I joined KickHouse through a two week offer and after one class, I signed up for the monthly unlimited classes membership. John, Tessa and all the teachers, plus the feeling of camaraderie with the other members, has supported, motivated and guided me along my individual workout journey. In just two months, with an average of three classes a week, Kickhouse has brought me to a different level physically, mentally, and spiritually. If you’re looking for a challenging workout that teaches you the basics and then some of Kickboxing with a tough, fun workout, I highly recommend Kickhouse.

I loved my experience at Kickhouse! I took classes with Coach John and Tessa, they’re both awesome. From the first class, I felt super welcomed. Even as a beginner, I never felt out of place because everyone there is really supportive and helpful if you’re struggling. The community vibe is amazing!
Unfortunately the studio is a bit far from where I live, so I couldn’t keep going long-term. But if you’re in the area, I 100% recommend checking it out. They have great deals, and your first class is free!

I love this place! I took the 2 1/2 week trial for $22 and it was massive. I had unlimited access during that time but the workouts were so intense I could only do 3 days a week. I felt strong and like I really accomplished something!

This is a fantastic studio consisting of a friendly workout community. Coaches are great at walking you through basics and helping you build a foundation if you’re a true beginner. As you develop your skills, they have a ton of advanced skills to offer. There’s always something new to learn. The only thing you should worry is that you may get addicted!

It has been a little over a month that I have been coming to Kickhouse PR and I am officially addicted . I lost weight, inches and gained confidence and a new community . If you are looking to get rid of the stresses of the everyday life, look and feel better and make some friends- this place is for you. Highly, highly recommend!

I just tried my first class here and it left me sweaty, tired and beat but super happy to have tried this place. The class is very intense but doable. I workout almost every day and this workout still kicked my butt.
There was one thing special about this particular school more than any other place I have tried and it is that the instructor, John, knew everyone by their names and made everyone feel seen, welcome and comfortable.
I cannot wait to go back ( after a day to recover :) ) and do it again. Thank you, John, for your hospitality and for an amazing class!

KickHouse changed my life! Truly! I started here about 6 years ago, just after having my son and I was dealing with PPD. I was terrified to even try, but I talked myself into walking in.. SO grateful I did. The first class kicked my butt! Yet I still ended up signing up because the class was so electric, from the instructor to the music and the vibes from other members. Best decision I’ve ever made! I started going 1-2 times a week and now I go 4-5 because it’s the best workout! The more I came, the more I got to know other members and coaches and now it’s like walking into my second home! They offer a variety of classes: ClassKick, PowerKick (more advanced, different techniques) and Circuit Kick (strength and kickboxing).
I love this gym because the instructors practice what they preach (or teach!)! In any class you are likely to see an instructor working out because it is a genuinely good workout and fun! My favorite part of being a member is the monthly DJ night! Once a month they have a DJ playing for class and all the instructors come and teach together and then members hangout before/after the class and gives everyone an opportunity to get to know one another!
No other place like this! HIGHLY recommend! Thank you KickHouse for giving my the courage, confidence and strength I never knew I had!! 🩷

I've been a member for about 6 years or so now and I also used to be a coach. Liked it so much even after I got a new job, I just couldn't stay away. If you're looking for a kickass workout with a friendly community, look no further. Kickhouse welcomes all people no matter the experience level. If you've ever been curious about learning kickboxing technique but we're too nervous to start, come take a class! The majority of coaches have some sort of fighting experience and you can see it when they teach. It's all cardio kickboxing but you will learn REAL technique. They offer kickboxing, power kick (full hour more intense classes), and circuit kick (kickboxing and strength training hybrid) all while doing it in an environment that is rooting for your success. Come give em a try!!

As someone who's tried every workout imaginable, Kickhouse is by far my favorite. I have been wanting to try kick boxing for a while but have been nervous because I didn’t know what to expect. I am so glad that I decided to take a chance on Kick House. Just had an awesome 1st session! Everyone was so nice. The coach, Matt really cares and makes you feel very welcome. They both do! At first I felt intimidated because I really didn't know what kick House was about and as soon as the session starts that all went away. Everyone is there doing their thing and getting a great workout without embarrassment or Intimidation. I definitely signed up, can't wait to go back!

