Kingfisher is so much more than a gym. It’s an amazing community of like-minded people who offer support, encouragement, and commitment to the sport. We are grateful for the coaches and their approach and care for each athlete. If you are looking for a gym in the Sycamore/DeKalb area, you won’t regret coming to Kingfisher.

This is so much more than a gym, it’s a community and a family. The support from the members and the coaches is like no other. They take the time to get to know each member, not just as athletes but as individuals. This personalized approach has made a world of difference in my fitness journey. The results I've achieved are beyond my expectations, and it's all thanks to the supportive, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring coaching staff. If you're looking for a gym that truly invests in your success, join Kingfisher. Hannah and Eric will take the best care of you!!

Not even sure where to begin. I attend this CrossFit gym because I followed my coach from my previous gym. The reason I did this wasn’t because other coaches were not capable of coaching me, but because this coach has always gone above and beyond. Coach Eric is the person you want in your corner. He’s a coach, a friend, someone you can let your stressful emotions out on and at the end of the day, the one person who continues to believe in you. He puts in the work to understand how to meet you where you are and make sure that the modification you are doing still feels just as hard, if not harder than the original movements. This is coming from someone that has always been overweight, and now pregnant with baby number 2 but still working out at full term, safely, thanks to his knowledge and hunger for learning. He truly cares about his members and puts his gym family only second to his super supportive wife, Mikalah. They have shown what incredible business owners they are and will continue to show Sycamore and the surrounding area just how much their community means to them. I could never be more grateful!

Kingfisher is where it's at!! Brand new facility with top of the line equipment and top of the line coaches!! I cannot express how much I enjoy CrossFit and I believe the coaches and the environment play a huge role in it. Coaches Eric and Hannah are great and extremely knowledgeable. They will scale movements based on your skill level, if you've had an injury or are even just not feeling a certain movement that day. Everyone is super welcoming and it is definitely not a cliquey type of place. If you're on the fence about trying it, GO FOR IT, it's worth it!! (Also Eric has dad jokes for days!! hahah)

Kingfisher CrossFit is awesome! Coaches Eric and Hannah are perfect. Having never experienced CrossFit and as a 50 something year old dad with past back surgery, I was a little fearful to begin CrossFit activities. However, Eric and Hannah take the time to educate you and scale the activities to your tolerance yet tactfully nudge and motivate you as they see your ability to progress. The people that workout at Kingfisher are a welcoming fun group. With classes scheduled all day and six days per week, it is easy to fit into your work and family schedule. I attend classes five days per week and just LOVE IT! Their slogan is to “Turn Fear Into Anticipation” and that is what happened to me. My initial fear to participate has morphed into an excited anticipation to attend the next class.
Lastly, I think this recent quote from Eric defines the vibe of his gym, “When you are performing the exercise it is all about you. When you complete the exercise it is no longer about you and what you could have done, the focus is on those that are still performing the exercise and you should cheer them on”.
The loudest cheer at Kingfisher Crossfit is from the group to those that finish last.
