This location is far better than others i have been too and i really enjoy this gym. It has every machine i could ask for. My only criticism is the removal of paper towels in the locker room. Paper towels are useful for wiping things off. Now i get to witness people drying off their belongings, including shower shoes, and getting foot juices splattered everywhere. Not to mention the lack of drywall repair from converting to blow dryers only. Please be thoughtful before changes or it'll end up like the X-Sport Schaumburg location (now LA Fitness) which has become a biohazard that i have no idea how it passes inspection

To LA Fitness management,
On Friday 10/24/25 around 5:50pm when we checked in at LA Fitness location at Arlington Heights, IL. "Karolina" or the young lady on duty at the front counter was rude and inconsistent with check-in process while the couple behind us did not have to check their guest in and walked right in. When I asked her to help me with the guest register process, she smirked and turned to Anthony to take over because she did not want to complete the interaction with us... Karolina's manner was very rude towards a club member like me that does not cause a scene or trouble and I have been member since 2021. Shame on the LA Fitness Arlington Heights IL location for allowing Karolina to mistreat a loyal club members.

The guy that cleans the bathroom is very disrespectful because I ask him to please stop spraying while I was using the bathroom and he didn't stop even when I ask him in both languages Spanish and English I call the manger to talk to him and the guy was still saying he was just cleaning and that even try to toll me to use another bathroom like okay you don't tell me what to do when im paying for a membership and your the employee so.. is crazy but just not okay dealing with that while using the bathroom I just couldn't take the staff he was over spraying non stop so is ridiculous..

This gym location is terrible. 3 Young people in front make eye contact not one person greeted at the front desk, and this during day time hours about 930am... This is far the most rudest staff yet. Who raised you people, do you even have parents or did Nanny raise you ? Where are the manners here? I pay too much for this gym 37.95 a month to be treated unwelcome. THEY Def NEED NEW STAFF . Besides the classes, this gym not worth your time. Lake zurich, is the best Location, so far and I visit all the suburb locations. They deserve a 0, because of Lori zumba.. you get 1 star.

The place is clean! The bathrooms are clean! And I'm glad they've disinfectant wipes! I come around 5-6pm so it's a bit crowded and I have to wait to use certain machines but I don't mind as the wait is never too long! If you're planning on starting to working out, do so!! My previous gym (the one on Dundee, next to Kohls and Portillo’s) was bought out by LA Fitness. They closed it down for repairs, however, I do not think anything AT ALL is actually going on in there. However, this gym is pretty clean and nice. Lots of equipment so you don’t have to wait (unless you’re there during a peak time).

The place got me sick with Covid just a week ago. One of my best friends and another person I know got Covid over the same weekend. Always using their wet wipes they offer, but honestly I don't think they do anything. The machines are not great, they break all time, the Tv' s on and off, there's lot of rust too. LA fitness management, please keep that place safe for people that attend. It needs to be disinfected, bring back the spray bottles with disinfectant, Covid is still around. Please repair the cardio machines. Thank you.

This gym bought out my previous gym. After initially promising nothing would change, they closed down that gym. When I tried to cancel my membership, they gave me the runaround. I had to have my bank stop accepting charges from them. Now, they refuse to take no for an answer! I have an automatic filter on my phone to prevent spam, and these hooligans come through with "naked grandma" and "yo mama!" as responses to "What is the nature of your call?" Is this considered reasonable behavior to these people? Frankly ridiculous. Stop calling! There's a good reason the card is declining! Leave me alone!

It’s really unfortunate that they bought out the North Arlington XSport location only to close it permanently, forcing all members to switch to the South LA Fitness. While the facility is newer, it’s extremely overcrowded. If you're okay with your workouts taking twice as long due to waiting for machines or weights, then this might work for you—but for me, it's been frustrating.

I still have a year left on my membership, which I purchased before the closure, and they’ve refused to offer any kind of refund. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this gym.

Someone used the urinals here for non-urinal activities and it stayed dirty for a grossly long time. An employee here over charged me for my membership and I was never given a refund after talking to a manager and being promised a check in the mail. This place is cheeks.

I hate this gym. When I first started, this gym was great, but slowly started getting out of control. First I wanna start off with the workers are terribly rude. I had a terrible encounter with one of the workers getting all up in my face. Next on Mondays are the worst they clearly reach over the capacity with how packed it is standing 15 minutes just to get one machine. On top of that, if you use the restroom, someone takes your machine. Third there are many groups of teenage boys clogging up every section. I also noticed that there are spilled drinks everywhere. It stinks in this place, especially when it’s hot in the summer. The bathroom for all genders is never clean and disgusting. At one point I even saw diarrhea on the floor. People here do not re-rack their dumbbells. At this location, they lie and they don’t have a sauna. I also noticed a lot of the equipment is always out of service for weeks on end. There’s also really weird people here. I had a one encounter where a grandpa was smiling and staring at me, nodding his head. I just found that to be really uncomfortable. and I just wanna end this review by saying it’s not worth it especially with the $50 price.