I took my first class today with Matt as the instructor, and it was both incredibly fun and intense! The workout really pushes you to your limits—in just 45 minutes, you get so much done that it feels like a much longer session. Matt is also great at showing you proper techniques and making sure you're doing each exercise correctly, which makes a big difference. It’s a high-energy class packed with a variety of exercises and sets. Definitely a great workout that keeps you challenged and engaged the whole way through!

I attended KickHouse in Park Ridge back in 2020, hoping it would be a great place to start my kickboxing journey. Unfortunately, my experience was not only disappointing—it was life-changing in the worst way.
During my very first session, the instructor insisted I kick a certain way, correcting me rather aggressively instead of offering proper guidance or ensuring I was performing the movement safely. I trusted his instruction, but during that same session, I ended up completely tearing my ACL. I was in excruciating pain, crying and shocked that such a severe injury could happen so early on.
What hurt even more was the instructor's lack of empathy or concern. When I returned with MRI results confirming the full tear, he seemed shocked but indifferent—there was no real acknowledgment or accountability. At 30 years old, after a lifetime of playing basketball and volleyball with zero major injuries, this was devastating.
One important thing to note: you shouldn’t be wearing socks during class due to the mats, yet this wasn’t mentioned or enforced, which may have contributed to the injury.
This experience left me with a long recovery process and deep regret. I wouldn’t recommend this place to beginners or anyone looking for a safe and supportive fitness environment.

I'm 62 years of age, I have two driving jobs right now so I drive around 10 hours a day. I'm looking for fitness experiences where I can do a lot of different movements opposed to just lifting weights.
Kick House was a great first time experience with full support from Instructor Mathew. Group members were friendly and appeared to be at different levels, the studio was very neat and clean. Workout was intense but I was encouraged to go at my own pace. I was challenged but felt very comfortable.
Enjoyed the music, having my own punching bag. I Appreciated the variety of warm up exercises, push ups, sit ups, planks, burpees throughout the workout and of course punching, kicking and foot work.
My biggest challenge is scheduling time because of my jobs but I differently want to continue even if it's a couple times a month untill semi retirement.
Differently would recommend Kick House especially for Baby Boomers life myself and anyone who is looking for an amazing workout experience.

This is a great place for boxing, kickboxing and overall training and conditioning. The staff are kind, helpful, attentive to form, committed, and certainly skilled in their trade.

Prior to joining Kickhouse in Park Ridge, I was very intimidated at the idea of doing something that was completely out of my comfort zone. But after attending my first class with Coach Matt, I knew I made the right choice of putting myself out there and was happy to get the chance to attend more classes whenever I could.
This gym has been nothing but motivational and challenging (in a positive way) and has genuinely helped me gained confidence in believing that I am capable of doing anything. Both the staff and members are so supporting and friendly and I can always feel that the coaches want nothing but for you to feel accomplished and proud of yourself at the end of every class, which are always so upbeat and energetic.
I definitely always come out of every class feeling a lot better both mentally and physically and I’m glad that my first introduction into kickboxing was through this place.

I’ve been with Kickhouse for about 4 months. A friend has been encouraging me to attend for a long time and I’m so happy I finally decide to check it out. I signed up for a 3 month membership and it was a no brainer to renew my membership. This journey has been an amazing experience. I’ve done all sorts of workout routines, but never anything like this. Being a part of kickhouse, I’ve been able to challenge myself, get healthy, and be part of a community looking to do the same! Even though the workouts kick my butt, I look forward to each session because it’s my time to focus on myself, clear my mind, and reset for the day.
I love that each class is different even if you attend a class with the same instructor. You go at your own pace, can utilize modifications depending on your fitness ability, and if you’re just starting they help you so you feel comfortable. They have multiple instructors with different styles and expertise and all are awesome! Everyone is welcoming, friendly, and supportive.
I highly recommend this place if you’re looking to challenge yourself, have fun, and get fit! The gym is clean and well maintained. If you have even a small thought to try, come check it out!

