again. He has learned independence, patientence, and how to survive in an emergency. Being able to swim all year helps retention, so he doesn't have a 6 month layoff to forget everything he's learned. Price is a bit steep, but highly worth it IMHO.

We had a lot of ups and downs with our 5 year old's progress and we almost stopped the lessons last fall because we are not getting the results we expected...but after a few schedule changes and a mix of instructors, we finally found Mr. Caleb who is just right and really challenges and pushes our son, so we are very happy with his progress now. Overall, it is nice facility with a great staff. We want to start our younger son, but it is a little too expensive for both kids.

The teachers are great! My son was afraid to put his face in the water after being in several other swim classes at other locations. Within a few sessions of being at Goldfish Swim, he not only put his face in the water, but he LOVES swimming. It's hard to get him to leave after his class. In a short time, he's gone through almost all of the Goldfish Swim levels and wants to be on the recreational swim team! Thanks Goldfish Swim!!!! :)

Their systems are not up to date for make up classes. Both my daughter and my son are in the same classes. As we are travelling, I called and cancelled some of their classes for both of them. However, when I scheduled the make up later, I was told my daughter has 5 makeup classes and my son has zero. I explained that I always take two kids together to the swimming classes. There is not possible for them to have different number of classes. However, they said that they have to reply on their systems and my son will not have any makeup classes. This system is not very up to date. So make sure that you triple checked the number of make up classes you have.

The quality of instruction varies widely among instructors. One instructor that my son had was fantastic! He individualized lesson so my son made fast progress. That instructor was changed, and the instructors after that were mediocre. The same exact lesson is done each time, regardless of how the student has progressed (e.g. starting with a float bar, even though a child can swim unassisted). Little classtime is spent on what the child needs to work on to move up a level. Instructors could easily individualize the lesson so each of the 4 kids in the class work on what s/he needs to practice, but this is not done. Quite frankly, I think the instructors don't remember what that student needs to work on because they work with so many kids and the instructors change classes frequently. The facility is very nice, clean, and friendly. My son had fun and loved his instructors, but he didn't improve.