I was a member for about 3 years. I do not recommend this gym. They broke into my locker. Thankfully , I do not leave anything valuable in my locker so nothing was stolen . They did the same last summer where bunch of members were complaining with someone breaking into their locker. The gym is constantly crowded and even more this year since Xsport got bought out by LA fitness and they closed Xsport locations. You are constantly waiting for a free machine. The gym and the lockers are always dirty, when equipments are out of order, it takes forever for them to get it fixed. All pulley work out machines do not have adequate accessories. you will be disappointed. I was looking for another gym. I finally canceled my membership and signed up at another fitness center in Buffalo Grove last month and I love it. The difference is night and day!

This is the only location I can afford right now because it’s close to my job and I hate paying 50 bucks a month for THIS. Most people here don’t know basic gym etiquette. Hardly anyone racks their weights, kids come in groups, block the machines just to chat and mess around like it’s a mall. The manager was lying to me in regards to what the insurance company requires in regards to an assessment for a new member. The manager at this location had absolutely no class and is a bad look for the gym. Will Work out at the other 10,000 gyms I have access.

Brand new location, or so it feels. Wide open space that includes cardio and weight lifting equipment on a large single floor. Machines are relatively new and I'm good shape. Probably the best LA Fitness location in the area 👌

Just wanted to share the experience that we had with the Zumba instructor Axana. She is consistently rude, dismissive, and acts as if she is above everyone else. Rather than fostering a welcoming environment, she treats members with an attitude that makes it clear she thinks she runs the place.

She comes in 15 mins before her class, blasts the music super high and with all her attitude lets everyone know that everyone should leave. Not only me but my other friends are always upset with her.

If you’re looking for an instructor who is supportive and respectful, I’d recommend avoiding her classes. Hopefully, LA Fitness takes feedback seriously and ensures that instructors create a more welcoming and professional atmosphere regardless if it’s before their class or during or after.

This was a great location but in the last couple months the hygiene of a lot people (mostly new members) have made this place really unpleasant.
Body odor during a workout is understandable but smelling like urine or weeks old sweaty dirty clothes is a completely different thing and shouldn't be permitted.

Now with the new people from other gyms is very crowded, too many treadmills and not enough strengthening equipment, the basketball court is such a waste of space, they should turn it into an extra strengthening area.

LA Fitness bought Xsport and shut them down, told Xsport members to go train at nearby LA location, problem is, these LA locations were overcrowded 2yrs ago.

Now there are people from 3 gyms trying to workout in one gym, its middle school math basically, you simply cannot accommodate that many ppl into these tiny gyms, clearly the 7 figure earning Execs at the parent company cannot comprehend simple facts like this. Or maybe the corporate greed clouds their judgement, take your pick

There is a line for every single machine at this gym, you have wait for 2 other people to get your turn, its insane, in my 16 years of gym going I have never seen anything like that, and its not just during rush hour, the place is overcrowded at most times.

They haven't spent a single dime to add more space, or have opened new LA location nearby, when there is clearly a need for it, If you wanna go to a gym that has longer lines than a DMV to get your workout in, then this is your place!

I have been regularly attending the personal training sessions with Nima, and he is the best! Super friendly and knows his clients' limitations. He always pushes me when he knows I can do more or lift heavier, but he's conscientious about some physical limitations I have. He makes sure that the workouts are challenging for me but that I don't overdo it or injure myself. I highly recommend him if you are looking for a personal trainer!

Staff and facilities are great. I think that LA fitness personal training programs are a joke in the sense that corporate cannot even follow their own contract. I moved to Wisconsin a while ago. During this time I was trying to get out of the contract which specifically states that if there is not a LA fitness within 50 miles I can cancel my personal training. I sent LA fitness my lease and they stated they can only take 3 specific pieces of information to prove that I have moved. It was a bill of utilities, a piece of mail sent to my address, and something else (I forgot). I sent every piece of information and they stated that "it didn't fit their requirements", they made up an excuse why they couldn't accept it every single time. Long story short, after a lot of circles, I read the specific contract. It says, and I quote, "...any reasonable evidence...". A lease is reasonable evidence. There is no mention about the only three pieces of "evidence" they will take. Corporate just wants to stick you in a contract that you can never get out of because they don't even follow it! I called corporate, informed them they had breached their own contract and they will be taking no more money from me personal training wise or membership wise. I think it's hilarious because I would have kept my membership for another month while I was back and forth moving but the way they could not follow their own contract did not sit with me right. What a joke. Any who... after a bunch of phone calls and text messages saying how my payment isn't going through, I finally get a call from a corporate manager saying how they have received my information and that they were able to cancel everything, and how they are sorry for the inconvenience. YEAH RIGHT! I will never be coming back to LA fitness in my lifetime. I tell everyone who mentions LA fitness this story and it has turned away many due to this. Stinks that the place was not bad and I actually enjoyed the atmosphere. Not a reputable company at all. You would think they would fix this if its all over their account in Better Business Bureau.