Kickhouse Park Ridge offers a dynamic kickboxing experience with classes ranging from Classic kickboxing to Circuit training as well as focusing on conditioning and agility.
I joined this class because I wanted to try a fun way to get fit and have never looked back since. Personally, it has helped build my endurance, cardiovascular health, mental health and strength along with providing a great community of fellow enthusiasts to train with.
All the trainers are fantastic. Every trainer has a different style but one thing in common is you are challenged in every class while also refining technique and burning a LOT of calories.

Coach John, his team and all the fighters in there are so helpful and welcoming it has been an honor kicking it with KickHouse over the course of the past couple weeks! They worked with me to ensure I was switching out any routine that I felt may irritate my fusion as well which was HUGE (even though I over did it with the actual kicking part, but that is totally my fault.)

For almost a year, I had been searching for the right place to challenge myself. When I moved to Chicago, I needed an engaging activity outside of work and to find a community that could be beneficial for me. I found that community at Kickhouse. I joined Kickhouse in April of this year after discovering the business on Instagram and meeting Coach John before making that first step to join. I knew that kickboxing classes would keep me motivated. I’ve found that attending classes multiple times a week helps build muscle memory. Over time, my mind has started to grasp the technique/key terms more naturally. I try to go 3-4 times a week, (if I could go more in my free time I would!) and I've noticed significant improvements in my physical condition and breathing. Having asthma can make it challenging to catch my breath, but lately, I've noticed that my breathing has become easier during kickboxing sessions.
I feel a sense of missing out if I skip a class, which shows just how invested I am in this community and within myself. It is a good feeling being surrounded by people who share an interest for kickboxing even if everyone is at different stages in their journey. I also enjoy seeing familiar as well as new faces every class. I truly love the support from the coaches and the energy they bring to each class. If you need motivation to join but don’t know where to start just yet, I suggest following kickhouse_parkridge on instagram they post every day, through out the day. It helps to see what you’re getting into as well and what you’ll be missing out on if you don’t join lol so hopefully you do join and wont miss out on all the fun/exercise!

I started going to Kick House almost 2 years ago. To say that it's helped me a lot is an understatement. I was in bad shape both physically and mentally - Covid really took a toll on me. When I first took a free class, I was extremely sore, but I felt alive for the first time in a few years. I started going once a week, then twice a week, and then I got the unlimited package, and I generally go at least 3 days a week. I have gained physical and mental strength. There's nothing like beating the $#!@ out of a bag to relieve stress. The coaches are fantastic and the classes vary. The folks who attend are also good people. I genuinely look forward to classes, and they just fly by. Give it a try - you'll be glad you did.

I've been on an incredible 6 month journey with Kickhouse (so far) and just signed up for another 3 months. I couldn't be more thrilled with my progress. Since starting, I've lost an impressive 72 lbs, with a goal of hitting 100 lbs within a year. This achievement is largely thanks to the supportive environment and effective workouts at Kickhouse.

I absolutely love KickHouse Park Ridge! As a longtime Orange Theory Member, I wanted to change up my routine and KickHouse came highly recommended by a good friend of mine. I’ve only been coming for about a month and a half now and I’m obsessed! The classes are great if you want to learn kickboxing for fun, strength or even self-defense. The coaches are experts at their craft and are patient and thorough as they walk you through each of the routines. The classes are always different as each coach adds their own personal touch and the playlists are fire! The coaches are also invested in the health and fitness goals of their members and do whatever they can to help you achieve them. You won’t be doing a disservice to yourself if you go, but you will be doing a disservice to yourself if you don’t.

I love it here. As a former ILKB member, i wanted to find another kickboxing gym. I love the set up of the classes. It is similar but there are different types of classes to take, I think it’s more diverse which I like the most. The staff are very friendly and inviting. You can try a class for free to get a feel for it before purchasing any class package. Once a member there is an easy app to use to sign up for class. Honestly give it a go and enjoy!

Time flies when you're having fun! It's been almost a year since I joined Kickhouse and decided to invest in my health and wellness. My only regret is that I wish I started sooner. The music playlists are spectacular and the instructors are absolutely phenomenal! The team is highly skilled, incredibly supportive, and very creative. After years of health issues preventing me from working out the way I wanted, I finally got to a point where I could try a work out routine again. I tried Kick House for the past 6 weeks and it has been wonderful. Juan and Sam put together challenging workouts every time. They are patient as you are learning forms, making sure to check and help as needed. Also, while they encourage you to do every exercise, they understand the need for modification. The main point, as Juan says often, is to keep moving, not because you have to but because you can.

