Gold's Gym Normal Location

There are constant issues with there ability to keep hot water in the Men's Locker Room. At least once a week I am have to go without a shower after a workout.

Just last week they changed the cleaning schedule of the Men's locker room, but didn't put the notification out on social media. I drove all the way in just to find out I wasn't going to be able to workout.

There is often a lack of cleaning supplies to be able to wipe down machines after you're done. There used to be three cleaning stations on the main workout floor. This was reduced to two. Sometimes when an order for paper towels for cleaning the machines are forgotten, they just put cloth towels for you to reuse on equipment.

The Gold's Gym Express by the Airport is in much better shape, but I work too far from it to make it over my lunch hour. My recommendation would be to go there.

Redundancy. This and the other Gold's express have no decline press options. The main Gold's has two. But this gym has multiples of many things and is missing some key workouts. Get rid of a few treadmills and stationary bikes, one of the redundant chest press or an machines and get a decline bench press machine or bench.

I love working out but lately I havent wanted to. The TVs need replaced, they all have bad pictures, a lot of the weight machine's have torn materials so they dont get cleaned properly, the place just seems dirty like they dont really clean anything above the equipment. And even some of the equipment looks dirty. The placr just needs a revamp from top to bottom. And with what they charge it shouldnt be a problem.

I have been to several Gold's Gyms through out my travels.....this is the first time I have ever encountered any problems with visiting a Gold's. The staff implies that you can't use the facility and tries to brush you off to another Gold's location. They won't inform you if you can upgrade your membership for their facility or offer any temporary passes to workout. If you are visiting the Bloomington area for any reason (even if you have a Gold's membership) this is not the gym for you!!

This is the cheapest gym in Bloomington-Normal. That is not a reflection on the quality though. It's brand new so all the equipment works great. I really like that the weight machines have directions in case you're not 100% sure how to use them. All the people that work there are very polite. I've watched a couple movies in the work-out theatre. It's pretty cool. There is only one downside, but you'll get this at every gym you go to. Some people don't clean off the equipment after they use it (even though spray and papertowels are easily accessed no matter where you are). It may look like there is a lot of parking, but somehow the lot always seems to be full. Even though we're all going to the gym to work out and be fit, that doesn't stop people from driving around for 10 minutes waiting for someone to back out and get the closest spot to the building.