Here’s I’ve been a member of this gym for 5 years and live nearby, but unfortunately, I’ve watched it decline year after year. I’ve spoken with management a few times, but they don't seem to care. The equipment is old and rusty, and they’ve removed all paper towels, likely to cut costs. During the summer, it gets unbearably hot inside because they’re trying to save on power. It’s really disappointing to see this decline.

Good gym overall for the price. Some machines may be down for maintenance but they usually get fixed in a few weeks. Not a big deal since there are many machines that do the same or similar thing. I find it totally unacceptable that one of the machines has been down for roughly 4 months. Anytime you ask the staff when it will be fixed they just say that the part is not available. It is a spring. How can it not be available for four months. We are paying members and should have the equipment working that we paid for or be refunded or monthly fees. Don't waste your time and money in signing up for a personal trainer. I made that mistake. I tried to come to an agreement with Mark, district manager and I couldn't believe the level of disrespect and lack of etiquette when speaking to a client. I feel ashamed for him and the organization for hiring someone like him. He said "we shouldn't even be servicing you." Just after I had paid a good amount to start off, everything went down hill. The person who I was supposed to meet he never showed up. I got a text from a person trainer and th hours didn't aligned with mine. Then they tried to get me with another personal trainer and he did trained me for alike 25 minutes and that was it. He didn't scheduled me for another session.

This use to be a good gym, now its the worst LA fitness location in the area. The most unprofressional group of people at the front desk, usually there is a guy behind the desk wearing nothing but a white wife beater, flirting with girls who work there, hitting on girls who are checking in, or else throws around a basketball with his buddies sitting in the new member sign up area. No LA Fitness unform, NO name badge, No concept of customer service. When you say Hello he gives a menacing look like you ruined his day. Its the same attitude with other people who work here. I usually go to the gym in Dundee, but since I had some time to kill in Arlington Heights, I visited this establishment, and I actually love it more than my original location. It's way bigger & there's more equipment, so I was able to work out without any issues, no standing around. The only issue I had was that there was only one stand with sanitary wipes. All the others were empty, so i had to keep walking across the gym to get wipes. But nonetheless, this is a great gym.

I love this gym and the cleanliness. My only issue is that there are no overhead fans so sweat stays on you. Also, it can be hard to find weights/machines because it can get busy.

I moved nearby for 15 months super easy to sign up and the gym was clean! The pool was warm and not dirty which I really appreciated. I’ve been to other LA fitnesses and this is the best kept. When I switched over to have LA through my insurance they canceled my membership without any hassle which I can tell you other LA fitnesses don’t! I highly recommend them.

Great gym for the price. They have plenty of equipment, though maintenance isn't always prompt. The people who come here also tend to not rerack weights. It can take weeks for signage to be posted on faulty equipment. Some equipment takes weeks for repairs. The current staff are friendly, so that's always a plus.

Some of the personal trainers here are real good at manipulating you into buying their services but not good at keeping their part of the bargain. I would definitely recommend NOT getting the personal training package.

If you do get it I would recommend working with Abraham as much as possible he's extremely pleasant to work with from the times I was able to schedule with him.

I go to this gym in Arlington Heights, Chicago, Illinois and have been training for a year now, everything was good, very clean and decent, now very dirty, even I took some photos and showed them (manga staff). they said we'll fix it, but trust me. or not, no one did anything for two weeks! Air conditioner not working heater sometimes doesn’t work….. certainly can’t recommend the gym until it changes (staff mang!)

One of the cleanest and nicest LA Fitness locations in the area. Wish they had a sauna. The front desk people are so rude. Never say hi or bye. They always seems to have an attitude like they are better than everyone which is just hilarious to me lol

When we signed up the guy was super annoying. They are very pushy and don't know when to stop. They definitely need a different sales strategy because this one isn't a good one.

Cleaner since it's recently remodeled. It has lots of equipment with individual tv, a large free weight section, basketball gym, group classes and stretch area. The pool is a bit shallow 4ft. No dry sauna or hot tub.

Try to cancel your membership with this guys. It's a nightmare.

It's a well-equipped gym, but be warned: the place is overrun with teenagers; you'll think you walked in on a high school mixer. If you're past that age, it can get really obnoxious.

The fact that they don’t have a sauna or steam room is beyond me! What’s the point of the gym being here? It might as well be a regular planet fitness or something 😒 for all the money La fitness wants for their membership, there is not any reason in the world for each location not having a sauna.

BE AWARE OF FAKE MEMBERSHIP FRAUD!

If you have ever brought your friend or family member with you as a guest, the sales rep might have added those people to your account without your presence or authorization. They take all the information of the guest on paper and then fake your signature to add some sales number for commission.

I have charged extra membership for about 7-8 months and finally realized there is a duplicate charge from LA fitness on my credit card. The manager said there is nothing they can do because there is a "FAKE" signature on the agreement and said it was my responsibility not to keep eye on my credit card for this long period of time. The only thing they could do was to call your credit card company and dispute it as a fraud, which I tried and didn't work out maybe because of the FAKE signature. Then they gave me a corporate number and basically said you deal with it, not us!