The wonderful instructors are what makes Kickhouse! I’ve been a member since the location (with the same instructors) was owned by ILoveKickboxing, and although there were obstacles with COVID and new ownership, they adjusted swiftly! Their enthusiasm and the main concepts remained the same all throughout. All the instructors are so friendly, supportive, and clearly passionate about their profession. The workout itself is very challenging but gets much more manageable over time. You will be amazed at how much better you’ll get with time—and the toned muscles and fat loss that come with that hard work and consistency! It’s quite pricey but so worth it to find a workout and hobby that’s unique and enjoyable—even for those, like me, who never thought they’d be excited and eager to exercise.

I successfully completed the Six Week challenge at Kickhouse Park Ridge! It was not easy, but the workouts and meal plan provided essential guidelines for me to accomplish my goals. I have not had this much energy nor felt this fit in YEARS. I cannot commend the instructors at Kickhouse enough, they are consistently helpful and motivating. They work with the participants and guide them towards achieving their fitness goal. They hold participants accountable by helping monitor their diets as well as encouraging the participants to show up for scheduled classes. The motivation and accountability were helpful tools in achieving this goal for me.

I did the 6-week challenge at the Park Ridge Location and I am down 27.5 pounds!!! I haven't felt so strong, both mentally and physically, in years. The staff is so great and super nice, and keep you accountable with your weekly weigh ins. I would go to classes around 4 or 5 times a week, and it was the first time I looked forward to a work out each day. Each day was different and intense but the motivation from the coaches and their great energy kept me going. The workouts are intense but manageable and it definitely does the job to get to your goal. They provide you with a meal plan that you must follow to help you reach your goal. Hi everyone, I did the 6-week challenge at the Park Ridge location of Kickhouse.
They keep you accountable to push you to your goal. Weekly posts of what you are eating, a minimum requirement of days to come in, and weigh ins.
The staff is kind and upbeat. Any questions you have will be answered. They are also just nice people to have a conversation with.
The workouts are different and intense. While the classes are structured in the same way of cardio, stretching, and rounds of kickboxing, each day is different in what exercise you will be doing. They also teach you the proper way to kick and punch and help you through the workouts.
They help with nutrition. There are multiple nutritional guides for different people to follow. They help choose the right one for you.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, and for those who don’t think you can reach your goal, you absolutely can with their motivation and help!

Never have I had a workout that incorporated such a variety, kept me interested and made the time just melt away. I have been a member for over a year and I have never known a workout that I have loved more. If you’re looking to sweat, you’ll find the first 15 mins of the HIIT warmup right up your alley. They have great instructors who continue to motivate you and will provide one on one instruction if you need it, but who also still give you the freedom to work at your own pace. Besides the great workout and the instructors, I have never felt a stronger sense of community in a gym. You never know who your friends are until you sweat and are trying to catch your breath together after the last speed round.

As a runner and someone who is learning boxing from professionals I have to say that the risk of injury is high as they explain combo ONCE and then just stand there. 95% of class does it wrong! They push fake excitement through loud music and yelling in microphone ‘motivational words’ to compensate for lack of teaching proper technique and ‘trainers’ incompetence. Bought 5 classes pass, used 2 just to give it second chance. Believe me when I say - this is the nicest way to express how bad this gym is.

I have no idea how I'm going to condense everything I love about ILKB @ Park Ridge into one concise review, but I'm going to do my best! Simply put, the ILKB studio in Park Ridge is not your average kickboxing gym. If you're coming to class for a good workout, you will surely get that. The conditioning and the bag rounds will have you sweating your butt off yet also smiling ear to ear because you are so proud that you made it through an insane workout and likewise make the realization that you can do anything you put your mind to. Yes, the sweat and endorphins are guaranteed, but what you will also get out of this gym is a second family. From the very first time I walked through those studio doors, I felt embraced by Lisa(the manager) and the instructors. They saw potential in me that I did not yet see in myself, and they worked with me each and every class to help me grow not only as an athlete, but as a person in general. I have never been so happy and positive and self-loving before, and being able to say that feels amazing! It's all thanks to ILKB at Park Ridge.
If you want the ultimate kickboxing experience, you'd be a fool to join anywhere else! I can say this because I actually started at a different ILKB gym and can confidently say that my experience there didn't even come CLOSE to matching the amazing experience I've had at the Park Ridge gym thus far. Convenient class times, a diverse group of members(all ages, body types, fitness levels, etc.), reasonably priced merchandise, fun monthly incentives, great music that hypes you up during your workout, sweet, relatable, and 100% genuine staff members who don't shove promotions down your throats and only want the very best for you, etc. You can get all of that and more at ILKB in Park Ridge, so join as soon as you can! My only regret is not joining sooner!!!

If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would. The instructors are wonderful, patient and kind. When I scheduled my first class, I was extremely hesitant about the capabilities of myself. Lisa told me that "Everyone is on their own fitness journey and the instructors will meet you where you are ". Truer words have never been spoken. I immediately felt comfortable in class; I immediately felt like a part of a family.
I Love Kickboxing in Park Ridge not only provides a hard core workout that will make you sweat, but also provides a space to be yourself and smash your goals one day at a time.
If you are reading this review because you are looking for a new way to workout or looking for a way to burn off some stream, stop reading and come join the family on the mat! You won't regret your decision.

I bought trial classes for this location and was really disappointed with my experience. I’ve been an athlete all my life and kickboxed for 12 years. I was excited when I moved to Park Ridge a few months ago and found that there was a new ILKB here. I’d heard good things about the workout and thought it would be a fun supplement to my current fitness regimen. Nice members, good music and it’s pretty clean-I will give them that. But it’s too hard of a sell and it’s very hypocritical and unprofessional. The heavy-set older woman at the desk pushed and probed from the moment I walked through the door. The interaction was so forced and didn’t seem genuine at all. She told me about their meal plans even after I told her I don’t need help with diet. Her talking points about nutrition and fitness were way off so I knew she didn’t know her stuff or work out herself. Shouldn’t a person in this position practice what they preach?? It was a turnoff to say the least. After my class, she did a hard push again and that was when I decided I was just a number and a sale. And ultimately not interested. A few days later I tried to transfer my remaining classes to another location and was told to call Corporate. Corporate told me to call the location. It was far more frustration than it was worth and each time I called, they never answered. I never did get my money back.
My brother-in-law also tried a class here and this same woman did a “one on one” with him. She wasn’t able to properly show or explain the form, nor could she demonstrate the moves during the HIIT part of the workout. Again, hypocrisy. How can you sell what you can’t even do yourself in fitness?? Come to find out she is the manager of the gym. ???
Meanwhile, another girl taught the rest of the class an entirely different routine. Oddly, I did a regular class and the two guys teaching it barely spoke to me while I was there. News flash: Singling out new and/or unfit people de-motivates and intimidates them, it isn’t helpful. My brother-in-law was trying to get fit again after a surgery and long rehab but he never went back either. I am normally a very positive person but this experience for my family and myself was very negative. Sorry ILKB, but we’re not buying what you’re selling. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

My daughter and I are members. We love going! It is an amazing workout, stress reliever, and fun time. The place is clean and the staff/instructors are the best. You feel like family when you are there!

I love it at ILKB Park Ridge!! It just opened up and I loved it so much on the first day that I signed up for the whole year membership! The instructors are very friendly, fun, and super helpful! They provide enough push to keep me going and know how to help modify certain exercises that I need. The overall atmosphere is great, relaxed, and fun! The music is great to work out to- I usually find myself dancing/ boxing to the beat! This is my new favorite way to de-stress after work and get back in shape for my upcoming wedding! I loved it so much that I got two of my sister-in-laws and mom to join me!! I highly recommend ILKB to anyone and everyone no matter what shape you’re in. Everyone pushes themselves as hard as they want and goes at their own pace so it works perfectly! The more you put in, the more results you will see in the end!
